Morning Clare
Hoping you have a day as lovely as yesterday but with a bit more legs up and rest!
Fog in Northants is threatening to burn off and maybe extend into Oxon so fingers crossed for a glorious sunny day.

G morning :o) :o) :o)
A grey day outside but a warm glowing day inside today. Jamie and Aisling woke me up at about 10 with breakfast in bed. 2 chocolate pancakes, fruit salad (homemade) with a youghurt jue. All presented in a posh materchef sort of way, very clever. A lovely card too where Jamie had actually written some nice words about me caring for them all there lives and it was now their business to care for me…bought a tear to my eyes.
I had had my terracotta soldier for my present and he is now outside, by the kitchen window, which has been dug over and replanted a little. So I can see him everyday without having to go outside if I can’t manage it LOL
I am going to sit and chill for the day, like we all should unless we are indulging our mothers…
Rev wishing you well in your work today, don’t tire yourself out too much, sounds like your ‘flock’ are in for a treat :o)as you have given such thought to what you will say, not that you don’t any other time but today in particular brings out other emotions, so I found your summary welcome and I’m sure others will too.
Have a lovely time
Clare xxx
Clare, fantastic that you all had such a lovely time yesterday, your children are a real credit to you. Have a great quiet day xx
Just back from taking a Mothering Sunday service - actually mentioned all the possible permutations on mother (from being one to missing one to never wanting to be one etc) at the end of the sermon and one lady in her 50s or 60s said she’d never been included before!!
So, to one and all, be blessed - you’re amazing!
Glad you’re beign spoilt Clare. I had a card and flowers from my son, which is astonishing (he doesn’t DO cards)… DD produced a very nice bottle of wine…
I was generating for the National Grid most of last night, hope you all had a good night… and that the day is memorable Clare… your kids do you proud…
Love Jane
WHat wonderful children you have Clare - it’s obviously genetic! So glad you had a lovely day yesterday, storing up more happy memories for your family.
I still feel a bit shellshocked after yesterday - it was the premiere performance of DH’s new musical (nicholasnicklebymusical.com for those that have missed it). We were there from 10.15 am setting up sound equipment, theen rehearsed all afternoon and performed it in the evening. finally got home just before midnight absolutely exhausted. I hardly ate all day - I think the nerves and stress stole my appetite but had the best night’s sleep last night that I’ve had for ages (although that might be more down to me finally getting some ear plugs to deafen me to DH’s snoring…). Sold 10 more CDs of the music last night, so with selling them for £10 each and production costs of £2.25 each that’s another £77.50 for BCC.
CM, I know what you mean about ignoring your birthday. I try not to think of mine too much and luckily with it being close to Christmas there’s plenty of other things going on so I can usually pretend it isn’t happening.
Well, we’ve been to church and it’s been really grey and damp here so far today but the sun is finally struggling through. I really need to get out and do some pruning as everything’s starting to sprout. Not today though - It’s a serious chillout day today, with late lunch at my friend’s pub at 3.30. So much looking forward to her lemon meringue pie. She’s a superb cook. I know that sticky toffee pudding is also on the menu but I think something lemony will be the thing - all the Dark Wooders will know how much I like lemons!
Have a lovely day everyone, and a very happy Mothering Sunday to you all. Whether you’re a mother or not, it’s a day to be thankful for all those who we love and who care or have cared for us.
Love to all the Claredrops,
Jane xxx
I am one of those for whom BC has probably robbed me of a chance to be a Mum. Ironically I was hoping to try this year but here I am fighting for the second time around. I will just have to concentrate on being the mad Auntie for my two nephews & niece! So lovely to have a husband this time around & despite the fact that I feel pretty I unattractive after my DX & with my hair gone he tells me he loves me & still wants me & that’s a huge confidence boost for me.
Pleased to be down with my Mum this weekend. Not looking forward to the journey back as I feel tired all the time but it was lovely to see all the family. It will be hard to leave them all behind ( & hubby) and head back to juicing no.2 on Weds. Looking forward to catching up with Clare tomorrow.
CM…hope that you’ve been spoilt a bit today too x
Twinky
Well done Alto, that’s brilliant… hope more people get to enjoy this lovely music.
Jane you’re a star - well done you for covering all bases and helping someone to feel included and valued. I checked with my most vulnerable-to-the-day person after church and she said it had been fine… phew.
Clare, so glad you have been treated to such a scrummy breakfst in bed… so well-deserved and I’m sure your children were thrilled to treat you.
Twinky, I am so sorry… someone once said to me ‘never say never’, may it prove so for you.
Hope everyone is able to have some lovely moments today, whoever and wherever you are.
Twinks, when are you heading back? You’re very welcome to drop in for a cuppa if you fancy it. I’ve not heard a peep from any of my four sprogs, but they know I don’t like the commercialism of the day and I’m not bothered about cards. Would have been nice to get a text at least, or a phone call, but nuffink.
I remember the best mother’s day breakfast I had. Delivered to my bed were digestive biscuits with chocolate spread and squirty cream. And a glass of milk because the girls were too little to be allowed near the kettle and wanted to do it ALL themselves. So I invited them into bed with me to share my breakfast, and thankfully they ate most of it so I didn’t have to! Definitely a case of the thought counting, I really couldn’t have faced biscuits, cream and chocolate spread first thing in the morning…
My youngest brought me breakfast in bed on Friday for my birthday. I’m afraid the cat ate it, as it was salmon and Boursin on a bagel. I’m not a big breakfast eater at the best of times but certainly couldn’t face fish first thing! But it was lovely of her to make the effort, and the cup of tea that came with it was lovely.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day, and that Clare is being loved and molly-coddled today.

Hiya :o)
I have had such fun today, lots of belly laughs and just being plain stupid…after my lovely breakfast I got up and felt really good, all that resting has done me some good and my legs felt ok too.
So off we went to beckonscot model village… :o)
I thought Ashy was going to say no but to my relief she agreed to come and she’s so pleased she did as we 3 had a ball. We did ask XOH but as predicted and to the hurt of Jamie he declined. It would have been fun, although he does tend to dampen the mood a bit.
I got a wheelchair there, the journey was good and quick.hmmmmmmm I did speed a little but haven’t for so long it was great to let off steam. Both the kids took it in turns to push, it wasn’t too crowded so we got in no-ones way with our antics :o) We chased Aisling when she least expected it and nearly crashed, many a time, what we would have done, I don’t know but we didn’t think too far ahead much. Ashy just pushed, not really looking where she was going and it involved lots of crashing into kerbs etc (luckily no-one was hurt in the fun making :o)The village has been updated since we last went, lots of new buildings and a total revamp of all the others, with new animals and people. Jamie was in his element, still chasing trains to photograph them as he used to when from when he was 3 LOL. He still has both his train layouts, a Thomas one and an electric one but thankfully not an anorack… and I bought him a new thomas today awwwwwwwwwwww!!! Secretly Ashy had a great time, it was difficult to wipe the smile off her face, she positively glowed.
As you can gather It was one of the best days out with the kids I have had for a very long time, so well worth the tiredness. So no Kat I didn’t have a quiet day that was planned but a surprisingly fun one, thats crossed off the list no Ashy just has to think of some thing that she wants to do now :o)
Luv to all

Oh heavens CM…just got in & flopped on the bed to check the latest posts & saw your offer of a cuppa! Found it hard to drive back today. Didn’t dare stop at the services in case I couldn’t face driving any further! Luckily I left at a good time so I got both day light & fairly good traffic for my journey. Am still full up with my Dad’s roast lamb do wont need to cook for myself tonight, just relax a bit! Bunnies appeared to have behaved in my absence & are now stretching their legs in the garden.
CM I’ll sort out a meet up once I’ve got over the worst of juicing no.2…does anyone else feel like shouting 'I don’t want any more after no.1…lol…have turned into a complete big girls blouse! Better go sit in bench land on the cowards bench…
Hugs to all this Mothering Sunday (how/when did this day originate)

Clare,
I’m so pleased you had a lovely day. As the advert says “Spending the day with Mum on Mother’s Day … Priceless” - nothing will take the happy memories away from Aisling & Jamie!
Take care
Axx
Clar
A nice quiet day tomorrow with an omelette and Twinkle sounds just the ticket.e your day sounds like a real hoot! I hope the three of you provoked lots of disapproving glances!
So pleased you had such a wonderful day with your two lovely children.Spent the day with my son,he came on his own as his wife went for lunch with her mother. My DIL is a really sweet girl but it was so nice for me to spend the day with my son.Took a slow stroll along the beach(I still have my drain attached from op).Was a bit draining but so worth it and then my son cooked us a late lunch.Hubby washing up ans complaining about the number of pans.My son sees himself as a bit of a chef but tends to use every utensil in the kitchen.
Hope everyone had a lovely mothers day and is now recovering.
L xx
CLARE, What are you like?? Causing complete mayhem, crashing into kerbs and chasing your children?? I think you are now on the “mischievous” bench, what are we gonna do with you…??
PS Laughter is the best medicine xx
Wow, you certainly knoe how to make the most of things. Really glad you had a ball.
My daughter baked a mille feuiiles, OH Cooked a rib of beef on bbq, then watched a film. Now in a bit of a meltdown. I am getting the results of CT and MRI scans on Tuesday. I am terrified.
Clare,
Sounds like you had a wonderful day with Jamie and ashling…its just what you all deserve…
Hope you have a lovely sleep tonight and lovely dreams about today.
Love fran xx
Wow, what a lovely day… I’m so happy for you all… wonderful memories for Jamie and Aisling to look back on in years to come, and another good ‘tick’ on your wish list. So lovely… it makes my heart sing to read it.
Rest well tonight, and hopefully tomorrow will be another good one too, just perhaps a teeny bit quieter?!
Maybe Rev… :o)
We shall see.
I may have Twinky dancing in the kitchen comparing baldy heads, as mine is coming out in handfulls, not sure why :o)
Sleep well all

Dearest Clare,
So very pleased that you and your wonderful children Jamie & Aisling have enjoyed a wonderful day with fondest memories to recall in the future which is all we can ultimately wish for.
May you enjoy many more days and create many more memories,
Sxx
Sounds brilliant to me Clare just the sort of fun family day that lives on in the memory. Glad you had such a good time.
I’m sure you and Twinky will have a nice time tomorrow too, but you both need some rest so not too many antics!!
Well done to the ‘inclusive’ clergy! It is difficult to get it right with so many permutations, but sounds like you managed really well.
My mum loved her ornamental cherry tree, landed up delivering it ourselves last week as the people I bought it from delivered it here instead of London, couldn’t get it in the car without removing it from protective cardboard but not too much damage done! Have sent a few comments to the suppliers though!!
Have a good week all, hope the juice isn’t too bad Twinky, hope you get your drain out Linda and fingers crossed for Tuesdays results Vercors.
Night all, sweet dreams xx
