Have not been to school today as when I woke up I found I couldn’t move without pain.Thighs, buttocks, pain :smileysad: Unaccustomed scrawming around on GD’s bedroom floor with flat pack has taken it’s toll. Visited 93 yr old friend for a coffee and did her cleaning that I don’t do and then just collapsed into armchair! Will go to school tomorrow.
Had a phone call that jewellery repairs were ready. Collected them, a new bolt ring, a new jump ring and the restringing of the pearls…£38! Ouch!..But when I think about it, worth it, daughter bought me those pearls and I love them and wore them daily so well worth restringing (must stop twiddling them as that’s what caused them to break). New rings will enable me to wear Edwardian pendant Mum left me at afternoon tea. (even if one of you has to do it up) :smileyhappy:
Weather forecast for today was good, so the thunder, lightening and hailstorm was quite a surprise. I got wet, very very wet!
In Bridligton. There are soooo many benches!! Literally hundreds. Even more than Norecambe!! We just had fish & chips on one of them, overlooking the sea, in lovely sunshine and only shivering slightly.
In our B&B is a man who has cycled here from Morecambe!! 170 miles coast to coast. Took him 4 days. I’m exhausted just contemplating that!
Ouchy FF, hope you are less painful today, it’s amazing how sore you can get just doing the smallest of things:smileyfrustrated:
Are you going to sit on every bench JCJ? hee hee
Funny you should say that about the man, was seriously thinking of cycling down, in the end it was a toss up to decide and first class train journey with tiara on head won:smileywink:
Looking forward to seeing your jewels FF, fab you can wear them again:smileyhappy:.
Things are beginning to be slightly less painful. Keep moving is best, as when I sit down I only stiffen up again. I have taken to walking around the car park area hourly. Neighbours probably think I’m going mad!
I’ve made a list :smileyhappy: Things to take to Norecambe! There is more technology and more chargers on the list than last year. How come we cannot manage without gadgets anymore? I am even thinking of buying more, and I definitely need one of those chargers that does multiple items instead of having several with post it notes over the wires to say what they are for! My GC call me a dinosaur and they’re not wrong.
Ordered a cover for my new kindl on the internet, it arrived today, it doesn’t fit and it won’t close. I’ve made it fit with a bit of padding, and an elastic band holds it closed. It was cheap so I can’t be faffed to send it back as I would have to pay postage.
Family all coming over to my house tomorrow, I’m in the middle, we meet here. Got in the biscuits, crisps etc.
Back home. 4th load of washing in. Luckily it’s a sunny, breezy day so I’m getting it all dry quickly. No camping **** to put away either - already did that!
Writing lists for MMU5 packing so I prioritise washing/ironing.
OH managed to drive all the way home from Bridlington, yesterday, with several lengthy stops. I think he decided he was more anxious as a passenger than driving (welcome to my world! I’ve had YEARS of being the anxious passenger - though I keep quiet and don’t tell HIM how to drive - just concentrate on the navigation - he’s not learnt to do the same!! We had words when I drove most of way from Durham to Brid. with little help with navigating but instructions about when to change gear! Grrrr! :()
Having said that, he’s in a much better mood than expected. Coming home usually plummets him back into grumpy mode, but so far…! I think he’s looking forward to a couple of days without me here so he can blast out his opera DVDs!
No smear test results yet. That must be a good sign?
Safe trip tomorrow KTC. I hope it all goes smoothly. Soon!!
Glad you are back home safe and sound:smileyhappy:!
OH not coming to Norcambe then??? :smileylol:
Spent the afternoon sleeping again, getting terrible, just cannot keep my eyes open haha, back is behaving nicely, thank goodness.
Off tomorrow around 1 get into Norcambe for 7, not too bad.
Let me know when you think you will arrive and will meet you in the car park and down at the railway station, don’t worry about bags cause you will be able to pop them into my room.
Will let you know when I am there, sooooooooo excited now xx WOO HOO xx
I hope you’ve packed a raincoat and unbrella Katy, I’ve been on the Met Office website and I think our luck with the weather has run out. A fair chance of getting wet this year :smileysad: If necessary we will wake you up when the next cup of tea arrives. Safe journey!
Family came over, lovely to see them, lovely when they left. All biscuits and crisps eaten!
Did the washing and as soon as the machine finished it started to rain. Hopefully it will be fine tomorrow so I can get it dry otherwise I may be modelling the latest fashion in wet clothing :smileyfrustrated: At this moment I have only two pairs of dry knickers!!!
I’m less stiff today, leg is now ok and back better.
Hoping to get an early start on Tues. and should arrive around lunchtime, if no delays on Motorways. Will keep in touch.
My train due in 13:56, if it’s on time. And I manage to catch it!
Make sure the people around you know which stations you need to get off at, in case you fall asleep on the train, KTC!
Washing all dry, except the last few things that got rescued as it started to rain. All ironed and put away or dumped on my suitcase on the bedroom floor. Been raining all evening.
The Met Office App on my phone says Morecambe will be sunny with only 30 to 40% chance of light rain for most of Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday (60% chance heavy rain at 7am - very good reason to stay in bed?!) and Thursday am. So we might be lucky again. But they changed their minds every hour or so last week for Durham forecast!! Don’t want it too hot and sunny when we’re eating cake in the greenhouse anyway?? And the King’s Arms has plenty of indoor seating!
One day you need to see Norecambe as it usually is anyway!
Finding it so hard to pack this morning. Just can’t make decisions. If I was going by car I’d just shove it all in, but trying to stick to my little bag that will fit under my feet on the train.
Stupid British weather! If we could rely on sunshine, I could just pack bikinis and shorts?
Yeah. Right!
WHAT no OH???haha
Am almost ready just have to pack toothbrush and toothpaste.
Yep no idea what I should bring do have rain coat and a pair of shorts we ll see!
Hot here at the moment, fingers crossed for reasonable weather.
Will meet you whenever just let me know, oh my tomorrow, can you believe it?
Woo hoo scooby/booby doo xx
Woke up stupidly early. Fretting about number of bags/stuff to schlepp about. Got up. Chucked a load of clothes out of bag. Washed hair. Chucked shampoo & conditioner out. Squished other items in. Sorted! Just 2 (heavier!) bags and my Mac to carry.
Home too safe and sound, journeys went well, APART from JCJ trying to get me on the wrong train, she obviously wanted rid of me asap and any train would do???
Geez:smileywink:!
Glad you are home JCJ, just FF now.
Sun was splitting the pavements on arriving back, so windows all open, washing started and takeaway tonight, no cooking well, any excuse will do for me!!
We did the scones Ali, but no hot choc, maybe next year haha!
Sooooooooo lucky again with the weather, one of my train helpers thought I had been abroad hee hee.
Thank you girls for the lovely gifts and the truly wonderful fun, massive hugs to you xx
Finally… I’m home and on the extremely knacked bench! Road works, contraflows. accidents, diversions, 30mph speed limits etc. Four stops at services the last one for for an extremely strong coffee. Shed layers of clothing as I moved South. Stomach behaved perfectly :smileyvery-happy:
Thank you girls, for the gifts, the company and the laughter! Many hugs to you both, here’s to No. 6.
Daughter said it was a good job we weren’t on the East Coast as Scarborough has had a monsoon and horrendous flooding.
GS’s appt. yesterday also got him a diagnosis of ASD (at long last). Dr. getting reports done etc., DAF meetings set up etc…
Loving the little camel (whoever’s pyjamas he’s wearing). Can we adopt him? Humpdinkling?
