I’m on the FF bench. :smileymad: Left school 15 mins early to come home to leave my car and pick up OH. Saw a missed call on phone from “withheld” checked messages. Asked to NOT attend CT scan appointment but to ring this (garbled) number. Eventually sorted out what number was and after 10 redials due to engaged tone, got through to be told scan is cancelled because of staff sickness. Re-booked for Friday at 5.45pm. Soooo fed up! I was looking forward to putting this behind me, but the waiting goes on!
On the plus side I’ve just guzzled a mugatea and a bun - I was so thirsty!! I was dreading another 3 hours without a proper drink!
Joey just had a tantrum when I tried to put on his lycra outfit - I think he was about to leave home! Meg walked round the garden looking proud in her tiara and pearls, and FRIGHTFULLY grand. I shall wear strapless bra and lycra leggings, with bling.
I am going to dance on the worktops in my c string and hot pink play suit. I may also be doing some involuntarily diving, as the bare floorboards are, temporarily, covered with large sheets of card over which I keep tripping!! Also, if I forget to put the brakes on on the trolley unit, I may be doing some surprise wheelies in the middle of the kitchen, possibly even brandishing a knife!!
Sooooooooooo we will be dancing, woo hoo, must remember my handbag, will be wearing all in one pillar box red lycra, rather dashing must say! Tiara is already on the head, may arrive a bit dishevelled due to broomstick, weather etc…
Will bring lots of glitterberry juice and more cake…
How annoying JCJ, you just want it all over and good results.
Looking forward to seeing you dancing on the worktops, remember no shoes!
I’m back!:smileyvery-happy: Just in time for a party, woo hoo. I shall do my famous spinning on my head for your entertainment and will dig out the bling this afternoon.
I have spent the whole morning trying to set up this new internet connection and just when I thought I had it all sorted I found that the phone had stopped working! It was back to the drawing board to work out what I had done wrong but all seems ok now.
I will read what I have missed more carefully later, I have to go shopping now as it is grandson’s birthday TODAY and I still need to buy him something before going there after work tonight. Cake will be available there as well (I hope).
I think I may have done myself a mischief. I knew I should have checked the breaks were on on the kitchen trolley unit before deciding to leap onto it mid-pirouette! What a spectacular crash!! Sorry Meg if that frightened you.
I hope you enjoyed the bangers and mash - I had my bangers wrapped in pastry! (NOT a euphemism for some of the less glamorous treatments I’ve endured over the past 3 years! :p)
We had a phone call from the tiler - he’s coming this weekend instead of next! #£%&! I knew I should have painted that door frame and 6" section of skirting board last weekend! Because my scan is tomorrow evening and he’s coming at 8.30am on Saturday (shucks! I’ll jave to get up and dressed by then! ), I won’t have time now. I’ll have to do it uber carefully after the floor’s in. Dark grey floor and brilliant white gloss paint - what could possibly go wrong??!
On the plus side: it means it’ll be finished sooner, and I can get the finished photos before we mess it up too much by using it!
Food wonderful, dancing spectacular, just fabulously fab!
yum yum yum all that cake…
Just a small question “Where did everyone disappear to when I was singing?”
Loved the trolley dash and Meg’s unusual moves!
Roll on the next event:smileyhappy:!
So unorganised today so will have to move big time:smileyfrustrated:!
Bumped into a BC friend yesterday, haven’t seen her since before Xmas, she’s just learned that she has secondaries and will find out the full extent next week, my heart goes out to her, doesn’t sound good.
Beautiful sunny day here, woo hoo and snow has almost gone, hope you have your scan today JCJ!! Sending positive vibes, hugs and lots of spoons xx
Trip to vet for Meg’s checkup - as she trails her back legs a bit now, the toes and claws will get abraded, so to protect them, the vet suggests - WAIT FOR IT - applying nail varnish a few times a week!!!
I wonder if anyone makes corgi-coloured nail varnish…
Hahaha! The Duchess with nail varnish on! I love it! Can you get some to match her tiara? She will feel soooo special!
Scan done. Back home eating chips. Worst bit was having to drink a litre of squash (yuk) with iodine in, over the course of 90 mins, and not being allowed to go to the loo. I genuinely thought I was going to wet myself - or burst - when I was in the scanner! Then they injected a dye which made me feel like I actually *was* wetting myself - but luckily she warned me that would happen :smileyembarrassed:
7 to 10 days to wait for results, but she said it’s usually quicker than that and to phone the GP next Friday.
Right. Must now shift stuff back out of the kitchen ready for tiler tomorrow. No peace for the wicked?
You try painting a dog’s toenails with nail polish… cue growling, teeth, wriggling, and extreme bad temper!!! So I shall have to buy her some little boots tomorrow. Oh bliss!!!
Trolley unit with heavy microwave on top, large freezer, fridge and washing machine all dumped in living room, so I have no room to put ironing board up and I’m trapped in here: shucks! I’ll just have to watch the (blue) tennis! Tiles grouted and floor going in.
Hugs Katy, I hope you get your lido soon. Try not to worry (ha! Hark who’s talking!?!) as worrying only makes pain worse. You know it’s arthur and not BC related! xx
Tiling finished. Floor done. Door frame painted 2nd coat went on yesterday, with one hand while I cooked Sunday dinner with the other! Also, almost simultaneously, did the ironing! Halo adorned and polished!
All that’s left is for the fitters to come back to fit the plinths and seal the floor to them and the worktops to the tiles. I need to order new slats for the blind, as the existing ones are skanky and unwashable. I adjusted the length of all 30 slats whilst cooking risotto tonight - (and drinking the left over wine - don’t think any 2 slats are the same length now!! Hic!) as the plaster board and new tiles have made the window sill about 1" higher. Just got to decide which slat is the right length to order for the new ones (that’s my excuse for them all being different lengths - and I’m sticking to it! :p)
My sister has finally got the date for the start of her bone marrow transplant. Hickman line going in on 6th March, (smae day as my 3rd annual mammo!) chemo commences on 9th - 5 or 6 weeks of strong chemo to kill her own bone marrow, before receiving our brother’s. All very scary, but the NHS website claims it’s a “cure” for her condition, so, hopefully, it will be worth it in the end!
Hope you have recovered from your escapades JCJ, sounds like a LOT of glitterberry juice was swallowed!!
Thinking of you and still have fingers and toes crossed for Fri and results. Great news about your sister, a long haul, but worth it.
grumpy hope Meg is better with the socks, perhaps ASBO boy is turning over a new leaf!
Am on lots of benches today, first is the “popeye” bench, lynn has made a extraordinary appearance this morning in a rather bulgy mode, reminded me of popeye’s arm!!
Second bench was the “just pop in a couple of bits of my jigsaw” two hours later and almost completed, which leads me to the “bad behaviour” bench near the old favourite “CBA” bench.
Lastly the “can’t stand that toothpaste any longer” bench, have been using for a year now and has made NO difference to my BMS, hate the taste and also hate how I can never squeeze the toothpaste out properly, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, double grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Had a lovely day with RevCat yesterday, lots of tongue clacking, have kept her up to date with Benchland:smileyhappy: xx
Aw shucks! I got a colleague sent home earlier because she looked really ill - yet another stomach bug doing the rounds (but at least I didn’t get it first this time?!) - so now I’ve got landed with After School Club until 5.30pm. We’re watching Happy Feet at the moment, so at least it’s quite calm.
