Flora said the flowers arrived and were fab and she feels she is in a flower shop. Everything went well, in fact she is feeling a bit of an improvement already 
Sharon2, I have got another hairdressing voucher. Knew I would be ok to ask when I saw the manager wearing a head scarf herself. Tracey will get back to you re letters but hubby only has b & w printer so need to go elsewhere.
Lots of big and very big clothes at very low prices in BHS if anyone is interested. Not all big! Got a linen skirt for £6.60 and YES that one was big

Well had 6 rads, a bit red but normal amount nurse said.not seen Prof D yet, hope to next week, Hope your getting on ok sharon too,My back seems to be more painful since rads and wearing a crop top vest thing which seems to help! Do hope everyone is ok,

Sad news that B’s friend with BC passed away and it has upset her greatly as you can imagine. It is her daughter’s best friend’s Mum so a lot to deal with for the 2 girls as well. It shakes everyone up around. Funeral is B’s first day back so that is stressful too, as they are not very understanding.
Daisy and julie hope you are managing the trip every day. There is a fantastic garden centre and cafe with enormous cream scone teas at Tiptree if you go back on the old road - well worth a visit
Sharon2 I have just re-discovered my headed HR paper so I have some printed ready to post. Might hand deliver some as Helen said they respond better face to face. Tracey I will call about the envelopes or are you free to pop over?

Afternoon all
All ok with me, zapping no 7 today and so far so good. Not even a hint of pink. I am sure at some point thought they will turn into ‘Pinky & Perky!’ The journey is the worst bit for me, but I have been lucky enough to have a different buddy take me everyday, so fresh chit chat on a daily basis has been good.
Saw Prof Sauven Monday, and glad to say I don’t need to go back there to see him until Feb next year, that cheered me up. Seeing Nev or Scary Mary at London Road Sept 28th, then that’s that!
Bone density scan has come through for the last day of RADS, fingers x that will be my last hospital visit for sometime.
All well on Tamoxifen and Zoladex, but again, it’s early days, so I may have nasties about to bite me on the bum very soon!
Hair is growing very quickly, a mixture of brown and errrr…blonde…ok…grey! Just wish my head would stop itching, if I had hair, I would have convinced myself I had nits.

well abit quiet on the Essex front! I have sent off all my fundraiser letters and spoke to a few people in high street shops too. Some shops say they have to go through head office or have just one charity they deal with but hope I will get a response from quite a few. I went in a tombola today and picked out 2 tickets and won a bottle of Bucks Fizz and a bottle of The Famous Grouse so one of them can go in the raffle. Not bad for £1 for charity. I was actually trying to win a small cuddly dog for my Grandson!
Good luck you rads ladies as you go into double figures and be vigilant with the cream as it is easier to keep it calm than it is to recover once you get toasted if you forget too often.
Back to work this week arggh.

Sharon2 - I have sold all my ten tickets, can I keep going?? Only I have at least another possible 10 wanting to come!
Lily - If they get rid of me I am really not that bothered, the kids should come first but they clearly don’t. That really upsets me. so maybe a job at another school where the kids DO come first would be best. I find out Oct 5th if I am redundant or not, but they are not getting rid of people until April 1st. My sick pay runs out January and I had planned to go back in November, but if I am being laid off, then I will remain off until Jan.
7 zaps left, yippee! Skin is fine, although I do get a bit uncomfy under my arm every now and then. Tamoxifen and Zoladex have been very kind to me, so far…
Chocolate evening sounds interesting…when’s our next meal?

Hello everyone, I am on a high at moment as I had my first win as a football manager today which is very exciting!. On the other hand I have my 3 monthly check up on Thursday so am feeling a bit wary.
Glad to hear the zapping is going well Daisy and it is surprising how quickly the time goes by. Yes, you can sell more. If you can sell another 10 that would be good and I will photocopy and change the numbers on the tickets. It is hard to believe it is only a few weeks away. Has anyone got any more prizes?? we do need to meet up son so I can collect monies gathered etc. I have changed the menu in order to cater for the veggies that will be attending. Am nervous but looking forward as well.
Moonshine, if you can phone Benefit make up and say you are fund raising for Audrey Appleton Trust as they have recently donated a large prize to HRHCT so cannot help us at this mo.
Sheila, my cold has gone so will come and see you this week if that is ok. I hope you are still keeping well.

Well I am pleased to say I have only 2 more zaps to go! Its been fine , a little red but not much so far! Femera seems ok , just seem to be tearful at the moment though so may be the tablets,although Prof D said alot of ladies feel like that around now and nurse too.
I have a film on about 9/11 ,it must have been so terrible for those poor people,its very upsetting to watch so will go of to bed i think now,
I have i hope sold my tickets 10, but no more takers as yet! although need to get the money in i hope,
I am hoping I can get some raffle prizes as have hand delivered 8 and posted 12, just waiting or the calls!

Sharon 2 congrats! I have had people say yes to tickets but no money handed over yet so will have to get on to that. I sent about 40 or more letters and am waiting for replies. One def from hairdresser and Manor Farm will give us a basket of fruit if I can find a basket. Anyone got one? Central heating man opposite will give a free boiler service. I am donating a giant Teddy, a little teddy, a bottle of champagne and a bottle of whisky I won and don’t want. Lets meet and discuss things, how about next week? I can do mon, wed, thurs I think. Haven’t been online for a while, my pc has been playing up and after a very wet week in Devon, I returned to work last week! It’s all been happening…went to see my consultant today about the lump that has come up uner my scar and he thinks its scar tissue or a small cyst - very big ‘Phew!!!’
Hope everyone is ok, had a quick browse through your comments and have text Julie and Daisy so know the rads are going ok…nearly there.
For the Pink Party, I’ve got a hairdressing voucher, house clean voucher, fruit box delivered to your door, £20 meat voucher, rucksack, glass dish, biscuits & jam gift, waiting on a couple of others that have said to call back, they include a drycleaners voucher, a pottery painting session and possibly a day spa at Greenwoods. I’m still chasing so hopefully be some more!
Haven’t sold many tickets though, most of my friends seem to have plans already or are away which is a pain. Hopefully the girls at work will let me know next week.
When are we meeting up? Can someone text me please (preferably a day or so before so I can get a babysitter) as the computer has been a bit dodgy lately and I might not be able to get online, I’d hate to miss out meeting up.

Sharon2 I texted you as I have an idea for the do but no reply so guess you are busy. Can we fix a date for next week and celebrate rads finishing and talk the pink fundraiser. I hope Flora might feel up to joining us as she is fair bombing along now. You will be amazed in the change but it seems ferrets might be coming back in fashion, which is a shame!

I got free family days out for 5 people at Old Macdonalds farm - my first letter reply today Regarding the tickets Daisy what would happen if they were ill and pulled out. I have had to pay 50.00 deposit for the caterer so would like this back.Helen’s brother’s boss is donating 250.00 to our cause which is excellant. The nurse today thinks it won’t be long before my skin starts to split. - FAB! So, providing I am not in too much pain on Monday, count me in. I don’t think the diners would want me sitting there topless do you?

Hi daisy it sounds very painful and my thoughts are with you. I have asked Helen Rollason Centre to print more tickets so that sounds good. If the cheques could be made payable to Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity I believe but will double check and can be sent to you if you like.
I had my check up today with oncologist and was talking how tired I am what with waking up with hot flushes and now working not a good combination. Dr S went to talk to prof who said come off tamoxifen for 2 months and then have a bone and ct scan to see if everything is alright and the hot flushes have gone. My liver function is also not good so have said I would abstain from alcohol to see if that helps!!! She did say it could be the tamoxifen as it has to go through the liver and I could be sensitive so will have to wait and see.

oh Sharon well glad you were ok but I am sure all these things will be playing on your mind. Try to keep calm about it if you can as the prof would not say to do this if it was a problem.
Daisy you must demand actiform-cool dressings. Not many docs, etc have heard of them but they are made especially for rads burns and they are really good, so cool and promote healing. You won’t believe the relief when you put one on, thought I was in heaven.My skin actually smelt burnt if I touched so know just how it feels, yoweeee Good luck x. I am.

Hope you are all ok, sorry to hear you are suffering Daisy. I’m sure you are very anxious about coming off Tamoxifen, Sharon2, but i’m sure the Prof wouldn’t consider it if he was unsure. I have been suffering with insomnia terribly too so can sympathise with you.
Well, this Pink Party is getting quite exciting, yesterday my brother’s boss donated a cheque for £250, today I’ve had a call from Greenwoods Spa and they are sending me a day’s spa voucher and then I had a text from a friend that works in David John and her boss is donating £35 of hair & beauty vouchers plus a load of lovely hair products… then I opened the post to find a £50 voucher from the Lion Inn. It feels like Christmas! I haven’t sold all my tickets yet but I do know that cheques can definitely be made payable to HRHCC (Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity).
Would be good to meet up, I am ok for Monday evening. If everyone could let me have the names of the companies that have donated, I can email them to HR and one of the ladies has kindly agreed put them on a board so that we can acknowledge and thank these companies. Sharon2, please don’t worry we will all be there for you to help out in whatever way we can.
