Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Forgot to say: There’s a lovely park by the river in Bakewell. It has nearly as many benches as Benchland-by-the-sea (otherwise known as Norecambe, amongst other things! ) I saw them all and couldn’t help smiling as I thought of you all.

Just jumped onto the “smug” bench after reading your weather reports. Glorious weather down here, blue skies and sunshine. I don’t know what the temperature is but I’m only wearing a t-shirt. NO, no… I don’t mean I’m ONLY wearing a t-shirt :smileytongue: I have on other clothes as well!!! I mean a jumper/cardi is not required.

Found myself firmly fixed to the CBA bench this afternoon. Debated with myself about going to school but the bench won. I will therefore be going to school tomorrow morning!

Glad your GP came up trumps Grumpy. Hope the drugs do their job and that you will be painfree shortly.

Katy - you are right about son’s car. When he finally gets it back it will be worth all the inconvenience to know that he has a car that should be ok for a long time. When son collects it, he is going to ask the price of the repairs, we are curious.

Send the washing JCJ, only too happy to do it for you. I don’t do ironing though!

Norecambe, The Madlands, Benchland by the Sea, The Benchlanders, aaah such fond memories:smileyhappy:!

FF running around in JUST a t shirt??? No head spinning then??:smileyvery-happy:!

Yes JCJ, I’ll also do your washing. Just pop it in the tardis.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Bakewell Tarts yumyum, so glad you had a lovely break, with no ill effects!

Staying on the “CBA” bench today, all day xx

Went to school this morning. Not too bad and now ready for Monday morning.

Son has got his car back and reports that it is now purring instead of clunking. He says it is much nicer to drive now and has requested a copy of the bill that will go to the dealer detailing all the new parts fitted and the work that has been done. I’ve obviously brought him up right as he was ahead of me on that one. We want everything documented just in case. Hopefully all will be ok now with no further problems.

Firmly on the tennis bench today, yay go Andy. Don’t think he’ll win but hoping he gets to the semis.

Two days with the new meds and no boob pain, and much less joint pain, and nose problem is a bit better!!! RESULT!!!

Been to select new van and it will be ready in a couple of weeks…

Thanks for hint about glitterberry juice, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

Hope all the washing has been done - so that’s just the ironing to do now.

Grumpy

<Empty imported post>

That’s really quick grumpy, you’ll be soooooo pleased:smileyhappy:!!

Brilliant news about car FF:smileyhappy:!

All quiet here ran over to supermarket avoiding rain, woo hoo! Gale force winds here, it’s like winter again…:smileyfrustrated:!

Saw GS this morning and in 10 mins was wee’d on and sick on, good job I now have a working washing machine hee hee xx

Hello Sonas66 - don’t be shy! Everyone’s welcome here - or did you write in that invisible Benchland ink?

I’ve just been to the hospital - AGAIN - for blood tests ahead of my Onc appointment in 2 week’s time. I was given the bloods form at my last Onc appointment, LAST JUNE, are you impressed that I still had it AND could find it? I am! *adjusts halo*. Depending on the results of these blood tests, I MAY be switched from Tamoxifen to an AI - hopefully examatase (sp?), as that is the one recommended by the REACT trial and seems to have the least bad side effects. I’ve been mostly OK on Tapoxyfen so I’m a bit anxious about changing to something else - especially the stories of joint pain! However, I’ll remember what Dr B said “Don’t LOOK for side effects!”

Good news about the car - I hope it runs and runs with no further ptoblems now.

Hope the meds are continuing to improve things for you Grumpy.

Running KTC??? I wish I’d seen that! :p

xx

You’re a mean girl JCJ:smileylol:!!

You may just be able to stay on ta"poxy"fen especially if you have hardly any side effects, that would be good xx

All quiet on the Benchland front…

Have not been up to much either, bumped into a friend yesterday and he was telling me that he was at a Gourmet Night, few hours later ended up in hospital had taken a massive allergic reaction to fresh chilli s has had a catheter fitted for two weeks, geez you can’t believe things like that!

Hope you are all fine xx

Wow! Summer seems to have arrived today! It’s been gorgeous all day and I’ve only just shut the back door - at 10pm! - and that’s not because it’s cold but because I’m kn*****ed and feel very sick (again :frowning: ) after swimming, so I’ve taken an anti-sickness pill and I’m going to bed. It was only 2 nights ago we were debating lighting the fire as it was so cold in the evening!

Watching the post every day for my operation date (figure that if the (2nd!) pre-op assessment is 15th June, the operation won’t be THAT long after??!) I never get letters, apart from holiday advertising, but in the last 4 days, I’ve had: 2 letters about my new Online ISA, a new credit card, my P60 for 2014/2015 and a letter from the bank about new terms and conditions. Arrgghhh!

My mobile phone has broken…

Oh for goodness sake, FF! Whatever next??? :frowning: <<hugs>>

Geez FF what can I say??? You must be sitting on the “lucky white heather” bench…

JCJ hope you are feeling better today and the sickness tabs are working, fingers crossed you don’t have to wait too long, this will be the first time you will get excited by a hospital letter.

We are having stinkin’ weather gale force winds, sunshine and rain, fed up of it all:smileyfrustrated:!

Have just burnt a whole pot of potatoes, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, managed to salvage but a very bad pot to try and clean, thats what I get for talking too much.

Went into town today not for long, my whole body aches so off to sit on the “fed up of that too” bench xx

I have been firmly on the “what an idiot” bench today. “Whatever next?” Let me tell you a story…Friday’s I clean for a lovely lady about 2 miles from my home. I leave my car locked on her drive. When I finish I load my stuff back into the boot, shut it, unlock the car and drive away. Not today… today I managed to shut the keys inside the boot when I closed it! :smileysad:

Plan A…driver’s window was slightly open so I thought if I could manoeuvre a “stick” of some sort I could press the boot release button on the dashboard. Did that but it turns out that if car is locked the button won’t work. I have a spare key for the car at home, then I realised that as my house key is also on the keyring I can’t get in.

Plan B…phone daughter, she has a key to my house. Thank goodness she was in, explained my predicament. She said she would come and get me but would be an hour or so and didn’t have a clue where my spare key was. My lovely lady, she’s 91 years young, offered to make me lunch while I waited. I declined but had two cups of tea! Daughter arrived to pick me up with every key that she could find in her house. The second one we tried opened my front door. (I had had visions of having to get a locksmith). Found my spare car key, went back and retrieved the car.:smileyhappy:

I can now laugh at my own stupidity but, for Heaven’s sake, what else can go wrong?

Perhaps it is strange but none of my “calamities” has really bothered me. A while ago I would have been really annoyed but now they have just been nuisances to be fixed. A bc diagnosis puts everything into perspective and as long as I am fit and well…so what?

I’ve got a new mobile phone. £15. I considered upgrading to an all singing all dancing one but then thought…Why? I only want to make the odd call and send the odd text so a basic one will do.

Gosh what you’ll do for a muggatea FF???

You made me laugh and brilliant that you are not cracking up with all the disasters you have encountered over the last few weeks:smileyhappy:! Putting things in prospective, you’re completely right.

Have been awake most of the night so going to sit on the “grumpy” bench for a while…sorry grumpy won’t be sitting on you though:smileyhappy:!

Gale force winds and rain again xx

Today I seem to have frightened two policemen. I knew that I was stopping at the T-junction but maybe I was a little over the white line when I did. Police car coming down the main road swerved. I thought “oops” but carried on. Next thing I know I’ve got blue flashing lights behind me. I pulled over. “Do you have your driving license on you Madam?” “Yes” “We’re just going to run a few checks”. I watch enough “Road Wars” to know that they are checking the MOT, tax, and insurance. No problem there . So I got a small lecture on road safety which I took with surprising meekness. No point in antagonising the “boys in blue”.

New phone is up and running, had difficulty fitting the SIM card but finally worked it out.

Good grief FF! What will you do for an encore?

I’m on the snotty bench today. A pitfall of working with (xverminx) children. It’s been aaaages since I last had a cold, so I suppose I shouldn’t complain - but that doesn’t stop me feeling sorry for myself! Sniff, wheeze, gasp, splutter, sigh. Repeat.

The police now FF??? This has got to stop:smileyhappy:!

Ok so onto the sofa for you JCJ, hankies, low fat tasty things and the BELL…

Away to be on the “busy with the baby” bench, ED and partner are off for a day, night out, well it’ll keep me on my toes and no time for any mischief…xx

The Duchess had a day at the vet for dental refurbishment, so the ASBO Boy was VERY subdued all day - until he met his friend in the park for pointless running about, whereupon he managed to knock out one of his own teeth!! Blood everywhere… but both are OK now.

Must sort out the garden, been putting it off for 3 days, just sitting on the can’t be bothered bench instead.
