Progesterone, assorted other hormones and fluffy cake

Delly Delicious, Colin Baker is an actor, he played doctor Who for a few years (not to be mistaken for Tom Baker who also played the role). It’s funny, but a few months ago I was sitting in the X-ray department in our local hospital and saw a chap who I recognised but could not place him, I presumed he was a friend of himself’s and was

embarrassed that I could not remember his name, so just gave him a huge smile and asked how he was? It was only after I got called in I realised it was Colin Baker and I didnt actually know him personally.  He was in I’m a Celeb a couple of years ago, talking of which, it’s on soon so time to make a cuppa and settle down to watch it xx

Hello fluffies
I made it through the week and with the Christmas play rehearsals in full swing I’m tired but happy. I definitely feel like I’ve turned a small corner as I’ve accepted an appointment for a bra and prosthesis fitting next week, it might seem like a small thing but I’ve avoided it up till now.
I’m looking forward to doing some Christmas market shopping and going to see Kingston Lacey in lights this weekend.
Still no snow yet ? Xxxx

Delly, phase two is the after treatment is over now what stage! I just need to get my head sorted now my body is nearly put back together. So I’m looking for any help I can get from you all, I’m a bit all over the place at the moment.

Clair, good for you for looking at prosthetics. The problem if your BC breast is smaller is it doesn’t get properly supported because your bra is fitted to your bigger side. So a partial prosthetic fills the cup out again so you’re supported again. And for me it was about looking normal in clothes because my imbalance was really noticeable.

The other advantage to wearing a layer of silicone gel over your boob, it’s a handy bit of padding if you get knocked!

Clair - Awwww, that IS good news you’re feeling better and more positive. Long may it continue for you darlin’. Yeh, you get your boob prosthetic sorted. It’ll give you another boost xxx

Dizzy - Ah, am with you now chummy on the 2nd stage. Think this poor sleep makes me a bit thick or slow on the uptake sometimes. Well that’s my excuse anyway.

Janey - Are you still getting better sleep? I popped in on the “Kick up the Backside Thread” last night, to have a bit of a catch up on the sleepless and anxiety gang and go have a look at how Jill, Belle and Rachy are doing. Got some new herbal remedy tabs on their way to try, that are supposed to boost up your melatonin and serotonin production and so aid sleep, see how I go with those.

LesleyLush - Thanks for filling me in on Colin Baker. I remembered him when you mentioned Dr Who. Wasn’t for long was he. What you like, talking to famous strangers, thinking they’re hubby’s friends! I sometimes see some of the Corrie stars, at the huge M & S near here, always say Hello and “Do you know, you look even better in the flesh than on the screen”. Doesn’t matter which of them it is. I know, not sure if I’m being ultra charming or smarmy !!

Read elsewhere, that Omega 3 + 6 can help lift mood, due to its high Vit D content, as well as it’s general benefits to the joints, skin and nerves, so am going to kick Eve Prim into touch and switch to those.

These last  8 months, I keep having the odd day!! when I’m more “up” and more hopeful, as opposed to previously a few weeks or couple of months. But soon come crashing back down, next day even, and back to being frozen and debilitated. Just stagnant and unable to move myself forward with ANYthing. Some of it important stuff that’s draining my funds.

I need to go out and get a few hand helper gadgets. I’m okay yet with the can opener I have, but boy did I struggle with a pull tab lid on a tin of flippin Tuna last night. Quite a few choice words were uttered. Plus tin lids are the worst for causing nasty cuts in fingers, which I don’t want do I with the risk of infection to both arms/hands. Don’t yet know if there’s anything to tackle child proof (yeh, big kid Delly) pill tops and bleach bottles, where you have to push both sides in together, which I can’t do. I now resort to mangling up the top by levering it off with a knife. Need a pair of wide opening pincers. I’ll go have a look in the mobilty shop in town.

Speaking of which, how are the finger (BethyBoo) and fumb (Ruby) girls doing with their injured/trigger digits??

BTW, I wasn’t being nowty the other week, when I was talking more about the reasons that keep cropping up, that are still preventing me being adopted by a furry friend again. Sorry if it came over that way, after rereading it recently. Was just trying to say it as it is really, without going into too much detail, which isn’t easy for me to do, as you all know.

Have just wrapped up and popped to the shop for a chilly, fresh wake-up blast of air and big dobbin snowflakes. So pretty, but they’ve stopped again now. Sky’s looking very heavy and snowy though.

Hope everyone on here, whether old members or new postees are good, doing okay, or at least a bit better. Probably be popping on and off today, but wishing you all a good one.

Lotsa love, Dellypoos xxxxxxxx

Morning Delly

I’m the worst non sleeper ever .tried Kalms and didn’t work for me but on the secondary threads a couple of ladies say a pillow spray called " This Works" is very good so I have taken the bull by the horns and ordered a small sample spray for £4.99 on Amazon to try it out before I invest in a full size bottle which I think is £18 in Boots …will let u know.

Anyway fluffies…
Where is today’s Xmas pictures? I did my bit yesterday with a sparkly father Xmas. .xxx

This is a first for me Christmas Tree up so early

our xmas tree 2017.JPG

I’m having terrible trouble getting on this site nowadays, seems I am probably alone in that ? It can be hours where I just ‘time out’ and can’t get on. Anyways, morning all! Good BOY hedgepig ate all his food last night, really surprising considering it was -2 degrees out there. As Carolyn is moaning about a lack of sparkle…

Ooh Helena, send that snow here! And I hope you’re well tucked up to ride out the snowstorm at home, that doesn’t sound like a day for going to work.

Morning fluffies,
Hello lovely Delly it’s so good to hear from you ? Xx
I’m loving all the sparkly pics there is still no snow here just rain this morning ? Helena I hope your all snuggled up in the warm and it doesn’t get to bad where you are xxxx
Janey I totally get how you feel Kt is working late nights and it feels horrid without her here and this year will be the first year our eldest won’t be here on Christmas Day but he has his own little family now and we’ll see them next week so I call it an extended Christmas. Xxx
I had a great day shopping with the hubby yesterday nearly done now and just got the card writing and present wrapping to do.
We were hoping to go to a Christmas market in Dorch today but it’s pouring down with rain at the moment so I’m hoping it clears up.
I can’t believe I’m up so early and wide awake ! blooming cat woke me at 4.30 so decided to make a drink and I’ll watch a film in a bit. Catch up later love and hugs cxxx

Oops view from the lounge at 9.30am this morning and it is still coming down, apparently we have snow until 6pm tonight.  Definitely no car to work tomorrow if at all.

snow sunday.JPG

Happy snowy Sunday gorgeous Willows,

Zoe, so sorry you’re at such a low point.  Have you got snow where you are?  Maybe a walk in the countryside   Might lift you up a bit, though it sounds as if it will take a lot more than that.  You need to speak to someone ASAP and get some proper help and support.  Sending  you a huge hug xx

Went to a friends for lunch yesterday but had such a throbbing head I took a massive dose of painkiller before setting off.  Had just the one glass of vino with lunch (albeit a large one) and next minute I couldn’t walk or talk properly and her son had to drive me home.  Conked out for a few hours, then full blown migraine and only now beginning to feel part normal.  Could not believe my eyes when I looked out and saw the snow this morning and it’s still chucking it down.  All looks very Christmassy, however, I have something in the diary everyday this week right upto next Sunday so a bit concerned about getting about.  I keep thinking I wish I still had a dog to take out and watch them have fun in the snow.

Suppose I’d better start and think about dinner, as I was out of it Himself didn’t bother with food last night either and he can’t afford not to eat.  Catch up with you all later xx

A’ noon Loveleeees,

We keep getting little smatterings of the white stuff up here. Just been laughing at the neighbours cat. Never seen it cross the grass so quickly to avoid frostbitten paws.

Helena - Oh you are such a sweetiepie, thank you so much for sending that link. I’ll order that ring puller. The tops I mentioned are those on tablet canisters and bleach bottles, where you have to push in on both sides whilst turning it off - you know bloody Delly proof ! ha ha. Think I’ll get my best monkey wrench out, then there’ll be no messin about. Ooooo a gargoyle. Bit too scarey for me, rather have a jolly red nosed, fat bellied gnome. That’s a very pretty tree, H.If you’re gonna get another 4" of snow, that’s going to double the depth of that great big iced cake on top of your garden table. Doesn’t it just look like one!

Yey Carolyn, How are you doing down there in that lovely city and county. I’m slowly working through sleep rems. Think I’d rather write “This works” on the label of something alcofrolicly strong and just glugg it down. That’d send me off. Actually I took myself off alcohol a week ago, but maybe “thats” why I’m not zzzz’ing, mmmmm. Yes, thank you, I’d be interested to know if it helps. Wonder if it has lavendar in, for it’s sooothing effects. Just now caught LadyHelena’s more recent post on Lavendar. Tried counting sheep, but “they” all fell asleep whilst staring at me wide awake.

Charys - That’s an abfab piccie. How long do you have little “Fang” for then?

Janey - Yeh flower, no sleep sucks, so I’m dead jealous. What they called Peregan/Paragen, antihistamine based did you say? I did quite a bit of research earlier this week, on both aids to sleep supplements, anything for raising mood and a recommend on one of the Complementary therapy threads for helping hot flushes whilst also boosting energy. I shalln’t have any room in my kitchen cupboards for pots soon due to storing all these tabs. They’re probably all made from teachers chalk dust mixed up with some finely powdered janitors pink sawdust anyway!! You know, the sort the caretaker used to come and sprinkle on the latest pool of schoolkid sick to soak it up, then brushed it up, and then mopped it over with disinfectant. Yes, it was PINK !! ha ha. Don’t you all remember it. Where on earth did that memory come from? What useful information I remember from my schooling. Yeh, snow makes the grottiest thing look pretty. I also like that it tends to quieten and muffle everything.

Hey Dizzy - Bet your husband secretly loves your kinky hospital bra - whoohoo! Hope your booby stops itching and soon shrinks to it’s desired size.

Hello lovely Clair - shame you couldn’t have just pressed the snooze button on the cat alarm this morning. You’ll have to wiggle it’s whiskers to sneakily put it’s clock back another 3 hours. You still feeling better.

Just had one of those cat toy laser play lights sent as a pressie for the bedraggled stray cat my friend recently took in, after finding out it’s owners had moved a week ago and just left it!! What ba++ards :smileymad: Janey, she’s the friend who had her big toe op about 8-9 wks ago now. Having major probs with what is now a chronic infection in the wound which has now also produced cellulitis, causing all her foot and lower leg to swell up. She’s well peed off with. Poor chummy. Got my BCC “Puddy Cat” xmas cards this morning so wrote and gave her the first one, for a bit of a giggle.

Just gonna post this before it goes into Never Found Again land. X

Hello lovely Zoe
I’m so sorry your feeling so down but remember it’s totally normal ,well our new normal to feel like this so take each day as it comes and go with it as much or as little you can . Don’t feel like you have to do things give yourself some healing time.
Do you have a support group near you? Now I avoided any help at all costs up until recently and I really wish I’d spoken to someone earlier I know it’s really hard but I promise it does help it’s like a huge weight being lifted .
We’re all here for you whenever you feel the need to off load and honestly don’t ever hold back we totally understand always.
Christmas can be a hard time and I struggled last year and just got through it but this year is so different so it will get better just be kind to yourself .
Love and hugs always Clair xxxxx

Zoe ,sorry you are feeling so rubbish -I totally understand ,when you are feeling low /anxious Christmas just seems to make you feel worse -you feel you should be happy and celebrating but you are just not in that place - makes you feel sad .Anti - depressants didn’t work for me either - made me worse - so Im "doing it clean " !!! I referred myself to mental health services - felt so rubbish doing it -6 months wait for any support !!! I have now paid for private CBT counsellor - the resources are very limited .Do you have a cancer charity nearby who offer counseling / support may be a better bet than mental health services !!! Feel free to join us on the thread Rubycat mentioned -it helps to know you are not the only one struggling .Jillxxx

Evening lovelies. Just back from visiting Outlaws in Cornwall. Lovely day but no snow for us, just very strong winds. Very glad I wasn’t the driver. Helena can you see your lovely new bit of garden with all that snow?!
Zoe, I’m sorry you’re feeling not so glowee in yourself. You can’t go wrong following Ruby’s advice and Jill’s - the need a hug thread is good, especially to know you’re not alone and for handyhints. Do seek out any and all counselling you can find. A space to vent is worth a lot. I’ve found my anxiety has reduced hugely in the last few weeks. However, it doesn’t take much to send me back there. That said supper with friends last night, with much laughter (and possibly gin!) have my spirits a huge lift, only sorry your head got in the way of similar Lesley.
Ruby, your himself needs some art appreciation sessions! Your thumb needs a talking to as well.
To all of you keep warm and take care xx

I love you lot!!! Thank you ??xxxxxxxxx

Helena, we’re waiting for a snow update! How is it your way today?

My son just sent a photo from the Netherlands, they weren’t expecting much snow because they’re ŕight on the coast, but they obviously have a load, and they’ve closed the university because the buses have all been cancelled.

Snow is lovely when you can stay at home and enjoy it!

Afternoon fluffies. It’s absolutely freezing here :snowflake: So I’ve stayed in a started the Christmas wrapping who knew it could be so tiring ? So now I’m having a rest and a cuppa and catching up with you all hope everyone is having a good day and is keeping warm love and hugs xxxx

Weather was absolutely foul here today, I spent the day at work walking & driving through gales, sleety rain & snow …sooo cold, at least you had proper snow, Helena!
Sorry to hear how you’re feeling, Zoe, do hope you feel better soon & sending hugs
Love to all you fluffies
