Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Oh hold on up I’ve only been on the train for 5 mins, you’ll only be down the road from where you live lol

Waving at you all, rocking the Hagrid hair look!! Xx

Btw - you talkative lot!!! Who got the 5000th posting?? xxxx

Delly, lovely to see you back, and good to know you’re further down your long list of problems to sort out. (The cataract, the car, and the reconstruction as well I think? Those are the expanders you’re talking about??)

I hope you know we miss you when you’re not around.

Janey, I’m sure you won’t read this till tonight, but I hope you have a great day. And the Hagrid hair behaves itself, along with the flushes.

Rubycat, I hope the aches and pains are a bit better today?

Have I missed it, has Lily been on recently, I don’t remember hearing from her for a while?

Hi guys

Done a couple of individual replies but wanted to say hello to you all.

Well thats another working week finished for me, ooohhh I love this part time work, it gives me the contact with people I need and time at home with Colin.  He officially was retired on illhealth basis last week, it has been quite a stressful long drawn out process but he has got there.

The weather here is rubbish today, total opposite from yesterday, typical when I could have got in the garden.

Beth, CHarys, Lesley, ruby, Moijan, et al hope you are all having a lovely day despite the weather.

Going to make some lunch now and then get back to my tapestry, I have been commisioned to do one for a lady at work, feeling nervous now, it is ok doing it for yourself but for someone else, however I will take it in my stride.

Helena xxx

Helena, yes it is a lot cooler today, but now you know that when it gets better again you and Colin can enjoy some time in the garden again. Something to look forward to, which is lovely for both of you.

I have the heating back on today. But I’m back to the allotment this afternoon, must get my shallots planted! When I went yesterday I thought there was a nun on the adjoining plot, it turned out my neighbour has decided to wear a hijab while gardening to keep her hair clean and out of her eyes. No, she’s a 70 year old local, not a Muslim, so it looked really odd, it’s no wonder I did a double take.

Awwww, Thanks LadyH and Dizzy.

No,my own name for Charys wasn’t “Crafty”, but am going back a while now. You all nicknamed her that, because she was good at crafts.

Helena - Glad Colins got his ill health retirement through. What’s the design for your commissioned tapestry?

Dizzy- No, the expanders were from 2 1/2 yrs ago. Am down for the next op to have replaced with silicons, end of April.

Yeh, I noticed Lovely-Lily hasn’t been on for a long while now. Hope you’re all right flower.

Am off on a mission to find out what Janey visit to Westminster’s about.

Thanks for your warm welcomes back.

Love to everyone

Oh boy, it’s taken me ages to catch up on you lot, so much has happen since I last peeped in.

Well done Beth.  Yes, it’s a big decision but you now know it’s the right one.  If you want to go before your three months notice period is up, just go to the doctors and get signed off sick, you will still be employed (under contract) but on sick leave, eff all they can do about it.  I’m sure with all you’re going through the doctor will be happy to keep signing sick notes for the next three months.

Fantastic about Colin sitting in the garden Helena, amazing what a bit of sunshine does for our physical and mental wellbeing.

Hope you’re having a fantastic time in Westminster Janey.

Wonderful to have you back Delicious Delly.

Clair, Charys, Dizxy, Rubycat and all you other lovelies, I hope you’re all ok.  So glad you had a nice night out after your difficult day Clair.  So our Lily has gone AWOL now, perhaps she’s gone back to Italy.

right, better get on, himself is still poorly and I left him alone most of the day as went to town early(ish) this morning, got nails done, eyebrows waxed and tinted, oh boy, I’m looking HOT!  Just need the lawn mower run over my head and I’ll be presentable.  Saturday meeting up with my old colleagues for afternoon tea.  Change of venue, now going to Raymond Blancs place, suppose I’d better be on my best behaviour xx

Hi ladies,

Here is East Sussex spring has definitely sprung! Wall to wall sunshire for the past two days and finally able to get out into the woods to see the bluebells growing strongly. Not long and they will be carpeted in them again.

Cute-sheep.gif

One has little troubles, such as achey joints and muscles - but they are manageable. Although am exploring whether it is the letrozole (which can cause this) or actually the type of bisphosphonate I am taking. Time will tell.

Coinciding with the arrival of spring are also some mile stones. I wore an underwired bra for the first time, since my op in March last year.  So nice to be able to wear the prettier ones again!

This Saturday - an appointment booked with my favourite hairdresser. The time has come - after nearly 12 months - to have a proper haircut again!

It is so nice so be able to reach these little, seemingly small points in time. However they really underline that I am recovering from the rigours and effects of my treatments at last.

Hugs to all

Sue x

Hello ladies
Just a little tip …I love underwire bras as they are normally prettier and a better shape but find the wires still rub the scar from the drainage bottles ( lumpectomy 13 Years ago) but I buy them and just take out the wires which doesn’t seem to make much difference to the support .
Helena …love the new design for the tapestry …it’s really trendy and clever.
As I’m a townie …love the lambs frolicking around …wish i had their energy .

Hi again “Fluffies”

Thanks Lesley - good to see you too. Hope your hubby’s better soon.

Helena - That’s fantastic on your Onc news, I’m so chuffed for you.

Well I can’t find Janeys news, must be further back. So can one of you tell me what the Westminister visit is about??

Much love to everyone

Delly, Janey has gone to Westminster with her team to collect an award that they won for being marvellous.  Of course we all know our Janey is marvellous is every way.  Himself is in bed moaning and groaning, and not in an erotic way…

Well hello my lovelies (hic!). A lovely day being praised for once rather than vilified as a profession and a lovely tour of parliament with bonus of seeing the chapel and the cupboard Appletree Yard referred to!
I’ve just had a couple of hours catching up with my late friend’s husband. Unfortunately 2 gins (they must have been doubles!) have left me a little worse for wear! I’m now sat on a train on my way to Mum’s in East Sussex for her birthday weekend. OH driving up to join me on Saturday. We will probably be looking at the same lambs Sue! Hoping I won’t fall asleep on the train (hic again!). You’ve all been very busy and good to see you out and about in daylight Delly! Love to all xx

Yeah Ann is back ! Lily has gone awol though.

Morning all! No lambs spotted yet, but off to coffee and then a nursery to see what exciting seeds I can find. Helena I’m growing cosmos too, they germinate very speedily. I’m just hopeful OH will remember to gently water all the trays. Lesley, having re read messages without gin goggles, I just wanted to say you’re marvellous and clearly also very glamorous for all that preparation yesterday. Have a wonderful time with Raymond! Happy Fridays … now where are those lambs?!

PANIC…  Just received a letter inviting me for a mammogram on 12 May.  I assumed it was just the routine one so rang up to explain that I’d been diagnosed /treated for BC etc.  They checked and said that yes I do need to have it done as my BC consultant had requested it to be done prior to my appointment with him on 23 June.  My boob is still permanently sore and sensitive and sometimes painful so am dreading it being squeezed/clamped into that photocopier in less than 2 months.  So now that to fret about as well as the first check up.

Have a lovely weekend in Sussex Janey xx

That’s correct Charys, I was diagnosed on 23 May, surgery 8 June, started rads end of July.  All done and dusted pdq, for which Im very thankful.  However, still dreading poor Boobie being clamped when it’s still so sore.  Plus still got the old crispy nipple thing going on, Have you?

You were ahead of me by about 6 weeks or so I think?  Maybe you should chase them up. I got my appointment through for first year check up with BC consultant day after I saw him for the 2 week post op check up.  Was confused at first as didn’t notice the year and I thought I’d missed the appointment by a day Xx

Good tip Rubycat, I’ll take paracetamol before, and I will ask the nurse at the next BC support group meeting which is next Thursday about sore boob.  I haven’t worried too much about it though as read in here quite often that others experience same and have said when they’ve asked that pain can go on for a year or longer. It did get better then seemed to start aching and then sharp stabbing pains started up a few weeks ago.  I was wondering if it had anything to do with the injection in my shoulder and started worrying.  Then I thought, stop! Check up is soon and I’m sure we’re all the same in that we worry too much about every twinge.  Hopefully everything will go ok at  checkup and I’ll be able to relax a bit and really start putting it all behind me and moving on.  Maybe you, like Charys need to get on the phone and chase up.  You never know, it’s all down to the administrators, some better than others xx

Janey - Ruby’s already eaten 'em all. Bang goes my chance at fulfilling a little, small, as still UNfulfilled desire, to go to one of the open farm places you can go to, to feed them and have contact with other farm animals. She’s a selfish minx. Plus, you do know it’ll push the cost of lamb up even further, when you already need to take outa mortgage, even if it’s just chops. Why’s that then, when there’s “usually” loads of them frollicking around. All stemmed from the foot and mouth. Mmmmm, me thinks there’s a lamb cartel operating in this country!! And that Ruby’s at the head of it, don’t you all !! N.Z. lamb is often cheaper than ours now!! Used to be the other way round.

Moijan - Thanks for you welcome gal, and thank you for your kind email enquiries after me. Glad YOU are doing well at the mo’ too.

Carolyn - hello flower. I also used to take the wires out of underwired bras, and I agree, it didn’t make a hapeth of a difference to the look and result. I’m going back to the mid 70’s now, when they became very fashionable - thanks to a certain bra manufacturer, G*ss*rd, and a famous stunning bill board poster, of a particularly gorgeous model, well modelling one. Caused a rush of girls (me one of then) and women to go out and purchase. Can’t remember who she is/was now, but she and that poster made the headlines in a few of the tabloids.

Helena - forgive my gardening ignorance - Cosmos - are they a form of daisies?? or something else.

I’m doing okay, after Tuesdays eye op, bit sore and just a bit frustrated at not being able to do an awful lot physically, bending, lifting, carrying, no dusting, hoovering (no difficulty there!!), so have more time to come annoy you all on here - Mwahahahahaaaaaaa !! :smileytongue: Can’t even have a hair cut for 4 weeks, to prevent hair cuttings getting into and irritating the eye ball, but I can buy an eye patch to seal it off - “Oooo - Arrrrrr mr hearties” says Long Legged Delly. Definitely no driving for a week .But after that, if it’s doing okay, I can book an eye test to check and ensure my sight’s safe to drive, so maybe 10 days or so. But I’m not rushing that one - can manage without, being very convenient and every/anything I need is well within a 1/2 hr walk. It’s just stopped me mid flow when I’d been getting “stuck in” to a mass of piled up jobs, from my long period of lows.

Was soooo glad I’d spent as much time as I did, in searching for a car. Eventually picked myself a really good deal up, on a high spec, 2013, automatic Focus. Thinking it may possibly be my last car, gave myself a reasonable budget of £6,000, to get the youngest, lowest mileage I could. Drove down to Helena’s, Brummieland, to look and inspect it, then jumped on the train the next day to pick it up and drive back. Am well pleased with, or was until I’m back driving again. My only concern, being, I’m always careful to avoid bumping doors on things, but other car owners aren’t always so careful, and it has no plastic trim on the doors to protect it from others door bashing. Can have something done about that tho. But I feel my patience and persistence has paid off. Was good to feel something more “solid” under my buttocks (sorry!!), after the hire car I’d been driving.

Have my 2nd recon op, to have expanders replaced with silicons, 28th of April, now aided with the extra benefit of a “Strattice” or tissue matrix sling, which I’d thoroughly reasearched into, and originally asked if I could have it, 3 years ago, when I was initially “embarking” on recon and surgeons. Was told it couldn’t be used for “delayed” recon from a mastectomy position. Requires me to have to have a drain installed for a week following. The benefits being - it gives extra support to the implant, it smooths the outline edges of it, and it helps prevent “rippling” when you lift up your arms. So, I may be very glad, I fell off that recon horse and delayed things further, due to my dire mental state back then, because the surgeon should be able to achieve, and I should end up with a much better result. However many years it’s taken for me to get this far with it all !!!   You never know - I  (or my boobs) may then appear on one of those bill boards somewhere,  modelling bras?! Perhaps in a public convenience ??!

Lesley - sorry, you’ve posted whilst I’ve been at this lengthy one, so this is by no means an aside or Post-Script add-on. Firstly, I can only agree with Janey, cos I’ve got my special “Were-Delly” Forum X-ray specs on - you’re definitely looking Fab-u-lous woman. I know you’re now a bit phased by this additional Mammo, but to me it’s a good thing, given that you’ve been having lots of pains. But more importantly - to me it shows your Consultant is being a very diligent one. That can only ever be good - Yes?? Also, we tend to rely on being “directed” by our medics. I’m sure, if before then, May, that if you had increasing concerns, with your pains, you could be checked out sooner.

In the meantime - if only as a welcome distraction - enjoy your very spesh sounding afternoon tea with the “girlies”. Am sure there’ll be lots of giggling going on.

Sorry for my loooong post. Think it’s because I’ve missed you all.

But where is that Lillium lady?? Have you flitted off to Italy again woman?? If so, why wasn’t I invited.  Hope it’s because of that and not something untowards, flower.

Have already caught Charys and Moijan - gently, I add.  Corr-Claireebee - You doin okay??

Hope all of not mentioned, Dizzy, Sue, Ruby, Ann, Carolyn  are having a good day.

Lotsa lurrrrrv
