Hi @rfmeh

My hair is nearly all gone, when it got to prickly we shaved it to a 1 which helped.

I ended up in hospital again but luckily sent home earlier than lastvtime with antibiotics, i feel very weak but glad to be at home. I thank you all, i find some of the professionals i speak to have lost some empathy, likely due to being busy.

@runnerjen i hope your neasea tablets have worked.

Great advice for the nail products helpful, and the rosemary hair.

You look fabulous

Thanks trix they did work and the steroids, so the nausea has gone. I just feel a bit woozy / wobbly and tired but I got that last time for an about a week so it seems the same. It’s a shame as it stops me getting out for a walk apart from maybe a few steps in the garden. I find my DIEP flap tummy feels tighter when I am less active so that’s frustrating but maybe by next week I’ll feel a bit better again. The dreaded injections start today.

Hope everyone is doing better today x

I had my 3rd (and last!) EC today. A very experienced nurse administered and gave me some good advice about my corded vein, in case anybody elses vein has been shot by Epirubicin. He said to apply heat and ice alternately and to massage it (painful) as much as possible with moisturisers. Also stretch it out as much as you can as it will contract and eventually never be able to straighten if you don’t.
Starting Paclitaxel and Phesgo August 12th…see what that brings! Although I’ve been told I won’t be having any Pegfilgristim injection with that! And maybe less steroids.
Hope everything is going ok for everyone on cycles this week. And everyone coping with side effects xxx

Fantastic news that you’re done with EC!
I can’t wait to get my third one over with-currently finding no. 2 much tougher than the first one as others have said.

I’ve found I no longer like tea! It doesn’t taste of anything and just makes my mouth feel like stinging nettles. I now drink squash or water and it’s so weird because I used to be such a tea belly :grinning: anyone else found there taste buds have changed?
I’m currently day 9 of EC number 3 and the fatigue is intense. It really does seem to be cumulative

Hi @twinks77 - yes, I’m finding my taste buds have changed. I’m also a tea fiend - I’m finding that for a couple of days post-AC, tea tastes vile. But after that it goes back to normal! I think I am getting phantom smells though - I’ve never had a good sense of smell, but now I’m sure I’m smelling things that aren’t there

I can’t wait to finish AC. I had my third on Tuesday, and yesterday I was in bed all day and could hardly walk. I’m a bit more normal today, but still feel a bit weak. It scares me to think what this stuff is doing to my body (besides the obvious!). I can’t wait to get my body back.

My taste buds have dulled down slightly and I think things are starting to taste ever so slighty metallic!

Hi everyone xx.

I’m on day 8 of EC2 and just starting to come out of the fatigue. I have definitely felt weaker this time than the first one. The indigestion is annoying, and my mouth tastes horrible after I have eaten anything. I’m a squash drinker anyway and find that’s still about the best option. That and waking up throughout the night is a pain. I can’t wait to be done with EC - one more for me, then it’s docetaxel and goodness knows what that will bring.

Yesterday I did start to feel better late afternoon and it was right after scoffing some Fox biscuits so I am going to make sure I have some ready for the next cycle just in case they are a miracle food  My other favourite snack at the moment is a cheese string. Got to look for those small moments of joy.

I bought a tin of the rich bee balm, it’s lovely. I did myself a mini manicure this afternoon and it’s very nice. Thanks for the tip - I forget who suggested that one! x

My taste buds have gone weird and my sense of smell is really acute now! That with texture of food being difficult too! Ice cubes now smell a bit like cabbage! Oh the joy of it all…have a great weekend all!

Hi, I am a few weeks ahead of you ladies. I had 3 x EC 3 weeks apart, followed by 3 docetaxel at 3 weeks apart. I had the last one 17/7/25. I haven’t had a problem with my nails at all. The filgramstin has been a bit debilitating, pain in calves and bad fatigue but last one tonightšŸ‘ The Docetaxel did seem to accumulate from #2 to #3. My hair completely fell out after 2nd EC and I have just embraced the bald look.
I’m moving onto 15 sessions of radiotherapy over 3 weeks and then hormonal treatment tablets. It has been a crazy year which started with a double mastectomy…roll on 2026.
But I still find something numerous every day to keep me going and be positive :+1:

Lovely to hear from someone who’s finished chemo-are you starting to feel better again? I’m on the same treatment plan as you and will be so delighted when chemo is over…

I’m another one on the same plan, it’s great to hear that you’re getting through it all - it really helps. I can’t wait to finish chemo, just had another filgrastim jab, I must have 21 left to go in total! I’ll celebrate tomorrow night with the last one for cycle 2 though - I’m always trying to find things to be grateful for and any small win counts!

I am hoping my weapons grade indigestion is going to ease off a bit in time for bed. I have asked my nurse for a prescription for round 3 because this is not responding well to gaviscon now. I’ve never really had it before so it’s been quite the surprise how horrible it is!

I hope everyone is doing better for the weekend x

I’ve had mega acid reflux so next cycle I’ve been given some omeprazole to get me through. The gavascon helps and a low acid diet also but it’s not quite enough. I had one horrible night after eating too much cheese so that’s off the menu for now.

Hi @jenny4 yes I am feeling loads better now the chemo is finished. I have had measuring scan for radiotherapy which was fine. Bit nervous about the first session but will go in with a positive attitude. I hope you get on as well.

Thanks for the cheese tip! The cheese strings can wait until week 3 when I should be ok again!
