Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Is that his name Clair, Macsen?  Never heard that before but I like it.  Dinner is in the oven and I’ve already poured a glass of vino, Had to as had to toast the safe arrival of Clairs grandson.  Think we’ve all got dibs on him, he’s going to be our lucky mascot now bless him xx

Clair is a Grandma! How old are you ?..you always come across as simply not old enough. Huge congratulations, nothing like a new family baby to make you feel happy.

Thank you lovelies, Charys I’m a young Nanna as I started early lol. yes that’s his name it’s Welsh and means greatest. So I’d be very proud for him to be our mascot xxx

We’ve just had a short lived flurry of snow here, in’t cold North !!

Darlin-Dizzy - yeh, you put your feet up gal. Have only to been on a day trip to Maggiore, from Como. Didn’t like Come, too small, restrictve shaped lake, plus a bit scruffy compared to Garda, apart form Bellagio. I wanted to go to Venice, before i went, just from looking at paintings and photos of it. But, it is at it’s absolute best low season and before and after the day trippers have gone home.

Yeh, I felt my head was either Arteritis or, more worryingly to me with my family stroke history, tiny clots or emboli breaking off from a constricted artery, which then travel and can become lodged in the tinier diammeter capillaries. Often in the brain - causing T.I.As, or worse - a stroke. These would explain the pain “travelling”. The favoured places for constrictions are in the neck, or Carotid arteries. Or a circular network of arteies at the base of the called the Circle of Willis. Both those are favoured areas to get build ups of arterisclerosis, or thickening to the internal artery walls. As well as the Cardiac arteries of course. I have often have an irregular heartbeat, which haapens more often, as in the last two years. But I’m in for an ECG this week, as a precaution for the Bi-Polar med, Quetiapine, so that’ll likely show up any irregularities.

I’m more concerned about my left hand, which is now quite disabling, in that I now struggle to grip anything, and can’t lift and hold with it. Bit of a huge bummer. So, I’ll see how I go on locally for a while, but if I not getting anywhere with them, I’ll have to ask/request again, to be referred to the specialist hand unit elsewhere. They have all sorts of gadget to use to help strengthen the muscles, or help to stretch the tendons. I’m always massaging my palm ares and stretching my fingers. Corr what - sorry, nuff of all that for now.

Charys - You’re such a flattering smooth talker !!

Just going out to get some more Dolcilatte cheese to add to last nights Linguini, wasn’t quite enough left. Listen to me - just call me Adelita from now on. has a somewhat suitably sophisticated, but sexy ring to it, don’t ya think? And that’s me all over - not. And blast, I’ve just broadcast to the world, my secret ingredient !! Awww shucks, I was gonna start production for M & S - Delly’s Delli.

Maybe see you all Laters, girls xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Helena

i think things are starting to improve. Don’t know if I was a right or not, but I’ve been dabbing TCP on this lump a couple times a day over the weekend, and good god it’s definitely some kind of abscess as after the shower this morning it kind of erupted. TMI I know but I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. It’s still really sore this evening but at least I can move my arm now without bringing tears to my eyes. The lump is smaller but still prominent so I don’t think this is over yet!

Im really hoping that the infection will start to clear up now but I may well give the GP a call on Thursday for another prescription just in case.

I’m wondering if I’ve had some kind of infection for a while and that’s why I’ve been in so much pain since rads finished and it’s taken all this time to rear its ugly head. Guess I’ll never know now.

How are you doing? Hope you’re managing to get the rest that you need.

Fantastic news about little Macsen, Clair, congratulations to you all ??!
love to everybody

Coooo, isn’t having a new baby on the thread thrilling. We’re all buzzing with hime Clair, and I’m feeling like Aunty Delly.

What a strange co-incidence, after me calling myself Adelita, that I went for more of the cheese and a few etceteras, and the name of some rasberries was . . . . . Adelita !!!

Thick frost up here tonight.

Who was it told me not to bother with La La land?? As you’re the second person I know to booo it, and shalln’t bother. Did pick up a copy of “The Danish girl” on reduced sale, but shall save for when I’m in the mood for summat more serious. Know it had many awards.

BTW, to those in receipt of your mugs, the 4 packs of notelets I ordered are really lovely, beautiful Peonies,Agapanthus, Hysteria (!!) arches, and what’s the similar drooping yellow one called (can’t bring it to mind - there’s a famous walk at Bodnant Gardens in Wales, what the flips it called - the seeds are poisonous. Aaaaaargh), and a lovely painted picture of snowdrops. All Bu-iful. Loads to keep me going. Got some gift wrap too.

Janey - yeh. It’s all right me gunning for this meet up, but I’m not suffering fatigue etc. that some of you are, so maybe your right, and have two. Oh god, that’s but that’s gonna confuse things even more - mmmmmm.

Maybe I should pick Helena up and we do a day meet in Bristol, earlier than Summer, with whoever wants and can make Bristol. Then see whoever wants to meet up, or even as an “as well as”, perhaps keeping it to Exeter in the Summer. What do you all think girlies.I take it you drive Helena?? If so, we could praps meet at the nearest motorway services to you, and just go on from there to Bristol, and I drop you off again. On a good traffic free run, it takes me 1 1/4 hrs to get to Brummie, and another hour or so to Bristol, again dependent on traffic. Maybe Bristol in May/June, Exeter July/Aug ???

Bethy - I’m glad I dodged at the right time, to avoid the spurting abscess!!! One of the best antiseptics you to use, if you can get it, is Betadine solution, for something thats moist and deepish. you can wash out with it. We used it to paint on the skin pre-op, just as they use often it in hospital pre-ops. you can get it in ointment form too, from good chemists. It’s Iodine based, so no good if your allergic to Iodine, but few people are. Brilliant stuff - the best. I keep a tube in my rucksack foot pack for any walkers i may be out with, should they have probs. Anyway, I hope it clears up soon, because I may not dodge the next spurt. Ha ha hee haw.

Am just finishing a “wet the baby” glass of vino - any excuse really !!

Nitey nitey xxxxxxxxxx  Did an all nighter again last night!! Tired tonight tho - good.

Delly, laburnum??

Bethy - What does TMI mean?? xx

Delly, Beth could tell you, but it would be Too Much Information!

Good morning Willows, the sun is shining here, hope it’s shining down on you all too xx

Hello willows

Back home from my morning at work.  Wow at 7am this morning my car was covered in thick ice, took 10 mins to defrostm left work at 12pm and whilst driving home it was raining, hailstones and snow, made for interesting driving.

Delly I heard on the radio that some roads around Macc are closed or difficult to pass because of the snow, hope it is not too bad where you are?

Right time for lunch, a hearty bowl of chicken and orzo soup yummy

Helena xxxx

Dear Ladies I am sorry to have to do this publicly on your forum but I have been left with no choice. I have repeatedly asked Delly not to continue to contact me and not to send gifts etc to me. I have blocked the emails and the calls and have made my thoughts and feeling perfectly clear to her. She has said in previous posts that she would accept my decision to have no further contact with her but continued to contact me. I have returned numerous unsolicited gifts which she has continued to send including flowers and today a card. Whilst I appreciate she has her issues I am asking her publicly now to stop. I do not want th gifts or the cards. It is my wish to be left alone in peace to get in with my chemo treatment. I am sorry to do this on here but I am hoping she will listen to you as she is really starting to upset me now at what is already a very traumatic time.
Please let this be an end to this.
Regards

I’m so sorry to hear this as you’ve got enough to deal with already. Xxxx

Delly I know you mean well but please listen to this lady. She needs all her strength to deal with her treatment at the moment. Sometimes in life we have to do what’s right for others.
Love to you all and I really hope you can find a way to sort this out love Clair xxx

Sue and Clair,
Thank you so much for your understanding.
Hugs

Ladies

I have just noticed that we are only a couple of hundred posts off 5000, wonder what date in March we will achieve that heady total

My dr and Bc consultant have both said I need an urgent referral to gyne so I rang for an appointment ( as you have to do it yourself now) and the first appointment i can get is 7th April!
Also baby has to stay in hospital a bit longer for observations. I’ll be glad when.this week is over xxx

Hi Clair

can you get yourself on a cancellation list? Some hospitals have them so might be worth asking the question love.  Glad you have one for April though.

I bet they’re just keeping a little eye on Macsen as he was a bit early. He’ll soon be home an waiting for his nana to visit.

Helena - we are rattling through these posts here! 5000 will be done in no time I’m sure!
