Feeling low

Hi girls,

Just a quick one as I’ve been in London today (went to Drs with my Dad) and I’m tired and ready for bed.

Alison, great news! Whereabouts in the South are you? I go for treatment at St Mary’s in London but live in Sussex.

M1yu, hope you have a nice day tomorrow, I’m sure your work friends will be pleased to see you.Yes thats the right me on FB, have added you.

Roz you made me laugh re the chimney, I could just picture the scene!I wouldn’t worry about the neighbours though, mine think I’m a headcase.

Dianne, was appalled by your story of pharmasist, good for you standing up for yourself! Glad tablets are sorted now and that you had a good time with hairdresser.

Mary yes they are my sisters, we’re pictured in order from edest(& biggest!)to youngest.Sorry you’re still a bit low, the weather doesn’t help, but glad the pain in hip is wearing off.

Anne your caravan looks smashing and your pics of the views were great.I’m so glad that the se’s aren’t too bad, and that you’re being a good girl and resting when necessary!Glad someone got some nice weather today!

Nicola hope all is well. I think you were due to start zometa or had an appt this week? Hope whatever it was went ok.

I said this was going to be a quick one and look at me nattering on! Off to bed now, goodnight xx

Hi Lovely ladies,

Mary,Thanks for the tip about doing the message on word then copy and paste, didnt think of that, but will do in future. I am pleased your hip is feeling a bit better, it could just have been one of those things but we always relate any niggle to this bloody disease, if it comes back please get it checked, better safe than sorry. Dont think I could wait an hour before eating my cornflakes, I clock watch for the half hour to pass with the bowl in front of me.

Dianne, Well Fairyland sounds very interesting, I will ask my grandaughter to have a look as she is coming to sleep tonight, dont know if she will get in the bed mind as the room is full of the lounge stuff!!!

m1yu, Your onc does seem to change his mind a bit, but that must mean that he has your best interests at heart, I had my zometa every 4 weeks, think that is the norm.

Well I must have pressed something wrong as my message got submitted before I had finished, so will carry on. Oh MY GOODNESS just seen that the message has been submitted three times, I am sooo sorry, I will defo have to do the copy and pasting!!!

Ann, Glad Super Break was of some use to you, it does make it easier to talk to someone.Pleased to know my husband is not the only perfectionis in the land, he is like it with everything, especially painting as he is a painter and decorator by trade, but dont get me started on cars!!!

JulieD, Hope you had a positive app with your dad, and you are now rested up.

Well the chimney got swepted, and yes the brushes came out the top, later in the night I found some black hard soot in my hair. He has also sorted the very small crack in the ceiling, opened it up, filled it and taped it, doesnt look any differant to me, and is now painting. Im keeping out the way.

Hi Girls,

Well my hip is still playing me up, it did ease a bit,but gave me gyp in bed last night, and is still quite painful, so took your advice, and rang the onc’s sec, she has just got back to me, and the onc wants to see me on Wednesday, usually it’s a job to get to see him, so I am really concerned now,as I suspect that it is the BC, we shall see!

Julie that journey to London is so tiring, I had to do that when my dad was alive, and was knackered every time, hope you have had a good rest!

Anne hope you are well today, and the se’s are wearing off a bit!

Roz get pasting and copying, I’m glad the girls put me right on that, it used to be an nightmare!!! I keep well out of the way, when my husband is decorating as well, he just hates it, and doesn’t everyone know!!! Soot in your hair…that’s lucky!!! {I just made that up LOL!!} Enjoy the time with your granddaughter!

M1yu,Dianne,Nicola and Alison, hope all well with you!

Thinking of you all, lots of love, Mary xx

Hi girls,

Anne, take it easy at work, hope tiredness does wear off and continue to have no other se.

Julie, hope you’ve recovered from your trip to London.

Rozvi, try the copy and paste. Very annoying when losing a long post. Triple submission seems to be caused by slow website. Have seen a few of them lately.

Mary, sorry about your hip. Sounds like we both have a nervous wait for next Wed!!! Hold hands and support each other. Hope you’re taking some pain killers for now to keep your mind off it. Will be thinking of you when I go in. What time is your appt? Mine is at 2.30, but will go in at 2 for line clean first. My onc is always late… just add more stress.

Dianne, so glad you’ve got your tables.

Everyone else, hope you’re all doing fine and have a nice weekend.

xx

Hi M1yu,

My appt is at 11.30. but my onc is always running late!!

I will be with you as well, and holding your hand! I am not sure if I will have much to report, I suspect he may send me for a scan,so it will be more waiting!!

Hoping and praying that your results are good, you deserve some good news!!

Take care, and have a good weekend, anything planned?

Lots of love Maryxxx

HI Mary and M1yu, fingers crossed for you both for your apps next week, was sorry to hear your hip is still no better but it is good to get it looked at, it might be nothing but that wont stop you worrying. Love the idea about the soot being lucky, I pass it on to you both.

So hope ALL you ladies have a great bank holl weekend, and forget about BC for an hour or two, a glass or two of wine should do the trick. ALL my love Roz xxxx

Hi girls

Mary I am so sorry your hip is giving you jip and I know it’s scary getting a quick appointment but it’s about time our onc at up and took notice of you. I will keep everything crossed for you and we are all holding your hand on Wednesday. Good to get it over and done with and – get something for the pain!! Thinking of you.

Julie – hope you got a good rest after your tiring trip and your folks are getting on ok.

Dianne – hope you having good weekend and are getting out and about.

Roz – hope you had a nice time with your granddaughter and didn’t loose her in the bedroom!! Youngest’s 21st pressie all done and dusted now – that you Roz, super break were really helpful. Yep my husband is total perfectionist he is dissecting every aspect of the caravan at the moment, books, forums, leaflets – has to know exactly how everything works. Me – as long as I flick a switch and it goes – I’m happy!!! You know what I mean Roz!! I’m with Mary soot in your hair sounds lucky.

M1yu thinking of you too and holding your hand on Wednesday. I think all onc’s are late and you are right it doesn’t help. I once waited 3 hours for a 10.15 appointment!! Hope you find something to keep you busy the next few days and enjoyed your visit to work on Friday.

I am definitely less tired and at work today and Sunday, day shift. Not been too busy thankfully but will be glad to get home. Radiography scan on Monday and letter to arrange a CT scan as well – oh the joys!! Chemo free week next week so hope to enjoy it.

Lots of love and hugs to everyone on the thread and hope you having good weekend. Glass or two of wine sounds lovely!!

Anne x x

Hi Anne,

Thanks for the good wishes, I am still in pain, but it is a bit more bearable today. I had the flu like symtoms again, but that has worn off too! I don’t hold out much hope that this isn’t bc,so am feeling quite low and scared at the moment,so it is the old waiting game again!

I am glad you were well enough to go to work, but you mustv’e been very tired at the end of the shift, hope the se’s are wearing off a bit, and you have a quiet day at work!!

Hope all my other lovely friends, are having a good weekend, although the weather is terrible here, and it’s ashame as the localpub, are putting on a charity do for cancer,so hope it improves a bit!!

Thinking of you all, lots of love, Mary xxx

Afternoon lovely ladies,
m1yu, Think you must be right about the triple submission being down to the slow website as it did take ages to get logged on. will keep fingers crossed for your appointment next wed.

Mary, will be thinking of you at 11.30 on wed. Sorry to hear your hip is still troubling you today, the weather here is not to good either, hope you made it to the pub and they had a good turnout.

Ann, I am so pleased that superbreak was of use to you and your daughters surprise is ready to be sprung. I know you are at work today and hope it is not to busy and tireing for you. What do you do? Good luck on monday, enjoy your free week. I know just what you mean, I sometimes find myself not listening at times when he is telling me how things work which is naughty, but it is prob something he has told me a thousand times, do you think he knows I am not listening!!!

Mary/Ann, Yes had a lovely night with my eldest grandaughter she is 11 and going up to secondary school in september, they grow up to fast for my likeing. She got in the bedroom after a little adjustment of the furniture much to her gramps wareing looks. We played on our DS’s, didnt realise you could play them together and she beat me, mind you I was to busy eating the choc ice cream she brought with her.

Have a lovely bank holl mon, lots of love Roz xxxx

Hi girls!

Hope you are having good Bank Hol weekend. The weather hasn’t been as good as they said it would be here, a mixture of bright spells, dull spells and wind & rain!

My trip to London was tiring, we didn’t get home till 9.45 so was tired the following day. However, my Dads Dr spent a decent time with us and my Dad is booked in for lots of tests etc so hopefully he’ll start feeling less anxious. Going back to Dr with him in a couple of weeks.

M1yu, hope Friday went well, will be thinking of you on Wednesday.

Roz you made me laugh about your 3 posts, I think M1yu is right the site is so slow sometimes we think it hasn’t work and then land-up posting duplicates! Glad you had nice time with your Granddaughter, chocolate ice-cream sounds yummy!

Diane haven’t seen you on for a couple of days so hope all is ok and you’re just busy packing!!

Anne, hope work stayed quiet for you. Will be thinking of you Monday. Have a good chemo-free week and continue taking it easy – I have a nap most afternoons and I’m not even on chemo!

Nicola, hope you’re ok and holiday didn’t knacker you! How you getting on with treatments, any news re hip and op?

Mary, I am so sorry you’re hip is still playing up. I will be thinking of you too on Wednesday.I hope the next few days pass quickly for you,I know how awful waiting is! Everything crossed for you and hoping it’s a sprain or arthritis or something like that.

Hope I haven’t forgotten anyone, much love to you all, Julie x

Hello My Darlings, Sorry, sorry, sorry that I haven’t been on the site for a couple of days. Kept meaning to, just time ran out. I’m trying to pack and also my stepson David is here from Canada so we’ve been out and about. The weather has been truly horrendous hasn’t it?

Mary, I’m so, so sorry to hear about your hip giving you such a bad time. I know how worried you must be, but at least he’s seeing you quickly and not making you wait around for weeks. I’ll be praying for you on Wednesday and also m1yu, will be thinking of you both. Even if it is the dreaded bc Mary, better to get it sorted now and get some pain relief. Hopefully your onc won’t keep you waiting too long m1yu, I always find that really stressful, the endless waiting.

Anne, enjoy your ‘free week’ - I used to love it when it was week off, it was like a holiday in itself. Glad you got your daughter’s weekend sorted, well done Roz for the info. (I’ve just had a good laugh at the triple submission Roz, it’s easily done) Good luck for your scan today Anne, thinking of you.

Julie, pleased your trip to London went well with no nasty surprises and that you and your Dad coped with it ok.

Nicola and Alison, hope you are both ok and enjoying the weekend.

Well, got to go and continue packing. Take care my dear friends, lots of love to you all. Dianne x x x

hiya all you lovley ladies
just had too skip threads if you dont all mind??? im on a bof a downer too be honest ,maryanne had the lung glued last week and they said 75% chance of success !!!do you know what ? what ever luck i get seem too be s**t, dont look like the glues holding and she is getting shortness of breath again sods law!!! now i do have a question, on my other thread they said the cancer is in the fluid and not the lung BUT what we would like too know is once chemo starts friday week will the shortness of breath gradually fade,if anyone can answer this that would be fantastic , i do hope you are all good on this bank holiday weekend love too each and everyone of you,
wayne everyday passed is one closer too a cure

Hi Wayne,
I too had this fluid. I had it drained in March of this year, but haven’t had the “glue” thing. My onc told me she wanted to start chemo asap after the drain was done, which I did, as the chemo should keep the fluid in check by dealing with the cells that were causing it, so far it has worked.

I thought the fluid had returned a couple of months into the chemo, but xrays didn’t show anything and it was generally thought it was the chemo causing the shortness of breath…so please bear this in mind once Maryannes treatment starts. I also think me panicking didn’t help either!

My breathing is better, not as good as it was…my onc told me it probably wouldn’t ever get back to how it used to be, but it is fine. I can walk, climb stairs, do housework, etc. which I couldn’t before.

The chemo I had was Taxotere and I finished it at the end of June.

I hope this info has helped

Keep your head up,
Sandra x

Hi girls

Nice day so just posting before popping out for walk with Lucy. I certainly feel much better – it was like a cloud lifted yesterday and I thought – oh this is good, this is the normal me!! Just want to hold on to normal me for as long as possible – you all know the feeling!! Chemo break this week and my middle daughter visiting with her fiancé this weekend so it will be great to continue to feel good – fingers crossed. Scan at 3.40 yuck - for thinking of me.

Dianne not much wonder you haven’t time for the computer with all the packing you must have to be doing!!! I would love to be a fly on your wall at the moment – do you pack for oh too or does he do his own? My oh is so organised he is all ironed and packed days before I have even thought about what I’m taking. I am a good list maker though!! I am so excited for you!!!

Mary I do hope you are not it too much pain – we are all worried about you and I have been thinking about you all weekend. Only two days to go to see your onc – is your MacMillan nurse or someone going with you? If I lived nearer I would love to go with you but I will be with you in spirit and holding your hand even though we are many miles apart. Whatever it is I’m sure they will get it sorted and make it better, wish I could give you a big hug but sending one instead.

Roz I am exactly the same!!! My oh will be telling me the latest about a fuse he has found that does such and such in the caravan and my eyes are glazing over and I’m trying to focus on him and look as if I have a clue what he is talking about lol. Sounds like you had a lovely time with your granddaughter – like the chocolate ice cream bit!! I am a social work with the out of hours emergency team. Our job is to co-ordinate emergency responses over the Highlands. I am very lucky that it is a sit down job virtually all our work is done over the phone – I couldn’t do it otherwise. We also work 16 hours shifts but can lie down and get a rest if no calls coming in. Long shifts mean good time off so it is a great job and I do love it.

Julie your trip sounds exhausting hope you are getting time to rest now. Your poor dad it just seems to be one thing after another but at least the doctor gave him the time he needed and I do hope the test results help plan his future treatment. Look after yourself.

M1yu I have been thinking of you too, I do hope you had a good weekend and managed to do something nice. Will be with you too on Wed and checking on forum to see how it went. Hope your football game is keeping you busy if weather down with you not good.

Wayne I am so sorry you and Maryann are having such a difficult time. I wish I could help but have no knowledge of what you are going through. Have you discussed this with Maryann’s breast care nurse? All I can do is send you my love and best wishes. I do hope the chemo helps and someone can answer your questions.

Hope you are still in that relaxed holiday frame of mind Nicola and all is well with you Alison.

Lots of love to you all my lovely friends and hope the sun shines for you all today. Anne x x

hiya sandra

wayne everyday passed is one closer too a cure

Hi Girls,

Dianne,I am getting really excited for you, don’t envy you the packing though!!! Glad you are having such a good time with your stepson!

Julie glad you got to spend time with your dad’s doc, and hopefully managed to get some things sorted!

Roz sounds like you had a lovely time with your granddaughter,11 is a lovely age,she had the right idea about the choccy ice cream!!!

Anne I am thrilled that you are back to yourself!!! It’s a great feeling…long may it last! Will be thinking of you,and holding your hand during the scan!!
Fingers crossed for good results!!! Enjoy the rest of the chemo free week, and have a lovely time with your daughter next weekend!! Glad you got the youngest one’s surprise sorted, she will be thrilled!!!

M1yu hope you are okay, and had a good weekend, will be thinking of you on Wednesday!!

Alison and Nicola, thinking of you,and hoping all is well.

Wayne, so sorry that I can’t help,as I haven’t any knowledge of what Maryanne has gone through, but sending you both, lots of love, and hope that once the chemo kicks in that things improve.

I didn’t feel too good over the weekend,my painkillere are helping, but can’t help worrying, thanks for all you support and good wishes for Wednesday

Take care, Lots of love Mary xx

Hi girls,

Mary, hope you’re not in too much pain. Not long to go now!

Julie, hope all goes well when you go back with your dad.

Dianne, you must be getting excited now. Have a fantastic time!

Anne, enjoy your chemo break this week, especially at the weekend. All the best with your scan today. Hope to hear some good news from you soon with the results.

roz, sounds like great fun with your granddaughter. I’d be the one too busy playing DS rather than eating the ice cream!!!

wayne, sorry about what’s happening with Maryanne. I don’t have lung mets, but remember when I’m on chemo, my haemoglobin level dropped quite a bit (anaemic) and that has caused breathlessness - scary to say the least. So if blood test indicate similar results, please bear in mind that it could to be that rather than lung mets getting worse. It’s also good to know that the medical team thinks she’s strong enough to have chemo! Hope it works for her and things will be on the up soon.

Yes, my football game is certainly keeping me busy. Weather has been nice down here. Very sunny and warm enough for sleeping on grass again! Very cold early morning and late evening though. Haven’t been to work yet! That’s this Friday rather than last. I might have given the wrong info (can’t be bothered to check).

Getting closer to Wed. Thanks for all the good wishes and holding hands. Hope will have some good news to report back.

Take care xx
