Congrats Mr and Mrs Saphhy thought about you both and the rain!!
I’ve managed to stay out of the NHS travelodge and I’m sorry your in it Gypsylady. Hope you escape soon. I graded my hair down to 0.5 and it is now growing it is quite prickly. I’m surprised as apart from 2 bald patches the size of 10p pieces (I cant see them top and back)I haven’t gone completely. LG has departed and legs and arms sparse, eyebrows thinning, eyelashes never had them much anyway. I’ll probably loose the lot now that its regrowing will be chasing them hares through the woods soon. Could do with a treat but don’t know what I want, see what a wedding has done. I need something to look forward to perhaps a trip to the casino and a meal out, maybe persuade other half. Will let you know later.Off to plump pillows and change sheets someones left cat prints on my sheets. Everyone welcome in my tent but please use the footmat first.lol. xx
Is GypsyLady in Stalagluft? Oh dear, shall we start a tunneling party?
After watching DD do the Leeds Run for All 10K yesterday, OH has signed up to do the York one for The Haven. He’s started training already. We used to do quite a bit of off-road/trail/fell running and I’m very envious. Struggling to find the energy to walk, today, I’d love to go for a run.
June, snap from me too - I had cellulitis after my first chemo. I’ve never felt so ill, and it was so painful as well - I sympathise absolutely. I think I was taking 17 anti-bs a day for a week.
We’ll get going on the tunnel asap to get you out of there.
Peachez, I’m on no. 1 court this year - was on Centre last year but I don’t like Centre with the new roof. If you’re any more than half way up the stand you don’t see the sky all day and it’s like being in a cave - all dark and cold. I much prefer no.1.
Can anyone see a mucky pigeon in one of the woodland trees? One fell down our chimney a few days ago and today it finally came low enough for me to be able to reach up the chimney and pull it out. Feathers and soot everywhere but it flew away happily so no need to phone the woodland vet. Last time it happened it was a crow so there’ll be a mucky crow up in the trees somewhere as well, but at least its feathers won’t show the dirt.
Does my chimney have a big sign on it saying “come on birds, dive in here - it’s sooooo much fun!” ???

The commandant caught up with me at the pass and has put me in the chiller til tomorrow . I am down for further investigation and maybe some blood letting. I’ve borrowed a serving spoon and am digging from under the kitchen stove. Hope we can meet in the middle.
It does mean that they are withholding chemo privileges for a week so a delayed start for me.
Love June
June - keep digging. Can you see us yet?
I’ve smuggled a blanket and soft cushions into the cooler for you. Is Steve McQueen in there?
Jane- Sounds like you had a lovely night. You’ll be back to normal soon- if there is such a thing?
June- Sorry about your incarceration- hope you’ll get out soon- though you might need something bigger than a tablespoon.
Shar – good luck with last Tax !!!3 weeks since mine and apart from becoming tired am getting back to me.Rads start a week tomorrow.
See you all at Jm
Love, Margaret x x x
Ninja, why on EARTH would you want to RUN? Silly idea, I reckon. I took a gentle 5k stroll round the local park on Saturday for Race for Life and did it in 50 mins (including a detour to the portaloos half way round). I say “gentle stroll” but I actually mean forced march for most of it as OH’s border collie (she’s a girlie so she was allowed) had to be on a lead the whole way round, and she was pulling quite a bit. Apologies to any nervous cats lurking, I’m sure they must have been made even more nervous with all the barking said dog did, for the WHOLE 5k.
Never did get into tennis. Reckon it got spoilt when I was a teen. WHY does every tennis court always have at least one pile of nettles somewhere beside it? And WHY did the ball I’d missed and had to retrieve always end up in that flipping nettle patch? Definitely put me off tennis.
Running and the joy of being alive…
When I was doing it (when the fibro was in remission for a year) it really helped with general fitness - I was flying round when I was mountain walking - and it took a few inches off my middle.
Not been well enough to run (other than for a bus) since fibro took a downturn 2 years ago. Fibro used to give me good days/bad days, then weeks, months, now it’s years. I used to like to get up mountains several times a month - it’s been just once a year for the past two years that I’ve felt well enough to get up high. Once a year to partake in one’s main sport. Shitty diseases…then the Crohn’s started. You’ve not lived if you haven’t had to a have a crap on top of a mountain with sheeps watching you.
Now BC.
Help ma Boab!
I think I need chocolate.
Ok, I getcha. Give me a pool to swim in. I’m rubbish at it and come last in any competitions I do, but it’s such a supportive group of nutcases that do swimming things, I love it. So you can have your hills, I’ll take the wet stuff. (I didn’t learn to swim with any degree of confidence until I was well into my 30s, so it’s a bit like being a born-again evangelist.)
Think I need a trip down to the lagoon. Might come in handy to wash off the paint I’ve covered myself in since I decided that as I had a blokey in to put down a pine floor in my tent I should paint the inside walls at the same time, seeing as I’d cleared out my tent and it was unlikely it’d ever be as easy to paint as today. But I always end up wearing more paint than the walls do when I’m playing at DIY and today was no different. Why is that? Someone suggested it’s because I’m dead mucky, and I have to say she wasn’t wrong.
Oh, nearly forgot, I’ve been a meejah star again today! Remember the radio fing I was doing? Well it was on again today.
If you’re interested, here’s a link to the listen again thing. Someone dared to call me “inspirational”, and I have to say I was straight back in the woods with porcupine spines bristling at that particular comment! I even managed to get in a mention for the BCC website and the squirrel-murdering cat towards the end of the show. It was fun, hope you enjoy it.

Ok very fed up. Just broken my tooth aaarrrgggghhhh! Called dentist but they have gone home for the day, am also worried as they don’t like treating people on chemo, has anyone had any experience of this please?
They have to be a bit careful but they’ll be able to sort it out for you, Jo
Hiya and thank you so much for all your lovely wishes, it was a lovely day and the rain held off for us. I’ll change my avatar to one of the wedding for you.
Would you believe that after a lovely weekend we are now back at work, we decided to delay having a holiday until after my radiotherapy and the kids go back to school. I am nagging him though to have a couple of days extra this weekend and just chill out and maybe have a few days out and about.
What a bummer that so many are feeling poorly at the moment, I am sending loads of feelgoodfairies and their helpers along to give you massages and generally try to make you feel better.
I’m also sending big ((((Hugs)))) to you all.
Jo
I broke a big filling during first fec and dentist spoke to chemo unit to confirm that he wouldn’t do anything invasive till my bc treatment finished. He gave me a temporary filling which has survived (so far) since beginning of march.
best wishes
x
Wonderful thank you S2S and Amber, what a complete pain but nice to know they can sort it.
Saphy I am looking forward to seeing the photo.x
Come on then, 'fess up, who’s nicked 'em while I was busy contemplating the inside of my bucket?
Some so-and-so has either stolen my neuts or left the gate open so they’ve made a break for the burrows with the eyebrows. Had result of blood test from this morning and they’re down to 0.88, so no final FECcing for me tomorrow unless I can find a pointy stick and get a few to come back. Got to have another blood test in the morning in the hope some of them have sneaked back overnight, but if not then my last poisons will be delayed. AND they’re going to stab me with skelligrow and I’ve managed to avoid the skelligrow sprite for all the previous FECs.
If anyone sees a headless chicken running round the clearing please don’t shoot it, it’ll probably be me. Chicken is right, I really don’t fancy having to stab myself, I’ve developed a strange aversion to anything sharp and pointy - can’t imagine where that’s come from!
Now where did I see NE? I feel a desperate need to throw something and might as well have a target. Going home now to have a sulk.

Run away from the skelligrow, it bloody hurts when mixed with tax in my experience. Interesting though as my neuts were down to 0.82 last time and my poisoning didn’t get stopped.
When you find NE can you give him a slap from me too, I haven’t got the energy to chase after him and anyway I’m too busy rolling on the floor in pain from the evil skelligrow.
Really sorry you’ve been delayed CM I’d send you some of mine but I don’t seem to have any either. Fingers fully crossed that yours sort themselves out overnight.
Jo, I broke a tooth while on FEC as well and have had a temp filling in ever since as they won’t do anything invasive while you’re on chemo and mine didn’t want to do it while I was on rads as well. It’s now been in for about four months and is fine so far.
CM - poo and b*gg**. Stamp your feet and throw things if it makes you feel better.
I had a lovely day out of the woods at Wimbledon yesterday - great seats on No. 1 court, at one end right in the middle so we had a great view and saw some wonderful tennis. Didn’t think about BC all day!!
Back into Rads Rushes today - that’s my 15 general nukings all done (lovely sunburn developing) - just four boosters to go now.
My hair is sprouting rapidly, my LG is re-emerging and I even (say it very quietly or you’ll scare them away again) have the beginnings of eyebrows!!!
Almost time to retire the merkin!

It has come to my attention that BC patients need a really good layby for all the waits and interruptions. Now I know some of you just head straight for the JM, but sometimes you need a place to sit with a cup of tea while the juggernauts of surgery, chemo and rads thunder by without you.
So let’s have some ideal laybys. I thought of siting one by The Lagoon and another could be outside the JM, handy for a quick one, but perhaps there’s a perfect spot in the Cotswolds, Dales or Lakes. The Layby has a ladies’ of course, spotlessly clean, no queues, and luxuriously appointed with dispensers full of nice-smelling lotions. Perhaps a sparkling little coffee shop for refilling the flasks and stocking up on cakes? And a picnic area which is spotless, wasp free and offers views of beautiful scenery. Dogs are welcome, but their poo disappears instantly.
A good start?
