Shocked, glad you are feeling ???today darling ?? always feel free to jump on Oct thread to ask anything. Get the fluids in on the fec as the red one will make your pee look like tizer till you flush it through usually starts by first pee after chemo and for a few hours after. Keep eye on temp below 35.5 or above 37.5 or if no temp and pee burns/stings ring rapid response. ???:sparkles::sparkles::sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Im feeling really good 10 days post T, back at work and normal routine xx

Hello January peeps. I’m another October starter so about to have last chemo tomorrow. I’ve been on 6 x FEC. I’m er+ pr+ and HER2+. Have rads and a year of Herceptin injections.
Just wanted to wish you all well. It’s a tough journey but is doable and apart from fatigue I’ve actually found the side effects easier to manage as the cycles have gone on, possibly because my treatment has remained the same throughout.
Biggest recommendations from me are as follows.
Manuka honey at least 10+ best brands are Tiptree, M&S and Sainsbury’s. Keeps infection at bay and helps your white blood cells. Only cycle I didn’t have it was the first one and my neutrophils were only 1 when had second chemo so nearly had a delay. They have been ok since.
Moist flushable toilet wipes
Hemaroid cream
Dulcoease for constipation
Cranberry juice to protect bladder from irritation and infection.
Biotene mouthwash and toothpaste. I’ve only had a couple of mouth ulcers. Use up to 5 times a day when mouth is very dry.
Try to take a short walk daily when you can because even if you don’t feel up to it you will feel better both mentally and physically if you do.
That’s about it, I will pop by from time to time to see if I can help out x

Er…I’m guessing this is all emotional content! Just never know which emotion. Tonight ladies I’m grouchy ???x

Ailand , good to see you smiling !
How do you know when is right to brave the shave and what grade did you have ? Are you on T first ?
I fetched my wigs last week my free one and I bought a bobbed blonde one ( my hair is dark brown ) heh Ho xx

Sorry aliand predictive txt x

Hi jamsey, it was an easy decision the hair had fallen out in clumps and I had bald patches. It’s really weird it just pulls out with a gentle pull. Then it starts itching and eventually it gets very tender when touched. I was fed up picking up hair everywhere, my clothes were covered in it. But it was mainly the fact I looked a bit ridiculous and that it was sore. I had already got my Hairdresser on standby.
He did a number 1 all over with the clippers, it was a pleasant sensation to my tender scalp.
I’m having EC first. It started falling out 2 weeks from my first chemo but lasted another 5 days until I’ve had to get rid.
No wig yet. I ordered one on 27th December from the hospital Hairdresser but I think he forgot and now it’s not available. He’s ordered something else but I’ve no idea when it will arrive. I’m a bit disappointed to be honest. Good job I’m a laid back person.

You gotta smile, laughter is the best medicine x

Hello all,

Sorry for the late check in but I was feeling super rough last night so went to bed, hardly slept tho!  Feel alright now, apart from tired, and sooo hungry so I’m gonna have a big breakfast while my mouth can handle it.

A couple of questions for you more experienced ladies; turns out I have those injections as well (10 of!), would you recommend me taking the Claratin before or wait to see if I get the SE?  Also, how many days in did the bottom troubles Start?  Might start taking a daily laxative before it hits, ideas??

Hope everyone is doing ok and good luck with cycle 2 Aliand!

Dealdoh Im using Clarins which has been fine. They do some great stuff in Holland and Barett which of course is more natural, might be worth a look.

Aliand…Great picture and great smile. Still no loss for me but lots of tingling.

I asked my hairdresser to book me for a trim on Saturday and could he have a look at trimming my wig…he replied and I quote I have booked you both in!!!

Shocked Im glad you are underway youve waited long enough. No idea about the Clarityn but interested to know as Im going to try it too on my next one…

Oh dealdoh…Forever Aloe do some lovely moisturisers xx

I’ve heard others mention Udderly Cream with Urea for dry skin.  You can get it on eBay and probably Amazon too ?

The udderly cream with added urea from amazon is usually on hands and feet darlings, I’m not sure if anyone’s used it in their face. Superdrug acqueous cream is a good all over moisturiser, I’ve got very sensitive skin and have been fine with that all over and in face, you can get a big tub and not too expensive. My cousin who is a bc survivor recommended it to me before I started chemo. Hope that helps ??:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Ladies with a bit more knowledge than me (well that’s pretty much all of you  ) I start my injections tomorrow - the nurse just said any time of day but keep to the same time for the 7 days. Just wondering if there are any SE which make morning or evenings better to do them??

Hello, I’m from the December thread & being nosey! Shocked, like Dealdoh I was also told to take it out of the fridge 30 minutes prior & to do it around 7/8pm. I’ve been quite lucky with the side effects too. I have to have them for 10 days & having my third cycle tomorrow. It’s the remembering to get it out of the fridge, I set a reminder on my phone! Like Dealdoh, the day I forgot & did it about 10.30pm I had awful back pain about 6am the next day. Good luck, the thought of it & any extra side effects is more daunting than the actual process xx

Hey all, so 9 days post round 1 and as much as I hate to tempt fate…but I’m starting to feel a bit more human again!
Being very careful this week with the while zero immunity thing… seeing this week as my ‘recovery week’ … eating lots of yummy treats and chilling in the sofa reading and watching tv avoiding the bugs and germs as much as poss.
Hoping this continues.

In terms of dry skin… mine seems to be mainly on my hands. I’m using LUSH Lemony flutter cuticle butter - smells amazing and seems to be doing the trick.
Anyone struggle with spotty skin? Mine went really spotty day 3 on my face neck and tops of arms. Any top tips for that would be good. Seems to be settling again now.

I had a breakout of spots on my back a few days in, I quite liked it made me feel like a teenager again.

Top tip about evening injections I was doing mine in the morning and the pain was rubbish…

What on earth is udderley cream? Xx

Hi Rosie the udderly cream with added urea from amazon is some cream that’s been passed down through the threads as a good one to have for hands and feet as your skin will get very dry during chemo. A good all over cream for body and face is Superdrug acqueous cream too. Hope that helps darling ??:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx
