Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Barry do you have a nutri bullet? I bought one a month ago and use it every day. Some don’t taste great but most are good. I think they are a good thing to have as you build up to chemo. I’m not great with fruit and veg but you can pack them all into a smoothie so easily. I have just made one called the mean green in prep for my first chemo session tomorrow. I have used kale spinach apples pineapple ginger and lemon. It says to use celery too but I find it awful with it in xxx

Google is conflicting for everything! Some say soy is good and some say bad. Fingers crossed Nikki won’t find it too uncomfortable. I’ll be Nikki’s nutrionist and fitness guru at this rate x

Lol we have a nutribullet. Nikki got me it for my birthday in June. The last couple of weeks we’ve used it. We’re having blueberries, strawberries, spinach and sunflower seed combo at the moment. It’s the most spinach I’ve eaten in my life. Plus this week I’ve made broccoli and turmeric soup. Never seen so many green! Xx

I use my nutri bullit everyday this morning I have had spinach avocado blueberries raspberries grapes and banana it was lovely xx

I make shakes too but mix with yogurt… I’m guessing that’s not good if milk isn’t? X

Sarah I like the sound of that one. Nikki doesn’t eat bananas but substitute strawberries for it and we have the rest in the fridge. How long have you had your nutribullet? x

Honestly Lorna I’ve just been on a website that is saying wholemeal bread chickpeas beans peas flaxseed sesame seeds are all no good for cancer but if you want to go on a healthy diet this us the things you should eat! It’s hard to tell what’s right and what’s wrong. Xxxxxxx

Depends how much. If it’s how you increase your fruit and veg intake then it’s not bad x

Using strawberries in that one is fine it sweetens it up. It’s all goodness until Google tells us otherwise  xx

Hopefully the nutritionist can give some guidance. I’m thinking stuff that definitely is “bad” you should reduce or stop consuming. Small amounts of most things isn’t wrong but it’s the cumulative affect. Every little helps though x

Haha true. I’ve not seen anything bad said about strawberries yet! x

Gosh really Sarah! It’s a minefield isn’t it. Be good to hear what your nutritionist tells you…can’t win can we but as Barry says…moderation in all things. Been my mantra through life ( look were it got me! ) Lol x

The whole diet thing has got me a little bit obsessed over these past few weeks. But if nothing else it’s been a good distractions. My head is a bit baffled by it all. Yes Sarah I bet you have just done what I did ten mins ago and Google oestrogen foods!!! Brilliant everything I have been stuffing my face with actually increases it!!! Then I tried a different approach and googled foods to reduce oestrogen and thank the Lord I have been eating tons of those!! Coffee apparently can increase by 70%. Scary stuff. It’s the nuts and seeds that freaked me out. But also says no to animal fats which is what I have been saying all along to my friends and family who will listen. My husband says I will be out hugging trees before long!! Xxx

Thanks Lisa I will Google that. But then I readaccede has anti cancerous properties!? Nuts the same,. Sigh x

Haha to your husbands comment Lisa. So no tea, coffee, Coke or energy drinks for a starters. Tut tut to caffeine x

Neither of us drink tea or coffee, but Nikki is a bit of a diet coke fiend. She’s been good over the last couple of weeks though x

pops I live on diet Pepsi!! Better start cutting down now :frowning: x

It might be just coincidence. We don’t want to scare people who drink it or be sued by Coke or Pepsi! x

True Barry  need roper medical checks to determine that. A little of what you fancy is good for you xx

Yep once a week should do it lol x
