Have sent traceyrainbow a PM…

Hi,
hope everyone is well and Tracey that your youngest is better now, must arrange a meet up, haven’t seen you for ages. I had a lovely meeting with Mr S and what a charmer he is. I could jump ships for him and I laughed all the way through my appointment. He tells me I will probably live forever so might as well have some neatening up if I want it. Can you believe the side effect of a cancer dx is becoming immortal? What a thing to say but I like his style, upbeat and very smiley. Guess it will be a shock to go back to the deadpan Prof team who are sweet but don’t make me laugh. I am hoping I might see the Prof as I am expecting to have my tablets reviewed. Mind you he will do his own thing as usual and probably ignore me! Has anyone got appointments this month? Flora good luck for Friday and sorry I forgot to top up your sweet supply. Will try harder to remember next time. My Mum is hooked on them too now and keeps eating all mine.
Hope you are all ok

Happy New Year everyone! Let’s hope this year will be a good one.

Glad to hear your appointment went well Lily. It makes all the difference when someone is upbeat and makes you laugh doesn’t it?

Good luck with chemo on Friday Flora, be thinking of you.

I’ve got to see my consultant Monday 11th at C&E hospital, still haven’t had my mammogram results - guess they’ll make me wait until then. Having the stitches out of my eye later today so that’s one thing I can cross off my list.

take care & keep well

Hi Can I join this group please.

I live in Billericay

I have just been dx with recurrent BC 1st time was nov 2007, when i had WLE chemo and rads, this time dx was 15 dec last year. Waiting for a mastectomy which has just been delayed due to an infection, it should have been tomorrow

Linda

Linda - welcome! Bit of a bummer getting booby bother again! Are you going to Broomfield or Queens? Lets hope the infection clears up soon and you can be on your way to getting things sorted.

I have my check up with Nev, 21st Jan, mammagram 3rd Feb, the lovely Prof S 22nd Feb. I assume I will get the results then of the tit-vice-experience, sorry, I mean mammagram!

All good with me, I have even managed to find a nurse at the surgery than can give the Zolodex implant relatively painfree. Back to work today, but is quiet as the Y11’s are on work exp, and the 6th form are just a delight.

Hair is racing back, but is so curly and swirly. It looks like a wet look 80’s perm mixed with a walnut whip/99 ice cream! Not happy to go without headwear at the moment, another month maybe. My hair is growing in every direction!

Hope everyone is well, good luck Helen.

Hi again

I had my 1st op and chemo all at the Hartswood in Brentwood. The Rads was at the Queends, this op is going to be at the Nuffield.
Provisionally booked for 18th or 20th January.

Just want it over and done with now

Hi,
Diamond how did the stitches appintment go? Hoping it was not too scarey and you can forget about it all now. Poor you. Daisy I think I am going to see Nev that day too, hopefully before you get in there gassing to him ha ha! Lindsyloo hi and poor you, that is not long between having to have more done. Did they pick this one up in a mammo? I don’t live very far from you as on the great Baddow side of Chelmsford. I guess you will be tied up for a while after the op but do come and meet us when you can, if you would like to. We have one lady who has had a recon and 2 more planning it this year. Lots of luck with the op and keep us posted how you are.
Everyone else hi and first day back at work oh yuk it was cold.
Take care

Hi

Thanks Lily - stitches came out yesterday. He gave me some numbing drops and did the biz without any pain, and best of all, he discharged me - yippee!

Welcome Lindsyloo, sorry you have to go through this again. Hope you get over this infection and get your op out of the way very soon. The waiting around is the worse bit.

Thanks for your good wishes Daisy, well they say the 80s are back so be brave and ditch the wig. Mind you, it’s so cold out at least the wig is keeping you warm.

Hope everyone else is ok, take care
Love Hx

HI everyone,

Mr S is sooooooooo gorgeous. I saw his underling and stripped off and then when I mentioned recon they went adn got him so stripped off again! My ALT was slightly more raised but surgeon not too bothered so will see what prof’s team say in April.

Hello everyone else and we must meet up soon as Christmas did not take palce.

Hope everyone is well and lets hope 2010 is a better year for evryone

Lots of love sharon2 xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi
Sharon it wasn’t me. I did see her but was too busy chatting to him to have a conversation with her  Someone else must have been there too. Do you think we should switch docs then ha ha. Love to arrange something once we know if we are going to be snowed in or not. Would you like to celebrate me turning the big you know what with a zero on the end?
Take care and sorry liver wotsit is still not behaving. He wasn’t worried from what you said so hope that reassures you

Lily - my appt is 10.50, I intend to see Nev this time and not his miserable side kick Sonia. She kept me waiting over 2 hours then thought she could hurry me out of her office super pronto - WRONG! She kept me waiting, so I kept her waiting by asking lots and lots of questions, and when I shut up, hubby started with his. So when I check in, I will speak to a nurse before leaving my slip in the tray.

Linda - good luck for the op!
Helen - fab news on the eye, well chuffed for you.

It is way too cold to go head naked at the mo, and the hair really is shocking! A few more weeks I think then I will dare to bare!

Was sent home from work today at 11.40, talk about chaos, sending ALL the kids home at 11.30 was a nightmare. Parents everywhere, no where to park, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… Not sure about tomorrow, Head hasn’t made up his mind.

Speak soon…Daisy x x x x

Hi girls
thanks for the warm welcome

although its anything but warm outside, I dont do the cold very well.
I went into work today, Dr did say she would sign me off but I would be bored silly for the next two week.

Well tomorrow I have to see the anaethatist, and I worry about being put to sleep than anything else, I worry I will not wake up!. Plus I am at risk of DVT because I had one when I was on chemo, and being on the table for any length of time is another risk factor.

It would be grt to meet some of you when I am back on my feet so to speak

love to all
Linda

Hi everyone,
Daisy I am in at 9.30 so no doubt will still be sitting outside still when you arrive. You better hope I don’t keep them chatting ha ha!I will have my first menopausal results and hope to discuss changing to an aromatase inhibitor so not sure if I would need to see Nev. Why do you need to see him, are you ok? It is one heck of a lot of blood tests this time, seems like everything except pregnancy and vasectomy is ticked lol.I have never seen Sonia. I was cheesed off that school was not closed and then they decided to close ours almost as soon as we got there so only had period one and then crawling back home again. Bad as lots of blue light ambulances coming out the hospital next door and had to keep trying to drive up the pavement to let them through. I am sick that our school is not on the closed list for tomorrow and will be hoping for an early call from the emergency tree phone line. Hi Julie and you get an appointment sent automatically from London road for annual mammos. Mine was one year from my operation date. I only had one breast op but someone else siad theres was on the anniversary of finishing surgery as they had to go back in for more. I will be on my 2 year one in April and still hate having them. How bad do you feel about us going to work ? Bad enough to stand in ha ha! Enjoy your time at home and keep us posted on your next appointment.
Good luck Lindsyloo with your appointment and be sure to tell them all your concerns so they can hopefully remove some of your worries. Several of the others can’t have various things because of previous problems, you are in good company with us lot. We all manage to have something go wrong with us!
Hi everyone else
Lily x

Lily - I only want to see Nev as she cheesed me off big time and I got the impression she would be more interested in a cheese sandwich than me, her patient! Apart from her, not a single appointment has been unpleasant and I don’t intend to have another. So, if you are not out of Nev’s by 10.50, I will knock on the door and pull up a chair!

No school today, but they are expecting to open Friday, I am not going to chance going down my driveway, hubby couldn’t get up the drive yesterday and is parked in a nearby side road.

On a happier note, my NY resolution is to get back into comping as I had been out of the loop for a year…guess what…I have won a holiday. Off to Tenerife Feb half term, all four of us. I have been a comper for many years and know all the scams and this isn’t one. I have won many holidays and intend to win more, and another telly and tickets for the World Cup…

Love to all. Daisy x x x x x x x x xx

Hi ladies, good to see so many of you on-line again.

Julie, my mammogram was a year from my surgery date. Still waiting for the bloomin’ results (10 Dec) hopefully my consultant will have them for me on Monday.

Daisy, well done on winning the holiday. I’m off to Tenerife in April. Good luck with your appointment.

Likewise for you Lily, good luck for your appointment. By the way are we meeting up to help you celebrate that special birthday of yours? If so, let us know when.

Lindsyloo, I had a DVT followed by a pulmonary embolism (clot on the lung)7 years ago and told them prior to my surgery, the anaesthetist was fabulous, they put my legs and feet into these robotic type of velcro boots that pumped my legs continously, one at a time during the surgery and following the surgery when I was still in bed. Only one problem when you need a wee in the night and you have to disengage yourself from the contraption - you get in a bit of a pickle but it’s better to be safe! Where are you having your surgery? - I had mine at Springfield Medical Centre. Not sure if all hospitals have these but it might be worth investigating.

Flora, hope it went ok for you today, not the best weather to be going out in, hope you got there ok.

Take care all, keep warm & well in the snow
Love Hx

Hi ladies
Good to catch up on all your news. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year.
I had my third FEC yesterday so I’m half way through. No sickness this time as I was given a new drug call Emend- It worked a treat and I feel almost human today. Now only 3 lots of Tax and radiotherapy to get through. Roll on April.
Keep well everone.
XM

Hi Diamond

I am having the robotic boots on, I am going into Nuffield at Brentwood on Monday morning EEEKK

Mr Collier and Mr Ramikrishnan are my surgeons and Dr Oakey is putting me under, he is the important one as far as I am concerned the other 2 can get on with it,
