Well it’s 3 hours since the poison was pumped in and I’m still feeling remarkably well, got my tablets all lined up in readiness though! I had the reflexology and was half asleep as they started dosing me up so I was very relaxed about it all - had a very sleepless night last night though so going to have a snooze this afternoon.
Good luck on Thurs MissM hope it goes well for you.
xx

Hi,
well done Avis first one done and dusted. Now just see off the side effects then you can enjoy the time until the next. Keep a note of what you feel and when so you can organise the other months, especially Christmas more easily. In particular note when you get constipated (if you are on one that does this and not the runs) and then you will know when to start the senna and tons of fruit part. You really have no idea how it blocks you until it happens - like quick drying cement and you can get into bother quite quickly. Half my chemo I had constipationa nd the other half I had the runs non-stop. Not sure which is worse to be honest. Anyway i hope you side effects are not too bad and take it easy and nurse yourself.
Missm what wigs did you get. Hope you had fun choosing them, I had a real giggle when I went for mine. Lots of luck for Thursday and hopefull hearing such positive comments from avis will help you feel a bit more settled about going. The unknown is often worse than the real thing. Good leck and we all know exactly how you are feeling and will be holding your hand in cyber space on Thursday.
Everyone else can anyone work out a day to have dinner and where to go? Julie gosh you seem to be busy!Hi Helen are you better?
Daisy hope you enjoyed your trip to see your Father. Did he like my pink quiz? Sharon2 how are you matey? Tracey too are you over your cough? Flora you must be getting into serious % now
See you soon

Had 2 bouts of sickness last night - my own fault as the tablets were downstairs and I was upstairs and when I started to feel a it sicky I left it half an hour or so before going down to get them! But was fine after about an hour, slept fairly well (probably better than I do when I’m ‘normal’) and have had breakfast and feeling fine today so still not too bad.
Thinking of you on Thursday MissM, are you going to post a profile pic of your wigs? I’m going to do it when my hair goes as if I try to wear the wigs at the moment my own hair sticks out of the bottom no matter how I try to net it or pin it. She made it look so easy in the shop too it’s obviously a skill I haven’t got!
xx
Hi avis,
sorry to hera that and hope it has not happened again. Tell them when you go next time and it may be you need to time your anti-sickness tablets better for those days or have stronger ones. Do ask
Good luck missm, soon have your first one ticked off and be an expert

Hi everyone
One down- 5 to go. So far so good but just starting to feel a bit weak. It’s been a long day and I didn’t finish my treatment until 6 o’clock as they were short staffed. Hope you are still OK Avis. Thanks for the good advice and words of encouragement Lily.
Keep well.

Hi everyone and welcome to avis and missm hope I got your names right! Since chemo my memory is not the same. Glad to hear the first chemo sessions are out the way - I remeber how you must feel. I finished chemo at the end of Feb. You will soon get used to wearinf the wigs and even quicker you will feel used to not wearing them when your hair starts to grow.

well done for getting through the first one missm must have been a nightmare being there that late, I was lucky my appointment was 9o/c so nice and early. I’m still feeling a bit queasy but not too bad but sleeping - what’s that! just can’t seem to sleep for more than 4 or 5 hours at night and then doze for half an hour or so during the day!
Would love to come to the Xmas gathering but my second session is on the 15th so don’t think it will be possible this time, maybe the next one.
Thanks to everyone for your support - it helps such a lot.
xx
Hope you are all doing ok. I’ve been quite busy lately and not found the time to post.
It would be lovely to see everyone but I don’t think I can do any of the dates suggested. I have a few meals to go to, plus I am doing things with my daughter and taking her to the Olympia horse show too. On top of all that I had a small lump removed from my eyelid a couple of weeks ago and thought it was just a cyst but it turns out it is a small cancerous tumour! More dread and terror as you all know!! So, I am going back in on Monday to have a bit more of my eyelid taken away and won’t have the stitches out for a couple of weeks so that is interferring with my plans. Good news is, there is no more treatment though once it is removed.
Anyway hope you manage to get a date together for the meal, if not I’ll see you in January.
Take care everyone, good luck to those of you on chemo at the moment.
Love Helen x

Ohh MissM I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been so poorly - I seem to have got off very lightly, after being sick the first night I was just queasy for 3 days then had heartburn for a couple of days and from day 6 was feeling fine. Caught a stomach bug this week and was laid up a couple of days but nothing to do with the chemo - my husband had it too and was ill for the same length of time I was. Got one more week then back I go again, I’m hoping the reflexologist is there again at least that’s something to look forward to!
Hi,
you ladies on chemo, I have been talking to another lady on here starting chemo this month at Broomfield, someone to look out for. I am sorry to hear you were yuk. I was never sick or even close but on different chemo to you. Not sure if it was luck or vigilance with the anti-sickness but I do have a strong stomach. You must tell them when you go in and get more or stronger tablets for it as they start you off with cheapies and work up. Also think about having a full tummy to line your stomach before chemo. It will get your stomach lining if you are empty. It sounds odd but for many people stodge beforehand helps. Also get ranitidine or similar for the heartburn, it works really quick. I had 42 prescriptions while on chemo as I was always getting odd symptoms. It always attacked my tongue and one time had to take 14 thrush tablets in a row as I got it all the time but not in the mouth or where you usually get it. It gave me terrible acid.
Daisy how is the new job going? Do you get all the moaning parents to sort out or are you spared that ? Enjoy the concerts. Julie hope the hand is improving and your pains and your Mum - and moan all you like :). Helen thanks for the text, I did try to ring and you brave brave girl, well done. Shout if I can help at all or if you want a chat or meet.
Sharon and Tracey where are you? Hoping you are busy and ok. Meeting between Christmas and the New Year sounds good to B and myself as it is manic at school. Everyone far too excited to think about anything except Christmas ans secret santas. Flors hope you continue to be ok each week, will pm you.
Miss you guys
Lily x
Thanks for all your kind messages, had my eye done yesterday - horrific experience but hopefully over now. I get the histology report next monday when I have the stitches out. Fingers crossed that’ll be ok. My first mammogram tomorrow, not looking forward to being squeezed and flattened but guess it has to be done.
Sorry to hear you poor ladies on chemo are having a rough time, I have to say I was very sick but in the end I gave up with the anti-sickness tablet as they made me so constipated. Each time I was sick I felt in my head that I was getting rid of the poison so dealt with it in that way. Lily’s advice about a full stomach is true, I used to fancy bizarre things but obviously my body needed them (bit like being pregnant).
Hope everyone is ok, it would be lovely to see you all between xmas and new year although I have a few plans. Tracey & Sharon - I joined facebook and ‘friends requested’ you but then dis-engaged myself as I had to many emails - sorry!
Hope to see you soon, I miss you all too!
Love Helen x
