Hi,
well this old crock has only managed 3km so far, so no feelings of guilt anyone. We will all do what we can when we can, otherwise we will all give up completely and feel even worse about it!!
Horace colds/flu entitle you to a free pass. Hope you pick up soon.
Take care everyone

A bit out of breath but I have just arrived. Had to do 1.5 km but I will have a little rest before the croissants appear. I will just sit quietly at this table. I do feel a bit snivelly I hope I am not catching a cold!
I think I will just close my eyes for a minute…zzz
and me… this train’s sending me to … zzzzz
Yes puff, just puff arrived puff puff. Heart pounding puff but did the 6 km. Shame you had alraedy eaten all the croissants as I was late. Rads are making me a little tired this week.
Well at last we have arrived in France and so we can take the opoortunity to enjoy a national park area this week - Nord-pas-de- Calais. Please follow either the 3km gentle route or the 6km scenic longer route if you feel up to it. While cycling look out for the local wildlife. Lunch is booked at the end of the cycle. Where we can enjoy genievre, which is gin flavoured with juniper berries or local beers (in this area, beers are more popular than wine) . Then we can have hochepot or spicy sausages with maroilles (the local cheese) and take a packet of beatencake (macaroons) to nibble as snacks.
Bon vacances and hope you have a good week. Completion before Sunday rewards you with ice cream and raspberry sauce.

Hello cheries, may I join you for a spot of tour. I have a bit of catching up to do, I can see. Will pack dark choc to keep energy up. I can manage a 20 min walk and then I need a rest. Shopping in Toulouse and supper in Boulogne the same day? Are we allowed to use the T.G.V. in between?!!! Otherwise, I can imagine myself eating snails in whatever ditch I’ve fallen into en route! As long as we run for the train, perhaps that will count?
Leti
Wow that was hard please pour me a glass of something lovely and a bowl of onion soup to help my cold!Where are we going next?
Oh la la, Croque Monseiur and vin rouge, c’est bien.
Which way are we going next Lily? Is it the coast road to Boulogne?
Bon nuit!
Hi everyone,
Leti you are very welcome to join the least strenuous exercise regime ever with the most exhausted athletes (I use that term lightly in my case!). Your French is tres bien everyone!! Not sure whether we are heading down the coast or down central France to take in some fab big cities. We have some cyclists with us who live in France and they plan to meet up with us. Anyone have any preferences? If not I will see what catches my eye for next week.
Enjoy the park cycle trail this week. There is a compulsory 1/2 km dash this week to get to the pub before last orders!!
Have fun if you are up to it

Well, everyone
Back at the bc exercise class this pm and she put us on the exercise bike for 15mins! I managed 3.4 km and ‘that’s going to hurt in the morning’, as they say!

Bahons,
it would take me 15 days!! Well done

I have to say, Lily, I wouldn’t have done half as much without a) someone pushing me, giving me the confidence to keep going and b) someone else to compete with (who beat me!)

I haven’t been on the bike since Sunday am but have just done 2.5 - jolly pleased with that. Thanks for the encouragement - I thought of you all cheering me on for the final .5km…
Haven’t been on bike but I did go Nordic skiing y’day for 2 km - not sure whether that zips me over to Norway in which case I have a lot of km to make up to get back to you lot!
Have generally fallen off the bike recently because of mild lurgs striking, and general over over’ing this time of year with boy intermitently at home between rehearsals and carol services (chorister at big gothic edifice) and trying to get house into some sort of acceptable state for deluge of rellies. Am having nightmares about catering so 'fraid biking has taken a back seat
but did buy a rain poncho for it or for me… so will catch up soon
hugs lovely people x I wish you all strength for the coming days (and that you’ll enjoy it, too, oh yes!) Have a glass of something on me (Am spending Xmas lunch with you all ??! in Cafe Rouge a la francais because not enough time between services to eat at home)
Hi,
well I fell off my bike too and a a lot of cycling to catch up as been gorging fresh cream teas after rads each day!!
Bad idea but so irresistable.
Chrismas week we all fly home unless you want to cycle. So a small target of 2 km for next week and I think most will do it shopping!
Have a very enjoyable Christmas, if treatment allows.

Hi,
welll I am guessing that we have a lot to burn off, so it is a 7km slog back to the park following our return home for Christmas. The challenge is to try to do some exercise, even if teeny weeny every day this week. The reward being a magic tablet that makes you lose 2 lbs instantly.
Hope you all had a fab break over Christmas and were able to forget all the rest of this … for a little while

Horace sneaks in at the back having scoffed a box of coffee creams in 2 days while nursing fluey husband. No exercise at all! Will now try again…honest.xx
Well, only one box Horace!!! I admire your restraint (or did you only have one box !! LOL)
I daren’t even try the scales having scoffed everything going!!

Hi,
I have done b…r all on my exercise bike and from your silence I guess you are in the same boat!!
Lets suspend it until this Sunday and see if the shame gets to us so we feel we must get cycling again. LOL
Take care
Love

I am still here but…!!!1See you Sunday!
Hi,
Am alternating between chocs and walks (well, it’s mostly chocs really) at the mo’ - managed a 5k walk around the local lake two days ago which was lovely - and gave me an appetite for even more chocs.
