Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

As you are aware, I have the most expensive washer/dryer in the world hahaha, do use dryer all the time as there are no outside areas unless I was to use parking space so it is a necessity here. Also have an airer for things that cannot be tumbled.

Been for my muggachoc, another “posh” place, then into town, purchased all things needed, fingers crossed, so will not be out until later in week, woo hoo!!!

Torrential rain this morning, was so, so dark, beginning to clear now…

Have been choking a few times, just liquids, what am I doing??? grrrrrrrrrr, smaller swigs of tea needed methinks xx

PS, was in that shop you mentioned JCJ and forgot to look…it wasn’t on my post it…xx

It was a washer/drier that died on me and because of the little use that the drier part had (4/5 times a year) I decided to just buy a washer 'cos it was cheaper!  I’m a cheapskate :smileyembarrassed:  Regret it 4/5 times a year.

I have an airer…but I now have a Purdie, as fast as I put the clothes on the airer she is pulling them off, great game!  Ok…shut Purdie in lounge, put washing on airer in conservatory and I have managed to get my undies dry, that was the priority.

Katy, get you going to “posh” places!  Stay out of the torrential rain (just drizzling again here) and take care over the choking.  FF a little concerned here, see your Doc if it continues.

And I can relax, Purdie’s asleep.  Taken three hours to put this post together as she needs to regularly be removed from danger or have her claws unstuck from the curtains. Or to just be played with or stroked. I’m just her slave!

She’s awake again and clawing the sofa to death,  has no idea what to do with the scratching post I bought for her!  Now climbing the curtains…

Rather you than me, FF. The trials and tribulations of pets?!

HMI inspection tomorrow and Thursday at school. Can’t be as bad as last time. And at least it’s not the last week before C-WORD!!

Just made apple cake and chocolate cake ready for Friday’s Macmillan coffee morning at school. Then I remembered the festering banana that I was saving to make banana & oat biscuits for the same event. Ah well, we’ll just have to have those? Oooh. Smells like one of them is overcooking a bit…

Ooooh yummy JCJ:smileyhappy:!

Good luck tomorrow.

FF and her kitty, jumping and climbing all over the place, just spin on your head a couple of times and that will calm kitty down hahaha.

Quiet day today woo hoo trying to make the most of these days while I can haha.

No choking so hope that nonsense has all stopped:smileyfrustrated:

Also half the thing on my eye fell off so by the time I’m seen in 30 weeks it maybe completely gone xx

Whoever thought this kitten idea was a good one?  Oh yes, that would be me.  Jeez, she’s got a little bigger and can now jump onto the piano, from there to the kitchen worktop , upstairs and anywhere, I need eyes in the back of my head to keep her safe from harm.  It goes from come here you little b***** to aww you’re so sweet when she cuddles up next to me.  And now she’s walking over the keyboard, any typos are her fault.

School good, they’re keeping it nice and clean so far.  Youngest GD started pre-school enjoying it so far, apart from the initial 10 mins when Mum leaves.

aaaah FF, you wouldn’t be without her??? haha

Is your back better?

Have been superly lazy today, read a little and faffed around…should have changed beds etc but just couldn’t be bothered, it’s all such an effort…

Are you swimming tonight JCJ?

And where are you now?

Easy thing for tea or one that involves cooking, chopping etc, which will win? No contest methinks xx

Yes , my back is all better and you’re qute right Katy, I wouldn’t be without my Purdie.  I’m totally in love.  She’s a delight, a playmate, a soft cuddly love and a total bl***y nightmare all at the same time!  Getting to know her routine… madness in the morning, sleeps in the afternoon, more madness in the evening and after I shut her in the conservatory for the night who knows what goes on.  But she seems pleased to see me in the morning.

Nothing else to report, weather is sunshine and rain, Daughter called in yesterday took more photos of Purdie, everything is Purdie related at the moment.

Keep swimming JCJ, where are you now ? How many miles? We need to start planning the party for when you finish!

Hahaha FF, I read your post as “she’s got a little b*gger”! Probably true, but you actually put “bigger”! :)

Yes, KTC, I did go swimming. 62% of the way round now - heading towards the top NE corner of the island (Guernsey) Just over 11 miles left to go.

Some thieving cow in the changing rooms stole my 50p from right under my nose!! ? The storage lockers take a 50p - which is returned when you unlock the locker. Whilst juggling all my clothes and bags into a locker, I dropped my 50p and it skittered off across the floor to my right. A woman bent down, picked a 50p off the floor and put it in her locker slot!!! The cheek of it. 2 other ladies, behind me, said that it was my 50p and they hadn’t heard another one drop. I couldn’t face a confrontation over it - never feel my most assertive whilst wearing only a swimsuit and 50p doesn’t seem worth getting worked up about. Luckily, I had another 50p because one week, ages ago, I put in one coin and got two out!! Keep them in my swim bag, so I don’t have to faff about getting change. Puts new 50p in locker. It won’t lock! Moves all sh*t into another locker, that one of the kind ladies said they’d just used successfully, 50p swallowed up. Locker won’t lock. ARGGHHHHH! I only want a nice stress relieving swim! Decide to just shut locker and go and swim. Try not to think about the thieving cow helping herself to the rest of my belongings from the unlocked locker. Everything still there though when I got out of the pool - and the locker decided to let me have my 50p back, so it all came good in the end!

HMI visit seems to have gone well. 8:20am meeting tomorrow so we can get the detailed feedback. I don’t think we’ll be doing much work somehow! Then it’ll be the weekend and payday! Yey! Had payslip already: new salary about 20% less than previous, but we’ll still manage and I’m so much less stressed. It’ll make me get used to spending less before I retire and have to survive on 2 peanuts a week pension!!

You posted while I was typing, FF!

Oh my does the woman just think that 50 pences just appear from nowhere?? The “locker fairy” perhaps??

What is/was wrong with her?? grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

If you had your orange flipper shoes on you would have had lots of confidence:smileyhappy:!

Am on the “get a move on and get things done” bench, just having a little break on the “CBA” bench, till muggatea is finished, may take an hour or so…

We have sunshine, woo hoo, feels like summer xx

I’ve lost my way… I can’t find the CBA bench, the reading bench or the just having a quiet cup of tea bench!  Seriously I didn’t realise how unsuited my house is to having a kitten.  Unless I shut her in the conservatory it’s access all downstairs areas . I’ve managed to find a way to stop her going upstairs ( and she’s about to walk over the keyboard again. NO Purdie!)

50p?  I’m sure if you’d known she was that hard up you would have given her the 50p. Really, some people are hard to fathom

Lucky you with the sunshine, just grey clouds and rain here and still wishing I’d bought a washer/drier, re-washed some of last weeks washing as it didnt get dry and was smelling a little musty.

Seven times I’ve shifted Purdie from the worktop/ the curtains/the piano in the 10 minutes it’s taken me to type this.  I’m on the Purdie bench and make that eleven times now!

You have more patience than me, FF! I think I’d have throttled her by now!

Went to make those banana biscuits today, but I left it too late: when I tried to pick up the banana I put my hand straight through it, it was so overripe! Ewww! Yuk! I’ve never seen a banana that far gone before! When I finally stopped squirming, I adapted the recipe and used apples instead of the banana and cinnamon in place of the coconut. Outcome was completely delicious, so I have expanded my baking repertoire!! Struggled not to eat them all in one sitting!

Went for a quick visit to local town to pick up some bird food and some wool. Had lunch in a café. Managed to get back to the car not long after it started to rain. Luckily, I brought the washing  a in before we left, as in the couple of  sunny, breezy hours between showers had dried ,all the towels & undies I put out. Rest of washing on the airer still. I may get it out tomorrow  between showers. Who knows?

Spent the rest of the day (apart from aforementioned baking) on the craft bench. Have knitted a Christmas tree decoration santa and started his friend Mr Snowman. Better get a move on if I’m going to have enough stuff to sell at the school Fair. Marmaduke is rather making himself at home on my window sill and I’m becoming quite attached to him. He makes me smile every time I come into the room! Probably should put him away in the drawer with the other creatures before he becomes a permanent feature?!

On the jittery bench. Just had a bit of a melt down. Dreading THE VAN tomorrow. I know it’s stupid. I know I was “Normal” 6 months ago with no reason to suspect I’m anything else now but… can’t stop reliving what happened after last time I went there. You’d think the breast clinic at the hospital would be the place I fear as that was where I got the DX. The first time I went back there it was pretty scary, but I suppose I’ve been enough times now to be ok with it. Hopefully, after tomorrow, I’ll get over this irrational dread of the van too?

OH offered to come with me, but he’ll probably just make it worse! Can’t tell him that tho’ as he’s trying to help!

Mondays are so hectic at school that I won’t have time to think about it, which is just as well.

Oooh you are being extremely crafty and bake-y JCJ, keep the monkey especially if he makes you smile:smileyhappy:

And FF, where are you?? Where is Purdie?? Are you both hiding now? Who is hiding from who?? hee hee

Got off the “CBA” bench yesterday and managed to do the all the things that were needing done, done!

So that has made today a lot quieter and have really enjoyed it:smileyhappy:

We have had horrible rain and it is sooooooooooo cold, in fact teeth chatteringly freezing, brrrrrrrrrr.

Have been trying to organise calendar for upcoming GC days, am getting all confused who is here and when so am giving up till head feels clearer…

Off for my muggachoc to another “posh” place tomorrow, am sooooooooo decadent on Mondays hee hee.

No more crazy choking and eye thing is getting smaller if it would only shrivel would be sooooooooo pleased.

Update shaky head it’s def something to do with looking down, YD keeps saying “you’re doing it now Mum” she is quite small and I look down when I’m talking to her haha. xx

JCJ, try not to feel too nervous, it is a big thing but it is only a couple of mins, another hurdle crossed, everyone is so kind on the van, you will be fine, deep breaths and fingers crossed for good and speedy results, big hugs xx

JCJ - I SO get your irrational fear of the VAN as It was the cause of my bc too.  But we must realise that it actually was the cause of our survival.  Not of the bc!  That will not stop me having the same irrational fear when my turn comes.

I m also certain that you would never throttle a kitten, however much the provocation.  I woke up this morning to a rather obviously poorly Purdie.  I am a Responsible Pet Owner, I took her to the vet, it’s Sunday, out of hours, it costs a fortune .  Ninety five pounds later, she’s got a sickness bug, had an injection, she has slept for most of the day but is more like her normal self now  It’s a good job I can afford the cost but I must get some pet insurance in place! And the cost was well worth it for my peace of mind, I am totally in love with this kitten!

Smallest GD has a cold/ sore throat bug so I won’t be seeing her or Daughter for a while.  Son and family were over today and GC were disappointed that Purdie was to be left alone but crisps and sweets were on offer and a thorough warning that anyone who disturbed Purdie would face the the wrath of Nanny.

'tis done. And of course it was fine. Receptionist a bit short with me - she thought it was too soon after my last follow up one! I told her I’d thought that too but been told it was 7 months and therefore fine.

If anything this mammo was less painful than previous ones. Not painless by any means, but not quite so tear-inducing, toe-curlingly ouchy! Now ‘just’ the 2 to 3 week wait for results. Must stop reliving that recall letter now!

Poor poorly puky Perdue. I hope she’s better now. Get that insurance sorted ASAP!!

Have you sorted out your babysitting timetable yet, KTC? Do you know where you are? Or who you are? Or who’s coming? Hehehe

Right. Going to treat myself with an apple biscuit and a mugatea. I’ve earned it. Don’t care if it does spoil my dinner!

Woo hoo scooby/booby doo it’s over JCJ:smileyhappy:

So glad you went and “did” it, funnily enough, I thought it was much less painful than the hospital…

You enjoy your treat and big hug from me xx

Oh FF, what a price?? The quicker you have pet ins the better!

Glad Purdie is fine, poor wee thing.

Went into town bought some “at home” clothes, comfy trousers and baggy warm tops, been really good and have thrown out the ones I have been wearing, no more “well, maybe I will wear that”, they are gone, woo hoo!

Eaten tea and when dishes are done a muggatea and choc chunk flapjack is order of the day xx

The Boss (aka Purdie) is asleep.  My house looks as if a bomb’s hit it.  All the kitty toys and all the books jammed under the sofas to stop Purdie getting under them.  She’s fully recovered but when do I get the time to arrange insurance?  Ok I could be doing it now, but I’d rather be in Benchland!

Son has told me to get a water squirty bottle and to squirt her with water everytime she does something not acceptable.  I’ll get one tomorrow :smileyhappy:

Well done JCJ, glad it was less painful.  Bet the snotty receptionist has never been where we have!

Comfy trousers and baggy warm tops sound really good, Katy. I need some of those too.  I might have to go shopping…I hate clothes shopping!

Off to research pet insurance…
