Hi,
good to hear you are on the up Daisy and enjoy every moment till the last one - can you believe how time has gone by? When do you think you will be back at school? Good to go back just before a holiday like autumn half term maybe?
Helen, Bev says yes please she wants to come to the ball too and was very excited about it. Sharon2 what do you think about us all getting pink wigs for the balls? Or have we had it with wigs?
Keep smiling everyone if you can

Hi All
Hope everyone is well and not melting too much in the heat. Well I have 2 more sessions of rads and then I am done with. Iāve been fine up until this week but Iām having the boosters and they are a bit more severe - throbbing boob, itchy and feels like my scar is going to burst at night - ouch! Just got to get this week over and hopefully itāll settle down. Still mustnāt moan it is not as tough as chemo!
Great news that Bev wants to come to the ball, providing Sharon2 still wants 2 tickets for her friends we now have a table of 10 - so tickets will be Ā£40 each. Iāll try and get hold of them before the next meeting on 15 July.
Not sure about the pink wig idea, Iām sick of the bloomin things! I have been really brave and ditched mine this weekā¦just too hot to bear! I look a bit butch but have had a few comments about how it suits me (sure they need glasses - ha!) I put a chemical free colour on it but it didnāt take so will have to do that again soon, I look a bit like Iāve got flea powder on my head - not really this seasons look!!
Flora and Sharon2, hope youāve both had good holidays and feel refreshed, Hello and send my love to everyone else

Hi,
Helen the rads continue cooking for about 12 days after the last one so do not suffer in silence. Mine really heated up from the day after I finished and I had to get some ācuresā. Tracey had boosters too so will probably be good for advice. Sorry I still havenāt done the letter, things go right out my head until I get on here and then too late to do it. I have had a lot of marking recently too.
Tracey hope number 2 had a nice birthday. She popped in to see if I would notice them sneaking in my maths class and looked like she was having a lovely day. Hi to everyone else, hope you are ok
Lily x
Hi all,
Helen, well done nearly there now! Yes I did get more sore from the boosters. I ended up with a flaking nipple! even now it still hasnāt recovered. Prof D said it will take time and just keep applying plenty of cream.
Lily, No.2 had a good day yesterday which I was pleased about as she seems to always be unwell lately. After her w infection she had gastritis and is on Ranitidine and Gaviscon for that. She also has some anxiety issues which GP is monitoring. Mr.E said she could do whatever she wanted yesterday and even allowed her to wear her xmas decorations as he call them! (jewellery). Plan is friends sleeping over in large tent in garden tomorrow night, but storms are forecast so they will probably end up inside.
Bloods were all fine at check up, tmās were 14. I wouldnāt worry about the 3 motnhly checks, I think heās taken pity on me how much time I spend in hospitals in one way or another!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather! I have been eating salads and fruit, and Iāve also been eating lots of ice creams, Soleroās being favourite at the moment.
Catch up with you all soon,
Tracey xx
Hi, hope everyone is OK and enjoying the great weather. Not sure if this is the right place for, not a āmoanā exactly but for sharing something that has made me feel a bit down. Some of my friends have been truely wonderful over the past few months and I will never forget their kindness. However, one fairly good (or so I thought) friend never visited (only 20mins away) and only rang about 3 times. After a 3 month silence I rang her a couple of weeks ago. She said sheād been very busy and made some remark (accompanied by nervous laughter)about being a terrible friend. Anyway, we met up for a drink yesterday eve and it was pretty hard work. No enquiries about how I was feeling/how treatment was going. Conversation was slow it was just so strange. I know people can find it hard to know what to say but I feel really sad that someone who I thought of as a friend didnāt seem bothered.
Sorry, moan over. Take care everyone.XX
Hi,
Tracey I wondered who pinched the last solero!! Glad she had a fab time and GET YOU, that is incredible tumour markers. WOW I think you are down to a non BC person with that. Fantastic so now you have to stop worrying as there is obviously nothing going on. Fab fab fab. B has been called about a recon and has to make a decision if she wants it or not. It is a long op. We need a meet for her to talk to everyone about it.
Sam I know how sad you must have felt because one friend (possibly more) dropped me like a hot coal. She even lied to a mutual friend and said she had just spoken to me and emailed! In fact she put off our last meeting, put off new dates and then totally ignored me. I had relatives do the same too and I am not letting them back in. You know who your nearest or dearest are and if you think about it, they are the ones you need to hang on to. Let this fair weather friend slip away because she obviously was not the person you thought. But I know how upsetting it is to be kicked when Bc already brought you to your knees. Big hugs matey

Greetings all
Had my scan, all is well with my bits. Nothing at all showed up, and, I have very dainty ovaries seemingly!
Back to See Prof D or Scary-Mary July 20th, planning July 28th, then being BBQād soon after.
I have been lucky with the support my friends have given me, they have been really great. My brother on the other hand has been a complete ******** you know what. Since dx in Dec, no phone calls, 2 emails (both asking me to do something for him!), and a comment on Facebook saying he didnāt want to see my picture as he wanted to remember me the way I was! What a muppet.
So glad itās cooled down a bit, much more bearable today. Mother-in-law down this weekend, anyone got a spare room I can rent til Sunday? She will drive me nuts. Millions of questions regardless of how personal or upsetting they are, and I will just have to lump it in order to play happy families. Itās times like this when I could do with getting sloshed!
Enjoy the weekend people and take care.
Daisy xx
Thankyou Lily, glad to know I am not aloneā¦ I am feeling a bit happier today. Took a whole school assembly for the first time since I have been back at work and it felt great. Have to say that some of the children at school (Primary) have been really lovely. Loads of āglad you are back missā and some hugs. They also love my new very curly hair. Take care.XX
Hi,
Sarn I am a tecaher too but at secondary level. It is tough going back I know as you canāt just have a boo when the mood takes you. Also I found it hard to only eat/drink/go to the loo at break times again. Even staying standing up instead of lounging on the sofa felt tough for a while. it is the kids that keep you going always. Well apart from he one that called me a silly cow this week when in a rage. She was out my room in 30 seconds to give us some space and then trotted back in with a mountain of work to apologise at the end.Whole school assemblies are tricky stuff when your confidence is low, well done. What was it about?
Daisy go girl go!! You are bombing along now, so pleased you are so far down the obstacle race. Fab that your scans were clear too and long may that last. I will just miss you as seeing the Prof (or a stand in?) on 23 July. Good luck with MIL and at least you have a good reason to take to your bed if you need to escape lol.
Tracey hope it is not too manic at yours with the party. Ha ha if they were anything like they were in my lesson you will be locking them out to get some sleep from all that laughing!! Helen canāt wait to see your new hair. One by one the dead ferrets get chucked away. Donāt blame you in this weather.
Hugs everyone
Lily x
Oh dear Lily, sorry to hear they were playing you up in class.
Well I have to be honest, they were all a pleasure to have they really were. They went to the cinema and saw My Sisters Keeper and came out in tears! not the cheeriest of films to see. All I heard from the garden was some giggling but otherwise very quiet. I had more of a disturbed night from O who rang to be picked up at 3am in a sozzled state from a party and insisted he had to have a kebab on the way home. The girls all cleared the tent and the garden this morning and went for a swim down the river and all were very polite and thanked me before leaving. A bit of a decision for B to make, quite happy to meet up and talk it over if it helps.
Sarn, sorry you felt let down by your friend, I think most of us have experienced this in one way or another. Thereās nothing like a crisis in life to sort out the wheat from the chaff is there. Like Lily says, I would let it go, but it still hurts I know.
Daisy, hope you are coping with MIL in this heat okay! and hope the se from last chemo are bearable for you.
Hi to Sharon, Flora, Helen, Julie and everyone else, hoping you are all well and see you all soon.
Tracey xx
HOT HOT HOT - sorry to shout ladies but that is how my boob is feeling right now, blistered nipple too!!!
I am piling on the cream and Prof D says itās fine but have been referred back to my consultant as I have a creamy white dryish sort of discharge coming from my nipple too (a bit like dried milk) - yuck!! Hope itās nothing to worry about, appointment is next Monday, wondered if it could be to do with the cyst that I had initially before the bc developed. Anyone experienced this?
Well mustnāt complain, rads are no finished - yippee! and my days are my own until school breaks up.
I have texted Sharon2, Lily and Julie about the ball in October as I only have their numbers. I now have the invitation for the ball and they require Ā£400 in total to secure the table. No booking is secured until they have all the money. So those of you that have said youād like to come along, if you could forward me Ā£40 cheque as soon as you can please, thatād be great. If you PM me then I can give you all the details. Thanks ladies.
Sarn, it is very sad when those that you consider āgood friendsā let you down, I have experienced this too. You are not alone, as sad as it is, lots of people ādonāt know how toā or ādonāt want to deal with itā. On the up-side Iāve got a neighbour who has astounded me with her kindness and concern and I will never forget that. I feel that I have gained a very special friend in her.
Daisy, brilliant news about the scans - phew!!
Hi to everyone else. Be good to see you all soon
Love Helen x
Hi,
Helen can I recommend the amazing āactiform coolā dressings for the hot boob as it will unfortunately increases over the next week and a half. They are gel and stay cool and are expensive but are specially made for rads treatment. Even my chemist had not heard of them. You will not believe how wonderfully they cool it down and they just grip the skin like those party feet gel soles for shoes. I have sent your message re the ball to Tracey, Sheila (and asked her to pass to A). Will see B tomorrow and pass it on.
Tracey no worries I have had 3 giggling girls myself so no surprises there. Just really keen for them to do well especially as yours has the potential to do really really well and donāt want the others to stop her. Sorry went all teachery there arggh I need a holiday!
Hi everyone else, are we all permanently under electric fans at night now ??
Lily x
Hi
I hope everyone is ok? I should see a few of you next Wed at Meeting,
Well Shelia I really hope you had a great holiday, and will be in touch,I am going away tomorrow with Penny and 2 others, to Warners again, at Corton, its Abba tribute on,so should be good.
Hi Helen , nice your finished it all now, hurray!I have lots of sores in mouth, mainly on tongue this time! About 4 or more, fed up with it, just got some liquorice as read its good for ulcers! ate quite a bit so will also end up on the loo too!
Boob still painful at times ,managed to see physio lady at Broomfield this pm and she said scares are healing lovely and look good! She had a breast reduction and said my scars were better than hers! wierd. anyway she said swelling was normal , as she has seen alot of reconstuctions and it should settle more after chemo finishes and gave me some exercises to help me!
Got scan on 28th for Brain,if still got one ! and planning is the 31st for radio t. Hope all is weel with you all .love juliexxxx
Itās my last chemo tomorrow ātra la la laāā¦bring it on!!!
Daisy xxx
Hi All
Daisy - good luck for tomorrow mate, itāll be the end of that rotten āchemo roadā by this time tomorrow night!!
Julie - Sorry to hear youāve got mouth sores, I was lucky enough to escape them. Have you tried Bonjela?
Lily - Thanks for the advice on my āhot boobā seems to be settling down a bit today though.
Saw my GP on Monday, it seems that Iāve got a bit of thrombosis in my chemo hand/wrist. He said itās nothing much to worry about and to leave it alone, rather than massage it etc. (Just another thing to deal with!)
Thanks for passing on āBall infoā on to those that I havenāt got their details. I didnāt want to leave it until next week in case you donāt all get to the meeting.
Keep well everyone
Love Helen x
Hi,
congraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatulations Daisy and hope the last public poisoning doesnāt hang around too long. Well done for getting to the end.
Julie have a lovely time , mm I like Abba too. Good that scars are starting to behave themselves and hope physio can help with the pain. Horrible! You mad me laugh about the brain, but seriously I know this will be bothering you so lots of luck and It will be good to get it over and done with.
Helen glad you are on the cool down now, a relief I am sure. Poor you about the wrist, is it sore? I passed info on to everyone I could and hope you got my cheque. Should we have matching masks so we can find each other?
Everyone else hi and enjoy the weekend
lily x
Oh yeah babyā¦no more chemo! Last one went well, no problems (so far!) Have felt a tad queasy with this one, but topped up my strong anti sicky tablets with one of the weaker ones and all is well.
My face, not just cheeks, are red raw, BUTā¦I have my āchillowā which is bliss. Popped it into a pillowcase and its brilliant. SO cooling, comfy and LOVELY!!! I think it will be a Brucie Bonus when it comes to RADS too. Well worth investing in one!
Hope everyone is well and looking after themselves.
Lots of love
Daisy xxxxx
