Ladies

Well I have had a very productive day today.  I went to a local garden centre bought a dwarf red acer, for my patio, Dicentra (bleeding heart), anemone, Leucothoe walter shrub. All planted out and several patio plants repotted, gosh I have been a busy girl, Prosecco time me thinks

Hope everyone is well, its been quiet on here today so you must be all busy.

Helena xxxx

well, Helena, we got a new lawn mower today, as it would have cost just as much to repair the old one, so limping or not, he can do at least part of the lawn next time!

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling down, I certainly find that getting out & being active helps, so hope you feel better soon x

love to everyone x

Ah bleeding hearts are brilliant in the spring, I have two large ones Helena, and they are so reliable every year and flower really nice and early in the season…in fact they are right now.

Hello flowers ??
A gloomy start with a sunny evening and much gardening - well lots of pouring of nematodes onto the garden, to get rid of the pesky slugs already munching away and not hurt the birds. Work done we went for a walk along Exeter Quay, early supper and now Dr Who on Catch up - we know how to live!
Helena sorry you’ve been feeling low but glad gardening works magic for you too. We shall have to swap cosmos pics when they start to flower!
I hope you’ve all had good days. Off to Cornwall tomorrow for the day and hoping for more walking.
Hugs xx

hiya, Janey, forgot about Dr Who, so will catch-up later.
My OH is the gardener in our household, but sadly he’s not into anything floral, so only wants to grow ‘useful’ things.
Well, it keeps the veg bill down & its so tasty ??? !
love to all xxx

Helena, I’m glad you’re feeling better, gardening always cheers me up as well. We’ve spent a fair bit of time in the garden in the last couple of days, I’ve bought a load of plants and now need to decide where to put them. Not the way you’re supposed to do things, I’m a hopeless impulse buyer when you turn me loose in a garden centre.

We’re making a sort of courtyard garden down the side of the house, we used to have a drive that went completely from front to back, but we’ve put big gates up to close it off. Two of our living room windows face onto it so I wanted to make it look a bit better than a blank fence and block paving. So I have bay trees in pots and a couple of veg trugs that we’re going to use for herbs and bush tomatoes and salad leaves, with hanging baskets over. So far I’ve done the donkey work, painting the fence and scraping all the moss and weeds from the block paving. I’m looking forward to starting to fill the trugs up, I was looking at herbs and lettuce seeds today.

Last year I really didn’t do anything at all in the garden other than keeping it weeded and mown, so it feels really good this year to make changes, it makes me feel like I’ve got my life back.

Hello Janey
I think the world and his wife was on Exeter quay yesterday as the traffic was busy …lovely place and we are lucky to have it.
Between selling and buying our house we rented a house there …it was a lovely five months …just to walk out front door and be there !

Happy Easter fluffies ???

I know rubycat will come up with a lovely pic later but you are all putting me to shame as I’m a gardening disaster …hubby does it .
As we had a big patch of boring lawn, he bought a circular feature of coloured slabs which looks nice …think he’s going to put a small Apple tree in a pot as a feature in the middle .
Enjoy oodles of choc today

Hapoy Easter everyone xxx

Janey

Having never heard of synesthesia before you posting about you having this ability with numbers, I am watching Sunday Brunch and the singer Callum Beattie has it and he sees his music in colour.  Amazing

Happy Easter everyone dont eat too many easter eggs.

My “easter egg” this year is a set of3 terracotta planters, Colin really knows how to spoil me, looking forward to them arriving they will go lovely on my patio.

Helena

Happy Easter ? On our way to Cornwall for the day and hopefully not too much chocolate!
Helena what a lovely Easter present and brilliant about the synaesthesia- it’s not just me who is odd!
Have lovely days all xx

Helena, we haven’t had any rain in weeks, I can’t believe how dry the garden is. I gave one of the borders a soaking with the hose and have mulched it with bark. I may also have carefully watered and mulched a couple of weeds, I have two healthy happy clumps and I haven’t the faintest idea what they are. I do try to put labels on things but Daisy usually goes off with them. Your Easter pressie sounds lovely, Colin obviously knows exactly what to get for you. It must be harder for you to choose something for him though.

Janey, I hope you have a lovely day in Cornwall.

And to all the other Fluffies, I hope you’re enjoying Easter Sunday.

Good evening Willows,

just a quick pop in to wish you all a hapoy Easter.  Been busy all day, washing, ironing and just finished packing our case for our four day break away.  Unfortunately nowhere exotic, Great Yarmouth but looking forward to it.  By the time I’d got all my clothes in the case there was hardly any room for himselfs stuff, oh boy, didn’t he grumble, why do women have to take so much etc…  We are going by coach so could have taken a second smaller case but as we are going to the coach pick up point with our friends and they are taking a case each there’s only room in the boot of the car for 3 cases so I said we would be fine with the one. That’s the problem going away in the UK, you need to pack clothes for all weather conditions.

I’ll probably be popping in to see what you’re all up to, so Helena, I know youve been watching Broadchurch too and I won’t be able to watch Monday’s final episode until I get back, so please don’t mention on here “who did it”.  It’s been brilliant.

Anyway, I hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend and got lots of Easter eggs, I didn’t get any.  When I moaned about it himself reminded me that I was complaining I’d put on weight and was going on a diet so if he’d got me one I’d had told him off, I probably would have but still xx

Well I shall keep quiet about Broadchurch too, but oh my goodness Line of Duty! Ann what did you make of Doctor Who? A tantalising glimpse of John Sim!
Lesley have a wonderful break and with chocolate!
Fabulous day in Cornwall and another 10000 steps!
Dizzy yes please to garden pictures. I’m so sad I went straight to the dahlias with a torch when we got home, to flick off slugs!
Thinking of all of you today and again praising this site, as I heard of someone else with BC and not having found this place. Love to all xx

omg janey, I missed John Sim, will have to watch again now. Cornwall’s one of our favourite places, so we must go back.
We are going to watch ‘line of duty’ on catch-up, so please dont spill, anyone!
Spent most of the evening binge watching ‘designated survivor’ on netflix.
off to zzzzzz now
love to you all
xxx

Ann I should have said John Sim was in the trailer for the rest of the series - just a flash but enough to tantalise. No giveaways for Line of Duty promise - but it was as good as always!
A quiet day at home for us today and glad to recharge batteries - although too much housework on the to do list!!
Xx

Lesley, I hope you have a lovely time away.

Janey, your devotion to duty is much greater than mine, I am completely squeamish when it comes to slugs.

We have a quiet day planned, a walk in a bluebell wood with the daughter and the dog. The offspring go home tomorrow, so I’ll be making the most of their last day.

The OH has a gastroscopy tomorrow, both of us are a bit nervous about what they’ll find…I think it’s just a precaution, but I’ll be glad to get it over and done with.

Have a lovely day everyone.
