Well. I was a midwife but not sure about the fairy bit! Delivered two of my 3 grandchildren and quite a few of the neighbours lol.
JO C — I’ve been pretty breathless on Tax but after first episode had heart and lungs checked out and everything OK, so just resting now when it happens.
Saphy – Have a lovely day!!!X X X
Donna— so glad you are doing so well - look after yourself.
I still have bit of a foul taste with certain food and drink but it is improving. Have had the wee blue tattoos and start radio on 28th for 18 treatments so won’t be long now. Hair still growling slowly . except the whiskers which are growing fast.
Pour me something with a really strong taste and I’ll head down to JM. Any gremlins needing zapped?
Margaret

Hi silvershar
Not been on this thread for a while but i thought i’d just say good morning seeing as we both seem to have missed the sleep fairy.

Morning, well nearly afternoon campers,
Struggling a little today with nausea, thought I’d got on top of it second time around, I’ll keep munching the ginger biscuits, slowly.
It’s a lovely day out today so I’m could do with the getupandgo fairy - my tomatoes and cucumbers need watering, so if anyone sees her, please send in my direction and i’ll continue to wrestle with the pukepixie in the meantime.
Have a lovely day
Bev x
Oh where are you Bev? It is chucking it down with rain here in Essex today but at least it means I don’t have to water the plants today. Getupango fairy on her way to you! X
Thanks JoC
Hope getupandgo fairy gives me another good smack today, still in PJ’s. Legs not connected to brain…
I’m up in Preston, Lancashire and know it is going to bucket it down all day tomorrow so really need to get out in the garden/greenhouse today… Got some lovely dwarf french beans to plant with some spare for the woodland plot - not come across it yet though.
Cheers bev x
Duplicate post - BCC server twitchy again ![]()
Hi Campers! I’ve been out in the sunshine clearing for a while and have returned to do some cushion-plumping for those who need it.
I have PB on standby in a cute waiter’s uniform and NE is standing in a corner with a dunce’s cap on - he was caught watering the flowers again and he didn’t have a watering can. Yuk.
I’ll swap some get-up-and-go for neutrophils - need loads for next week, please.
Been to see my nice Oncy. He greeted me at the hospital with “Welcome Home” after last week - cheeky b*gger ;o)
Ninja - I’ll happily swap neutrophils for getupandgo with you, but to be fair, getupandgo fairy did arrive earlier, gave me sharp slap around the gils and I made it outside to plant french beans, totally wiped me out, so gonna take advantage of those lovely plumped cushions for a while now.
If anyone is off to the JM, please could you get some carry outs, may need a nightcap later if sleep fairy misses my tent later on.

Hello every one.
I am standing outside the dark, dark woods and I start my journey on the 27th of June. I have invasive lobular carcinoma with 5 positive nodes out of 5 removed. Clear bone scan but still waiting for CT scan results and having MUGA scan on Tuesday of next week. I have pre assessment for chemo next Thursday then start to walk into the woods on Monday 27th June.
I am starting to gather together what I might need. A torch sounds like a must. Probably some kind of alcohol to share, maybe some foods? I am bringing reiki skills with me if anyone needs that along the way. Some of the fairies sound a bit unreliable. Positive thinking seems to be the first to run off when needed the most? So I have dug out my cloak of invisibility and whistled for my most trusted companion for this journey. It is a black dog called buggerit - he is quite good at chasing off things that come out of the dark.
Any further requests from people who are already in the woods? I will do my best to bring with me!
Oh…one last thing - does anyone have a map?
Supertrouper,
Welcome, you sound like you have just the right approach. We have lots of supplies for you including your own flamethrower, ropes to pull you out of swamps, buckets to hide your head in and all the other kit you might need. Find your way to the JM (Jingling Merkin hostelry) where all the drinks are free and there is a large selection of splendid bar people…whoever you fancy really!! there are relaxation yurts a spa, a patisserie/bakery tent, a lagoon and loads of supportive people to help you through!!
You won’t need a map, cos there are torches to light the way if its really dark and others to point the way to whatever you might need at any time. There are lots of us in here, just step in and you’ll see our torches twinkling.
Goodluck in your journey and we’ll meet you at the JM for a welcome drink!
Wandyx
Hi supertrouper and welcome! Your Reiki massage skils will definately be a welcome addition to the spa tent, and I love the idea of your big black dog joining the campers!
Mine is a large baileys please tonight. DH bought me real bottle but sore Tongue and indigestion mean it’s not a good idea, so looking forward to one in the JM instead!
Apologies for random capital letters - iPod has a mind of it’s own!
Supertrooper
Welcome to the woods.
Pitch your tent and get settled in. The JM is open 24/7 for those of us who miss the sleep fairy visits.
I am just a little way ahead of you on the path, I start on Wed 22nd. I’ll shine my torch to keep you on the right track.
Good Luck with the journey.
Love and (((HUGS)))
June
Thanks for the nice welcome - I have decided to drag along a couple of kegs of Strawberry fruli its a 7% proof white beer mixed with strawberry juice so contributes to the five a day plan.
I have spotted a nice pitch for my tent. It’s next to a small stream and group of trees. Don’t need the sleep fairy yet but nice to know that there are places that are open 24/7.
In a very strange way I am looking forward to starting the journey if only because the end becomes closer? The nasty nasty waity waity bit is nearly over and I can then grab the sword and begin to do battle!!
BRING IT ON
Hi Supertrouper and welcome to our little woodland community.
Buggerit sounds like a very welcome addition to our menagerie - you’ll have to train him not to chase the feral eyebrows that have all done a runner from our faces but he’ll be very useful in rounding up all the stray red and white neutrowotsits.
As the others have said, you won’t need a map - just follow the noises of carousing to the JM then the torches will help you get back to your tent. Some of us have already passed through the surgery and chemo swamps and are now glowing nicely from being nuked, so when you’re ready to enter rads rushes just follow the greenish rays.
If you look really hard you’ll spot a couple of hairy lovelies gambolling in the fields beyond the woods - yes, it really does sprout again, and pretty quickly too!
Good luck with everything that lies ahead - there’s a spare lounger by the lagoon with your name on it.

Welcome ST. Now, where is that beeping sleep fairy?!
Morning glampers,
Welcome Supertrouper, glad you found us as I’m definately in need of some of your reiki massage skills this morning - the piguglyhairyobese troll found his way into my tent last night (I did ask for Kiefer Sutherland???) and he trampled on my neck and shoulders (way too excessivley I might add), probably because I was clutching to the sleep fairy too tightly (so sorry Ninja).
Looking forward to letting buggerit drag me around the woods for a while whilst the getupandgo fairy eludes me once again.

Good morning everyone, sorry about the noise last night. Took me ages to get the tent set up. Its been a while since I did camping.
I have set up camp a little earlier than needed so that I can make sure that all the supplies I might need are safely stored inside the tent. I will join you all on the 27th but until then please feel free to pop into my tent and help yourself to any of the following.
Strawberry Fruli - lovely 7% white beer and strawberry juice drink - if you have a sore mouth and can’t sleep this will help.
Reiki healing - I am filling the tent with reiki healing. Just step inside and breath deeply - let the golden light fill you from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes. Distant healing sessions available by request (all free)
Buggerit the dog is going to keep guard over my camp, he has strict instructions on who and what can come inside. No negative imps, fairies or goblins allowed only positive encouraging empowering relaxing healing stuff - plus any of you guys of course.
Inside the tent you will find relaxing music, subdued lighting and the most comfortable beds. There is also a cold box stocked with flavoured waters and fresh fruit. I would have installed a hot tub but I got told there are hot springs close by to the camp site? Is that true?
Anyway, sorry to leave you for the day but I am going wig shopping today and then lunch with “the ladies who lunch” - then down to Dorset for the weekend to see my brother. Will pop by my tent before I leave this afternoon to see if there are any requests and will then come back to check supplies on Monday.
Can someone make sure that Buggerit gets a regular walk and doesn’t drink all the strawberry fruli?
Trust me - that drink will make a fantastic substitute for the sleepfairy.
Welcome Supertrouper, sorry you’ve had to join us but a very warm welcome nonetheless. I like the sound of the well stocked tent and the Reiki healing powers.
Hope you enjoy your weekend away!
I am still waiting for the Tax truck to hit, but so far so good just a bit of an odd taste in my mouth so far but way better than AC at the moment.
Morning all.
Jo, likewise…got the funny taste in the mouth, and today the aches are starting up.
Anyone for a nice ginger thin biscuit to go with their novelty drinks??
