Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

Quail…keep those Daleks away… I’m not far From you then bout 5 miles from Stockport…so keep Daleks to yourself lmao!

Pimms winter is brandy based with orange and spice flavour and you serve it with warm apple juice - yum! X

OOOh yes please , one for me, sounds looooverly, much needed after swimming the Grandson this afternoon, still havent warmed up properly, even with new bobble hat on/off/on/off (Arimidex flushes even though Im cold).

V large one of those please…sounds loverly…I like it here in the woods and in benchland…everyone is nice to each other…have been on another thread regarding a celeb and all the ladies are argueing…nice to sit by the fire in the JM with ladies who are nice and all these exotic drinkies help as well…no daleks for us girls tonight…the wet weather will short circuit them…I’m too young to be exterminated!!!..

nannabarb…obviously the baby on your avatar is a grandchild…well…he/she is beautiful…I love babies…

LOL Applestreet, my thoughts exactly on that ‘other’ thread.
Enjoy your Pimms Winter x

I think it’s all this alcohol that keeps us so lovely. Another Winter Pimms for me, please. I suppose there is lots of anger around. Run free, anger, run free–we’re not afraid of a good group hug in the woods, especially a RevCat driven one!

Ooohh i’ve got a sleep fairy early… happy happy as sooooo tired today… Sleep tight woodies xxx

I feel curiously protected in these woods. In the rads treatment room they have a beautiful overhead picture of an autumn tree, I lie there looking up into its branches and imagine myself in the Woods. Sadly it’s not back lit but still very calming.
Are there any rads woodies about tonight? Can I pick your brains…my arm pit on treatment side has got that awkward, tight elastic band digging in sensation again that I first had after surgery (mx, recon and SNB). I’m assuming it’s a rads thing, and that increased diligence with the exercises will help? And, ummm…well, you know you can’t use deodorants and perfumed products on that side, and what with hot flushes and colder weather and the need for layers I can’t always remove quickly enough, I’m tending to get rather whiffy. Which is awkward when you’re lying there with your arm over your head and some poor radiology nurse with her nose up close shuffling you into position. Are there fragrance free baby wipes I could use, or will that risk upsetting my skin? I suppose I could try to be organised enough to take a damp flannel in a bag for a quick pre treatment refresh…

Ali H - When I was going through Rads I took baby wipes with me to do a quick refresh before getting on the bed. The ceiling had nothing to look at so I closed my eyes and used my imagination to take me to somewhere lovely whilst I got zapped. My arm, pit, and shoulder still complain every day and I think that is down to the radiation which finished at the end of February this year. It’s my check up again on Friday so I will ask all the pertinent questions.
Now…time for a last drink in the JM bar - found the missing GIN in benchland.
Last thought for the night - stay away from the Aligators - they are tetchy beasts.

Ali - I used a baby-lotion (one I got was by Arbonne and fab, but I don’t think it matters) My rads unit (Mount Vernon) said basically any product suitable for a baby was OK. They also sold aloe vera deodorant (stick) which we could used - no smells! Actually, now, a year later, I only need deodorant once a month or so, sweat glands seem to have been zapped, but both sides (which weren’t, so that’s weird). Every-thing free moisturiser my dear…
hope it improved (and yes, exercises!)
NO, repeat NO daleks are allowed in our woods! There are enough scary gremlins without inviting other in! Invisible force keeps them out… and the man in the blue box is the Wrong Sort of Doctor!

off to Neddy…
love Jane

Brilliant ladies, thank you!

Shhhhh. Ladies in Benchland don’t realise we’ve switched to Winter Pimms and aren’t using much gin. Don’t tell 'em, they’ll be pinching the Pimms and apple juice next.
Meanwhile, I am so relieved to hear there are no Daleks in the Woods. ST thank you for aligator duty. Those of us here in the woods know what hard work you do at the flamethrower and appreciate your vigilance and kindness. I say mini-aliburger hors d’ouvres in the JM tonight; they go well with toblerones.
I’m off to Nedland for a spot of work–see you in the JM!

just had a thought…we could have a belated halloween party in the JM at the weekend and invite all the ladies from benchland to cheer up the ones who are not having a v good time…

Jane…the man in the blue box is the wrong sort of doctor…his preperson…you know what I mean…who he was before he is now…oh god…shut up apple…well he was much nicer to look at than who he is now…I hope nobody minds…I’ve told the ladies in benchland they can have some gin…some of them are not having a v good time at the moment and I do like to help…it’s not as if we need it…we’ve got winter pimms…don’t show them that though…I’m not that generous…I felt better for having been in the woods during treatment and I still want to be in here now…even though I have to go to tam towers every day…I come back here to my tent for the night…if any ladies don’t know how to use the flamethrowers…free lessons can be organised for all…we could have the lessons by the lagoon…water will be on hand for first timers…we don’t want to burn down the JM do we???

posts wrong way round…AGAIN!!!

Dearest Apple, if you weren’t making so much sense I’d say you were wittering–“preperson” indeed! But a Benchland/Woodland party is a real stroke of genius. Now that we have the canal, and can either stroll or boat back and forth at leisure, it is the absolute perfect setup. (Not to mention, NOW we’ll see who the woosies are!) Can we wear fancy dress? I think we could even have a LARGE punch bowl of winter pimms (mixed up in advance so as not to give away the location of the bottles) with toblerones for everyone.
And the flame throwing lessons are a good idea, too. Certainly all this talk of Angels and Daleks has everybody a bit trigger happy, and I distinctly felt a singe from Stockport way the other evening on the way back to my nest!
Party plans!!!

Great plan, I have my costume already. With my bald head and black eyes from lack of sleep I look like Uncle Fester from the Addams family! X

Jelly, you’ve pinched my idea! That is one of OH’s nicknames for me (he is sooo complimentary), oh well I’ll just be a Zombie then, (not much to do for that one either…) See you all in the JM, what time is kick off (will have to keep popping back to Neddyland as I am babysitting Granddaughter

NannaB let’s be Fester twins  x
