Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Also here for you, Katy.  Even more hugs. xx

Aaaaaaah thank you sooooooooo much, saw comments last night and burst into tears AGAIN, so am back today cause my head is a lot clearer. Trying very hard not to look too concerned to ED, what she is being tested for is worst case scenario, if it isn’t that, which sincerely hope it’s not, it is still something that needs investigation, because something is wrong:smileysad:. Keep all fingers and toes crossed please.

Well, yesterday was a bad day, spoke to Mum and she said she had fallen out of the bed, she was ok, just had given herself a fright…

Went to Pain Consultant and asked him about my shaky head and he did some tests with me, didn’t do well, arm and hand also trembling uncontrollably he said he would write to neurology and ask them to speed up waiting time, asked him if it was “to do” with other things back etc and he said no…

Funny thing is neurology is next door to the clinic.

So ED and I might be there at the same time hahaha…

Today has been a lot better, ED has had some fab feedback from college which has boosted her confidence no end, hurrah!! xx

I just wish I could be there and make you a cup of tea (with a wee dram in it!) and give you a big hug.

Maybe your shaky head and trembling today has something to do with the stress you are now under?  Well done to your ED for her feedback from college.

My fingers and toes are not merely crossed, they are knotted!  PM, text, call me if you want to.

I’ve now had Purdie for six weeks and we seem to be settling into a routine.  I know when I have to play and keep watch and also when I can settle on the reading bench.

Put the humidifier on tonight, having the heating on dries out the air and that doesn’t suit me.  Purdie very interested in the blue light it emits.

Hang in there, KTC. Try not to panic. Finding out what the problem is is the first step towards getting some treatment. Most conditions can be controlled - even the “worst case scenario” ones!

I’m here too if you want to chat - can just about manage my phone/tablet with all my fingers crossed!! Glad your ED having some good things happening in her life, at college, too!

My car goes in for its annual service & MOT tomorrow, so if you have anything not already crossed, cross something for “Uncle Fester” passing without too much expense! It’ll be just my luck if it fails catastrophically and needs replacing now that I’m earning less! :expressionless: I’m going to stay in town - breakfast in café, possibly a haircut - if I can brave THOSE mirrors - and maybe a trawl of the charity shops. Or I may just stay in the café with my kindle (other…)

Another 1800m swum tonight. Only 7 miles left. It’s a pity I’ve never been to Guernsey as I can’t visualise (as I could for the Channel & Loch Ness swims) the finishing point - even though it’s a circular route and I alledgedly set out from the finishing point!! :stuck_out_tongue:

6 weeks with Purdie?!! Where did that time go?

In answer to my last question: mostly chasing cats up curtains??!

I don’t chase her up the curtains, I rescue her from the top of the curtains!

Good luck to your car for it’s MOT!

Also having trouble typing with fingers crossed, haha.

Hope all goes well with Fester.

Go and visit “that mirror” then spoil yourself in cafe, with an yummy cake:smileyhappy:

Oh my, curtain chasing, swinging on curtain, abseilng from curtain…six weeks of Purdie fun hee hee.

What is she like???

Have GS just now he is mesmorized by a cartoon, then into town later, didn’t manage to get to Mum’s (she wasn’t expecting me) so will have to get up today with her Fri treats, hopefully there will be some left by the time I get there.

Will pm you tonight or tomorrow depending on when I arrive home, thank you for your support as always, hugs to us all xx

Can’t quite believe it! Still reeling in shock (or should that be surprise? Pleasant surprise!) Uncle Fester sailed through the MOT! Again. Not even a single advisory!! £160 and sorted for another year. That’s SOOO much better than I expected/feared! ES definitely did a good job when he picked out that car for me 8 (?) years ago.

While UF was at the garage, I went for double poached egg on toast and a pot of tea at the café, followed by a mug of coffee. Would have had the full breakfast, but I’ve already had 2 this week, at Traveldodge, Norwich, so I didn’t fancy it. Faffed about on my phone and an hour soon passed. Then I braved THE mirror and got the tresses tidied. Hairdresser said “WOW! There’s a lot of it!” Which made me feel better about the fact that’s it’s STILL thinning horribly. Carpets at home are all covered in long silver (yes, definitely “silver” not “grey”!! :p) hairs. By which time, it was time to walk back and collect the car. Lovely sunny, autumn day today, so the walk was beautiful. Will probably go in the garden, when the bara brith, which I’ve just put in the oven, is cooked, and do some tidying.

Mincemeat is marinating, to be bottled tomorrow. I’m ticking things off my to do list at such a rate of notts (nots? knots? knott’s? Who knows? Or cares?) that I shall need a lie down!!

Enjoy GS, KTC; a good distraction. I hope you don’t have to rescue HIM from up the curtains… or anywhere else for that matter! xx

What’s a bara brith???

Good old Uncle Fester, so well behaved:smileyhappy:!

Woo hoo for son’s choice!!

Did you have a wonderful time with the girls?? am sooooooooo sorry didn’t ask sooner:smileysad:

Managed town wasn’t in too long, up to Mums, her arms are covered in bruises from her fall, which she didn’t mention at all on phone, grrrrrrrrrrrr. Asked her if she had done her shopping list, was going to order online but she really didn’t have that much soooooo surprised her by going to supermarket and delivering around 1/2 an hour later, thank goodness for the lido. Have discovered she’s not bothering cooking and just living off the treats I bring up and sandwiches so gave her a row and included some tasty ready meals in her shopping.

She says am not really that hungry but when I was in she had toast and cheese and a pie, so she is hungry but can’t be bothered cooking, so ready meals all the way:smileyhappy:

Have you climbed down from the curtains FF??? xx

Bara brith is a Welsh delicacy - literally “fruit bread”. It’s a cake made with dried fruit soaked in tea and is served sliced with butter. It’s delicious! I’ll put some in the shed.

Congratulations to Uncle Fester for another flawless performance.

Katy, it’s not ME that is up the curtains!

Purdie has now developed a fixation on the kitchen sink.  I caught her drinking the water that was in the cup I left to soak.  This has the side effect that I now have to wash up more often.  I tried putting the tap on to scare her away, which it did, but she was soon back.

Out of the way, I’m getting to the shed first!

Yes, it was lovely to see the girls. Forgot to answer you, KTC! We had a lovely catch up. Wish they weren’t 3 hours away so we could see them more often!

I saw this fabulous thing and it made me laugh out loud so I thought I’d share it for those in need of cheering up. It reminded me of previous Benchland antics.

Just for you: A Pair of Boobies!!

IMG_20171027_124536.jpg

Methinks we are gorgeous JCJ:smileyhappy: hahahaha.

Glad you had a fab time JCJ, even if you don’t see them every day, great times when you do!

Be honest FF, think you are trying new tricks, head spinning a bit blase for you now??? You want to wow us in Norcambe with your curtain swinging, climbing and abseiling feats…xx

No, I keep saying , it’s not ME up the curtains!  Although now you mention it, maybe I could take lessons from Purdie and practice but I think I might be a little too heavy.  Do you know of anyone that reinforces curtain poles?

I’m sooooo glad I got her, don’t quite know how I’ve lived without a cat for so long.  She brings playful times, laughter, lovely fluffy cuddles and…complete disruption to my previously quiet life! What with trying to stop her chewing electric cables, fetching her down from the curtains or out from under the settee, it’s a full time job making sure she comes to no harm. All my favouite ornaments are out of reach. Cooking on the hob is now extremely dangerous, I need eyes everywhere.

My dining chairs are all wearing pillowcases over their backs to stop her falling through the slats as she nearly broke a leg when she did fall through.  Books (it’s a good job I’ve got a lot of books) are stuffed under the settees to block access.

But I’ve had a breakthrough this week, if I rattle the bag of Kitty treats and call her name when I can’t find her…she comes running!  If she’s not stuck under the settee!!

Caught her eyeing up the mantlepiece tonight, she’s still too small to get up there but she’s growing apace.

Need to pop into school tomorrow just to make sure all is ok.  I have a couple of jobs still to do and from what I saw on Friday I think at least one teacher will have been in today, so I’ll just check all is ready for  Monday morning.

Thanks for the pic JCJ, does indeed bring back memories.

Who’s coming for dinner this week? Roast pork, roasties, roast parsnip, cabbage, creamed leeks, carrots, peas and gravy with spotted dick (accompanied by obligatory sniggers) and custard. I’ve laid a table in the shed. There’s wine.

We had a very rare takeaway last night - first time in 2 years I think (apart from Friday chippies - but they hardly count! :p) It was a necessity, not a luxury, because we were running out of the reusable microwaveable plastic pots with lids that I use for freezing portions of stews, lasagne etc and for microwaving frozen veggies. I had butter chicken and both fried and boiled rice. Nom nom nom! There was some left for lunch today too!

Not dreading returning to work tomorrow half as much as usual. Definitely glad I demoted myself.

Just check all is ready for tomorrow at school did I say?  Do a thorough clean was more like it!  However all is now ready for tomorrow’s return.  So it’s back to the usual routine.

Glad you are not dreading it JCJ, just proves your decision was the right one.

Son and family over today, Purdie not so timid this time and played with them for a while.

Just heard that Daughter and family have safely returned from their holiday, perhaps she’ll pop in tomorrow, haven’t seen her for a whole week!

Definitely on my way for dinner but no parsnips for me please, can’t abide the things.  No wine either as I’ll be driving the broomstick.

I was there and munched and munched, lovely.

You are allowed to treat yourself JCJ, I seem to follow (treating myself) quite happily without guilt hahaha!!

Nice feeling not to have the dreaded fear of going into work, woo hoo.

Good you managed all tidying FF, fingers crossed it’s still reasonably tidy when you go back.

Glad Purdie and family are playing, did you show them your new skills or are you waiting till whole family is  together??

Have GS more this week as daughter is on placement, so wild times ahead, well for the next two weeks.

Out for my muggachoc today, we have decided we are going to the “posh” place because the old place is supremely busy and there are always queues now…hate queueing with a passion…

Have already been to supermarket and will pop into town later, am doing everything today so I am free for the rest of the week and tomorrow can be a rest day, woo hoo!

It’s very cold here this morning and it’s just started to rain, yuck!!!

Anyone found any marbles?? forgot about clock change yesterday, first time ever…though before 9 really 10, house was tidied, beds stripped and me showered, is it a record?? xx

No new skills are happening. you’ll just have to put up with me spinning on my head.  Purdie was doing her best to teach me but  when she jumped up the curtain today she fell and hit her head on the window sill, so we’ve abandoned all attempts. She’s agreed to be just a kitten, not a teacher.  Jeez, I was worried, she just fell backwards from about seven feet and hit her head on the way down.  I could practically see the little stars around her head!

She’s fine now, thank goodness, but how much trouble can a kitten get into?. Everything is dangerous!

School clean and tidy, four teachers and many children today made less mess than one teacher on a Saturday? Seems so.

Daughter super busy today but coming over tomorrow. Yay, I’ve missed her.

Lovely sunny day today, stayed in until time to go school, was all set to leave without a coat but took one in case and oh it was needed, really chilly when I left school.  And DARK!. Torch needed now until Feb. half term.

Yikes, ouchy ouch, poor Purdie:smileysad:

Glad school was fine for you whew!

Should have done odd jobs today but the “CBA” bench was calling me…so have sat there, reasonably happy all day, bad moi…

ED sent a pic of GD, oh my think her Halloween face is horrific, blood, gore etc it’s awful, not the little princess any longer hahaha. GS watched for a little while but was bored, can’t believe he wasn’t frightened, I am.

Laughed hysterically at GS, small piece of fluff on the floor, pretended it was a spider and blew it every time he tried to touch it, he was mesmorized and kept laughing every time it moved, we were there for about half an hour, who needs toys???

Also was laughing yesterday, told friend about my “tests” and we ended up in fits of laughter, then she says “it’s not funny really” then off the laughing started again. xx

Popped into the vets today as I needed advice on worming Purdie.  So take a pill, crush it up in her food, that won’t work she’s on dry food which is always available and she eats when she feels like it and leaves anything that smells a bit off. OR… do like the vets do open her jaws and shove the pill down her throat,  I’ve tried but I’ve never mastered that art.  OR …there’s a treatment that you apply to the skin on the back of the neck. Hooray!  Let’s do that!  I’ve done it before with the dog. Easy.

No… not easy… the dog sat still, Purdie did not.  How much of the medicine ended up on her skin and how much on her fur is guesswork.  I waited until she was occupied with eating (receptionists tip) .Her fur reacted as the leaflet said it might so I hope enough of the medicine has reached the right place.

Glad you had a good laugh with your friend Katy, I still think your test results were influenced by stress about your daughter. Toys are never needed, a good imagination is…fluff can be anything.

School tonight?  When painting a cardboard fire engine just how much red paint can you get on the floor?  Answer…an awful lot!
