Hello everyone, I started chemo today, the first of 6 cycles of FEC-T. Got PICC line in the good arm yesterday and still healing from the surgeries but at the moment got a headache, feel nauseous but hungry. So glad the first one done, looking for any tips but will work my way through these threads. Xx
Day 5 feeling awful but don’t know if it’s the chemo or the zarzios injections. Keep thinking it can only get better and so looking forward to that day.
Hope everybody else ok,
Sending hugs to all xxx

Hello all, Wanted to introduce myself. Starting FEC tomorrow - 3 doses 3 weekly followed by Taxol 12 doses weekly. Am a month post mastectomy for 760mm grade 2 LCS with 3 axillary lymph nodes. Am 36 and trying to balance all of this with family life. Looking for tips and inspiration to ease my anxiety!
Hi all, feeling almost Human today, thank goodness! Yes I having 7 days zarzios after chemo to boost blood. I think the worse side effect was the pain all over but mainly at mastectomy site, despite all the exercises it just seized up and I couldn’t move the shoulder or arm, starting to loosen up now.
Hi makingmestronger and all other March starters. I’m 37 and also trying to carry on with family life. Had the first of 6 fec-t a couple of weeks ago and feeling ok. Tried the cold cap so just waiting for my hair to start shedding within the next week or so… hopefully not too much!
Hi Katflo- welcome and good luck with your treatment. I just wanted to say that I’ve had 2 cycles of EC with a cold cap and I’ve still got most of my hair. It’s thinner and a bit frizzy but no one can really tell so keep your fingers crossed and make sure it fits really tightly!
Hi all , lynneq , I hope you did get some sleep, and things are not too rough over the next few days.
Welcome to all the other newbies on this thread, glad to meet you but obviously wish it wasn’t on here.
Hope everybody is coping ok, get all the support you can for the bumpy ride ahead if you need it, don’t be afraid to say help, we all need a little sometimes.
Sending hugs to all

One thing I meant to mention again Ladies is a charity called ‘Heathers Hair’ they make fringes and half heads of hair on hair bands…have one of each which I’ve worn under my elasticated scarf in the summer…,very effective…will source the site and post again…it’s a free service, but good to donate a small sum as they all do it for free. ? loads a luv and hugs.

Hey All
So I had my second Chemo Session last Thursday and its been an interesting one.
I was given a different anti-sickness regime which hasn’t seemed to have worked at all for me. 7 days later and I still feel a bit queasy at times. One of the pills i was given had to be cut in four and taken before bedtime. I ended up having problems distinguishing reality from fiction whilst I was on it so had to call my nurses and say I didn’t think i could finish the course.
My hair fell out on Monday despite tryng the cold cap. I made the decision to cut it all off that afternoon and feel a whole lot better for doing it. I’ve been given a wig voucher from the NHS but to be honest I am so over hair right now I’m happy to just tie a bandana round my head.
Its not been the best week but the one thing that keeps sitting in my head is the phrase “this too shall pass”. I keep telling myself this won’t be forever and that seems to get me through.
I hope all of you are doing well and I send my love to you all.

Hi ladies. I had my first fec chemo today. I had worked myself up so much that I sobbed my way through it! The nurses and other patients were wonderfully patient and reassuring! I feel a bit queasy and ‘spacey’ but not sure how much of this is my imagination! I have an anti sickness tablet to take tonight so hopefully that will work. I’ve hardly slept or eaten for days so I should be tired but although my body is, my brain doesn’t seem to be.
Morning ladies like most of you decided to shave my hair after couple of stressful days of shredding feel and look much better xxx
Morning ladies, having a moment, one of many since yesterday. Have been given appt for ultrasound on enlarged nodes left side which were detected on CT, when I was told CT was clear, do you think I could ask for a copy of the report? After mastectomy and ANC right side, starting chemo and telling my children my CT was clear, I feel like I’ve been hit sideways !! So sorry for rant, think I need sleep and answers !!
Love to all .
Xx
Hi ladies
Annig, hope you get some answers soon x
Pam - well done p, know how you feel xx
After handfuls of hair falling out, I also braved the shave on Tuesday, just starting to get used to it. Strangely now it’s shaved, think less is falling out out, or at least it seems that way as I’m still losing hair in other areas (didn’t use cold cap).
I have ordered Talika, a gel for eyebrow growth in a vain attempt to keep some eyebrow hair! And maybe even some eyelashes too. Will let you know if it works. Managed to get booked in to look good feel good session, have heard they are really good.
Starting to think about next chemo on Tuesday, hoping the next one won’t be any worse than the first!
Hope you you are all doing well.

Morning ladies,
Thanks Moijan, hoping by having results I can then ask more questions about them, I do have a little knowledge. Hope you are ok?
Mindy7, thanks you also and hope you are ok as well.
I too am starting to thin on top, have wig ready to go but I will be honest and say losing my hair doesn’t bother me too much, it will be, hopefully, a short term measure !
Physically feeling not too bad and I too am hoping the next one , another 10 days away, is bearable.
Thinking of you all
Annig

Hello Lynnq,
The port thing is in - at same day I did my first chemo … a lttle o dizziness at night a lttle diarrhea and a problem that i had with my left ear is increasing- feels like water in it- tommorrow I’m getting ready for second out of 12 … the thing is I need to keep working
Yesterday I went and tried some wigs- is there a clue when Or how can i cut my hair; woman at the store told me it’s not good to shave your head but to leave a little hair
I hope it settles done Annig. I get given something called sorbaderm to put on under my PICC dressing. It’s on a stick and you wipe it over the skin before putting the dressing on. It acts as a barrier to prevent the plaster allergy and it works for me.
