What a lovely surprise it will be for you aunty tomorrow awh sounds lovely hope you all have a lovely time, did you buy anything nice in town ?.
I know its worrying about getting results back im sure all will be fine, try not to worry too much (i know easier said than done) its bloomin crap isnt it the waiting.
Im realy worried about Jill too i think her last post was about 10 days ago, i wish we could hear from her just to know everythings ok.
Our seafronts about a mile long i quess , we have 4 beaches here in Falmouth ,its a very rugged coastline and very unspoilt like yours beautifull. I can while away hours sitting on the clifftops with the waves crashing down and just watch the rest of the world go by. We have a harbour too, and the navy and cruise ships come in and we quite often see seals and dolphins and the occasional basking shark, its the start of the holiday season so we get quite a lot of holiday makers down from now to Sept , Its quite a slow pace of life though ,but i love it and its my home.
Which part of scotland are you from, its beautifull up there too isnt it, my mother in-law came from Aberdeen and my father-in-law from Dundee.so we are at opposite ends of the country lol.

First of all - WOW - cant believe we are on page 13.
Secondly - what a coincidence you mum in law coming from Aberdeen - thats exactly where I am - largish city I spose but a 5 minute drive from where I am and its beautiful countryside - or 5 mins the other way its the beach.
Lunch went great today - my auntie really did not have a clue - and never even noticed the 6 ballons with 70 on them till she sat down!!
When driving to where the restaurant was and home I took the scenic route - which follows the coastline - what I would pay to have a house look out onto the sea - never be able to afford a view like that tho!!
Did not buy anything in town yesterday - was just picking up voucher and balloons for my auntie today.
Its been a cracking day here today again - I love the summer but spose after what I/We have been through will need to take the tanning easy - my mate is already nagging at me about it if I go abroad - I normall start with factor 15 and go down to oil as I have a dark skin which tans easily - but I can see what shes saying - no point going thro all this to then get skin cancer - altho I suspect any damage would have been done years ago

Glad you had a lovely time today and your aunty enjoyed her birthday surprise.i bet she was thrilled to bits. I know what you mean about wanting a nice sun tan now the weather is hot , think i might have to buy some fake tan to start me off though , i know weve gotta be a bit carefull now and cover up, but like you say any damage was proberly done years ago when we all just layed in the sun for hours bakeing, ummm, but back then we realy didnt realy know the dangers did we.
Just been working today , then popped into town so a normal day for me, but we are all going on a boat trip tomorrow , just up the helford river its a 2 hr trip ,the boat stops off at a smuglars cottage where you can have a cream tea and a drink (fattening lol) so if the weather is like this it should be nice.
Its great that you have the best of both worlds up in Aberdeen it must be nice to have a city with plenty of shops to choose from and also to have the countryside and coast nearby for when you want to chill.
What you up to tomorrow? i remember you saying your back at work weds so make the most of this lovely weather while we can lol.
I realy wish there was someway we could get in touch with Jill, realy hope shes ok

Cream tea?? wouldnt fight you for that - dont like tea or coffee but if they did a lovely hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows then mmmmmmmmmmmm.
I am still full up from lunchtime so just gonna have a sandwich later if I’m peckish.
I know what you mean about getting in touch with Jill - really strange that she stopped mailing so suddenly - bit worrying - as you say - really hope she is ok - maybe she was just fed up of us lol.

Ive not been back long, OH and me have been out all afternoon with my sister and her OH its been a nice afternoon catching up on stuff had a bit of a pub crawl in the end (the fellas like their beer lol) says me
Just gonna have a relaxing evening tonight cos am a bit shattered now .Are you back at work tomorrow? Any news re your bone scan ? i suppose its still a bit early yet eh, i go back to see the onc next tues ,think its just a final check sort of thing 6 weeks after rads, then as far as i know not back till august when ive got 2 appointments one for mammo and one for tact 2 trial nurse.Not sure what happens after tues with onc but was told id be going between surgeon and onc for the next 5 yrs, so its good to know that they keep a good eye on you.

You had a much better day than I did - a pub crawl - fantastic!!!
I ended up working today as they needed senior cover for a complicated kid we have in so that was my day - I basically never sat down the whole day so my head and feet are tired - altho saying that my brain is still going at a rate of god knows what. I am on again tomorrow so will be doing it all again. That has been the busiest most complicated shift since I went back so at least I know my brain still works - lol
No word about scan. E mailed bc nurse yesterday but she did not get back to me today which is unlike her so I wander if she is off - altho she would normally tell me. I did not have a chance to page her to speak to her so might have time tomorrow.

Shame you were called into work , nevermind eh, it sounds as though it can be pretty tireing though, but i know you love your job , how did it go today hope it wasnt too busy for you as its realy hot again isnt it.
Did you manage to contact your BC nurse ? maby she was away cos of the bank holiday or something.
Im not working till friday im haveing a couple of days off cos OH has a couple of holiday days too, so we have been out all day again (im bloomin shattered lol) just had lunch in a pub then sat at the marina for drinks ,the weather is georgeous so makeing the most of it lol. Going out with my sister and mum tonight for an itialian meal so by the time i get in later will proberly just fall into my pit lol
Nevermind eh, enjoy life as much as you can thats my motto now.
My sister gos home friday so will be back to the grindstone before i know it.

On the subject of life - MY SCAN WAS CLEAR. bc nurse phoned me at work today - I came off phone and cried with relief. So next couple of days I am going to book a week away in the summer - probably bulgaria - bring it on.
Work was really busy today again - another day I hardly sat down - def feel it on the back and knees - I feel like and old woman - and dont say I am just cos Ive turned 40 - lol.
I am now not back on till Sat so am hoping for a couple of days of sun - altho I have things on both days - counselling and going to see a house with dad tomorrow, and first haircut on Friday - hopefully will fit in a swim both days too.

I am soooooooo very pleased for you , ive got a big smile on my face now ,it must be such a relief to know your scan was all clear yipeeeeee, not surprised you had a few tears though the bloody stress we go through ,well done.
Ha, will resist saying the creaking bones are because of the old age creeping up lol nah, youve just been working too hard.
Glad your off now till sat , hopefully youll be able to get out and enjoy the sunshine , hows the counselling going?, hope its getting a bit better for you and is helping .
First hair cut eh , im sooooooo envious that must be a great feeling cant wait till i can do that too.
The meal was lovely tonight so im stuffed now , think i may be dieting next week lol

Its a beautiful day here today so off for a swim soon. Counselling is still hard going but should be worth it in the long run.
Gonna enjoythe sunshine today. Bit pizd off tho cos I am really knackered and struggled to get up when alarm went off - but I stupidly thought my counselling was at 10, hence getting up - but its not till 11 - I could have still been in bed - should have checked the calendar before bed last night - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hello Girls,
Sorry for my absence and for not being able to let you both know why.
I went for my 2nd Herceptin a fortnight ago, but as you knew i had become swollen and breathless, when the oncologist saw my feet and legs he ordered a emergency ambulance and had me transferred to the cardiology ward at the hospital as I had suffered heart failure which they think was brought on by the Herceptin, so I have spent the last two weeks in hospital, only came out today. I did try to get online from my bedside phone but it would not allow me to enter or I would have let you know. Thank you both for being so concerned about me. I have to go back on Monday to see the oncologist but I dont think they will continue the Herceptin. I am feeling better than I did, just quite tired but think that is due to lack of sleep, it was quite a shock to the system. I have not read all your posts in detail, there are 27 for me to read, so once I have caught up I will post to you individually. Hope you are both ok, and it is nice to be back chatting to you both. have really missed you both.

I am so so glad to hear from you - but obviously sorry the reason for your absence. You must have been so bloody scared. Sorry you had such a bad side effect from the herceptin - bloody awful disease!!!
I am not surprised you are so tired - after all the stress and having to be in hospital for 2 weeks - its not the most restful of places is it?
We have been so worried about you it is sooooooooooooooo good to hear from you.
You take real good care of yourself and get plenty rest.
Wish I lived closer to come round and help you out a bit

How are you both doing? Hope you have had a good day. I have been taking it easy today, the weather here has not been quite as nice today, still warm though so sat in the garden, so good to be out in the fresh air after being stuck in the hospital. My friend came at lunchtime so we had a good chat.
Fiona: Slept well thanks, and so good to be back in my own bed, I am getting very tired just doing bits of things but hopefully once I get a bit stronger it will settle. They have put me on quite a high dose of diuretics to help get rid of all the fluid, but it is still quite bad in my feet but I am sure it will settle. How is the gym? I have still to ring and make my first booking, but will leave it now until I check with oncologist on Monday. Take Carex

Oh Jill, i am so pleased that you are back and are ok, god it realy sounds as though you have had a horrible time of it, me and Fi was so worried about you, I was worried that you might be in hospital cos i knew you were haveing your heceptin and haveing other problems the last time you posted , thank goodness your now on the mend . we have realy missed you , i was so relieved when i logged on just now to see you had posted. You take good care of yourself and take it easy .Like Fi says wish i could pop round too and help in someway and also to give you a big hug.
Fi, hope you had a good day, didnt manage to get online last night as hubby hogged the computer (bloomin men) hope your conselling went ok and sorry you didnt get the extra hour in bed typical eh. What have you been doing today? the weathers changed a bit but still very muggy here.
Well yesterday we went to Helston flora day ,it was realy good lots of danceing in the street in period costumes, hog roasts and lots of stalls to spend your money in lol so was a good day. My sister has gone home so a bit sad cos we had a brill week but have to get back to normal eh. Guess what? i had the hairdresser today and got some highlights put in my very short hair, it wouldnt lift realy light, but is a copper colour and looks so much better ,she also managed to shape it a bit so feels so much better , bit self consious about not haveing much of a fringe (cos always had one covers the lines lol) but its a big improvement , just gotta face the world now lol.

Good to hear from both of you - was starting to worry about you too Lindiloo when you was not on yesterday!!
Jill - dont you dare rush to the gym - think thats what your onc will say too. I have not been since before my birthday weekend - had a sore back and just did not have the energy so took it easy. Have been swimming when I could and doing anything from 60-80 lengths so better than nothing - and of course much more gentle on the joints as they are all pretty painful - especially my knees.
Lindiloo - congrats on your hair - I too got mine cut yesterday - not much off length but she thinned it out as it was so thick - I bought some stuff she used on my hair - its called crackling hair wax - think its wella that does it - its the best stuff I have ever seen and now used - my hair would always flop by half way thro the day unless I made it rock hard but this stuff is fantastic - hair is still soft but you can rework the hair all day long - tried it out today at work!!
I have a very busy week ahead. Got the best news of all - dad is going into sheltered accommodation. He lives in a council flat and at the mo is 30 stairs to get up to the flat and the tenement is not particularly nice. He (and mum when she was here) were on the housing list for the last few years - and were only offered a high rise, and a scabby tenement in the past - but he got the offer on Thursday, we went to see it then, he accepted it and picked up the keys on Friday then it was all go. By Friday evening I have cooker bought and it will be delivered Tuesd, carpets ordered and they will be fitted Thursday, curtains washed and ironed, paint bought, lampshades bought and removal men organised for next Friday. So when I am not working I will be painting - have to try and paint lounge, bedroom, hall, bathroom and kitchen by Friday - but as long as I get lounge, hall and bedroom done the others could be done after he moves in as the kitchen and bathroom already have tiling on the floor. Now that he has had a good think about it he knows its the right move - and he can still live an independent life - but it is good for me to know there is support close by if he needs it.
I am working again tomorrow so will be having an early night.

Fi, the crackling hair wax sounds good il see if i can find some in one of the chemists and give it a go. Glad to hear about your dads new home sounds as though youve been busy getting everything ready for him to move in.My mum lives in sheltered housing and its brilliant cos you are still independant and have your own flat but should you need help they have a 24hr lifeline service and a warden on site to help with alsorts of practical things if you need it. Hers also has lots of days out and different stuff going on all the time so you need never to be lonely. I also work in one and all the residents realy love it. Sounds like youll be gtting your paint brush out again lol.
Jill, hope your ok and are takeing it easy , like Fi says dont go worrying about the gym just yet , you need to get fully well first, Hope you are haveing a nice weekend, i bet your realy glad to be back home and in your own bed, there is never much rest in hospital is there.You take good care of youself and accept all the help you can there will be plenty of time for the gym later.
Well girls im just haveing a pretty quiet day today OH is on a 12hr shift so just done a load of cleaning , a bit of painting (woodwork) and cooked dinner . Gonna put my feet up now lol

Hope you are both having a god weekend, and enjoying the sunshine, we have had quite a bad storm here this afternoon but it has cleared the air as it was really muggy.
Fiona: Great news about your Dad, sounds a nice place, and he could not have a better decorator than you! You sound like you have got everything organised . I have had a very quiet weekend, to be honest I have been surprised at the level of tiredness so could not even think about the gym. I plucked up the courage today and went without my wig, just really a handful of people but its a start, I have been wanting a wax so will defo get the one you said, I am going to get the hairdresser when I am more up to it, just to tidy it upx
Lindiloo: Glad you are ok. You sound like you have been busy too. I am back at the hospital in the morning to see my oncologist and to discuss my options, as the Herceptin has been stopped, the water tablets they have given me seem to be working my OH has not seen much of me as I have been in the loo most of today!!! The doctor said they should wring me out like a dishcloth (charming!!) and hopefully get the weight back down, hard to believe I gained a stone in a week and it was fluid. x
Well girls I have taped the Nancy programme so off to watch it, I know Fi watches it how about you Lindiloo? I get hooked on these programmes, keeps me out of trouble!

You must def both get that crackling head wax - it is fantastic - cant rave about it enough - and its def wella that makes it - and its not too expensive.
Jill - good luck at the hospital tomorrow - let us know how you get on. Wow - a stone in a week - not thats a lot of fluid - no much wonder your running to the loo. Will you get further checks to your heart once fluid is all gone?
Just finishing watching the Nancy results show - I really think Sam will win - she is good. Jessie really really really annoys me and Jodies not much better!
Lindilloo - wouldnt call cleaning and cooking a quiet day - lol.
I am spose to be working 12 h ours tomorrow but I will hopefully get some annual leave hours and not go into work till 3 30 so I can go make a start on dads house - wont be quite as quick as 60 minute makeover but will have to get going. I will be knackered by the end of next weekend but it will be worth it. I am so excited for him.
Off to watch Lost now then bed.
Got my painting and decorating head back on - lol - only its not for myself. Think this will delay the rest of my decorating somewhat!
