Morning all.
I like the idea of Clare’s Surreal World - as long as it’s nothing like Wayne’s World!
I don’t know about Dawn French - I think that there’s something more of the Susan Sarandon about you RevCat - although DF has lost quite a bit of weight recently.
Would Jennifer Saunders be a good one to play Clare? Funny, intelligent, blonde - and first hand knowledge of BC? Either her, or it’s got to be Kate Winslett. Any other ideas? Which one do you fancy Clare?
Hope you have another lovely lunch.
Dx
Wow RevCat - I was there too at the rally with Dawn French!!! How surreal is THAT?! Only women clergy would start a rally with coffee and pastries… fab…
Have a good day Clare - sounds like a quiet-ish one would be in order, but, hey! why??!!
Morning All,
Thank you for making me feel welcome. Nicky, think carefully - you might be going home to Brad, but all those children too??! As a lurker I know mine would only be a small part, but if you could get Cameron Diaz interested I’d like that - she looks like she just has lots of fun! It’s going to be a big budget movie, Clare. Mind you, there could be a saving to be made in hair and make-up, with so many baldy ladies in the cast!!
Re Docataxol sore feet - mine were sore for about three months after treatment finished. Very ends of my toes are still numb after a year. Sorry - that’s probably not what you wanted to hear, but then everyones experience is so different. Wishing everyone a good day.

Oooh, Clare, please can I have Julia Roberts to play me? She looks absolutely nothing like me (she’s only about half as wide for a start) but I think she’s a wonderful actress.
It really would be surreal seeing her as me on the big screen!
More baking to do tonight. Shall it be almond cake or coconut cake? Or maybe both…?

Afternoon Clare. Hope you’re taking it a little easier today! I’m just enjoying some post op lunch (am lucky I am ok after anaesthetics)…my first words are usually ‘what can I have to eat’ …lol! I see Alto has her baking apron on again today. Can she start home deliveries so we can sample her wares?
Hubby went & had a haircut whilst I was under the knife earlier ( yet more scars to add to my collection) but I should be allowed home later thus afternoon. I feel fine, just a bit bruised & achey. Time for some more Scrabble games on my iPhone whilst I relax!
Thanks ChoccieMuffin for reassuring me yesterday when I was fretting a bit about the op today. Was just thinking…can they knock me out until the entire chemo treatment has finished…ha ha ha

Hi there, my name is Lizzie and I’m a lurker. I’ve decided to come out in honour of the wonderful Clare. Have been reading every day and updating all my family on what’s been happening and couldn’t keep quiet any longer. Clare - I think you’re great!
Love from Lizzie the Lurker xxx
Hi Claire
ChoccieMuffin & I were wondering if you could slot another afternoon of food & laughs into your diary sometime soon. Perhaps some of the other ladies will be free this time (Cackles…get your diary out too) to join us. We shall all bring something for the feast! Have a look & see if you can squeeze us in between your outings!
Hugs
Twinky x
I would like to come Twinky maybe I could carve a lift with you if I drove to yours?
In claires surreal world I should be played by Hatty Heyridge!
Twinky Fantastic idea. Gad you didn’t find the PIC too bad. When is the first poison? Perhaps visits to Clare might be best ASP. We don’t need you pucking everywhere!!!
Alto you are not good for my diet. …coconut please.
I intend to try sleep tonight…some hope.
Cackles xx
Hi Cromercrab, yes of course you can have a lift. First poison tomorrow Cackles so hoping Clare has an opening in her diary next week to give me a few days to get over it before I’m up for being sociable again! It’s up to Clare though. Depends when she’s free & how she’s feeling.
Twinky x
I was away for pancake day, but I hope to join you as well. I am also happy to drive, especially as Twinky will need a rest after the poison. (work permitting).
Hello again ladies,
I’m back to round up a few more lurkers haha. I bet there’s loads more of us checking in each day for a quick dose of this upbeat thread.
Welcome to Lizzie and Julianna, great isn’t it Katytc?
Come on, out of the woodwork lurkers, no need to be shy, log on and declare yourselves! Lets show Clare how many people she is touching and helping along the way. Such a great lady.
Welshgirl - I love your image of Clare in the revolving doors and going back for more. I visualise all the thread followers joining Clare, clutching bunches of Claredrops, wigs flying at high speed, bags of scrummy snacks in bulging picnic baskets, all followed by a film crew and all the paraphernalia that entails - oh dear I’d better stop, can’t help it - sorry!
Nicky - Can I be in ‘Clare’s Surreal World’ as well! Although late to own up and join I’d love to be played by Goldie Hawn (always wanted to be blonde and am now with my glam wig!) - I could be on the outskirts of the main activity catching lurkers to join in the fun - may have to have a few scatty moments along the way though.
Gel - thanks for the update on the sore feet thing - I seem to be normal then(!) Tingly fingers and toes are very irritating when trying to get to sleep - hey ho
Twinky - so glad the portacath is in situ now - I hate the thought of one but it may happen so I also would want the hammer method. Good luck with the chemo.
Well Clare here’s to a lovely day for you tomorrow. I’m off to the gym with encouraging friends - now that should be funny!
Sleep well all Claredrop fans
Donna
Thanks Twinky 8-).
I am feeling a lot more alert now week five post rads. The mists are clearing. At the moment I am watching a recording of Zappa p,ays Zappa with OH having stuffed myself on cake. Happily knitting a lovely new gilet type belted top in a lovely rich red mohair. All is well with the world. Wishing sweet dreams and bags of spoons to Claire and everyone on this thread
Xxxxxxx
I don’t mind who plays me, but please can I play opposite Tom Hanks?
Welcome all lurkers!
Film sounds fab and would have lots of laughter.
If Clare was up for a visit I’d love to meet her and you other lovely ladies. I don’t drive though so if anyone is close to Brighton and could give me a lift it would be great. Otherwise I’m just happy to share in this wonderful thread!
Glad the port went well Twinky, told you it was doable. I’m a week on from mine and besides a bit of bruising and a little soreness it’s fine. Hopin for first use this Thursday.
Hope you had a good chat Clare and you won the poker - you don’t play for money do you, I can’t play at all. Anyway, whatever, I hope you’ve had a good day.
My vote goes with the coconut cake - sounds yummy!
Lots of love lovely ladies xxx
Loving the idea of Clare’s surreal world… Hope you have had a good day Clare.
Jane your baking sounds yummy…
Twinky good luck with the swamp juicing tomorrow… Glad the Portacath insertion wasn’t too traumatic with the knockout drops.
Donna hope ou had a good evening at the gym.
Hi to all the lurkers
And hope you ladies manage to meet up and have a lovely lunch of laughter soon… Wish I lived closer so I could join you.
Take care ladies and hope you have a good sleep tonight
Love Lulu xx
Oooh count me in for a meet up with cake! (Assuming you’re up for it and can squeeze us into your hectic social whirl Clare!)
Lx
Evening all,
I’m not up to much today, had a total wipe out of energy, I guess I may have over done it…
I met Kev for lunch and it was him that said how tired I looked but I was determined to spend as much time as I could with him. We had a lovely lunch, chatted non stop. He’s someone to be with that you don’t ever have to try, we are so easy in each others company. After lunch we drove around a bit and went for a little walk but he became really cross and said I needed to go home, of course he was right… So I took him to the station and went home, where I proptly fell into bed and slept for 3 hours solid. My kids had to go to scouts tonight and it was the one night that I could have done without driving, I don’t do it generally but the friends that do wanted to go out, so I said I would. I am feeling so weak, just woken up again after being in the deepest sleep ever in front of the telly.
Xoh has been wonderful and has helped me to the kitchen to have my nebuliser while I write this.
I have cancelled lunch tomorrow and decided that I will have to do something every other day as I am exhausting myself and its no longer fun if I do that.
Next week you are all welcome and I will save my energy. the only hard and fast booking is my sister on friday, she’s staying saturday too. So if you don’t mind Twinky, can you organise something that suits you all from Monday to Thursday.
I guess I have been overdoing it a bit, I have been booked up everyday for the past week and a bit, so something had to give.
It will be lovely to put more names to faces, mayb just restrict it to about3 or 4 hours so I don’t get too tired (sensible hat on :o) I hate being grown up but I suppose I need to care a bit more for myself otherwise I will burn out before the 17th March and mum has finally said she feels ok to book somewhere with me in mind for their anniversary :o)
Sleep well ladies, I won’t hang around but go to bed and I can guarantee I will sleep all night…LOL

Oh dear, potmaid’s in need of more spoons…

Take your pick.
Clare, it’s good that you’re making sure you have enough energy that your activities are all fun. There’s just no point if you’re too knackered to enjoy yourself.
I can’t do Tuesday or Wednesday next week, but don’t worry if either of those is the most popular day. If anyone is thinking of coming along, please say on here whether there are any days you can’t do and whether you have a preferred day. I’ll try to stick all the answers in a list and come up with the most sensible choice and then we can see if Clare’s ok with that day.
In case anyone else is thinking of visiting Clare next week, she’s in Oxfordshire. I’m happy to do a bucket of spag bol sauce and bring it with me so Clare doesn’t need to do ANYTHING other than allow us to look at the snowdrops. No washing up, no running around after us, you’ll have lots of hands ready to do your bidding. And I managed to get away without doing any ironing but am happy to fulfill my commitment if required.
