Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Morning everyone. Here’s to a better day for us all.

I had a bit of mad panic just before bed last night when I noticed a lump just below my implant and just above where the drain sites were. it suddenly became really stiff and uncomfortable. Was planning on calling the clinic first thing but it seems to have subsided quite a lot over night although is still a bit stiff. Don’t think there is anything big enough to drain there though today (sorry for that image if anyone is eating their cornflakes) so will see how it goes as day progresses.

Oh and another Liverpool lass here. Born in Walton, grew up in Litherland.

I will dip my toe in the work pond gradually I think.Ange can you be that flexible in your job ,if so that’s good at least it gives you choices ,will you have toddler to deal with if you work at home?Maybe you could see how you are after first round of chemo. The right sort of job can take you mind off cancer I guess focus on something else.

Your body can absorb the fluid sometimes Peggy,I was about to go and get my Seroma drained again but when I woke up that morning it has disappeared!!

Thanks Jill, that’s what I was hoping had happened. Think I was just a bit panicky last night as I really don’t feel I’ve suffered hugely post-op up to now and guess I thought it was my time.

Over the last few days my mind has drifted to thoughts of work and I was going to log in to work email today just to see if i could clear a few things but I’ve decided to watch crap telly instead. I certainly found work quite theraputic when I was having initial tests and waiting for diagnosis and op and hopefully I will again in the future but I think you are all right that we mustn’t push ouselves to go back too soon. x

There are things I could do from home, but his nibs would have to arrange sone childcare as I don’t think I could do both. I am sat watching television while the monster is trashing my house. I am not going to tidy it today I am going to leave it so hubby can see what he is doing xx

Good plan ange  x

Very good plan  xxxxxx

Kids are great at sensing what you are not 100% and taking advantage of the situation aren’t they!!!Does he go to nursery ?

Has anyone asked their doc about regularly taking aspirin or Ibuprofen to reduce cancer occurence?

No Barry but my Dr told me years ago to take 75 ml of asprin every day . I did for a while but stopped a few years back as my iron levels kept dropping which often indicates internal bleed. Had investigations but never got to bottom of it. My onc told me to go back to Dr about it. Have you read about ph balance and how effective it can be to control it? Interesting read x

I don’t imagine the oncs are going to advise much on stuff like this but cancer research UK cover most things in great detail. X

Hope your appointment with surgeon goes well tomorrow Barry and Nikki.

Thanks Jill. Me too! x

Wish Nikki good luck for tomorrow Barry. Keep us posted xx

Make sure you write down anything important you want to ask, and don’t be afraid to ask him to repeat anything or explain anything you don’t understand x
