Funny the way it clings on round the edges.
I think I might buy some. Iād been planning to ring the hairdresser when Iām ready but I think Iād rather do it at home without an audience.
Mine hair is so short Iām now thinking my husbands scalped me!!! My head feels like the moon with craters, lumps and bumps everywhere. Back of my head is black hair front of my head grey hair, it is so cold out. I look awful and feel awful. Iām waiting for hats to turn up & ones arrived itās too big, anotherās been delivered god knows where and two havenāt arrived yet!!!
Looking at this photo I think I look like my great grandad!!!
I cannot believe how tired I am on round 2 end of week 1. I really donāt want to do anything, and I know Iāve got to but have no motivation at all. NONE! I watched the Holiday today that was nice. Canāt read havenāt got the attention span, I do like the idea of jigsaw puzzle actually, whoever said that thank you great idea. Iāve got some adult Lego too that I was bought for my chemo journey I could start that. Have done quite a bit of Christmas shopping online too. TV wise canāt find anything really, just finished Slow Horses, but can recommend Yellowstone to anyone if you havenāt seen it. I may watch again it was so good.
I am going to start kicking my arse and get walking the dog and doing something outdoors I need to do some physical rush of something to boost my endorphins!!! But generally I do feel a bit like a slob, an exhausted, tired slob thatās been scalped!
Lack of energy is so hard to combat! Itās such a struggle. I go to sleep every night saying Iām going to do more tomorrow but then I wake up zombiefied
@nicnac17 when I asked my oncologist about the side effects moving forward she said the fatigue gets worse so sounds very normal. Donāt beat yourself up do what you can and know you are fighting this so your body will be tired. Sending hugs
Thats sad to hear @Zainab sending a hug. What chemo are you on. Id been lead to believe to expect this bearer the end of chemo.
Im always ringing mine, they are fab
Ive probably lost 50% now. Seeing a hairdresser for advice this week. Round 3, last EC a week tomorrow and im anticipating more loss. Then 3x Dox. Dont know if i should just get it tidied or cropped. I want to carry on with cold cap either way.
I am on weekly Paclitaxel and three weekly carboplatin. I have had to pause due to issues with my liver. Hoping to restart after 2 weeks break. All depends on LF which went to over 400 and should be no more than 40. See oncologist on Thursday.
Bought some of these, arrived next day. They are nice and easy to use
Oh my gosh you look fab, your hair is doing so well it will be interesting to see what your hairdresser says.
Anyone suffering with a sore itchy scalp, Ive been using Eucerin scalp treatment balm. It has helped alot. X
Are you still cold capping?
My mate has suggested putting miso paste on food instead of salt. It has lots of health benefits (immune system, bc etc). Sheās a vegetarian. I may get some.
Yeah my oncologist suggested continuing as she thought I havenāt lost much! Which baffled me Iāve only got one EC left and then Iām moving to paclitaxel and apparently I might start to get regrowth on that, so the bald patches may start to get cover in a few weeks. Thatās the hope anyway!
That sounds like a good idea. Anything made from soya is reputed to be good for preventing breast cancer.
An eco fanatic friend brought me a packet of dried apricot kernels that she was convinced would cure cancer. I looked them up after sheād gone and theyāre banned in most countries because they turned into cyanide in your stomach. I junked them.
@nicnac17 Thanks, that was last night when we went out. The length is hiding the extent of the damage tbh. Its so hard to know what to do. Cutting it may expose it more but it may be more comfortable and easier to deal with and the regrowth wonāt have so far to go to match it and begin to re style if you know what i mean. I change my mind daily so it will be interesting to see what the hairdresser thinks. My scalp is tender and sleeping on it uncomfortable even with silk pillow/ cap. With the picc line im sleeping on the same side all the time. Grrr fed up of it.
Perhaps we donāt use the Helpline because weāre tough North Easterners. Youāre from Gateshead? Iām from Sunderland.
