I appear to be doing the night shift - just can’t sleep. I’m staying at my Mum’s tonight as I have an early hospital appointment tomorrow morning (Mum is driving me) to have the portacath fitted, guess this is playing on my mind & not being in my own bed I suppose.
Yesterday I went to the hairdressers & got a pixie cut - I really like it, I’ll be gutted now if the cold cap doesn’t work.
Blue topaz - love the new name, I believe it’s you & I Tuesday, you ready for it?

Seroma saga - it’s still fairly sore, unfortunately it does seem to be filling up again but fingers crossed its not as bad as before.
My order from annabandana arrived today - cheap & cheerful, delivery time was less than a week.
Haven’t done anything about wig yet just ran out of time hopefully I can get an appointment next week providing se’s allow it.
Gonna try sleep some more now, night stars x

Just wanted to say best wishes to Nikki for today and everyone else with appointments.
Still under the duvet here but feeling ok. Weather dreary and miserable so I think I might just stay where I am. xx
Sounds like a plan! Wish I could but visit from District nurse due @ I don’t know when so up & ready soon. Just want one day when I don’t have to do anything. Fat chance!! Dentist for me today at guess what time… Tooth-hurty!!! I know. It’s had me giggling every time I think of it ??
Brilliant Frenchfancy. Nothing like a bit of laughter to get the day off to a good start and that did make me chuckle. Hope everything is ok at the dentist. Btw never did spill the beans on that name girlie!
Decided to emerge from the duvet after all. Second injection done by lovely son. Boob is still a bit red but other than that fingers crossed everything seems ok. Steroids are finished now so guess energy levels may take a tumble. xx

Can’t believe you’re filling up again…nightmare!!! As for the wig, never to late get onto them, if nothing else its quite good fun trying them all on!! Barbs, not sure I am starting on the 18th now. I rang the hospital yesterday asking if I can have my chemo on a Monday not a Wednesday as OH is working away from next week and it will be easier for him to be here on a monday than having to travel back midweek. The nurse said you arent down for the 18th, you will get a date next Friday when you come for your assessment. So who knows when I will start! x
So glad you enjoyed your night (or was it a day trip?) out. Obviously worth it!! Bummer on the possible change of date for your start. Even if you end up later, you’re not planning on deserting us are you?
Hi Nikki, yes you and me next tues. Hope everthing goes ok today, it’s awful sleepless nights… I’ve had plenty, others too no doubt. Not really ready, as bit in the dark, will know more on Monday. Maybe I’m not asking enough questions…everything happened so quickly…

Barbs & Debs…i felt really uptight & scared before my session on Tuesday but the senior nurse was great, really put me at ease after i dissolved into tears. The nurses were all great too…mine was from Trinidad and she kept me amused with her tales of growing up over there whilst she was sitting with me pushing in the swamp cocktail. Just keep your minds occupied with mags etc and the time will wizz by and just think thats the 1st over
Just ordered my wig which is very much like my own style, just a little shorter. Took my god daughter with me (18 years old) and she persuaded me to try some different styles…so maybe treating myself to a slighter darker shade but a lot longer !! a bit of glam for when i do go out.
Still feeling good today, if a bit tired but i have put that down to the couple of large glasses of wine i had last night

Yes, Barbs, I have been having a bit of a lazy day today. Did pop to see my GP at lunchtime. He is so lovely. Just wants to hold my hand through all this it would seem. Another visit with him next Friday. Booked flu jab but need to speak to onco re pneumonia one to see when is the best time to have it.
Sam, so pleased to hear you have been out enjoying yourself. I’m not jealous, honest, grrrrr! What I wouldn’t give for a glass of red right now. Hope you get your chemo date sorted soon. It would be nice if they could accommodate your needs wouldn’t it? x
Blue, hopefully if you are as lucky as I have been your sleepless nights will soon be over. Since chemo started I have been sleeping really well. Diazapam is a great help too. x
Lulu, hope you have a fab time in the caravan. Have a couple of drinks for me if you like. Can you tell I’m getting desperate. I am very impressed with the expletives too and yours Barbs. x
Ally, great news you have wig sorted. I took my daughter with me to help choose. Incidentally am I the only one not drinking at the moment. Glad to hear you are still doing ok. Hope you have a good weekend too. x

Hi everyone,
I’m back home now, have had a sleep & still feel tired but think this is more to do with not sleeping well last night as opposed to the procedure I had.
the portacath was fitted under a local anaesthetic… get me how brave am I? lol.
It turned out that one of the theatre nurses & the surgeon knew my Mum (Mum had been a theatre nurse for about 20 yrs she is retired now). The surgeon told me that they aren’t allowed to tell you which option to choose they can only give you the facts for each option, however he opened up once he realised who my mum was and told me I had definitely picked the right option & that’s what he would recommend if allowed.
He told me that he had just removed a portacath from a women who has just finished her treatment & she had told him to tell me “you have done the right thing”.
I didn’t feel a thing, I have been popping painkillers since I got home, not because it hurts… Just scared in case it does lol. Doubt it will now as it was done at about 11am and I’m sure the local would have worn off by now.
I’ll get a pic up on fb later of my pixie cut - not sure how to do it praps one of you techno whizzes can tell me how to load the photo to the group but not to my Facebook friends, also I am feeling a little tired & fragile at the moment so can’t be asked right now.
Have we heard from beam and/or batman yet.
