???go shocked ??? well done on the diva strop and getting own room. Now get that window open in there and shut the door to the rest of the ward and get fresh air in there, stick dressing gown over the bed like and extra blanket, get your tv on the I pad, post us lot when you have time between tv shows, and start thinking about lunch and pudding, I found the cottage pie followed by crumble and custard and then the chicken for teatime off the menu was soft on mouth and easy to swallow???shi xx
Shocked I think after loosing a nights sleep and being hormonal, stressed, upset, ill and everything else entities you to s major strop. And I’m fairness a patient wanting to self discharge pushes you up the list on the bed managers watch so it works sometimes ! Go girl !
Hope you sleep tonight and your mouth feels better in the morning xxxx

So glad you slept shocked. I’d def ask for food brought in if the soup isn’t nice. ???Good nutrition is so important all those vitamins ???keep our immune system ticking over a bit and sugars and carbs for energy. ???Hard when your mouth is sore though. I had ice cream ?at he theatre last night and it was the first nice thing I’ve eaten in a week. Off to M&S this morning to buy done more (hubby buys cheap vanilla for the kids I deserve better !)

Today the sun is shining ?and my nails are not as sore as I woke up so I feel good.
Might manage a few lengths before breakfast ??
Shocked I’ve defo got the bubbles chilling for May 17 th !! I’m also trying to get a little holiday sorted for June before rads , kids are all going to Majorca and I couldn’t go obv with not knowing ,so if I can I’m going to catch s plane and surprise them all in the beach , just got to sort Hickman out and rads planning but I will do my best XX
Got my first T in an hour , so nervous XX
Hello all, sorry I haven’t checked in for ages but I lost the raft and have been treading rough waters. For me (and I’m guessing some others too) this T has been harder than the (F)EC. I made the error of taking this week off work as holiday so I could spend some time with my daughter, well what a disaster that was - we went to the hospital on Tuesday and the doctors yesterday, exciting times. I’ve booked her into holiday club today so I could rest. I’ve got dermatitis on my hands which is quite sore and thrush & ulcers in my mouth, although that seems to be clearing up. I’m hoping the next cycle might be kinder…please!!
I’m so sorry to hear that some swimmers have had to go into hospital, Shocked fingers crossed you get home today! I’ve been living off soup as well, out of a can but it’s all I feel I can manage. My OH keeps coming home and cooking dinner and I have a few mouthfuls and then say I don’t want any more. He did get me some ice lollies which are nice on the mouth ?
Aliand, awesome news about your tumour shrinkage. I’ve already had mine removed but no reconstruction yet so I’m lopsided, which doesn’t bother me with everything else going on!
Ooh yes a meet up would be great, we all know so much about each other don’t we. When this is all done I’m thinking of getting a tattoo if a fish swimming around the breast cancer ribbon, I would have to get someone else to draw it as I’m so not an artist ?
Jamesy, all the best for the next week or so. I found the first few days ok.??
Good luck Dealdoh and anyone else who’s up again soon xxx
Hi ladies
Shi suggested I pop in to your thread I start chemo tomorrow. I was only diagnosed last Thursday so this is all still quite a shock. At my meeting yesterday the doc said I would have 3x FEC and 3 x T (I think) it’s all bit of a foreign language that I am just getting to grips with. Having said that she rang me after the appt and said my HER2 result was in and it was positive so I would be having Herceptin so I think that changes the treatment down the line.
All tips/advice greatly appreciated xx
Hi
Michelle , I’m her 2 and I’m on the fec t regime I’ve had the three fec and I’ve just had my first T this morning ! No herceptin with this one but I will have it intravenously with number 5 and 6 then the next 16 will be injected in leg every 3 weeks x your onc will answer anything else for you , have a good look through the forums for tips etc and we will help when we can XX
Hi Michelle,
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Your treatment plan sounds similar to mine - 3 x EC (I didn’t have the F), 3 x T and 18 x Herceptin. I’m also having 6 x Pertuzumab. I’m just over half way through chemo, had 1st T last week. Have you been offered a picc line or port-a-cath?
They give you lots of steroids and anti-sickess pills so I found they helped with the nausea and so far haven’t actually been sick (fingers crossed that continues ), however the steroids played havoc with my sleep so had to get some sleeping pills which have been a great help. You get a horrible taste in your mouth so might want to get some mints or something. Also all the pills can bung you up so maybe get some constipation pills - while you’re at it buy a new medicine cabinet to fit all your meds in!
All the best,
Amy x
Hi Michelle ??I am from Oct ? and finish chemo in jan, and finish shed rads 3 weeks ago. For fec, suck on ice lollies while they inject the red one, it will preserve your mouth. Make sure your goody bag has difflam in and if you get thrush mouth get them to prescribe fluconzole and not fob you off with the drops, also get them every time you have chemo. See how you get on with antisickness meds, good ones that worked for me were aykenzeo and metoclopramide, get some baby bum wipes and sudocream ready too, ensure you drink lots of fluids and try and eat to keep strength up, girls in my thread used seabands to stop any sickness, paint your nails black to protect them from uv light and also massage vitamin e oil into cuticles. Make sure you take temp regularly with thermometer and if you pee starts to burn ring your rapid response number it’ll be a uti and even without temp will need treating, if you feel ? without a temperature ring the rapid response, anything ring the rapid response, you have to keep yourself safe. Your immune system will be on its backside till around day 14, so be super vigilant and then enjoy your good week, week 3. Put a posit not up and tick each one off and look forward to ringing the bell in your unit when you kick it’s ass and you will kick it’s ass, keep ???, keep ???and look forward to joining us all in club Tropicana thread when you’ve finished treatments. Now wonderwoman pants at the ready and dancing shoes on ???shi xx
Shocked, great news you are home that’s brilliant ???sleep and rest and new towel laid out on raft for you with birds eye view of Thor’s sausage ???shi xx
Aliand ??just trying to take shocked mind off things and help get her appetite back ???shi xx
It’s giving me nightmares ?
We had sausage and mash for dinner ! ???
Hi Shocked, great to hear you are home. I really want to get the caramel mc flurry!
Aliand and Shi great advice.
Hi Michelle, chemo/Cancer is definately a rollercoaster ride but you will come out the other side and this forum is a great support group. X
