Did we confirm a time (ish) for tomorrow? Have just remembered I have an appt with my old onc in the morning but should be able to get on the road by 11 at the latest. Haven’t looked yet but I reckon it will take me between 1 1/2 - 2 hours depending on traffic.
I’ll bring:
Non-leaf salad
Cheese
Non-alcohol fizzy
Fruit juice
and I’ll stick a pack of spag in my bag just in case
CM - I’m veggie and assuming that the ‘Bol’ part of the spag is meaty but I’ll bring along some veg-bol for myself and if anyone else is veggie, let me know and I’ll do one for you too.
Really hoping you all have a lovely day tomorrow. Being an Oxon local yokel I would love to be with you but working:( I am following this thread every evening to catch up on how you are doing Clare. Keep filling that social diary of yours with plenty of zzz in between. Glad the legs are improving. You’ll need them in tip top condition for pending further adventures around the county. Much love:) xx
Morning just in case you don’t go to Benchland CM. I will bring Fizzy Alcoholic and pudding, plus leaf salad. Alesta would you like me to do a veggie quiche?
Cackles
Cackles, you are bringing far too much, drop the salad ( not literaly) , As promised I will prepare a salad.
I still need to tell my OH that I am meeting strangers. I know he won’t be happy about it. We do live dangerously LOL.
Not a happy bunny, the weather was lovely yesterday but I spent it in bed with a migraine induced by Pamidronate; today I am feeling better, and it is pouring down. Grrr.
Have a wonderful time, ladies, it sounds great. Hope all OHs and XOHs can be persuaded that you are a Good Thing!
Lavender
xxxxxxxxxxxx (enough x to go all round)
I have just hit Waitrose and Asda.
Tell your OH Vecors we may be STRANGE but not Strangers, cos we all know each other’s feelings better than most!!!
I have Fizzy Hic juice,
flat Hic juice
two different puddings
& Garlic Bread…".we may as well keep all Gremlins at bay!!!
I need closing instruction somebody !!! Also I am still available to act as bus or station Taxi.
Never mind about Clare’s littlies reheating the leftovers for dinner - it looks as though they’ll have a month’s worth with all this food. I hope you’ve got a big freezer Clare!
Just been reading all about your plans for tomorrow, hope you have a truly fantastic day. You all represent how life should really be. I really do believe that we have been put on this earth to help one another through good times and bad, and you lot just radiate goodness, kindness and love. Have a brilliant day. I’ll be thinking of you
Wow this is sounding like a major feast! Hope you all have a wonderful day with much love and laughter. I am working more’s the pity although not so very far away that I wouldn’t otherwise have been tempted to lunch with you lovely ladies.
Hope everyone is having a restful day. It is persisting down with rain here but hopefully that will help the crocuses and daffs which are just coming through. I have some lovely little daffs (are they narcissuses or should that be narcissi - sorry latin GCE was a VERY long time ago). Miniature daffodils anyway, and they, like the Claredrops are extraordinary works of nature.
I like this living in the day. I am still having post-bc counselling to get my head around the bc bomb that went off in my life and they talked about “enjoying the now” and the smells, sights, sounds of every day that we might usually rush past or be too distracted to find pleasure in.
I found myself thinking of, and mentioning, this thread and how it reminds me to enjoy each day and the pleasures it can bring
Enjoy today and have a lovely day tomorrow
Jane, I can’t say anything, I was eating luscious leftover bakery goodies and curries for days after our woodies get together and I still have a stash of fizzy and non-fizzy grape-based drinks - which I am sure must count as part of my five a day?? - though no longer a salad box full of beer xx
Unable to make your get together ladies, but getting warm and fuzzy feelings just reading about your plans (and a few tummy rumbles too!!) Wishing you a lovely day of laughs and hugs.

Hello Clare (and her wonderful gang),
Now I’m not a lurker. I visited the thread yesterday and it has taken me this long to catch up with it all (20 pages at a time!).
I am sure my poor OH has not missed me much! I do love your delightfully naughty/ frank/ humbling posts. Certainly gives me a kick up the a**e when I need one.
I’ll be thinking of you at your get together . Have a lovely, lovely time. Xx
Have a lovely day tomorrow all, hope the weather is better than today, it has been dire here! I had to drive up the moterway to Leicester for my nephew’s daughter’s Christening (don’t like to say my great-niece makes me feel too old, though I don’t mind saying I am a grandmother lol)! Driving conditions terrible. Passed 2 accidents. Made me aware how fragile we all are (bc or no bc) and comments about living in the moment really resonate today! So have a fab day tomorrow, xxx
Dear Clare, have wonderful day tomorrow with the gang. I’ll be thinking of you all and look forward to reading all about it. Lots of love to you all, Lizzie xxxx
MG, we did have rather a lot of food, didn’t we… I hope you’ve used the cheese grater again!
It hasn’t stopped raining all day here as well, but you’re right - the gardens and fields are desperate for rain (we’re in an official drought area, although obviously our reckoning of drought isn’t quite what the rest of the world would consider it to be).
It hasn’t put off the birds though. If anything my bird feeders have been even busier than usual today with four greenfinches, a great tit, a robin and a blackbird all feeding at one point.
Today I’ve baked a pineapple loaf cake. It made so much mix that there was too much for the tin so I had to make five muffins as well! When I was making it I cracked the eggs into the bowl and had my first ever bad egg. I can’t believe I’ve been baking all these years and never had one. I was always taught to break the eggs separately into a cup first just in case but haven’t done if for ages. I will now though! Luckily the bowl was empty that I’d crakced it into so it didn’t ruin any ingredients. The egg sort of exploded as I cracked it, the yolk was all mixed dup with the white and it smelt horrible. Not the traditional bad egg smell, just really nasty. All chased away by the baking smelll soon enough though!
Have a truly spendiferously surreal day tomorrow you lot,
Will be thinking of you all tomorrow.have a really lovely day and hope your legs are behaving themselves Clare.Should have finished my pre-op by lunchtime so may have to raise a small glass to you all.

Looking forward to meeting you. Keep those legs up! Love Diana x
Hi members of Clare’s (surreal) world. Somehow I knew this was going to happen, but I now can’t make tomorrows’s lunch. The good news is I’ve sold my car, the bad news is I can’t get to Clare’s :-(. Last week would have been fine as OH was away and I could have used his car but not this week. I know I’m not too far away from CM but I also have to get back for a pre arranged appointment late afternoon so a lift wouldn’t be possible.
I’m soooo sorry to miss all the fun, and meeting the ladies who I ‘speak’ to all the time. I want a full report, pleae!
As to OHs being worried about meeting ‘strangers’ when I met up with one of my buddies on here my ED said, text me when you get there, she may be an axe murderer. Needless to say she wasn’t, or wasn’t at the time, and her D’s had had a good laugh about it
Also, living for the moment has been my motto certainly since my secondary dx, carpe diem, seize the day
Nicky xx
Take care tomorrow Clare when the troops arrive…
I hope that you will take good care of yourself and return to your lovely bed for a snooze if you feel weary.
Visitors are a joy but I hope you are ok with telling people when you’ve had enough. A short break or walk for your visitors may help you enjoy the second part of your visit even more…
I think being sociable is under-rated as a tiring activity…
Hope all of the troops travel safely and are collected by the correct people! I was being collected once by an unknown person and I got into the wrong car!!!
Driver and wife were duly shocked at my friendly chatter!
Food sounds amazing!
Have a really great gathering.
YOur all making me looking forward to tomorrow more and more with each post :o)
Any time after 12 is ok with me, I should be all dressed and washed and sorted by then easily. But come when you can, by the sound of it we won’t run out of food LOL. I feel a little redundant, I think I’ll cut up all my fruit and at least produce a fruit salad. I have no wine, so if somebody can buy a few bottle for the ladies that tipple i’ll pay them for it when they arrive and won’t take NO for an answer…YOu will see this mild mannered, layed back person turn green and burst into action LOL (well I live in hope)
Speaking of ugly green things…I am not really a pretty sight, even from when I saw twinky and CM, my face has expanded and I have the most horrendous double chin, I try not to look in the mirror nowerdays, so I’ll apologise now LOL and no its not a mask… :o)
Hope you can all find me ok, if you come off the main road after the dual carriage way, 2nd sign post. I am the fifth house on the left as you come into the village with a red car and a 70’s caravan in the drive ( and several others lol) 2 possibly 3 will fit on the drive but there is a layby outside the house and across the road or you can park down the side road if you have too.
I have had such a chilled day with Jane, we just sat and chat and watch Jamie Oliver cooking all day and she then gave my legs a good massage, Aisling was totally facinated to see her push all the fluid upwards and the difference it actually made. I can actually move my legs with ease as the heavyness has gone. So hopefully will be on form for tomorrow and i’ll only take 1 water tablet otherwise you can talk to me one by one as i sit on the loo every 10 mins :o)
