Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

I’ve got a whole lot of paperwork to make a bonfire of. Anyone feeling lively enough can dance round it while the Twisted Nipple perform.

Does anyone know some appropriate midsummer healing rituals?

Cheryl

“Does anyone know some appropriate midsummer healing rituals?”

Leaping naked over the bonfire springs to mind, although that is really a fertility rite - though some on here might appreciate that a little later down the line.

More likely to need healing rituals than to dance on tables at the moment but then I guess if the results are good I may well be dancing on tables tonight xx

I think a synchronised tabledancing team is in order, rather than leaving it to just one camper. Twisted Nipple’s quietest number? By title “Oh, so quiet” (remember Bjork’s version?) but ours, as the band name suggests, comes with a twist, and not much of the “quiet” bit. But with luck SCACO will be on so many happy pills she won’t mind too much.

SCACO will be so glad to see all the decorations we’ve put up for her! CM, you can use my merkin - it’s a lovely peacock blue and is decorated with silver sparkles and morris bells.

I don’t need it any more - my LG is sprouting!!!

I now have a fuzzy head (thin and fine, but getting longer almost as you watch), the beginnings of a lady garden and…(drum roll)… eyebrows!!! It’s too early to say if I’ve managed to get my own eybrows back yet or if the ones I found lurking on my face are someone else’s - sorry if they are, I’ll chastise them gently and put them back in the corral for their true owner.

Unfortunately I also had to shave my legs yesterday, but I suppose beggars can’t be choosers when it comes to hair.

Getting to the end of rads now - 15 general ones and one boost done and off soon for the second of my four boosts. Just Monday and Tuesday to go then I’ll be well and truly cooked! Mind you, I feel cooked already with the Tamoxifen heatwaves; got some nice Chinese fans now though and I’m sure I look very elegant wafting myself gently as I punt my way through the Rads Rushes.

MG, everything crossed that we see you dancing the can-can on the tables in the JM tonight.

Hi woodies. I have been cavorting in the sunshine at the edge of the woods a little too much maybe. Just been to the docs with horrendous rash and it’s shingles. Been ordered back to my tent with anti virals.
I think decorating the woods for SCACO is a lovely idea. I’m seeing trees festooned with empty lager cans and bottles to catch the twinkle of the fairy lights.
MG we will all dance with you !!

Janipi, you need some R&R at the lagoon–it’s a well-known cure for almost anything, and all those nice bartenders to bring cooling drinks. There is a space-time thingy which gives you instant access to the JM kand the woods around it.

How much treatment do you have left?

Cheryl

Oh dear Janapi, don’t envy your shingles. Come and rest on a cushion I just plumped for you.

Afternoon all, drinks are on me, I’m off to the JM early doors…

Surgeon says “Congratulations, excellent news, you have degenerative disc problems.” Only a bc surgeon could make that sound like good news! Never thought I’d be so pleased to know my back is a wreck (there were another couple of conditions too to T4 and T5, whatever they are…) He was beaming and shaking hands, says prognosis excellent, doesn’t need to see me for six months. Phew… I guess I’m pleased it was checked out and eliminated but scary couple of weeks (oh and he did a celebratory drain of my original cyst, "here, let me stick a needle in it for you…) because it was sore but also to prove to me that it is only a cyst. He is a very nice man. Cyst is throbbing like heck at the moment but I think that will help longer term too.)

Plus for all those who knock the NHS, with the assistance of my lovely BCN chasing people, I had MRI done in three days and results back within a week from MRI. Couldn’t be happier and I know, because I asked the questions, that they couldn’t have done it any faster if I’d gone private.

So, drinks are on me… xx

Cheers folks.
I finished RT 2 weeks ago but doc says this is quite common as the immune system is still suppressed from treatment. I don’t feel ill yet but rash is sore. I didn’t notice I had a temperature, just put heat down to tamoxifen and chemopause. Hopefully these antivirals will help my body attack it! I can’t cuddle my baby grandson in case I give him chickenpox. Just goes to show it is better to ask if you are not sure. I thought I would just get a tube of cream or something. I have just read the leaflet and side effects may include vomiting, loose bowels, tiredness and hair loss. Been there, done that thankyou!
Ninja I’m heading for the cushions. The woods are looking good with all the decorating. I never knew there was such a range of merkins. Sorry my donation of one was a bit on the sensible side. I’ve always been a fan of substantial underwear. O H would be traumatised if I started flashing a quirky merky.

MG just seen your post. So pleased your bad news is so good!!! Party time in JM later to celebrate. x

Janipi, thanks, shingles ouch! Hope you’re better soon xx

MG: good news and mixed blessings I suppose. Bad back = not good but could be worse in the circs!

T4 and T5 are the vertebrae underneath your bra strap, if that helps. My vertebrae are damaged from C1 (base of spine) to T5, that’s how I know just where it is

Hey MG so glad 4 u!!! Isn’t it great to know that you actually have a bad back!!! isn’t it GREAT!!! A Dodgy back!!! 'only degenerative disc/s… Hooray!!! XXXX feelin too rough to imbibe at the JM myself but I’m sure there will be a few glad to have one for me xxxxx Jeanettexx P.S keep an eye on the back though, look after your selfxxx
xxxx

Have had a bad back for years, not worried about that. Just freaked me out by showing up on bone scan so that I was called back “urgently” for more scans. I guess post bc they have to be careful. Anyway other than tamoxifen that’s me done. Can ignore back or get physio/osteopath as long as it’s not mets xx

MG that’s excellent news I’ll have a drink with you, mines Pimms please!

Just a virtual Pimms for me please, but lots of strawberries in it, and none of the namby-pamby pub measures either, I like to TASTE the Pimms!

Now to google the three-word condition you mentioned, eh?

Pimms it is then. Actually Ninja I think i am making it up, it is all a bit of a blur. It is definitely lower back, would that be L4 and 5 then? xx

Oh yes lots of strawberries would be lovely, I have some strawberries and raspberries in the fridge shall I bring them to the JM? I also have a lovely fresh pineapple if anyone would like some.

Just googled back problem. Sounds exactly what happens and reckons it gets better as you get older - which also seems to be the case.

It flared up before ES was born so 15+ years ago (my own doing based on doing silly sporting things) Most common in 30/40 year olds. Not degenerative - a misnomer - but spasms of lower back pain from some twisted disc type injury ranging from chronic, severe to mild or none and the protein which causes the inflammation gradually burns out so it will go eventually.Happy to live with that one. Will maybe get osteopath to have another look now that I know it is nothing sinister.

Chopping more fruit for the PIMMS xxx
