Good luck with the CT
I start boosters tomorrow (so last ā€œregularā€ radio today)

Radio is so fast but the faff is going in daily
Is your hosp close ? X

Did you ask for all yoyur appointments to be on a Monday? It sounds like an awful lot to deal with in one day.
Ive lost my eyebrows, my hair is still falling out (2more EC to go then no more chemo
hopefully). People keep saying i look well and i feel like taking my hat off and showing them what i see but that would be too embarrassingā€¦
Good luck with your Mondays everyone. Xx

The onco was meant to be f2f and I asked if we could give this month a miss as I havenā€™t started my AI but they said no but a tel appt was fine

Letā€™s see

Radio canā€™t move or the zoladex

Major nuisance but canā€™t wait to hit the sofa later

Just had an interesting onco call

Not the locum as the the main medical onco is back

Iā€™m having my first bone infusion early Dec (wasnā€™t expecting it that fast)

Sheā€™d suggested starting my AI a week or 2 after radio as the fatigue from radio is prob peaking she said

We also chatted about Kisqali which has been approved in the US & UK (private patients only!) for early stage BC now hormone + and I prob wonā€™t get it as not avail on the NHS

:sob:

It was originally for advanced but recent studies has shown efficacy for early stage too (reduces reoccurrence by as much as 25%!)

Iā€™m gutted as dr confirmed once you hit the year mark you donā€™t move protocols to latest ones ā€¦

Must stop reading Dr Google I reckon
Xx

Wow you do have a lot going off. My hospital fir radio is around 5 minutes away. Think the parking will be hard. There is a free minibus but it will depend on my appointment times as i donā€™t want to be waiting most of the day for lift if my appointment is only half an hour. Will be able to sort out after thur. My son did a bit of revision but didnā€™t start until wed/Thursday. Its like pulling teeth lol. Im fed up if nagging too. I do feel they do enough while they are at school. Take care :slightly_smiling_face:

My radio appts never run on time so bear that in mind too

And guess all 15 yr old boys are the same
So many other things more interesting than revising haha

Christmas cake in the oven :yum: first cake Iā€™ve made for a long time!

Tbh I am dreading the EC and cold cap, struggling much more with EC than paclitaxol with side effects.

With the radiotherapy does the tiredness build up? Also do you need to hold your breath?

Its interesting what drugs are in the pipeline @idcand49 I donā€™t suppose there is a trial for it?

My hair is no agreeing with the EC so I have started wearing hats. Maybe will have it cut short.

Hope everyone has a good weekx

Trials are now in my notebook for appt in 3 weeks - great to ask.

My Christmas cake was my 2nd bake of sorts since this drama started late Feb. Felt so good to have the energy , headspace , drive to do it :yum: glad you did yours too.

Radio fatigue has defo hit me but also wonder if the daily appts has made me exercise less too so that impacting it. Canā€™t wait for it to be over

I donā€™t need to hold my breath as itā€™s the right side & no burns just a stiff shoulder & arm right now

Sorry that EC is :poop: - I found cold capping was only bearable with painkillers & lorazepam - hope youā€™re getting meds too?

I had a call today so tired of my headband so wore it down. The recruiter didnā€™t seem to clock how thin via the screen which was a win.

Off for an early supper & bed xx

Hi everyone

After having my 12 taxol - Had my second ec on the 24th October and my hair started the big shed exactly 21 days after my first EC (which was Weds last week) I feel like Iā€™ve lost loads but still have a full covering for now.

Iā€™ve had a heavy cold on top of it all caught from my teenager so had a full plethora of bloods and cultures done but only mild infection thank god - so just some antibiotics.

@idcand49 im going to be having Abemaciclib (cos of my grade 3 :see_no_evil:) for early breast cancer and which i think is like the one you have mentioned - if i can tolerate on top of all the other stuff and zoladex.

@booklover1 i hate EC too. Taxol was honestly a walk in the park compared to this (although my cold hasnā€™t helped things)

Praying I have enough hair left for the last two cold cap sessions! Roll on the 21st for my last one.

Hope everyone ok.
Sorry to moan :see_no_evil:

I donā€™t think you are moaning at all. But if you need to then moan away. Sending love. X

I know ill sound a bit thick. But what exactly is a booster. At my meeting about radiotherapy i was told im having 15 sessions and a booster. I know i should have asked more questions but it was the day id been kept waiting an hour and half and wasnā€™t very well. Iā€™ve heard it mentioned on here before but a bit unsure. X

@debi1 Iā€™m having 5 sessions to my whole breast and then 5 booster sessions just to the surgical bed where it actually was. I was told I was only getting 5 but I think my age and type I had is why Iā€™m getting the booster ones. I was there yesterday and start on the 18th. Felt a bit off all weekend and woke up with a horrible cold and sore throat. Hopefully itā€™ll all be gone by then.

Hope everything goes ok for you on the 7th.

Hope everyone is doing ok with their chemo and radiotherapy. Xx

Thankyou. Like i said should have asked more questions. Just assume they know best and let them crack on i suppose. Sorry youā€™re not well. Ive also a bit of a head cold. Ive been fine throughout treatment as soon as it finished i got this. Not too bad though. Going for covid jab this morning to get it over with before radio starts. Take care. X

@kerrylou1 sorry youā€™re feeling rubbish
Heavy cold & chemo donā€™t go hand in hand & hope the post EC days are kind to you

If you stay sofa bound I recommend Rivals. Itā€™s such glam trash :joy:

Re post chemo drugs I remember the locum mentioning the drug with the A so may bring that one up too on the 25th. From what ChatGPT says Kisqali is similar but is a 3 weeks on 1 week off protocol but until the NICE approve it guess thereā€™s no access to it

Anyways the 21st will be here soon and cold capping will be done
I have my Zoladex in the chemo ward and I couldnā€™t help but stare at the Paxman machine without any fond memories (the smell of ice makes me feel a bit meh)

@debi1 good luck with your radio this week
I have Moogoo which apparently helps (I only put it on twice a day after radio, I just canā€™t remember to do it haha)

Have a fab day all x

Hi @debi1

Maybe a call to the BCN nurses to talk through the need for a booster radiotherapy would be helpful

Has anyone else been called back for another planning CT scan?

So I rang the bell and cried so I look awful in this photo. So glad that chemo is over. Still visiting the unit every 3 weeks for injections but thatā€™s manageable.
Terrible rash on my face at mo but Iā€™m sure it will get better in the coming weeks.
Radiotherapy for 5 days starting on the 19th. Then hormone therapy ā€¦ feels never ending
Sending big hugs to you all
