Standing outside the dark, dark woods.

I don’t get as far as spotless, but the thought of lying there looking at a mess and not being able to do anything about it gets me going. And I like to know that there’s enough fizzy water, ginger tea, fruit, clean underwear and so forth to see me through a few days.

OH has very odd ideas about clean–eg vacuuming behind the sofa but leaving untidy piles of paper everywhere when guests are coming.

Donna - sounds like my father-in-law! I even asked one day if he would like a piece of cake with that, and he did not flinch!

Joining you ladies in the hokey cokey for next few days. It always seem worse straight after chemo. Taking some piriton tonight in the hope of some more sleep (nurse suggested it). Sounds like there a few nasty se fairies around at moment, so anyone on a week three and feeling fab, is welcome to attack those with a duster!!

Tracey x

I seem to have managed to banish all SEs from my tent so am more than willing to flick the duster around and do a bit of ironing. It will be a ‘flick and a bit’ though - am of the opinion that if i’m feeling well i should invest the energy into something much more satisfying, such as drinking in the JM.

Have rounded up the GoodnightSleep fairies and given them a pep talk, hopefully they will find you later and you will all sleep soundly.

Sleep well campers - today is nearly done and tomorrow will soon be ticked off.

Got relief from sore tounge from the GP tent in the form of a gel to paint on. The rash on my forehead is a bit better today too. Don’t know if they’re connected.
I’ve got my tribe trained now, Friday is housework day. It’s not perfect but at least there is some sort of effort once a week, though no one has noticed that the downstairs loo has become some sort of no man’s land…
Went to see Black Swan in the cinema Yurt - anyone else think it was just wierd?

Evening All,
Well, my dishwasher has been sat in the garage, feeling lonely, whilst looking for a new home, as it won’t fit in the kitchen so it’s been the Fairy and marigolds for me. The kids always protest they’ll do it, but then it comes to dishing up dinner & it’s a case of “Where are the paper plates, Mum?”.
I’m hoping the vacuuming fairy will eventually turn up, my daughter says she’s seen her somewhere in the distance but she’s yet to appear. Fortunately the washing&ironing fairy has been here for the weekend so I’ll send her on to whoever wants her.
My Duvet is now refusing to speak to me, as it’s been kicked off so many times in the night & as for doing the Okey kokey who needs aerobics classes?! No wonder we’re shattered come the morning!
Scaco - Thank you for giving all the GoodnightSleep fairies a pep talk, I think they needed it by the sounds of things.
Hopefully we’ll all sleep well as I can see a few Crabbies & Creme de menthe’s being sunk down the JM tonight.

Am going to try the piriton effect tonight…!

P…I thought black Swan was weird and disturbing…and so did lots of the folks watching it…!

Still feeling sleepy at beginning of middle week but got dressed and two friends came took me out for lunch. Straight to bed and lovely sleep when I came in and got up just as daughter had dinner ready! Maybe it is OK having most of the family back at home.lolol
The I’m going to ruin your hair fairy is having a look around- hair on head very dry and brittle but still there!
Might look into the JM later but no energy for highland flings or anything.
x x x Margaret
GP prescribed 7 sleeping tabs so tonight is last one- what a meanie!!!

I’m with Donna and Sarah on the houseowrk before cheno front. It has to be done in case I have an off day (or week, or fortnight). Fortunately the pre tax steriods give one the energy to get it done. My OH still thinks the fairies do the ironing, load the dishwasher, clean the shower…
I am on week 3 so I can offer my services for washing, ironing and making the tea when relatives come ‘to help’. My big sister is coming down from the midlands for my last tax on Friday and whisking me off to her place for recovery week where I will be pampered and generally made to rest up.
Make mine a large one in the JM tonight. I always liked the Okey Cokey but could never be coordinated enough to kep up with everyone else. I can blame the Crabbies.
Hope the SEs gremlins stay far away Tracey and anyone else this evening.
Sue

Blow the 1 small glass of wine thing; I’ll have a large dry white, thank you, while I still can this week. Then I’ll get maudlin about missing a planned trip to the Lake District due to FEC3.

Cheryl

Well I officially walked out of the Surgery tent for the last time today, though I’ll be meeting up with my surgeon in 6 months for a follow-up, so I might just invite her down to the Jingling Merkin in August so she can have a fondle of my left breast!

She gave me a parting gift of some unexpected LCIS in the re-excision to go with the unexpected DCIS which gave rise to the re-excision in the first place! An unusual choice of gifts, I thought…

I’m feeling like a bit of a tart this week, as having dumped my surgeon just today (well yesterday if you want to be picky) I’ll be chatting up my Oncologist on Wednesday. I don’t think his gifts will be quite as bearable…

(Actually, I’m feeling A LOT like a tart this week. Seeing as significant other won’t be permitted to, erm, “perform”, for a good few weeks following his heart surgery, I have every intention of stocking up on the oats because by the time he can, I probably won’t want to!)

CM- is that what they call a ‘double whammy,’ do you think??! Won’t go any further with that one!
Tracey x

'morning all. Would join you for a glass, but it’ll have to be a virtual one in the Jingling Merkin on account of how I have to be off the wine for 2 days before my blood test (arrgh). And today’s the day I get to see the oncologist for the first time after my SNB 10 days ago. A real life cuppa will have to suffice (grr).

::wanders to the bar to see if we have a handsome bartender in this place who doubles up as a masseur for those in need of having their shoulders rubbed::

Morning

Hope everyone slept well and feeling a little perkier.

Amber - there are plenty of handsome masseurs in the spa tent who are more than happy to see you after your medicinal drink. Enjoy!

Finished my sleeping tabs (7) so none for last night and haven’t slept a wink despite being so tired. Anybody else got this problem?
Gp doesn’t want me to get addicted !

I coped with sleeping much better once I started using a ‘light box’, weirdly. Don’t know why it works, but it seems to.

Ha! Take that you gremlins, sprites and witches!!!

My lovely husband has taken the dishwasher door to pieces and taken out the broken bits of hinge so it shuts again!!! OK, so the door fallls right open and gets you in the shins if you’re not careful when you open it, but I’ve already ordered a new hinge and THE DISHWASHER WORKS!!! Woohoo!!!

And even better, I feel almost totally human today so will be carousing with a vengeance at the JM tonight, exposing my beautiful baldy head to all and sundry.

Better make the most of it as I’m going back to work on Monday for the first time since before Christmas - at least for a week and a half until FEC3. Don’t think they’ll let me take Crabbies into the office…

Wide choice of Merkins available in the craft tent. Mary has knitted some tartan ones and there are lots of purple with sparkly beads on? x
