I bet you are very happy to finish treatment Lane it just seems endless all the worry stress and feeling lousy. Are you on any other treatments now? Zena the bum thing sounds awful i had probs with constipation on FEC. I was on gcsf with FEC and i felt pretty lousy but now i am on weekly i don’t have them. I only have steroids in my line along with piriton and an antacid before the chemo. Apparently it’s a very small dose incase of a reaction to chemo. I have lots of strange pains sometimes in my chest and then my me know seems to swell up after every chemo. I have lymph node involvement so always worrying about the aches and pains. I have been looking into cbd oil so would be interested more info on a reputable supplier. Hope it’s helping you Zena x
Hi I’m so so grateful to be finished and no I’m not on anything now , I felt it all went very quick which was probably a good thing, just trying hard to get back to normal as much as possible xx

Hi Claire , yes I’m so so happy to be finished with it all I felt that the most of my time was at the hospital as I went for rt Monday to Friday , but I’m so grateful to all the staff but also glad it’s finished with , stay positive Claire and you to will be treatment free soon take care xx
Thanks for the info Zena I am going to order some as my fingers are sore.
Lane Thanks for the encouragement it has seemed to go on for ages because i had surgery and recon before chemo and then will have rads and Herceptin. I just can’t wait to go on holiday and sit in the sun with a lovely glass of wine ? Glad you are feeling positive after treatment xx
Hi Claire it will soon be over and you’ll be able to enjoy life again . I found that part difficult at first until my appointment with surgeon after treatment and she sat and explained absolutely everything to me and tolls me I did not have c…r anymore tthen I burst into tears and she kept telling me it was gone I was free of it and I should look at having the chemo and rt as an extra prevention , you will be sitting in the sun with your glass of wine before you no it , take care Claire xx

Hi ladies,
Can I join your thread?
I’m having my 2nd weekly tax tomorrow. I had 4x EC and will be having 12x weekly tax. I found the first bit too bad - much better than EC! Was starting to feel really sick on that despite never throwing up!
I’m having surgery after chemo due to a very large (11cm), aggressive tumour and node involvement. It’s IDC with a query on IBC as the skin was very inflamed.
I’m 36 with a 2yo daughter. After chemo and surgery I will have RT and pills for 5-10 years. My CT scan was clear so I think im stage 3 but finding docs reluctant to commit to anything until after surgery.
So far chemo is working well for me. My boob nearly looks normal again! Hoping to have another MRI nearer the end of chemo to check.
Love the holiday talk! I’m desperate for one. So fed up with this now and missing “normal” life so much. Also feeling thankful for the treatment and support.
Sending you all lots of love and virtual hugs fellow fighters xx
P.s. Zena - I’m so with you on the bum troubles!! As if this wasn’t bad enough!! ?
Hi I finished my 12 weeks last September and i was really okay muscles a bit sore towards the end but plenty hot baths and a bit of peripheral neuropathy in my finger tips , hope it goes well for you to wtp2016 xx
Thanks Lane! well done for getting through it all x
I’m at the hospital now for week 2 but my white blood cells had dropped a lot so they might send me home… boo! Just waiting to hear from Doctor. Fingers crossed!
Silly question in the grand scheme of things but did anyone else put on weight? I was gaining 3kg every 3 weeks on EC and had hoped to stall it with tax. I’ve been much more active and strict with my diet this week but yet still gained 1.5kg in a week - it’s madness!
Sorry, I know it doesn’t really matter but it’s bringing me down a bit (combined with the baldness and no eyebrows).
Thanks all xxx
Hi got my fingers crossed for you , yeah I put on weight to by week 12 I was a size 12 ?? and I’m finding it hard to loose it xx
hi Zena , I wasn’t to bad I the menopausal in 2009 and took this 2016 do I don’t get any symptoms now and I don’t need to take any of the medication, I’m wishing you all the best and hope your bum isn’t to bad ?
Hi wtp2016
Hope you managed to get your treatment done today. I too am finding weekly much easier than Docetaxol and FEC. Had my 3rd yesterday so 3 to go as i already had 1Docetaxol so only need 6 weekly. I have had surgery and immediate recon for IDC Grade 3 with lymphs involved. Radio herceptin and then hormones. It never seems to end! I lost weight with FEC but am gaining rapidly with this regime. Bloated and hungry all the time. Nurse said it’s very common but it’s still depressing as if we haven’t got enough to deal with. Right going to look at holidays now to cheer me up! Good luck Wtp2016 and Zena who is also having treatment. Day by day we are getting through this ??
Claire xx
Hi Claire,
3 to go - yay!! You’re nearly there! At least for this part of the journey.
How was the surgery? I’d mentally prepped for it on Dec but then my plan got swapped around to start with chemo so I’d almost forgotten about it.
Luckily the doc agreed to me having chemo today so I’m 2 down, 10 to go. Once I get under 10 I’ll feel like I can properly start to count down!
Feeling ok so far, just sleepy from the piriton.
Have a lovely evening! Xxxx
So glad you had your treatment we don’t want any delays it’s countdown to finish. I hope you find that the weekly seem to go quickly no sooner having bloods and then treatment and the next one is here. Surgery was ok i had a diep reconstruction with mx and reduction to other breast so it’s a big operation and i did feel awful for the first 2 days but by day 3 felt loads better and was home after 5 days. Great news your getting good results from chemo and hope you feel well today and can enjoy the sunny weather with your daughter. I have 2 teenagers so less energetic but more hormones!
Zena hope your ok and got some treatment for your bum issues ?
Love and strength xxx
Sorry - I don’t get email alert for this thread so missed all that …
Hi wtp nice to meet you xx
I’ve just had a zipiclone so getting dosey , but yes PAx or PAC every week for 12 weeks so far much better than Fec …
my bum has been horrendous… first constipation then took to many laxs so on the loo every hour for 2 days … so stopped taking laxs and now no pooooooofor 2 days andcstarted taking lax again … it’s like a joke ?
I was bad day 4-5 - chemo like tired and felt crappy …
But ok apart from that … o got a rash on my face - onc gave me aveeno ( on nhs , nice one ) so that’s getting better…
Off to bed now -
Lovely to have you along with us wtp
Hey Claire too Hun hope you ok?
Did your package come yet ? Xx
Hope you had a good sleep Zena and rash is clearing up. I am really bloated do either of you get that? Package not arrived yet but got email to say it’s on its way. Have been looking at Gmaf online too but so much info it’s hard to know if it’s good or not. Sorry you still dealing with bum issues the drugs seem to affect us in different ways. Do you have Herceptin too?
Hope weekend is kind to you both xx
Evening! Nice to meet you too Zena ?
I feel your pain re bum issues - I’ve had really bad constipation following every EC - gave me pikes, bleeding, lots of lovely things like that! Then first tax I had it again for 2 days before it flipped and went the other way! The nurse didn’t give me any antisickness for the second weekly tax as she said that is probably the thing causing the constipation. So far it does seem a bit better… fingers crossed!
Claire - yep, bloating is horrid! I feel so swollen and don’t know if it’s the steroids or constipation but combined with my extra kilos, I’m just feeling massive and uncomfortable. Boo!
Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow!! Hope you all have a lovely restful day with plenty of treats xxxx
