Glad you had a fab day Lily you deserve it!!! xxx
What a lovely celebration Lily - and a caring, if slightly erring on the side of caution, group of students! As the the Head well we all know where he can put his donāt we? The cake was lovely I enjoyed my cyber slice just now when I logged on and found it sitting there for me! Have a great day today - at least youāre not in the classroom all day and wonāt be picking up bits of pink balloon that the cleaners have left for you LOL
Hope everyone else is OK and hoping Lorraine is getting some help.
Take care

Hi,
just in from a meal out with my local BC pals and popping again! Fish and chips then banoffeee pie tonight. I have a bit of a headache from the stress of the school trip. Nothing happened but you just worry all the time just in case.Crikey it takes a lot of planning - have the trip itself approved as educational enough (takes a week), get the date approved (another week if you are lucky), get permission for enough teachers to accompany the trip (unlikely), get parents approval (half donāt reply and you have to ring them), collect the money (half never arrives), fill 20,000 forms out about risk for getting on the coach and off the coach, find a coach you can afford for the trip (cheapest Ā£155 for 2.5 miles each way), photocopy emergency and approval forms 3 times for each student (32), leave aforementioned at the main office, another set with your named person in school in case a contact is needed (if anyone will agree to this huge responsibility), carry the other set with you for the whole day (heavy bag), collect school mobile phone (canāt be yours), collect sick bags and first aid kit(also in your bag all day), identify first aider for the duration of the trip, count the pupils every 2o minutes (exagerating now!), discuss conduct with the group (good or else),discuss appropriate clothes with the group, attempt to terrify them with some nasty punishment if they misbehave (detention with me every day until you leave school)and then try to keep up with them for the whole day (trip on the 4th floor puff). It is always and will be at least another year before I can face that one again yawn yawn.I did get a free lunch though which rallied me through but on paracetamol by the afternoon.
Lorraine still in hospital and on antibiotics for both ends she said so I think our buddy is having a tough time from the sound of it.
Take care

Hi Lily
Hope this didnāt put a dampener on your birthday week. At least the fish n chips, not forgetting the banoffee pie, made up for it Trips aināt what they used to be - bloominā health and safety. Have a good rest of the week. Not so good about Lorraine is it, sending her positive vibes and hoping she feels better soon and gets out of hospital. BTW the bedroom we decorated was ours, the colour is duck egg, 3 walls painted and then a āfeatureā wall of wallpaper - very ābang on trendā as Gok or someone else would say! All finished now and moved back in - just gets me thinking about all the other rooms now!
Hi to everyone else, hope things are going well with you and the wet weather isnāt getting you down.
Love the new photo Lisa.
Take care all
Nicky xx
Lily what a hectic day you had with the outing, roll on next year eh?
Glad you had a great birthday.
Lisa, like Nicky, love the new photo.
Nicky, it sounds like youāve been busy getting the decorating done and it sounds lovely, really nice warm colours.
Just also sending good wishes to Lorraine, sorry to hear she is so poorly and still in hospital, but always thinking of her.
I have a friend who was going through chemo at the same time as me, although for a Lymphoma cancer not BC and Iām upset too because I heard this week that her cancer has returned in her intestines so she too is quite poorly, just underwent surgery and is starting chemo as soon as she is fit enough.
Me, well Iām ok, still waiting for my GP to bring forward my July appointment to see the Onc which was meant to be in April but which was postponed until July ā even after he said he wanted to see me in April! I canāt progress with the recon until Iāve seen him so Iām a bit down about this.
Anyway, enough of the moaning - Mr P and I went to Ikea today and bought bathroom fitments so we can get on with completing our bathroom and so far itās looking really good. We managed to buy some good, but cheap tiles in the sale so weāve got white with grey/granite colour edging tiles.
What are we all watching at the moment ladies? I like Silent Witness, Dancing on Ice, Build a New Life in the Country, and the new programme Vampire Diariesā¦
all easy for losing oneself in

Hi,
well rushed in after a scintillating staff meeting and ready for my dinner at the posh restaurant (all seered pigeon brest and jus!) and it was cancelled as one guest (the one paying) is unwell. So deflated but something nice to look forward to next week now. So spag bol for Victor and I. Appointments are coming through the door every day booooooooo. I have been having little messages from Lorraine who is in a side ward because her neuts are low. I thought that must be rather lonely though, poor her. If well enough she has more chemo on Monday but she is choosing to stay in hospital at the moment. So fingers crossed everyone that she is well enough for another dose.
Nicky that is mt favourite colour at the moment and I have been nagging Victor about damp patches round the ceiling and redecorating - no luck so far. Lovely to go to bed in a room all done to your taste. Will you be spending more time in there (wink)?
Peacock so sorry to hear of your friend and hope she responds well to the new treatment. She didnāt have long did she before she had to go through it all again, poor her. Keep asking about your appointment and he will get fed up and do it.Granite edged tiles sound lovely. I have granite coloured worktops in my kitchen and they look smart even when they arenāt if you know what I mean. Is there much of the house left to complete now? I am a hollyoaks fan, holby city, location location, columbo, morse but films mostly.
Lisa you are very quiet, what are you up to?
Well Victor pointed out that I havenāt got any holiday brochures to go to America yet!!! Hooray another good plan works out.
Take care

hiya all, im still around but didnt even get my lap top out last night, because my house was tidy for friends coming last weekend Ive been keeping on top of it and boy it does make me feel happier not surrounded in crap!!!
Well Nicky, great mind think alike my beadroom is beige/brown with a teal flowered feature wall!! Love the colours,e ven more so now its tidy!! Brother has bashed the tiles off one wall in my bathroom so the mess has started, so excited about getting it done, Ive put up with the peach suite for 10 years! Peacock like you mine is black and white but cheap white tiles and then some mosaic tiles that are black with sparkles inside and when light on them lots of colours so I can change my towels and accessories often, who would have thought such a small space would have caused me so much hassle, mainly trying to fit in what I want!! Exciting having a digital shower so its warm when i enter - hee hee!!!
Sorry about Lorraine I will text her later - hope she gets the chemo and its good that she is in being kept an eye on. When I was in much preferred a side ward, in fact once moved me into open ward I was out the day after.
Peacock sorry about your friend, it hits hard doesnt it.
Nicky, we will have to have pics of that bedroom, without you in it of course.
Lily, least you can carry on with your celebrations having to wait for the meal!!! Get them brochures out - Im excited!!
Well better get back to work, its friday! Mamogram Monday
p.s. bit of Holby fan, Bill, American Idol, Dancing on Iceā¦ anything really! Just watching all the episodes of gavin and stacy which Im finding quite amusing!!
Lily, what are all these appointments you have to have? At least one thing is that it is checking you out all over. Your kitchen sounds lovely! Have you been on the internet yet to get some American ideas? Well, we know what youāll be doing this weekend.
Lisa your bathroom sounds great too, black/grey/white are such fantastic colours and like you say you can co-ordinate the accessories frequently too. We will need new bath mats and towels so they are next on my list, but not sure if itās possible to get grey towels? Gavin & Stacey was funny, I do hope they will make another series. I forgot about Holby, yes one of my favourites too.
Bev how are you getting on now, hope you are managing better on your feet. Again I wish Lorraine all the best and hope her chemo will go ahead for Monday, she must be getting fed up in hospital.
The news about my friend isnāt good: her husband saw the Dr today and was told that it is just a matter of weeks/days now as the cancer is too far advanced.
YD has mock exams next week, so I will be nagging her to study, study, and study. Her friend is coming around tomorrow so hopefully some joint studying going on. Weāre entertaining some friends tomorrow so looking forward to that. Iām going to try and make a meringue thingy with lemon and kiwi, I can picture it in my head but canāt imagine how it will turn out!
Have a good weekend all

Hi,
Heard from Lorraine, her neuts are still down so trying for chemo again on Thursday and on antibiotics to sort out her other problems. She also has to have the ascites drained. You sort of feel that if they could get the chemo going on a regular basis it would have a chance to hit the fluid problem too. She is still chatty so hoping that means she is soldiering on ok.Poor old buddy.
Lisa yuk I got my mammo letter today but not till April. Oh I hate the big squeeze and the worry about what it could start. Best of luck with that and try not to imagine the worst. I am reading a book at the moment that says the universe delivers what you expect so these 3 women are trying to solve their life problems by going into things expecting to achieve. In their cases it is a career, a meaningful relationship, family problems, so at least I managed to pick a book that is not about cancer this time. Anyway so, for the universe, I must say you will be absolutely fine and that is what I am picturing for you x. Digital shower what is that?
Peacock I hope you get your daughter stuck into her books. In my experience it is a lot easier with girls! There is no way I would have survived exam time with 3 boys!!!Love him to bits and such a lovely person but revising, well! Such sad news about your friend and I know this will pull you low with it so take care.
Well I have bloody had 3 bloody hospital appointments in 3 bloody days so I might just bloody pull our bloody number of the bloody house or bloody change it as the bloody postman obviously needs a bloody big kick up the bloody backside!! Bloody lucky for him I was not bloody in but each bloody day Victor had them bloody laying in state bloody waiting for me so they were the first bloody thing I saw. See they have brought the bloody trouble back again! So I have the podiatrist next week to see if my achilles tendon is peeling off my heel or if it is another problem. Then I have a week off followed by a whole body bone scan (radioactive isotope injected so canāt see little chap after it) and a CT scan with contrast (vein digging and drinking crappy stuff)in the same week eeek. Then I have mammos in April (ouch)and the onc again in April for 12 week check with full blood test and profiles again. Then I see the surgeon in July. Good job I donāt have anything nasty then lol :)Wonder what they would do if they were worried about me then? I am definitely not considering surgery too much lined up already so will sit it out and see where the universe takes me, correction - and the universe will sort this all out perfectly for me
Love
Positive Lily x
Hi Ladies
All sounds like a round of hospital appointments at the moment Are all your follow up appts due to the trial you were on Lily? They must know you inside and out by now LOL. Mammos are really painful arenāt they? Squash the boob time! Hope itās not too uncomfortable for you and for Lisa on Monday.
Peacock - how awful about your friend - thatās the bugger about this bloody disease, whether itās BC or other, itās so unpredictable. I hope they do all they can to make her comfortable and not in any pain which is probably all they can do from what you have said. A dreadful shock to her family and friends, donāt let it get you down though, as situations like this often can. Hope you get your appointment sooner than July - all that waiting around for you to sort out your next stage of getting back to normal must be so frustrating. Is this a French onc or an English one (as in the country rather than a nationality!)? If your appt is in France I guess theyāre not going to hurry Bathroom sounds lovely, keep Mr P busy!
Lisa - your bathroom sounds lovely as well, as Lily says what is a digital shower? I may need to change mine if they are that good! Also, tidy house means tidy mind! Hope all the neatness is helping you think straight in that case, or at least sleep well. My EDās bedroom is always a mess and then she complains about not sleeping! Bad Feng Shui is all I can say!
Sorry to hear that Lorraine is still so poorly - as you say Lily, youād think they could do something to make sure the chemo gets going properly which would then help the ascites (sp?). I must find her number again (Iāve lost it once already) and send her a text to let her know I am thinking about her.
Weāre off to a friendās 50th party this evening which should be good fun, other than that fairly quiet. YD is home next weekend and then we are driving back with her the following one so we can help her move to her new apartment which is is sharing with one of her uni friends. Hopefully for the rest of her course so we shouldnāt have to do it again until 2012! Weāll just have the hassle of dealing with France Telecom again when we try to establish the line and move her LiveBox - wish me luck - however I donāt expect any sympathy from Peacock! She knows them too well!
Take care all, have a great weekend, Iāll see about getting a piccy up of my bedroom - will just move OH out 1st!
Nicky xx
Well jus text Lorraine and sounds like sheās in a bit of pain and not up to chemo, hope neuts pick up soon.
Well not up to much this weekend, will make you laugh, been on the wii and cant admit to my wii age but today said iād put weight on since yesterday, ooppps realised last night didnt have the boob off so off it was whipped today and back on target lol!!
Digital shower is a shower head (which is going to be in my celing with a remote control so i can sit on loo or lie in bed and by time i get to shower it will have got to my desired temperate and flow - get meā¦
Well have a lovely weekend - making some jewellery and might attempt an early night, shattered again.

Hi,
shower sounds fab Lisa, Iāll add it to my wish list Havenāt spoken to Lorraine today but trying to call often as being in a side room you donāt get to chat to people so much. I laughed at your wii minus the falsie weight. Cheating again eh! Have you got a date to have it done yet or are you still planning what to do? Good luck Monday.
Nicky hope the party is good fun. Everyone is 50 these days - so common ha ha.Hooray no appointment from the postman today, noticed it was a lady instead of the usual bloke. Going wedding shoe shopping tomorrow at Lakeside so that should be fun. I was going to have pale pink shoes and bag but the kids bought me a grey bag for my birthday. Do you think your shoes and bag should match? Julia you are expert in these matters?
Enjoy Sunday
Love

Hi
That really made me laugh Lisa - great way to instant weight loss! Hope youāre not aching too much from using your Wii - we did when we first got ours. I meant to have said what a fab present for everyone to get you - luck you. As to the shower - well what can I say? Let us know how great it is - you lazy girl - and we can all get one as Lily says.
Lily - hope the shopping went well and you got what you needed. Could you add a touch of pink to the grey bag and therefore keep everyone happy?
Sorry to hear about Lorraine - doesnāt not sound very good for her all this pain. I will text her later when I get my phone back - duh brain left it at the party last night! We had a great evening dancing away to some disco classics that we all remembered dancing to when we were in our teens - some great memories. Luckily no sore head today as I was dancing so much I didnāt have time to drink much - what a result! However my feet are rather sore today as I lasted most of the night in my heels.
Have a great day everyone
Nicky xx
Hi,
the dancing sounds fun Nicky. Hope you behaved terribly and really went for it Hmm I am sympathising with the feet. We went wedding shoe shopping and my feet are not happy about it. Will give the podiatrist something to look at on Wed anyway. I really have trouble finding any shoes that fit, so I was expecting a complete disaster trying to find smart, grey shoes that I could walk in without looking like I just got off a horse! So very pleased to find quite a few shoes that were ok and bought 3 pairs. I have a mid grey patent like court shoe with pointy āstamp on menā heels, but not too high - you know the kind I mean. They are a necessity to go with the outfit but will be off my feet under the table as soon as I sit down. Then I have a pair of very bling silver flatties with diamonds on the toes for the evening and dancing. If all else fails I will move on to slippers Then I just saw some really cute dolly shoes in next that had very padded soles so bought them too. They look like big little girlās shoes. The bridesmaids all found very bling, pretty strappy silver sandals with little jewels down the straps. YD (whose partner has never seen her in a skirt or dress yet) was not able to come with us so we bought them without her. She would be in riding muckers or wellington boots if she had her way! Her face was a picture when she saw the barbie shoes but they were comfy so she is happy with that. ED got her wedding shoes which were very elegant and more fabric than leather so nice and soft with a little jewel dragonfly on the ankle strap. So I have dress, jacket, fascinator, 2 x shoes, pearl jewellery, grey bag. I think I just have to decide about my hair now and the rest is done. My hair is the biggest it has ever been and I canāt bear to chop it. I think I look like George Michael in the old wham videos ha ha. Has anyone else got a lot more hair now? I am about an inch away from a ponytail.
Well hope the week goes well for all of you. We break up for half term on Friday so looking forward to that.
Take care

xx
Hi all: have been having a read through everything ā Lorraine is really having a hard time isnāt she? Letās hope they can get the chemicals into her soon and they do some good.
Lily ā glad you got your shoes sorted. It was always the matched bits but I think now you can do what you like. It is always difficult getting coloured shoes and then finding a use for them afterwards. You do seem to have lots of appointments ā I am seeing my Onc on 15 March but am having problems with a horrific cough. I always get a cough in January but this one is awful ā have done the antibiotics and steroids but it is still bad. My GP thinks part of the problem could be damage to my right lung (it is all on the right side) by the rads. Oh joy, another thing to worry about. Iāve put a call into my Onc to ask the question and whether I should get an x-ray.
Lisa: shower sounds very sexy ā canāt bear getting into cold showers and then waiting for them to heat up.
We are off the Liverpool on Friday for a few days to celebrate 40th wedding anniversary ā yes sad puppies we were married on Valentineās Day. Wouldnāt choose that date again ā all the restaurants seem to think you want Valentine themed food ā every had a steak cut into the shape of a heart!!! We are managing to avoid special menus and Iāve been trawling through websites to find interesting places to eat.
Looks like the weather is going back to proper winter ā thought we had done with that. At least if you know it is going to be cold you know what to pack.
Take care everyone, mega hugs to Lorraine if you are reading this.

Hi all,
havenāt been on here for a few days and boy so much happens I canāt keep up.
Really sorry to hear that Lorraine is having such a horrible time really hoping that situation changes for her soon and she starts to feel better.
Lisa what a wonderful luxurious sounding shower you have I just love the idea of being able to lie in bed and start the shower off very James Bond style.
Lily so glad you had a good birthday and your students sound lovely! you certainly are having a lot of appointments is that due to the trials you took part in? I have had a bone density scan but still awaiting the results and this afternoon I am having a pelvic ultrasound as I am still having trouble with a discharge they are not sure whether my body may still be trying to have a period! aghhhh so god only knows what is going on but hopefully this will put my mind at rest.
Apart from that I thankfully am feeling much better and have returned to work I have to wear flight socks (really sexy) as I stand for hours and the ankle swells up otherwise but all in all feeling so much better. I still have another 5 weeks of physio which should really help.
Hubs is away in Birmingham at the NEC for the a few days so very quite here. I went out the other evening with a girlfried to see āitās complicatedā with Merly Streep and Alex Baldwin it is hilarious you must all go and see it. I was laughing so much and was even laughing the next day when I thought of it. Really worth a visit to the cinema for that one.
Glad to hear you had a fun time at the party Nicky it does you good to have a good bop about.
Peacock so sorry to hear about your friend life can be so difficult to deal with at times.
It is only bloody snowing here again in Kent aghhhh and it is settling WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH! and itās bloody cold. I shall have to be very careful when I go out so scared of falling over now and thatās without a drink!
love to all
