I’ve had the affected taste for a while now. I’ve discovered putting strawberries in lemonade is ok but lemonade on its own tastes horrible. I’m now drinking a lot of fizzy drinks like Diet Coke when I didn’t really like them before.
The taste is getting me down. Can’t enjoy any normal food. Hoping it will settle soon.
I started on omeprazole in EC#1 for reflux. Then in EC #3 they told me I could double the dose. I struggled even on the double dose in EC#4 so they are changing my medication to Lansoprazole. Am
Hoping this will improve things.
I go in on Monday for Paclitaxel. I have 4x2 weekly. A whole new set of side effects. As much as EC was building and becoming hard to tolerate. At least I knew what was coming. I am really hoping and praying PAC is lighter on the side effects.
I’m due to have my 11th pac on Tuesday. I’ve found the tiredness builds each week and also days 4/5 I’m emotional and v tired, then on day 6 my energy picks back up again. Theres no take home meds just anti sickness. It’s better than ec but not a walk in the park x
Hi @moomoo716@runningandgin
my friend had pac and said she was a bit achey, had a bit of nerve pain with tingles and itchy skin but nothing like the nausea and foggy head of EC. Obviously everyone is different but from what I’ve heard it’s not as tough. Plus she also said that she didn’t need the anti sickness, steroids, injections.
I’ve got my 3rd EC Thursday next week and then move onto Docetaxal (3 x rounds). Hope Docetaxal is similar to pac.
Today we clippered off the rest of my hair, on a 3 guard. It was pulling on my scalp in bed last night despite a silk pillowcase and I realised enough was enough! It looked so patchy, kept coming out and I just wanted it gone. My fabulous stepdaughter came over and did it for me and it feels so much better!
I have got a stack of neck warmers / buffs, plus a few beanies and some pre-tied bandanas but so far the neck warmers seem comfy and easy so I can see me living in them.
Ha! Excellent. I have my husband lined up to do the honours this afternoon. ( my daughter wasn’t up for it). I’m fed up of the wispy old man hair now. I hope I feel badass too
Oh good luck! It must be the day for it for us both. I do feel better. I also used a lint roller on my head after, it works to get some more off, and I also gave it a gentle rub with a towel outside. Definitely keeping the lint roller handy though to give it a quick roll now and then xx
I’ve got a bog standard Tesco one for clothes. It’s probably not going to be suggested anywhere else or by anyone sensible but I found it strangely satisfying!
Ok question for the early June starters who are now expert level at mega short hair - are you guys wearing anything on your head at night for sleeping? Does it depend how warm it is? I guess as the seasons turn we will want soft beanies to sleep in.
I found wearing a sleep hat really helped as it was quite sore with prickly hair on pillow case. And your head gets really tender when it starts to shed. I still wear one now as stops and friction and helps it grow more evenly x
I wore a bamboo beanie from Etsy to sleep in at first because I was still shedding loads. Each morning the inside It would be full of hair and I’d lint roller it and wash it every few days (the beanie not my head). I’ve noticed I no longer shed , not completely bald as I still have a bit of fluff, so now I sometimes go bareheaded in bed .
