So if it’s in your lymph nodes you need 18 lots of treatment? x
They are not saying its in the lymph nodes its 5cm and grade 3. Lymph nodes look clear under MRI. Chemo is six sessions over 18 weeks. Sorry if I confused anyone I’m only just getting my head round it. Yes I feel sorry for people with young children too.
Hi t.c it’s very daunting I know. It sounds like we are having the same treatment. I’ve just had my first one and I’m ok there are some threads on here going through treatment and the tips and advice they give are so useful and as everyone on here very helpful and supportive. Also Barry once you know nikkis start date it would be very helpful to you both too xxxxxx
Hi Sarhad thank you can you recommend a particular thread
I’m still lurking on this board too. I love following all your posts, I just don’t post myself very often. I’m now 13 days post completion mastectomy which took place 4 weeks after a therapeutic mammoplasty which sadly didn’t have clear margins. I will see my surgeon on Friday for final time (I think) when I hope to get my treatment plan. Hoping against hope it’s not chemo, but if it is offered I have decided I will take it to try and kill this bl**dy thing as dead as a I can! Anyway, I’m rambling, what I wanted to ask was if anyone here gave any gifts to their surgeons/breast care teams at the end of their (surgical) treatment? And how they were received? I’d quite like to but I’m not sure if it is the ‘done thing’. I might post this as a separate question on the board, but thought I’d ask you knowledgable crowd in here first. Many thanks, have a good Wednesday, Chris x
Staff in the NHS have to declare gifts as they work for a public body are not supposed to have personal gain. Something like a tin of chocolates or basket of fruit that the ward/ team can share would be good. Its the thought that counts and would be much appreciated.
I get all the books from Amazon. I’m yet to start my treatment. So far have had ct scan which I’m still nervously waiting on results. I’m starting my chemo next Wednesday and my last one will be 23rd dec then having mastectomy. I was shocked when they decided this way round but fully support the decision. I have a 1 and 5 year old xx
Morning everyone. Lisa what books do you recommend? It’s odd which way round they do surgery and chemo, I haven’t looked into the reasons yet x
Lisa this is so hard on any family but with young children aswell. I finish in December too. Keep strong Hun big hugs to you xxxxxxxx
Big hugs to everyone going through this! x
Some surgeons decided to do chemo first to shrink the tumour and sometimes it makes it disappear I think it depends on the type of b.c it is
I took a card and chocs for every rad room I had used. They were lovely. Was looking for biscuit tin but couldn’t find any…must be a Christmas thing? X
Thanks Sarah same back to you. It’s so hard with little ones but then at times I do think the fact they are unaware is a bit easier. I can’t bring myself to say anything to my adorable 5 year old. She’s such a sensitive girl and practical my shadow. Barrie I think it’s just when the lump is big and hercep positive xxx
Oh Lisa what a nightmare with children. Do you have a good partner/ support? I hope so. Lorna x
Amazing husband and amazing family and friends. I’m very lucky in that sense. My mum has taken 6 months off working as a children’s nurse to be in hand with looking after me and kids xxx
Morning all ,I now have less radiotherapy sessions ahead of me than behind me!!!Chris hope you get the news you want on Friday,

Good news Jill, a little milestone for you x
Have you tried them deep fried with chocolate fondue Chris??
Great news Jill… Not long now before you launch your bra down the river! X
