January chemo starters ?

Great pic Aliand… looking fab!

RosieH are you not to having anymore Chemo after the 4th round then?

How is everyone else doing? Still numb finger tips… not good for typing ???

Aliand, you look stunning x

Ali and you look amazing and your daughter must be so proud of you xxxx
CT I can’t comment on hubby as mine isn’t here , but I do think about how we would of been and how he would of handled this situation , he liked to be the protector and knowing he couldn’t protect me from this would of cracked him up , also I’m a stiff upper lip and crack on with it so I probably would have just tried to carry on with him not knowing how ill or scared I was , it’s a tough one x
I’m still feeling pretty rough today on day 5 which is unusual for me , but I think our bodies are getting tired xx
I think we’re all pretty amazing actually
Tom hardy on a float yes please xx
???

Shi…thank you for the advise. I really don’t know what it was about today’s that freaked me out…

Starfire that pictures a little piece of heaven!!  I’ve got 1 more FEC after this one. Essentially they didn’t do the didn’t do the last T but still the 3 FEC so I gained 3 weeks back…chemo nurse today said oh they can always add some more at the end…I thought “can the b@ll@cks add it on!!! They’d have to catch me first”

I’m guessing by the time I’ve had surgery we will then all be somewhere on the radiation train together!

CT hope you’re holding up ok xxxx

Rosie ?starfires tom hardy photo got you through ok ??think that put a big ??on everyone’s face today, great photo. Aliand beautiful photo glamour puss ??thanks for sharing. Get the lush shampoo red dot called new, it’ll get your fluff back sooner rather than later, mishy18 topped us off with that one and it’s the bees ??’s and today when I went browsing for another wig this bloke in the shop tipped me off about extra dark Jamaican black castor oil to rub on and leave for a bit before shampooing, he’d grown his hair and zz top beard really quick using it, so I thought i’ll Give it a go. Have any of you heard of it? ??:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Dealdoh, hope you are a bit better? I can’t really talk about T as I was allergic so was on a different planet after my first one. For constipation which I have every round and drives me insane I have been drinking loads of fresh orange juice with bits in. Aldi does the cheapest. This was advised to me by the hospital after having a reaction to the MOVICAL laxative. I am also having Allbran for breakfast. I can’t stand the thought of having any more meds so try to do it naturally. xx

Hi shocked, I went in the lush soap after chemo, but if you take the ingredients list and ask your onc if it’s ok to use you can check first before buying it ???:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Take your own makeup to lgfb sessions, I’ve just left mine before it starts as the bag was rubbish and I’d not taken my own makeup with me to use. I’d been looking forward to this since before chemo last October too. ??:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

That’s interesting Shi, as I’ve heard others comment that the freebies they’ve been given are really good.  I guess it’s another thing that varies depending on where you are?  I’ve got a session booked next month.  I don’t wear makeup on a day-to-day basis but I bought some eyebrow stuff which I will take along ?

On another note, I’ve heard others mention the amount of steroids they’ve been given when starting T.  I’ve just come from an appointment with my onc and I’m not going to be given any (apart from the intravenous dose just before) as she’s not expecting me to be experiencing much sickness, I do hope that is the case!  I’m just wondering, those that have had T, if you were given a reason for the extra steroids?

Yes Amy everyone else did get the dogs egotists of bags, mine was like the left over freebies from when you buy 2 products and get. 3rd free, you know the brands that do that and none of them suitable for my complexion. Never mind, that’s why I’ve posted about taking your own, I would have been able to stay for the tips. Think the steroids and vary for t as you say but think mostly it’s standard to up them, ring the bc forum helpline they will be able to answer you on that one ???:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Hi Amy, we’re in the same trust. The nausea isn’t as bad with the T, I still felt nauseous though! They do give a large amount of steroids IV prior to chemo. It was explained to me that it’s more to help with reactions as some people react to the T. I remember with AC it was a bonus via the syringe but with the T it was an infusion. Xx

Bolus not bonus! ?? Nothing about steroids is a bonus!!! ?

Dealdoh. I hate T too for exactly same reason as you but I’m sure my pain is more down to the jabs. I am managing the pain using cocodamol, I was concerned about constipation as I had it with the FEC but have currently got the opposite problem!! Chemo is so not glamerous!
Shi, my LGFB wasn’t the best, they did have done make up to use if you didn’t bring your own but all they did was show you how to cleanse, tone, moisturise and showed you how to put normal make up on, nothing in relation to having cancer. Also they really didn’t know what they were doing. Ours was based in an M and S. Xx

*some not done

Hi Marie ??sorry to hear your lgfb not brilliant either, I’ve been online and watched some useful tutorials from alopecia ladies to get tips from them and they have been really helpful and also they are ???while doing tutorial so makes it feel lovely me a friends teaching you ???for the ?botty on the t, people upped carbs and also took Imodium, so many got be worth a try darling :heart:??:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Hi Shi. I was hoping to use my LGFB session to meet some local people of my own age in a similar situation rather than for the makeup. Unfortunately there were only 5 others there and they were all lovely but a bit older than myself. I wonder if we can go again somewhere else?! Thank you for the tips xx

Hi all not been on for bit finished fec thankfully and starting taxotere Friday. Not looking forward to it…apart from the fact it’s not constipating! Plums were the answer to that for me starfire!
Dealdoh I’ve been advised to take ibuprofen and paracetamol religiously …i too have same problem with cocodamol…hope it’s improving for you…
Do you get automatically invited to lgfg sessions or do you have to book yourself? I could do with it x
Thanks fellow swimmers x

Hi Marie, I am not sure if you can go on one again, did you book your through your Macmillan Centre? If you did, speak to them and see and also ask them if there are any local support groups, also there is the someone like me facility on here do I don’t know if you ring the BCCF line if they could assist you with finding a local group with people nearer your age. Moo moo, I booked mine be through local Macmillan group, if you don’t have one, I would suggest you speak to your bc nurse, she should be able to advise you who to contact ???:sparkles::sparkles:shi xx

Thanks everyone, that’s put my mind at rest a bit ??

Lol, Unicorngirlmummy  ??? did you get a call about the next LGFB?

moomoo you can Google look good feel better and find your local session on their website ?

hi all,

amyjb… I would be very cautious of Not feeling sick on T. It made me feel and be very sick and I was taking two lots of anti sickness meds. I would ask again…as once the sickness starts it takes it out of you to get it under control. My onc said that T DOES make you suffer from sickness and that was before I was really badly on it. Good luck x

RosieH … I’m not too bad this 3rd cycle but worried about the periferal neuropathy in my fingers. I took some meds for it and it made my hands feel like I was capable of producing fire balls in them. I’m up for review on Friday so who knows?..

My LGFG course was abit of a let down at Maggies in Nottingham. Products okay but it was a very condescending make up tutorial with not much focus on chemo skin etc. I too was looking forward to it.

HAVE A GOOD DAY LADIES ???sorry about the bold text???

P.s. Does anyone know where they sell second hand wigs for ladies on chemo, websites etc.
