Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Welcome back SCACO, glad you liked the twinkling merkins!
I can only echo Cheryl and say best wishes for a speedy flame-thrower return.

I put on my Product Design head and made SCaCO a special carbon fibre light weight flamethrower. It’s in your tent for when you get out of Stalagluft 10.

Wooo hoooo SCACO’s back, all is well in the woods.
Bit of gossip, I have heard that PB is considering taking singing lessons, earplugs are readily available in the equipment tent.
Sad news though DC has got married.

Welcome back, SCACO. Anyone else decided to stay horizontal today? Far too hot out there to get up any energy and motivation to move, so me and my sofa are bestest buddies today. The clearing’s great, particularly after the massive tidy-up - I would never have believed we could empty so many bottles, but well done to the hardy souls who picked it all up. Hark, I hear the recycling lorry reversing as I type - beep, beep, beep…

I’m glad you’ve got your operation over with, SCACO. I’m sure you will recover quickly. What delights await you after that?

I’ve decided to sort out years of photos - they are currently spread out over lounge carpet. Why did I start this?

Hello all,

I love this thread and have been shyly looking in from just inside the perimiter of the woods, sleeping alfresco under the stars. However, 2 chemos in, it’s probably time to accept that I’m in deeper, get myself a tent and ask if I can share the fairies’ help? Looks like it is a particularly social time with everyone celebrating SCACO’s return. I’ve got lots of bubbly and strawberries with me so we can raise a toast to her - Wimbledon stylee!

I was wondering whether there happens to be a sparkling blue lagoon with a waterfall full of healing properties in the woods? This hot weather is making me very lethargic and sticky and I could really do with a dip…

Glad to hear all is well, SCACO, well done. And for all you campers complaining about hot weather, please know you are all welcome to come visit me in the cold and wet west of Scotland - I read recently about charging people to camp in your garden and thought what a great idea!! No fairy lights but plenty of G&T’s or whatever, and the local tribute band, Flaky Nipple. Not a patch on the original, but we have to make do up here in t’north.

SCACO, yay for you being back amongst us!
Sandytoes, oh yes, there’s one of whatever people fancy in here, as far as I can tell.
I’ll have one of whatever’s going please. Back from wild weekend away with hubby, which is a good tonic to tax-truck-itis.

Sandytoes, the lagoon is another favourite spot, and the beach bar is particularly popular given the bar staff, and your name of course.

Watch out for the gremlins, there are lots of them around, but flamethrowers and nightly patrols do the trick.

Sandytoes, the lagoon now has a waterfall. There is a floating bar out in the middle if you want to swim out or paddle out on one of those inflatables with a drink holder. The perfect cooling breeze is guaranteed!

Fabulous! I am on my way. Can’t wait!!

Scaco – everybody has missed you!!! Hope you feel better soon !Sending all the pamper fairies to spoil you.
Sandytoes-- there are fairies for all of the SE’s of chemo and if you’re already two down you probably need them. Keep your flamethrower handy for the gremlins who try to make you feel bad.I love bubbly and strawberries!
Sheil – I’m quite glad it’s cooler up here! Start radio tomorrow and already had a sweat rash under offending boob !How is your treatment going?
Margaret

Evening All and welcome to Sandytoes - don’t need to be shy, come up to the campfire. Actually let’s leave the camp fire just stoked in the Woods and start another on Lagoon Beach; we shall drink and be merry.

Sandytoes isn’t the only newcomer to the Woods - may I introduce you to Babs, my newest addition. She has replaced my previous boob (I was going to say ‘much loved’ boob but this isn’t strictly true as I went off it once I realised it was trying to kill me). So, Babs it is. We are still getting to know each other but I’m sure once we’ve settled down we will get along just fine.

I’m not too bad considering what’s been happening and have found out today that I will only need 5 or 7 booster rads not weeks and weeks of it ( cos I had mx) so that’s good too.

Cheers “To Babs and any other Babettes out there.” xxx

Are you having rads after your new Babs? I thought that you had to wait a year. I must say, I’m not looking forward to being an odd shape for 12 months, waiting. I’d prefer to get it all out of the way in one go. I already have one ‘winking nipple’ from earlier surgery but I got over the look of it and there is nothing visible when clothed.

There is going to be a barbecue on the beach by the lagoon tonight; there will be veggie kebabs and lots of fresh salad and fruit as well as the traditional meat stuff. I’m up to my ears in marinades ATM. Anyone seen the skewers?

I saw a few skewers sticking out of the backs of assorted gremlins, but not sure I’d want to eat my kebabs off them afterwards.

OMG who gave the skewers to the gremlins to play with?
I blame NE.

I’ll fetch some from home. Un-gremmed ones.

There’s a handy stand of bamboo next to the bar, and some of the barmen have been detailed to start whittling. I’ll do the big fruit salad that uses halves of a giant watermelon for bowls, if you like.

Cheryl

I can have the rads as soon as I can lift my arm up.

I’ve been around the block with questions about my treatment. My choice was chemo first, then mx with immediate recon, then rads. I was the one to bring up rads as I’d read that mx + rads is the best but not always offered, at this stage I’d already asked for a recon but stressed that I was big enough to put it off if necessary. My consultant initially suggested just implant with LD used as back up if rads messed it up. I wasn’t totally happy with this as I was sure that rads would cock it up so seemed pointless; so from here I had a second opinion - he said just LD before rads should be fine. I then went back to original consultant who, without prompting from me, had relooked at it and suggested LD with implant straightaway. She gave us good reasons and so we went with it.

It’s been made larger to compensate for shrinkage and I have the option of removing implant or making other one bigger. It may not work out as we want but I feel completely at ease with it as I’ve been the one calling the shots and making the final decisions based on more than one view.

Phew - far too much info, pass us the bottle. X

Theres nothing as pleasing to the eye as a whittling barman.
Sigh
