Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Saphy hope your special day is bright and sunny. You will be a beautiful bride, hope you get to post a photo. The good luck fairies have promised to be there for you, hopefully they will sing in tune.
scaco what a todo when you were so close to home. Its a man thing you know if they’re technology minded they cant read a map and if they can read a map they cant do mechanics. you know single cell can only do so much at once lol.
Ninja so glad your back in the woods with us and CM do we curtesy when we next meet? (only kidding)
I’m just drinking my horlicks then an early night have one or two in the JM I’ll catch up later.

Peachez, I’m doing it too this Saturday but I’m not asking people for sponsorship as everyone has already been extremely generous when sprog got her hair cut off. Hers is growing nicely, mine is trying very hard to emulate it, despite the fact that I still have one more to go.

Saphy, I’m sure you’ll look a lot better than I will on Saturday. I don’t intend doing ANY running (never have done before BC, don’t see why I should start now) but I expect I’ll still be panting a bit even with just walking it, as I seem to get breathless fairly easily nowadays.

Thank you Peachez, I already have three boxes of tissues and three pots of Vaseline placed strategically round the house but more is always very welcome. I just love the red shiny nose look.

Altogether now:

“Alto the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose…”

CM, when are doing the shoot for the cover of Vogue?!

Jane xxx

Sod Vogue, I’m the centre spread in Playboy next month!

Hats off to you CM for doing it I can barely walk across the playing field now, which I have to do to pick my daughter up from the school bus. I arrive panting and puffing like I have walked 10 miles instead of just over the lenght of the football pitch. The other mums just laugh at me and make room for me on the bench at the bus stop! Am even finding it hard to ride my horse in the school for any longer than about 20 mins, I have ridden for years and years and was hoping it would help to keep my fitness levels up a little but no such luck. I emerge for the riding school like some sweating, puffing, panting red faced mad person barely able to talk while my horse walks in as cool as a cucumber looking highly embarrassed of his rider! Still every little bit I do must help mustn’t it?
Today is tax and Herceptin day, it’s going to be a long one. They are coming to my house to do both treatments so at least there shouldn’t be too much hanging around has anybody else started on Herceptin yet?

Jo, I’m seeing my Oncy on Thursday and I’ll find out when my Herceptin starts then. He said I’d change over after 3, 4 or 5 ECs but after how bad I was after EC 3 I wonder if I’ll change sooner rather than later. Being told last time that I’m having 8 cycles instead of 6 was bad enough. Not sure I can face another ECking.

Morning fellow woodlanders,

A happy day today as am celebrating my gorgeous daughter Sinead 21st birthday & am currently sat drinking pink bubbly & looking forward to going out for lunch & maybe a little retail therapy with her before our holiday on Saturday

Hope everyone else is well.

Sarah , Hope you and your daughter have a lovely day, many happy returns to her on her 21st!

Jo, do mention your breathlessness to your onc. It could be that the chemo has hit your red blood cells a bit, and it can also have an effect on heart function. If you’re normally fit and able to do stuff but have found you can do a lot less, it could be yet another SE.

Happy birthday to BabyBev, I’m sure you’ll have a blast. Don’t overindulge on the pink stuff, you know what your flipflops do to you when you do!

Ooops, double-posted.

Morning,

Happy Birthday to Sinead, wishing you a fantastic day today. How bl**dy fabulous to be sat drinking fizz at this hour - totally jealous as I sit sipping my protein smoothie.
I’ll chink my glass to you later on in the JM.
Bev x

Donna, amazing how well you are feeling so soon after op. Really pleased but don’t do too much and make use of all those plumped cushions.

Saphy, I’m crying already. Sob, sob. I wish you a very happy day.

Happy birthday to Sinead. Pink bubbly the real thing I hope and not pink lemonade.

I’m making the most of the one day this week without visit to hospital, so will be visiting the Merkin Gallery and doing a bit of touching up. Ooer missis.

Happy birthday to Sinéad!
< hope you’re impressed by the accented e>

And a holiday to come? Fab.

Hi all question … my good arm inside elbow feels tender my veins which normally stand proud on my hand have disappeared is this fec2 now destroying or is it sorrow for the treatment and will recover before fec3 on the 28th. Do i phone chemo ward (haven’t had to phone at all yet cos of the brilliant advice here)or wait and see. Confused!

Hi Whoops

Have you had chemo in this arm?

I’ve had chemo in both, the first in my right which reacted quite badly with cording and phlebitis, so the next 3 in left, which was fine but couldn’t get 4th in, so last 2 back in right. It’s weird as I’ve had same amount in both but right arm definitely not happy.

It’s getting better now as these SEs do fade with time but if you’re worried call the unit - ghats what they’re there for, they won’t mind and you will be given advice and peace of mind.

X

Hi All,

Sinead says many thanks for all your kind birthday wishes, we have had a lovely day & are heading out later for a chinese

Thank you everyone,

much love

Sarah.xxx

LMW that happened to me after fec 2. As you know I now have a line in but having to put heat on arm, above elbow for 20 minutes 3 times a day. I can really feel it tightening so sitting here with wheat pad on more often than that. Last thing I need is line going wonky. The heat helps to keep the vein open according to nurse. Soothes it anyway.

Well 1st Tax and 1st Herceptin done and dusted, feel very slightly nauseous but nothing like the nausea I have been having with AC. I have a very slightly bruised hand but nothing serious as far as I can tell. What a relief to get that one done.
Happy Birthday to Sinead, hope you have a lovely time at the Chinese.

Bev, don’t metion Crispy Duck! wouldn’t want to upset Wandy! Happy Bday to your girl. Hopefully will be my OHs 3rd grandchilds b’day as well - if only the little thing would get a move on and be born, think they’re trying to tempt him/her out with a bit of cheese at the moment… do we have a midwife fairy? guess we could get NE to creep up behind Mum and scare her, that should get things going…

A vein of mine, last Fec’d back in Feb, has decided to start stinging, not sure if it’s trying to get better, or turning into a fossil… they kept getting poison into me when I thought it would be impossible, never got to have a line in.

JoC, that does sound a bit extreme, like CM says - phone in.
Saphy, best wishes for your big day xxx

Oh boy, will I be glad when exam season is over… teenager doing A levels is driving me potty…at least the dog is well behaved tonight, she’s decided the box from Amazon makes a really good bed and she’s been in it all evening - or did some glue leak out and she’s stuck… better go check…

Heart was checked last week but red blood cells have dropped a bit, I did mention it to the onc yesterday but he didn’t seem concerned so I guess all is ok.
Peachez sending the midwife fairy on her way to help out mum. My friend has just had ( on Monday) a 10lb 6 baby girl! Ouch is all I can say to that one!
