Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Delly

no I wasn’t joking. I had two tiny pimples, one of which errupted and then they both disappeared. A few days later, this thing I have now appeared and is now the size of a large grape. I guess it must be related to the one I dealt with before. I didn’t squeeze it as you would a spot somewhere else, I put a little bit of pressure on it and that’s all it took. Yuk.  I was very careful, kept the original ones clean, used antiseptic cream etc etc and they did go away. My whole armpit area is red and swollen now, down to my node scar which has gone a funny shape, the top of it kind of overhangs the bottom of it but I think that’s the swelling. It’s bloody painful, I know that much. ?? xxx

Oh no Lesley how are you feeling now? Sending you gentle hugs xxxx
Beth your such a girl after m own heart I too squeeze spots and pimples xxx
Well I’m off out for dinner with friends … Very posh for me but I’ve decided there’s no point in worrying if something nasty is coming for me again, life is for living and tomorrow there will be another member of our family and I intend in being around for a while yet
( I’ve had 2 glasses of wine already so I might feel differently tomorrow morning)
Love you all lots and I’ll catch up with you tomorrow. Clair xxxxx

GoodSunday morning all

Well what a difference a day makes, it is sunny not cold but not warm either.  I have just walked up to the shops for the newspaper (first time in ages I have bought one) and posted a letter.

Delly - you can get cheap tickets but you need to book them quite a bit in advanceand there are only a few on each train, quite often there are set journey outward and return times for the ticket.  I think they become available about 30 days before the date but it has been a long time since I did one so this might have changed.

Hope everyone is better at least a bit better today and sending you all a hug

Helena xxx

Hello my lovelies, I’m really suffering today for my night of fun last night, I already had a cold but now I’ve lost my voice from all the laughing and talking we did. For the first time in ages I felt like the old me.
My son and daughter in law are at the hospital so now we’re just waiting for the call :-D. Helena it’s drizzly and grey here enjoy your sunshine xxx
Ann beautiful pics xxx
have a lovely day everyone I’m resting up and watching the final episodes of Luther before I get the roast on xxx

Good Afternoon Sweetpeas,

Just a quick bob in to check how you are and what trouble you may be causing. Think most of that’s usually down to me though, isn’t it.

Ann-m - What awful photo’s!! It’s looks decidedly yuck. What are those flag or bunting like things on the sunset foreground Ann ?? Looks stunning. Oooooo - can’t I come out and visit, whilst you’re there.

Charys - Am still missin you. When yer coming out ta play?? Hope you’re all right lovey and speak with us soon - pretty pleeeease??

Lady H - Thanks for the up on train tickets. Easier for you to get to Bristol, but not for Lesley in Bucks, Sue in E. Sussex, Anns in Canterbury - so all in the far East of t’country. Then Lilly’s all the way down in Cornwall somewhere. Bit of a dilemma, really.

** I don’t know where Moijan, Marydan, Lorac (Carol), Pollyp - who else?  Can you let us know when you’ve a min gals. Lee’s all the way in Aussieland, so reI’m presuming it’ll be a no-no for her?? **

Shall I get my helicopter out, come pick everybody up? Sooo, it seems you’re all in agreement for just a days meet. But of course there’s the option for anyone to make it a couple of days should they wish. I shall probably make it a couple of nights and be driving, otherwise Helena, I could have picked you up and taken you back. How will your hubby cope on his ownio for a day??

Would I be right then, in presuming a weekend would be better than weekday? Though the train fayres would probably be cheaper, being off-peak.

We still have to come to another agreement, as to when? Janey’s suggesting Summer, but again, the train fayres will probably hike up in the school hols, for those of you using trains. So can you all please have a think on these questions, as times rushing on. We’re at the end of Febuary now (!!) can’t believe it. When do schools break up for hols - is end of June beginning of July, through to end of August/early September

How are Snotty Lilly and Beth-the-Festerer today? I am awful.

Corr-Clair - At least that’s a good reason for hangover and losing your voice (like me and enjoying practicing my X factor singing!!). Think everybody’s waiting on tenter hooks for baby to pop out any minute.

Had a brill sleep last night, full 8 hrs, bit groggy today, but I think a shower in a bit wil wake me up. Started a low dose 50mg of Quetiapine last night, to help me sleep and calm me down a bit?? I fancy catching a film tonight, as I feel like taking myself out and I’m way behing on the current releases. Anyone seen LaLa Land?? If so, any good? Might go see and make up my own mind anyway, as it seems to be getting plenty of awards. Haven’t been to the Flicks for ages and it’s still something I still really enjoy to do. Can’t beat seeing something on a huge screen and so being completely immersed in it all.

Am going now Lovelies, as am hot on a car search today on Autotrader - cheaper than buying from a dealer, tho you don’t get the same guarentees of course. see what I can find within my budget.

Enjoy your Sunday

Hellloooooooooooooooo

Just popping in to say Hiiiiii. I’ve been burning stuff in the garden for two days and finally caught up with everything chopped down last summer, in that period after surgery and before rads where I went a bit loopy and kept cutting stuff down lol (I think a few others did the same, as I recall a few people saying they had gone a bit mad in the garden as a way to use up emotional energy). It is SOOOooo windy here! Well, ladies, hows all yer hormones and bits and bobs…hm? I see you asked after me Dellypoos, well, here I am freshly smoked and windswept. I can’t believe it’s nearly March, as it was March I diagnosed last year. You know when you first hear the words ‘bc’ and you think it’s the end and you won’t make another spring lol wellllllll…Spring is just around the corner and I’m still chopping and burning lol I so hope you are all well. I have more time this coming week, so will try and pop on and do some proper reading. Love to all x

Six days back on Tamoxifen and so far so good.I am still getting bouts of internal heat but I had that during my break from Tamo anyway. I got the ultrasound and xray results back for my shoulder and its a mixed bag with a bit of osteo arthritis in the front and bursitis in the back. I will go and see a physio soon for some exercises. Lovely to read about you all. Life goes on with all its ups and downs eh? Lee xx

Morning lovelies, just popping in quickly ti say there’s still no news on the baby he’s not wanting to move out yet but the voice is back very croaky but back
Delly your a proper jet setter my son and his partner went to Venice a few tears ago out of season and they loved it.
Beth I hope your more comfortable today xxxx
Right I’m off to enjoy my day off and potter around doing little jobs.
Sending you all warm hugs on this chilly wet and windy day xxx

Morning all

Its cold here today, just been out to collect my mug from the post office and am sitting having a cup of tea out of it at the moment.

Hope everyone is the best they can be today xxx

Morning you all you dripping wet flowers,

Corr-Clair - What??!! No Baby YET!! You’re poor daughter. Hope you’re having a lovely day off. No Clair, I’m NOT a jet setter at all. I haven’t been abroad since 2003, hence part of my saying I had a lot of missed time, and life (!!) to make up for.  And that last hol happened to be to Venice, for 4 nights, 5 days. End of March. Much quieter for sightseeing, plus we were walking around in our T-shirts. My first visit had been on a day trip from Garda, in July. Chokka block full of other day trippers and very hot. But I instantly fell in love with it, and promised myself to go back for a long break, to be able to really explore it and see if without millions of people. I literally glaze over (I’ am now) thinking and talking about it. Mind you, anywhere I’ve been to in Italy, so far, does the same to me. You can have Paris. It isn’t a patch. Venice is the most beautiful city, surrounded by water, which makes it so unique and so picturesque with it’s numerous islands in view, packed full of wonderful buildings, culture, art. And. . . . yes yes, YES, it IS incredibly romantic. When you fly there, you pass over it low, so get an aeriel view, even to begin with. Then, you have to take a boat from the airport, and a book I’d bought advised you to take a WaterBus, not WaterTaxi, The Bus, takes you all around some of the lagoon islands, dropping off passengers. So you get to have a look at those too - Murano, Burano etc. Then you start to see the finger of the Campanile tower of St Marks, miles away in the distance. And it all slowly looms into sight. It reeeeally IS quite magical to approach it that way, if ever you go.

See what you’ve done - I’m back there, in my head.

I’ll only be going if I can get the same’ish deal (£179 for 3 nights!! - that’s bloomin peanuts as it’s usually v. expensive ) as that lady I stood talking to in Tescoe’s for 1/2 hr. Can’t remember her name now, I speak to that many people. Was giving her allsorts of tips - about the water bus not taxi, don’t listen to anyone who says don’t go on a Gondola because it’s a rip off - just DO IT, you can’t go to Venice and not. It’s worth every penny of the rip off. She and her husband moved to Macc a year ago, from near where I lived in N. Manchester and live on a large canal boat. She’s invited to me go have glass of vino - such a lovely woman.  So I shall. It’s a very  pleasant walk along the canal to where it’s moored, about 1/2 an hour, directly from my door. But she also said, if I did find the same deal, or a simlar deal, but not at the same hotel, to go and seek her and her 3 girlfriends out at the Danielli, to join them. Awww, nice or what.

Am still car hunting. Have this hire car till Wednesday, so ideally need to sort alternative replacement this week. The GP and I think my scatterd dull mobile head pains may be Temporal Arteritis, so I’m to have another blood test. Plus he was resistant to refer me to the hospital I asked to be, that has a specialist hand unit, as recommended by my X neighbour Physio, Julie, who’s head of Physio Dept at the Manchester Metropolitan Uni, so she knows her oats - is that the right word for that phrase. And instead has referred me to the Musculo-Skeletal attached to the medical practice, who misdiagnosed my hand condition in the first place, so I’m not wholly happy about, but it may be a different person I have this time. I don’t know why I don’t stand my ground more, because it all ends up taking more time to get properly sorted in the end. Need to stand up for myself more sometimes, be a bit more insistent.

Helena - How are you today flower? You okay?? Frustrated by the weather for your gardening, no doubt.

Lesley - how’s your ankle doing? Is it sore and swollen?

SnottyLilly and Festering-Beth - Sorry girls :smileywink: How are you both today - less snotty and less festering I hope.

Sue - How’s you? You haven’t been on for a good while now. Hope you’re doing okay lovey.

I just remembered in time, early this morning, to send a birthday card to someone who’s a 29th Feb babe. Think we worked out she was 52yrs -:- 4 leap yr b’days, so is only 13 really!!

Sorry I’ve wittered your ears off with another long post.

Hope everyone else is also feeling better today.

Love to all of you

Hello all! Not looking good outside so I’m tucked up with the paper and a dog on my lap being lazy for half an hour. I have a huge list of outdoor jobs to do, but they need some better weather, and this week is looking like a washout.

Helena, I hope you’re enjoying the start of your week off.

Clair, I hope you have your feet up now? Your new baby grandson is clearly happy where he is, though maybe something has happened now.

Lesley, I hope the ankle is feeling better, and the shoulder is really improving now.

Lee, I hope you can get something sorted for your shoulder too.

Beth, I hope the antibiotics are starting to kick in now.

Charys, glad you popped in, we missed you! I’m looking forward to my anniversary, I think of that as a real milestone. But I guess you want to get the mammogram out of the way?

Catch you all later, I suppose I’d better go and do something useful now…

Delly, my mother in law had temporal arteritis, it was treated with steroids very successfully.

It’s funny, Venice has never appealed to me, though I really like Italy. I recommend Lake Maggiore, quieter than Garda and with cute little islands. I hope you get your Venice trip booked.

Ladies

Just sitting looking out at the pouring rain and I have decided that this is not going to be the week of my being in the garden, you know that feeling when you just have to accept defeat on something, so I am going to just enjoy the lunches out that I have booked, do my tapestry and do the ironing.  I have a week off again at the end of March so heres hoping.

Lesley and Beth hope you are both feeling better today xx

Delly - given up now on the garden.  I went to Barcelona about 10 years ago as part of a residential trip for my degree course, I absolutely fell in love with it, I think everyone should go there at least once in their lives.  It was stunning.  The architecture, food, everything was just unbelievable.  With the help of two of the guys on our course, I managed to walk up to the top of the Sagrada Familia, the lift was out of action that day and they absolutely refused to have to sit at the bottom and wait for them. It was one of the most incredible things, next to climbing up Dunns River Falls in Jamaica that I have ever done.

Dizzy - it was lovely to not have to get up early, although I am in work for a couple hours tomorrow, but that is of my own doing as there is a workshop that i really want to attend and the only day that the others can do is tomorrow morning.

Lee another one with a poorly shoulder, flipping heck hope it gets sorted soon.

Lily how are you doing

Helena xxx

HE’S HERE  all is good and he’s a heathly 7 lb 4 mum is doing well too. So excited xxxxx

Thank you Helena, my son’s going to send me some pics later then I’ll share  I probably won’t get to see him yet as they’ll want to get settled and I’m ill so don’t want to pass anything on and then there’s the timing by the time we leave for Cardiff after work it’ll be late when we get there so I’m leaving it up to them it’ll probably be the weekend before we see him :frowning: unless I get time off.
Xxxx.

Hello Willows,

Just popped in to check up on you all… no news of baby yet I see.  I expect he’s nice and warm and comfy where he is, so cold wet and windy, don’t blame him for staying put for while.

My ankle is fine thanks, mind you, havent  had shoes on since, I’ll find out tomorrow when I go out to Knitting.  Really hoping someone there can sort my efforts out where I managed to stich all the wrong bits together.  Normally you can see my stitching as my sewing is so bad, but this wool is multicolour and you can’t tell what’s Knitting and whats sewing.

Delly, your talk of Venice has made me all restless.  Would so love to go away.  Hoping to get over to my friend in Spain in September.  We’re off to Great Yarmouth in April for 4 days, that’s about as far as I feel able to go at the  moment but hopefully by then I’ll be feeling better, plus I’ll have had my first year check up, once that’s done I really feel I can move on properly.

Ann, it’s about time you got yourself back here to the wind and rain, it can’t be good for you all that beautiful scenery and sunshine, we’re not made for it.

Sorry not to mention you all but need to start thinking about dinner.  Yes, I know it’s early but haven’t eaten yet today and it’s too late now for lunch so might as well, it’s going to take hour and half anyway to cook so won’t be that early, plus it means I can have my glass of vino early, see I’m not stupid xx

Oh, it took me so long to type that out thst baby arrived in the meantime.  Big congratulation Clair, so happy for you.  I’ll toast him tonight xx

Yay Clair, congratulations! You must have been thinking he was never going to put in an appearance. It’s a good job he was three weeks early or he’d have been a real bruiser. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. What a lovely thing, after your difficult several months, the pregnancy must have been running in parallel to most of it. It sounds like you need a glass of something sparkling to toast the baby’s arrival.

Helena, I’m also reluctantly forced to agree that this is not going to be an outdoors week, I’m such a wuss I want to stay indoors in the warm…Though it is nice to see all the daffodils and primulas out, and the winter pansies are going great guns now.

Thank you Dizzy and Lesley xx
I remember them telling me they were trying when I was first diagnosed I can’t believe it’s gone so quickly. We will definitely toasting little Macsen tonight xxxx
