Been here for 25 years now but born and brought up in Liverpool.Love the fact that I can see the mountains of the lakes from my bedroom window but this is a sleepy place ,have to go to Manchester or Liverpool for any excitement , not that I’m up for much of that right now give me a couple of weeks!!!
You see there is always someone worse off than you!!!
Not that that helps when you are feeling pissed off, wish my husband would stop saying that!!
I was born in Liverpool Jill. Live in Chorley now x
Where in Liverpool are you from?
Kirkby …the posh part most of family from old swan and knotty ash …what about you? X
Like the way you said posh part of Kirby!!!Im from Allerton.
Ha ha I knew you would spot that …x
Where is the posh part of Kirkby???
Lol there isn’t one! West vale. Actually it was surrounded by fields when I was there. Used to pinch the peas from the farmers field. A hundred years ago. Left when I was 6 after my dad died x
Morning all. Planning our **bleep** you breast cancer get together will be interesting, given where we all live! I live in Rutland, smallest county in England, sandwiched between Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. Only about 11 miles across and with the highest council tax in Britain outside London! Not many people to pay for the services here so that’s why we get walloped. Still we have the lovely Rutland Water, largest man made reservoir in Britain and a great reserve for birds. Do lots of walking around it when I’m feeling up to it. I reckon it will have to be Birmingham or somewhere like that for a meet,? Talking about annoying sayings, ‘you have to be grateful for small mercies’ gets on my nerves and ‘cancer isn’t the death sentence it used to be’ , gee thanks. You have to laugh! Let’s hope we all have a better day around the UK. X Francine
Morning Francine and everyone else. Sounds like a scenic place to live x
Never been to Birmingham!!! People come out with some crass statements don’t they.Girding my loins to go back to work in next few weeks have to see O H first wonder what pearls of wisdom they will come out with.??
Jill it will be, are you ready to, don’t over do it. Let them know if you need to change hours, gradually coming back etc. Probably ask about diet and exercise too.
Yes ,Im going to ask to gradually build up hours over a month, will get a “fit note” from G.P to support that.Work is a double edged sword as it will be good to have something else to think about but I have to be mentally with it enough to cope with quite a stressful job, can’t say please can you phone back tomorrow I’m not up to dealing with your problems today can you??
I would get signed off for as long as you can until you feel you are ready don’t go back to soon and get stressed I’m sure your gp will sign you off again xxxxxx
Yes Im going to ask for another. 2 weeks which will take me to a month after finishing rads.Couldnt entertain work yet ,too sore, too tired and mentally not right as yet.But if I leave it too long will struggle to go back at all.
After everything you have been through to just turn it off and say you can go back to normality do you have an occupational health at your place? Might be worth seeing them and telling them about anxiety xxxxxx
Morning all, don’t rush back Jill. I was thinking of working my good weeks during chemo but I am not sure now. Could do a bit of working from home so I avoid difficult customers. Xxx
There have been days through this round of chemo when I thought I could do a few hours work if I was working but you have to be careful on low immunity days. I saw a thread I. Here Jill it’s on living with and beyond might be worth seeing how other people cope xxxxxxxxxx
