Morning everyone - wishing everyone a successful day ahead with appointments, injections, WBCs, sickness, hair washing, and work XXX
Doing everything this morning to try to get my pesky blood vessels to behave - currently in a steaming hot bath before heading to appointment X
BuddyFan my aunt had chemo a year or so ago and she recommends wearing gloves all the time during T - waterproof if cleaning, nice warm ones if outside and in particular soft white gloves whenever inside. I have bought the white ones from m&s where you can also put cream on your hands and then put them on to help the cream absorb (from the manicure department). She also recommends really soft slippers for your feet from day 1.
Hope that helps.
??? will dance my way to radiology today. XXX
Went out with my hat on. Felt weird as I don’t normally wear hats. Only had to go to the GP for my blood test ahead if chemo 2 tomorrow but it did involve walking down the high street in the village. Quite cold out but at least my head was warm.
How’s everyone else today? Shi nice to see you’ve got your sparkle back after your little wobble yesterday. Don’t worry we all have them.
Sending unicorn hugs and sparkles ???
Ruth good luck for today ???whytefawn, ???well done you for being brave and getting to docs with hat on ???another hurdle we are all facing or have already jumped over in some cases ???you are amazing ???shi xx

Shi, glad you’re feeling a little perkier this morning. Like Karana I’m picturing you covered in sparkles and rainbows in the hope it’ll help boost that pesky WBC.

Karana, good luck with the hair washing!
Anyone heard from Cherry? Wonder if she collected her wig?
Have a good day ladies! ?
At the weekend following chemo on Friday I had loads of energy. today I feel zapped I don’t feel ill or anything just like my energy levels are being depleted did this happen to anyone else ?
I am sure it is normal and I shall just sleep more but would appreciate your thoughts x
We’re you taking steroids Sue? If you have steroids after they can make you feel like you’ve got loads of energy then you stop taking them and you crash a bit. I didn’t have steroids after chemo just during so I never had the feeling energetic part lol
Hi sue i has extra sleeps days 3,4,5 during days after chemo, it’s days 7-14 when everything hits the decks as I found out ?so it could just be a bit of fatigue, see what rest of ladies have experienced, we are all on different carriages of the chemo train ???love and sparkles ??shi xx
Yes steroids Saturday Sunday Monday so they probably just leaving my system about now hence the crash lol
Thanks ladies x more naps for me ?
Morning all, hope the day goes according to plan for you all.
My hubby is currently sleeping like a baby at the side of me. He’s not gone into work, not hungover because he’d stopped drinking by 7:30. He did drink most of the bottle of wine though and a pint of beer. I maybe had the equivalent of a large glass in the end. His mum is in hospital not getting great treatment. It’s unclear if she has dementia or confusion related to infection. His dad has OCD and is very frail both physically and mentally and can’t cope with her coming back home. She is worse than when she went in but the hospital are trying to shift her away from being their problem. It’s shameful the way that the elderly are treated in this country. My BIL and her sister are doing their best but we live 150 miles away so feel helpless, I keep telling him to go and help if he needs to but he wants to be here in case I am taken I’ll plus he has work commitments. It’s an impossible situation and he just had a big wobble about it yesterday. He hardly slept after spending the rest of the evening on the phone. I’m glad that at least I brought him home when I did and fed him a good nutritious tea
Sorry rant over now, it’s certainly a distraction from my own issues!
Hope your white blood cells get through customs today Shi.
Cricky chaffinch what a lot for you all to be dealing with as well as your journey, sorry to hear the local care to his parents not up to much, any chance of highliting it to their local press? Might open things up for debate and better care process? Just a thought. Yep we are all trying to ???Them up, i’ll just be happy if they are continuing to rise no matter how slow as long as they are going the right way, i’ll Be happy today even if I have to stay here a bit longer, better to have it all ok if I am to get 2nd one next week???thanks for support yesterday, have a great day too ???shi xx
Chaffinch can’t offer anything practical I am sorry but can say I am thinking of you xx
Big hug Shi. Glad you are feeling better. SueW you are exactly how i was so rest when you need to. - its hard when youve had a good day then crash the next day but just go with it. Chafginch so sorry to hear about your hubby’s parents. Could they go into respite or assessment to find out what they need?
Funny moment this morning when the man camexto fix my oven and my hubby called me to come downstairs. I had to phone him and say i cant come down because my hairs down there!! I am not bothered about being bald but didnt eant to shock the oven man who hss been coming here for years!! Anyway he sneaked my hair up!!
Have a good day everyone xx
Ali, glad your hair butler on hand ???hope oven gets fixed ok love and sparkles shi???shi xx
Hi Sue, I was surprised how the tiredness/fatigue hit me, I was generally OK on day 2 both times but felt low days 3 and 4, then had sudden tiredness crashes on days 6 and 7 that really threw me as I’d been led to believe I’d be feeling better by then. I didn’t need to nap again from day 8 onwards thankfully. Take it easy and rest when you need to, it will ease. And don’t forget to tell your onc as mine tweaked my drugs as a result.
Sending lots of love your way Chaffinch, this is enough to have to deal with xx
Right, I’m braving the clippers today, you’ve inspired me Cassie! I can’t bear the thought of another shower with that much hair coming out so I’ve been watching scarf tying vids on YouTube but I still think I’m going to end up looking like Vera Duckworth ?
Lots of love to everyone xxx (still no sign of patchwork girl?)
Good luck with the clippers reeboot, let us know how you get on ?love shi xx
Marg glad to see you sorry it’s been a bit tough for you
I was on steroids they finished. though to be fair I am quite good at napping so going with the flow
