Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Clair, It must be really worrying for you on top on just getting over all the BC treatment and going back to work.  Hopefully it can be treated with antibiotics.  When I was in hospital having my hysterectomy there were two women in at the same time having cysts removed from their ovaries, they both were up and about the next morning Right as rain running around for us girls that had hysterectomys.  Let’s hope it doesent come to thst though.

Dizzy, The thing I worry most about getting my hair cut  is the reverse, at the moment it’s easy, I dont have to do anything except run a hairdryer over it, then shove a few pins in it.  If it’s short I won’t be able to do that, I’ll actually have to style it.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday night.  I’m looking forward to the return of Gogglebox tonight xx

Clair

im not surprised you don’t know how to feel. An important step has been taken today and having the knowledge of what’s going on is half the battle. Hopefully in the coming days you’ll find out more still and then you’ll know what they’re going to do about that cyst. Clearly it’s giving you grief so maybe they’ll remove it - wonder if they can do that via keyhole surgery?

Feet up this weekend Mrs. You’ve been through it between work and everything else so time for some R&R.

Im always here to listen  Xxx

Gosh its all gone quiet on here tonight xx

BUT -  I’ve now better caught up on todays news from you all. And to be honest, I’m that much more concerned about our good friend, Corr-Clair and the recent bombshell she’s been delivered with, than anything else. I’m having to control my release of a whole load of expletives!!!

Jeez, Clair. I’ve even taken notice to leave the ‘E’ off the end of your name! NO, I’m being very, VERY serious now girls. You dropped that news into your post so blase like. Please don’t. Crikeybobs, I’m lost for words right now.

My darlin, darlin woman, we are so here for you right now. I’ve got goosebumps. News that none of us other bu**ers wants to hear.  Especially for you, my dear, sweet friend.

I am totally with Lesley and Beth views and comments. My fingers have never been more crossed. For gods sake keep us informed wont you. We’re all “gunning” (what exactly DOES that mean??) We’re all so concerned after and about you.

Flabbergasted

Delly xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx !!

Most of 'em for you Clairee xxxx

Clair and Beth huge hugs especially to you both. So rotten for both of you. A fleeting visit from me this weekend. Many posts ago I had a reunion of school friends to raise a glass to a much loved friend who died suddenly last year. This weekend her husband (cannot bring myself to say widower) has come to stay, so eyes off IT for a while. Delly I thought about Bristol as possibly more realistic as somewhere we may be able to get to and from in a day for lunch maybe? Aware a few of us are carers, so a struggle to get away more than a day. I don’t mind getting a train or driving a bit further.
Anyway I’m off to spoil our guest. Love to you all and Clair I hope today brings some lovely news xx

Good morning gorgeous Willows,

Clair, I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and weren’t awake worrying.  I thought if you when I woke up with my flushes and sent you a virtual hug.  Progress for me though, only two flushes last night, they were massive ones  and went on for ages, but my arm/shoulder didn’t hurt one bit during the night, in fact I forgot about it until I reached round to scrub my back in the bath this morning,  ouch!  So think the injection has started to work.

Beth, hope the antibiotics have kicked in, though expect its early days yet, usually takes several days before you start to feel the effects, and yours sounds like an extra bad infection.

Just about to set off for weekly walk into town for breakfast.  Overcast here but at least it’s dry.

Enjoy having your friends husband Janey, expect it’s going to be emotional for you both.

Wishung everyone else a lovely Saturday, and Charys, hope you’re ok?  If we don’t hear soon we’re sending Delly to find you xx

Good morning everyone

Just to let you know Charys is ok, I have heard from her she has been VERY busy with family stuff this week so dont worry

Well it is a blowy overcast day here today so me thinks apart from going to post a get well card, I am going to spend the day in the house.  Not going to do any spring cleaning, had enough of that last weekend and the aftereffects!!

Beth hope the antib’s start to work on that infection today.

Lesley - yay I know it means pain to you at first but great that it looks like the injection is working.

Janey - have a lovely day with your friend, I think that is such a wonderful thing to do.  I know when my friend passed away we kept in touch with her husband for several years, he has now found a lovely lady and they have married, although he nevers forgets Cathleen, and I am so glad that he has found happiness again, he so deserves it.

Lily how is the cold coming on, hopefully you are well over the worst of it.

Clair - how are you feeling today my darling xx

ann - where are you today on your wonderful holiday xx

Ruby - where are you and how are you, we havent heard from you for a few days, did someone unlock the catflap again and let you out

Had card from the postman through the door they couldnt deliver a parcel, ooohhh I think it might be my mug so I am going to pop off later and collect it.

Helena xxxx

Dizzy - I had my hair cut when I was 19 just before I married.  It used to be able to sit on it.  I always coloured my hair, in fact I used to have 3 colours put in, but about 6 years ago I thought I have had enough of this and stopped, I have never looked back.  My hairdresser says it is going a lovely silver colour and I am getting impatient as I want the salt n pepper bits to go silver now.

Morning again Lusciouslies,

Helena, read back a couple of posts. How difficult would/is it for you to get to Exeter. Obviously, Bristols closer, but the majority of girlies live South, 'cept for you and me. I’m okay to go anywhere 'cept to Coventry (!!) or Timbuktoo. I know you have your hubby to think about, so you, I feel, are the important deciding factor.

Give me your feedback hun.

S’all for now xxxxx

Hello ladies
I’ve just found this thread by mistake and u can tell me to p…s off if you like but if you do have a meet up in Exeter …there are three of us here that might like to join u if u would have us gate crash your jolly !!
Carolyn xx

Ooh more of you near me?! Do join in here and are you all Exeter?! Xx

Hello all! Just got back from a very blowy walk, and also did half an hour in the garden. So that’s me done for the day, my conscience is clear(ish).

Helena, I suspect my hair would be completely white. I can’t quite get my head round that yet. Cutting it short was something I did in easy stages, but I don’t think you can do that with coloured hair, unless I went blonde first, and that would look strange on me. But I do envy people who look great with grey hair, I’m fed up with dyeing mine, it takes forever and costs a fortune. My friends have someone who comes to the house and does a wet cut and charges less than a tenner. Cheap and easy and so quick.

Clair, I hope you’re feeling okay, sending you love and hugs. And I hope the new baby arrives safe and well this weekend, you have so much to think about at the moment.

Beth, I hope you have your feet up as ordered, and have a lovely weekend tucked up with Mac on the settee.

Lesley, great that the shoulder is starting to improve, hope it gets better yet.

Catch up later, have a good day everyone.

Helena

ive had a look at the trains too. Exeter from here is 4.5 hours by train. Bristol is 3 hrs 15. It’s a looooong way either way!! I’m closer to Ireland than I am to you lot!!

I may be south, but I’m much further West. Christ even Cardiff is 2 hours by train for me lol

Carolyn

Hi there! Now you have me wondering if there’s something in the water in the Exeter area…Though in fairness only Janey really counts as living near Exeter, but we do have a West country contingent.

Hello ladies
Yes two of us live in Exeter and our third lady lives near Dartmouth but we all met yesterday for a …five hour lunch and had a good time .
Sooo. .if u do actually do a meet up.in Exeter we would love to join you.
Xxxx

Hello delly.
I’m afraid we lurk permanently on the secondary threads for obvious reasons BUT
I only take letrozole so I suppose I sometimes dip into hormone therapies threads to moan about side effects …but never been on this one and you all are absolutely MAD …but its great !!
Xxxx

Guys

I honestly mean this, you organise something that suits you all, if I am able to get there even for a couple of hours I will do I promise, it is more important that the meet up for as many as people who can get there is arranged as it is something that has been talked about for a long time

Helena xxx

Hello lovelies, thank you wonderful lot for asking I’m still uncomfortable but I’m determined not to let this hurdle get to me so we went for a wet and windy walk around Wells picked up a few bargains in the charity shops and we’re out for a dinner party with friends tonight so all go.
No news on the little one yet, he seems to be happy where he is at the moment.
You all sound like you’ve all been busy. Hair cuts, pampering and nails being done!

Charys, Ruby, Mojan and Marydan sending you all hugs and hope your well xxxxx
Love and hugs to anyone else I’ve missed have a good weekend xxxxxx

I think I’m going to count myself out of a meet up for now. Wth everything thats going on down here, I don’t think I’m strong enough for a long journey just yet, either by train or car. Apologies if that sounds like I’m being a killjoy, but I need all the rest I can get, when I can get it!!

i will certainly enjoy hearing all about it from you all though, if you get it sorted xxx

I’ve taken four of these giant antibiotics so far, and they’re beginning to make me feel a bit nauseous. Leaflet says it should pass in a few days but hopefully it’ll come to nothing. Well worth it though if they sort out this damn infection. How do you get an infection if there’s no broken skin? Weird.

Clair, good for you for getting out and about today. Weather is horrendous here today. It’s been hammering down since I got up. Hubby just taken Mac out for a brief walk and they’ve both come in like drowned rats and it was funny when I was standing there in the kitchen waiting for them to come in, with a lovely warm towel - for Mac! Poor hubby lol

have a a good afternoon all & catch up later

xxx

Ouch, ouch and OUCH, set off for my walk this morning with my friend and her eldest grand daughter and was chattering away not looking where I was going and managed to put my foot down a hole, did a comic windmilling action with my arms to stop me falling, wrenched my shoulder, the pain was so awful I didn’t notice  until it wore off until 10 minutes that I’d strained my ankle.  Shoulder now ok but ankle throbbing like a Harley Davidson.  Friends grand daughter wants to be a gymnast, some hopes!  She was whinging and complaining after walking for 10 minutes that we were walking too fast, she was tired, could nanny go and get the car? She couldn’t possibly walk back as well as her legs were aching, she’s 10 next month, flipping heck, when I was that age I could have hopped on one leg all the way there and back.  Still, she enjoyed her breakfast and nanny treated her in the shops, though she wouldn’t carry the bags on the way home.

Going to read back on all your posts now and catch up before putting dinner on (seafood spaghetti, yum) and pouring a vino.  Looked at getting to Bristol, it involves getting a bus to town, then to Reading then a train, whole journey would take approx four and half hour each way and cost over £150, I could go and see my friend in Spain for that so it’s looking doubtful that I’ll be able to make it ?Xx
