Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Re temperature.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I didn’t get back on the site til this morning as i got myself to bed.

It must have done the trick as i am much better today, just a bit heartburn today.

Hope everyone else is still feeling ok.

Love
June

CM I would love to come as I would love to meet all of you but I am being taxed this week so won’t be able to make the journey down. Have a drink for me though

Good to hear you are OK, June

Evening glampers,

CM- would love to come to but you’re too far for me too.

ST - will meet up with you at some point as you’re only 15 mins from me and totaly get the boredom - I’m a big PNE fan for my sins and wnated to go to the funeral procession/burial tradition in ‘brig’ (my birthplace) but due to late night out on Sat, which resulted in friend drunkenly falling, gashing her leg and having to send her to A&E at 2 in the morning, I came home but the other gals stayed with her and they got back at 6 in the morning - oooh stupid drunken antics, glad it wasn’t me for a change, but was still shattered…

June - glad you’re better, my norm temp is 36.5 and have had readings of 34.9 but no shivers (thought it odd but I didn’t do anything either)

Jo C - good luck with TAX this week, I had TAX1 today, so far so good but I always speak too soon…

Hugs to all
Bev X

Hello All
CM good luck with rads tomorrow, hope all goes well. I would love to be able to come to your BBQ but too far for me from Chester. I hope you all have a great time and CM you have a drink for me.
T x

Sleep well fellow campers - I am standing guard tonight with my flame thrower and my trusty dog Buggerit. Not much chance of sleep tonight as I over slept last night and have dozed most of the day away today in the sunshine.

Seems very quite in the woods tonight - hope that is a sign that everyone has tucked themselves into bed early.

Sleep well everyone.

Thanks Beverlie, i am due to be taxed tomorrow so it’s steroid day for me today. I find that the SEs from tax kick in about 3 days later -sorry.
I hope everyone found the sleep fairies last night I know I did, but I guess they will go into hiding again tonight due to the steroids.
CM good luck with the rads today.

Good morrow from the Campsite toilet tent! Second day of Tax Trots and got worse so Imodium taken. GL with Rads, CM.

I stole the Sleep Sprite the last 2 nights - please may I have her again tonight? I promise to give her back on Weds as i’ll be with Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

It seems that some of you get Dex on the day before poisons. I just get it IV. I don;t even get the TTO Dex now that I’m off the horrid EC.

Ermmmm got to dash!!!

Sorry that you are suffering again Ninja.
I was given Dex to take before the first Taxol, then was given the normal prescription for 3 days for the next one (but I decided one of those days should be the day before(?)), then for last week had just intravenous Dex on the day, and tablets for only one day after. TBH I don’t think I need to take them at all.
Hope all radation sessions go well today - my oncologist wants to talk about planning mine on Thursday, if my bloods are behaving and I actually go for treatment, so please help me round up newts today ready for the test tomorrow!

Ninja - think you need to rethink your Username as the current SE of Tax that you are kindly sharing with us is giving your position away! Not much stealth going on! may i suggest a cork?

Babs and i have clearly fallen off the priority list as we are stuck in limbo between Mx Marsh and Rads Rushes. I’m not seeing Onc til 5/8, which is a friday and so i’m guessing that rads won’t start proper until back end of August. We were hoping to go away that week (Plans??? HA HA HA!!)if that’s the case i might ask them to put me back a week.

My arm has gone a tad strange, like a trapped nerve feeling as i don’t feel i have total control of the finer movements. It’s that or it’s developed an ego of its own and is trying to break free from the cumbersome thing that is the rest of me. So - if you see said arm (Adams family stylee) largin’ it up somewhere in the Woods please send back to my tent. x

Hi SCACO , not seen a stray arm wandering in this part of the woods as yet, but will keep a look out and will return it if found
Are you still suffering from the seroma? Might that be putting pressure on a nerve - I had all sorts of strange sensations with my arm when I had a seroma, however that was in the armpit area. I still have some slight numbness along the back of my arm now, six months later.
Just had a letter from my insurance company - they have finally settled the critical illness claim and cancelled the joint policy, so my husband has no life or critical illness cover now. One more thing to sort out. The reason I decided to claim was that the policy was taken out in the 1980’s, and although the payments have risen each year, the benefit payable was fixed, so although in the 80’s it would have paid for a house, today it would just about make a decent deposit - ha so much for my financial planning!

Ninja - I get dex the day before and two days afterwards…
last tax yesterday, and the needle went in first time (instead of 8th time), so that was a relief. BCN had had chat with consultnt, so he was much more understanding and cut the dose down to 80% to try to minimise SE.s… have to see if it makes a difference. I get bunged up rather than trotty… taste buds disappearing as the day goes on… but at least I made it to a team lunch to celebrate birthday/retirement of a friend/colleague, so that was good. You’re offering the sleep fairy back for tomorrow? Great! Doing a little “I’m finished” dance here… as a fellow survivor emailed me “Woo hoo! You’ve done it! Break open the… oh, bottled water and cardboard food” Celebrations WILL come… Jane

No stray arms here either SCACO, unless it’s hiding in my bucket. I’ll stick my head back in and have a look, nope no arms here, there seem to be a few eyebrows though if anyone is missing some.
Project woman our critical illness was a joint policy too, it’s a total pain but not something I thought of when we took out the policy.
GIJaneH well done for finishing the tax, put the bubbly on ice, it will keep until you feel better.

SCACO - sorry armless here too. I’ve found some bits and bobs of grey hair tho’ … poo they are mine. I was sooo hoping the return of hair would see me with some auburn curly locks but nope its not going to happen, usual straight boring grey stuff is replacing the baby owl fuzz. I’ll have to live with it as we’re not allowed to dye for ages are we. I’m getting ahead of myself - total length is probably 3mm currently.

Talking of dye : Rads rushes - the place that puts blue blobs on your soft bras and crop tops and i bet they dont wash out easily. I’m a week into the rushes and doing fine so far even if i dont go far from my sofa once i’ve been beamed everyday. But hey i know a secret tunnel to WOMAD festival and im gonnns use it on Friday after a special early radding. I’m excited (in a cool and hard way obviously).

I’m sure you’ll howl down the phone until someone sees you if your arm appears to deteriorate. I had some distinctly odd sensations while doing the stretching exercises in the month or so afterwards and I still feel as though I have a cuff around my upper arm, a good 8 months after the clearance. (I try not to check too neurotically for signs of lymphoedema.)

But if it doesn’t change or appears to get worse, do phone the BCNs or your GP if you can’t get through. Even if it’s only temporary, you don’t want to risk any serious damage.

GIJane, let us know when taste buds return, so we can have a celebration night at the JM.

PW, the endowment policy we took out when we bought our house, the one that was supposed to pay off the mortgage with a tidy bonus, actually left us with a £17,000 shortfall.

Hope everyone’s managing to get out at least a little while the weather is decent.

Cheryl

Well I’ve searched my tent and the surrounding area and there’s no spare arms lurking here either, sorry SCACO hun.
I’ve now completed my 15 Rads rushes today and my boobie or whats left of it is slightly pink and the Radiotherapist lady was very pleased with me (actually I think I have emptied them out of Aqueous Cream, I’ve shoved so much on me lol). Anyways tomorrow I start my boosters, so now its 8 more times driving up and down the A127.
I’ve had a couple of days where I have been so tired that I have practically fallen asleep at my desk, but so far its do-able, hopefully it will stay that way, but I have been warned by aforesaid Rads lady that you carry on ‘cooking’ for a couple of weeks after you finish and that the worst of the tiredness kicks in around a month after finishing.
Oh deary me I’ll have to take time out from the business lol.
Anyways fellow woodlanders and wonderful ladies, if you would like to join me in the JM later this evening, I shall be offering small buffet and drinkies in celebration of ending the first part.

Buffet and drinkies gratefully accepted Saphy! It has been really warm today and been busy working, though great to be able to do the bits between calls on the patio. Popped out for a quick drink at new local gastropub after work and ended up having photo taken with Marco Pierre White who was visiting to promote the pub! Ok I was in a group shot and never actually spike to him but still - little bit of excitement for the day!

Good evening. Guts now normal. Been clearing cupboards and packing boxes today. Where has all this stuff come from?!!!

Earlyish night tonight; poisons tomorrow again.

No spare arms here. Shall we declare “A Farewell to Arms”?

Another tax - isn’t that ‘Death in the Afternoon’?
Good luck
Hope it doesn’t cause another ‘Torrents of Spring’
Dx

Sleep fairy, sleep fairy where for art thou sleep fairy?
Oh yes I forgot the steroids have scared you off, anyone seen a spare sleep fairy please?
God this chemo lark is tedious and boring.
Right back to playing solitaire until I can sneak up on a sleep fairy and grab her, I think my chances are slim.
