Hi Lindiloo: Have not booked the gym yet. My ankles and feet have gone really swollen and its very difficult to walk the skin is that tight, so I dont know if it is the Herceptin or Tamoxifen causing it, must be one or the other as i have never had it before, and I am very breathless. Go for 2nd Herceptin tomorow so I will show the oncologist. Apart from that I am not as down in the dumps. Thanks for asking. Hope you enjoyed your day off work and the shopping, get anything nice? Sorry to hear your ankles and feet are swollen - the fact the you are breathless too makes me think you have fluid around the lungs too so please be careful and behonest with your docs.

Sorry to hear your ankles and feet are swollen makeing it difficult for you to walk, it must be awfull for you, did you see your oncoligist about it?, if its the Tamoxifen mabe a different brand might help, i also sometimes get days when im quite breathless too its awfull isnt it, i was wondering if it has anything to do with the Tamoxifen or mabe the Rads ,im not like it everyday so i dont think its anything too serious but yesterday i felt quite breathless all day ,im gonna mension it too when i go back to see my onc .I was also wandering if it had anything to do with the weight gain around my stomache,cos i ofen feel quite bloated.
Hope everthing went ok today with your herceptin and your ok, hows it going? hope its not too bad for you side effect wise.
Well you take good care of yourself and i realy hope youve managed to get some answers from your onc about your symptoms

I had a fab birthday. Went to see dirty dancing which was fantastic - its one of my favourite films - love all the music - and the lead man had a fantastic body!!! WEnt out for a lovely meal last night - had some champers during the day, another bottle with meal, some wine and a couple of cocktails - so now home with heartburn!! serves me right.
Off to bed as working tomorrow.

What a hardship for you having to buy new tops - lol. I was good in London - only bought 1 pair of trousers. Thought I had better start curbing my spending now as I have been going a bit mad lately.
I did have a 12 hour shift today - thats me well and truly back to normal. Had a really busy day too - never really sat down and just grabbed snacks on the run sort of thing so it was well and truly back to earth with a thump!! Back at work to do it all again tomorrow - yipeeeee

Fi, hope work went ok today, soon back to the grindstone eh, trips away go all to fast dont they but glad you had a brill time and didnt overspend too much. I know what you mean about splashing out a bit lately ive been the same over the last few months , think its just a bit of retail therapy (lots of treats) but i too will have to tighten my purse strings a bit me thinks. My sister is comeing down on friday so i expect we will go out lots , it will be good to see her as havent seen her since DX cos she lives up in lincs.So lots of catching up to do, just hope the weather holds out , it was a lovely warm weekend but today we had lots of hailstones and was cold, urghhh roll on the bloomin summer eh.

Def back to the grindstone - with a vengence - I was trainaing some other people this morning then moved to another ward to work after that - they were really busy - and its a much bigger floor area - so have come home with sore legs and back still sore - just goes to show you how tired we can get easily. My muscles ache more than after a gym session with all the walking around.
Have a lovely weekend with you sister - you deserve lots of catching up.
I am going to have a nice long lie tomorrow hopefully.

Fi, glad work went ok and sorry you ended up with a sore back and legs, your right about getting tired easily, i too get tired quite easily it just seems to creep up on you doesnt it ,without warning, just when i think im going along fine out of nowhere il get a day when im totally knackered, spose its our body just reminding us not to overdo it to much as we are not quite up to par yet.
Hope you managed to have a nice long lie in this morning ,what have you been up to today anything nice? its been pouring down with rain here so pretty yuck , i only had 2 jobs today so was home early afternoon . Got a 2nd reminder through the post about haveing a smear test done ive been putting it off (i know stupid but) ive been so fed up with all prodding and pokeing this last yr that i realy didnt want it (or want to know anyway) no excuse i know but thats how i felt, anyway have just rang the Gps and am going friday afternoon,so better to get it over with i guess urghhhhh.

Tiredness is definately an issue. I cant believe I did all that decorating right after rads and starting work - I lay till about 930 this morning and did not have the energy to go to gym. I had to go into town - was spending birthday vouchers - so I have ordered free standing speakers and docking station for my ipod - thats the only way I listen to music now and its an awesome sound so cant wait to get that. Also bought a pair of summer shoes. Then went to visit my pal in hospital - she was admitted today for reversal of sterilisation tomorrow - so I really hope it works for her.
Glad you have made an appointment with your gp for smear - I would have nagged you into it otherwise - it would have been silly of you not to.
I am actually having a bone scan on Friday for my sore back. Spoke to my bc nurse about it last week and she said if it remains sore she would refer me. I e mailed her last night as I cant get it off my mind - I am quite sure it nothing (but thats what I thought about breast lump) - so am getting it done to put my mind at ease - once I get results I will book summer hol - all being well!! One of my best mates has a cousin who had bc - had treatment, then put up with a sore back for ages - and she is now not in a good place!! So just being safe!! I know every little ache and pain we are going to worry - but best to check things out.
I am working again tomorrow, but then off till next Wed - so thats gonna be good.

,Glad you managed to get what you wanted with your birthday vouchers, the speekers and docking station for your ipod sounds great. how is your mate? hope she is ok and her op went ok.Its good that your going to get your sore back checked out like you say its proberly nothing but better to get it checked then it will put your mind at ease.
Bloody aches and pains its awfull isnt it, we proberly wouldnt have taken much notice of them before, but now they always get me thinking the worst, silly i know .I remember when i finished rads the doc said you will get aches and pains ,but try not to worry about it as youve still gotta live your life but if they last longer than a couple of weeks to get it checked out .
I streached my arm out a couple of weeks ago (BC side where i had some nodes removed) and got a realy sharp pain up it, ever since it has been realy acheing and if
i lift anything heavy or go to pull the car door shut i get a sharp pain in it again from shoulder to elbow, im hopeing its just muscular but it isnt improveing, cant even do my bra up without pain,it doesnt help that with my other arm ive had problems with my wrist since chemo , so haveing problems with both arms at the minute , am gonna ask about it when i go to Gps friday, cos like you need to know its nothing untoward.

As you know my sister is comeing friday so we will have lots of days out around cornwall , proberly go over to Newquay one day and see my son ,hes been over there for the last 18 mths (hes 17) and is one of jamie olivers fifteen cornwall trainees, he graduates in june so guess il get to meet jamie oliver then lol (hope ive got more hair by then )

Work was ok today - not to busy. Had an appointment with genetics today - its pretty complicated but as well as testing for the brca 1 gene now, they have found a strong family history on my dads side of stomach cancer, and they have had another family with the same - ie strong family history of stomach cancer in a family with a female getting bc, so if dad agrees, they want to test us both for the stomach cancer gene to!!! Does this never end?
Did you have ‘cording’ under your arm - just wandered if you pinged one of them when you stretched. Keep an eye on it tho and speak to your gp.
Have a few plans for some of my days off - apart from visit my mate in hossie - I went to see her after I finished tonight and the op went well and shes doing ok. I am going to take Suzie to cinema on friday to see Being Sarah Marshall - if she gets in - as its a 15 and she is petite - but we will try. We will then have a chinese carry out on way home. On Monday, our kids have no school so we are having a family surprise get together for my aunties 70th birthday - she thinks we are going out for a meal for my birthday, as I wouldnt have been able to catch up with dad properly before then - all lies - so there will be me, dad, suzie, my niece, my auntie, her sister and brother in law. She will kill us but it will be good.- so going out for a nice lunch at a lovely place overlooking the sea.
Bet you cant wait to see your sister.

I spoke to dad last night about genetics - he will get the test but if he was to come back positive I dont know if he would go for screeing or anything - he said at his age is it worth it - will tackle that one if and when we need to.
My scan is in 2 parts - get the injection at 1030 then the scan at 1 30 - prob take about a week for results - have been quite blase that everythings gonna be fine but fonna be really nervous about the phonecall!!
That channel 4 programme has everyone talking doestnt it?? I CANNOT believe these people claim to be to shy to see their own GP but are willing to bear ALL on national telly - yeuuucccchhhhhh - there are some things that strangers just dont need to see eh?
Its a nice day here today so I dont know if I will be able to go swimming after my injection as its radioactive stuff - if not I will go for a long walk I think.

Im glad you were able to talk to your dad about the test and he is willing to have it done, i know it must be hard but at least you will know and hopefully it will be able to put your minds at rest.
How did your bone scan go? hope all went ok, i know what you mean about waiting for results its one of the hardest things to do isnt it, il be keeping everything crossed for you and am sure all will be ok.
Well , had the smear test done this afternoon ,we had a bit of a laugh about it in the end ,the nurse asked if another lady from the hospital could be there too as they have changed the way they do smears now, it wasnt as quick as usual but was ok and she was there to check the nurse did the test correctly ummmm lovely eh, but they were very nice and said although there is usealy a 4-6 week wait for results, they would rush them for me because of BC so i wouldnt have to worry about it for too long, that was nice of them, They seem to think i may have a trapped nerve in my arm and said if it hasnt improved by the time i go back to the onc on may 13th to tell him about it, so i hope thats what it is.
It was lovely to see my sister again we went to weatherspoons after docs (as you do lol) and had a couple of drinks and picked up a chinese take away to bring home which was nice. We have planned a few things to do while shes here ,hopefully a boat trip (weather permitting) also booked to have a meal at a new itialian resturant for weds night , and theres quite a few things going on here for the start of the tourist season from this weekend so should be good.
Know what you mean about that program embarrassing bodies lol, i was thinking the same as you they are so embarrassed about their ailments but were happy to show the nation ha was a little bit too graphic dont you think lol.
Hope you managed to have your walk in the sunshine.

It was beautiful here today again. Was going to go for a swim after injection part of scan but went for a long walk along beach instead - it was beautiful. Scan was fine - that was the easy bit - just have to wait now - back was sore even when walking along beach - hopefully its all muscular!!
Embarassing bodies was def too graphic - just didnt need to see all that.

Hope your ok, ive been out and about a bit this weekend so just come home for a nice relaxing evening, went out to have sunday lunch today which was lovely, the weather is realy warm today so decided after to take a walk down the seafront and through the town ended back at weatherspoons (again) and have not long got back.

Hope your back is getting better and is not too sore, did they give you a date for the results or are they just going to ring you when they are back, i know you said it will be about a week. Glad to hear your haveing lovely weather too isnt it great just like summer !

Nice to hear from you.
Am really worried about Jill - really hope she is ok.
Just been doing this and that really - swimming, garden, town. Back still sore but am taking regular ibuprofen as an anti inflammatory to see if that helps back and the rest of my joints which are painful. I didnt want to do that initially and mask any pain but now that I have had scan gonna take them regular and see what happens. No date for results. Will speak to bc nurse this week - I know she will phone me as soon as she has results, and I know she will chase these up, only thing is I KNOW she will tell me results are negative over phone so if she phones and asks me to come in and see a doc I will know something is up so kind of sh1tin myself!! Trying not to get too worked up about it.
I have my aunties 70th birthday tomorrow - we are going for lunch. She thinks we are going for lunch for my birthday so is in for a bit shock. I have 6 balloons with 70 all over them - some for middle of table and some for her chair. My dad, daughter and niece will all be waiting in place and I am picking up my auntie with her other sister and hubby. Its not her actual birthday till Sat but I am working all next weekend so she does not suspect a thing - I am even going to ask her when I pick her up if she fancies going for a meal for her birthday!!!
I love walks along seafront - how long is your seafront - we have 2 miles of beautiful golden fine sand - only trouble is its not normally warm enough to sunbathe - being scotland and all that - lol - but it is beautiful all the same.
Its a bank holiday here tomorrow - is it with you?
