February 2026 chemo starters

Thank you @joodles and yes I will be calling mine at 8am tomorrow, typical these things happen at the weekend when they only work Mon-Fri. I think that they will need to do the same for me as its uncomfortable now and I am walking around with my hand on my hip as by my side its not comfortable. Crossing fingers they can fit me in tomorrow :crossed_fingers:

@sam1204 I was chatting to a woman in chemo a few weeks back and she had no hair, brows or lashes but she said the tache would just not let go!

Just catching up before my surgery tomorrow. Single mastectomy, lymph node removal and skin graft from thighs to cover the breast as I’ve got secondary spots so the breast skin can’t be used. I’ve been rather anxious so it will be good to get it done.

Quick question for Feb starters. has anyone’s eyelashes started to put in a reappearance yet? I can cope without the hair and eyebrows till those decided to do something but the lack of eyelashes is driving me nuts. I cannot use fake eyelashes thanks to very reactive skin.

My eyebrows and eye lashes are sparse & I finished chemo 6 weeks ago @wibbles

I haven’t posted for a while, hope everyone is doing OK. I had a lovely break in June from appointments so I stepped back from the forums for a while. I almost felt ā€œnormalā€.

I’ve started radiotherapy on Monday, 15 sessions in total so far so good.

I have a full head of hair, it’s starting to get wavy and is far too grey for my liking :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. It’s very strange seeing myself with short hair, it’s the one thing I want back more than anything is longer hair

@sam1204 I’ve been monitoring my resting heart rate and it’s creeping back down to pre chemo levels gradually :slightly_smiling_face:. Goodness knows what will happen when I start all the ongoing meds next month.

Thankyou for replying, will try not to get my hopes up of eyelash returning too soon. Wish I could use stick ons but so glad l need glasses to see.

In a word: nope. I didn’t have a lot of eyebrows or eyelashes before but I think I have a total of 3 eyelashes on each lid. I’ve had a couple of styes too which are very annoying. I wouldn’t have the first idea how to use fake eyelashes either. I’m going to a Look Good Feel Better session next weekend, hopefully they might be able to show me how to look more normal.

@wibbles mine are back, started about 3-4 weeks after end of chemo and grew fast. There is hope!

@trixie17 same here. Mine is back to where it was before chemo, which is a relief. Just goes to show the stress it was putting us under . Glad you’re doing well

@wibbles a lot of ppl on socials who have been through chemo have recommended using UK lash serum , there are other brands. I am going to try it.

Morning @sam1204 …. resting bpm is something that I’ve found fascinating!!:joy: …. pre all of this, I was about 60 as an average …. my first 12-weeks of weekly treatment, my average was 72 and now I’m into EC it’s 82 average ….. I’m interested to see what the drop will be come-August when treatment finishes!! :growing_heart::growing_heart:

Thank you for that suggestion. Will check with my oncologist when it may be safe to skin test it as my skin has been throwing its Dollie’s out of the pram over everything since chemo started.
