Oh gosh JCJ, imagine the difference 81 pence could make???
Think of all the extras you could acquire, exciting or what??
Mmmm the choices are endless:smileyhappy:
Busy, busy swim, well done you!
How is the new “meal” doing?
Good you have your new machine up and running FF.
ED maybe changing her phone in the next few months and I will be given her old one, hurrah, will def need help with that haha. My one which was her old one keeps switching itself off, very annoying, grrrrrrrr.
Really hard to motivate myself this morning, keep having another muggatea…
It’s miserable here, raining and cold.
Will get moving soon if I can “get off” the “CBA” bench it’s near the “bad behaviour” bench xx
Just back from nearest city. Went to see the Ballet: Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella. I agreed to go and booked tickets at Christmas, because OH wanted to. I thought “Cinderella. I know that story so at least I’ll understand what’s going on.” It was set in WW2! WHAT??! It was good though, if a bit long. We had a meal in a pub opposite the theatre afterwards - it was quiet when we went in but was packed out within 5 minutes with people, like us, going in after the matinee and also people dining before the evening performance. The food was lovely, if a wee bit expensive (still a lot cheaper than Madlands afternoon tea!) but it was really noisy.
Soooo glad to be back home away from all the noise and crowds. The older I get the more I struggle with people en masse!
TV on. Mugatea. Catching up on some Winter Olympics.
Cinderella in WW2, well that’s different I suppose. The day I go to the ballet…will never happen unless there’s a gun to my head!
Been playing around with the tablet, still don’t know what I’m doing but persevering. Have got a book to read “Andriod tablets…One step at a time”. Hopefully that will help. About the only thing I am having some luck with is the camera (many photos of Purdie) and tonight after reading he book …have sort of learned how to edit pictures. One Impressionistic picture of Purdie later…weird but I like it.
Got onto benchland last week with the tablet, tonight I couldn’t, so still things to learn.
Wood for the Catio is being delivered on Tuesday, so things are moving along there. No cat in her right mind would have wanted to go out this week. The two that normally reside in my garden have been nowhere to be seen for the last few weeks, so they’re obviously staying indoors!
No wouldn’t have been too excited either, but meal out afterwards sounds good:smileyhappy:
Speaking of meals, what’s for dinner tonight please?
Tablet almost working and catio almost being built, you are on a roll FF:smileyhappy:!!
Went into town, never in on a Sun but my vase finally arrived and had to pick up another order, strolled around, bought new lipstick, perfume, underwear and a few t shirts for wearing under jumpers, was well pleased.:smileyhappy:
Also have new/old phone, hurrah, love it, ED popped in yesterday and gave me a quick run down of how to get my own apps back etc, it’s brilliant:smileyhappy: xx
Dinner is: roast beef; Yorkshire pudding; roasties; braised carrots, parsnips, swede and onion; cauliflower in mustard vinaigrette dressing; peas and gravy, followed by homemade apple pie and ice cream and/or frozen yoghurt. Help yourselves.
It’s been trying to snow on and off all day here, today, so I’ve not ventured out further than the bird feeders and the bins. Nothing has settled but it’s forecast to be a cold night. Will probably be deploying the windscreen scraper again in the morning!
Just looked out of the bedroom window. White over! Oh no! Hope it’s gone by morning, at least on the roads.
Bought the train tickets for Norwich next week. OH may be going to visit his brother, in London, straight from Norwich, so I was going to get him a single rail ticket and me a return. His single (with senior railcard) was only 85p cheaper than return! May as well get a return because he may come home anyway, and it’d be painful to pay another £50 if he does!
Oooh yummy yummy love roast beef, thank you:smileyhappy:
No snow here, YET?? It’s very cold and supposed to snow this evening, hope you managed ok this morning JCJ.
Crazy prices for trains, how can a single be 85p cheaper, always better to buy a return, feel as though you are getting your money’s worth then…
Had my first muggachoc of the year, hurrah!! Went into a shop nearby and they were selling 3 creme eggs for a £1, bargain or what? so they managed to make their way into my basket, shock horror, how will I manage to eat 3?? Easily methinks haha.
Forgot to say, saw you on your tin tray yesterday morning FF, you did amazingly well, into the finals for you.
Was it my imagination or was there a Purdie on your tummy? xx
No, no I wouldn’t do that to Pudie but there was a photo of her on my lycra suit!! I’m in the final, yay!
Talking of Purdie, she is in for a shock at the end of the week. Supermarket has discontinued the ONLY kitten food she will eat. I’ve never been happy that she will only eat one kind of food and have tried to get her to eat others. I’ve wasted a fortune on wet food, dried food, in all different flavours and price ranges. I’ve also tried her with chicken, tuna, meat or anything that I’m eating that won’t harm her. Today I had a cream cake and offered her cream, she sniffed it and turned away, I sort of… very gently… lost the plot… and shoved her nose into it…she licked it off her face and turned away again when I offered more…what cat won’t eat cream!!!
However I’ve never starved her to get her to eat other things. I foresee a hungry kitten at the end of the week when the food runs out. I’m going to try mixing in another brand of the same flavour during the week. However, I’m sure she won’t starve herself to death! If anyone has any bright ideas, I’m all ears…
Meant to go to school today but it’s been so cold and the reading and watching Olympics benches were so warm and cosy. Can’t go tomorrow as I have to wait in for the wood delivery. So Weds. and Thurs. will be schooldays this week.
So our half terms are different again then, FF? We’re off next week.
Had to cover for after school club again today and will do it Wednesday and possibly Thurs & Fri too. That’ll bring in some pennies!
Watching loads of recorded Winter Olympics. I’ve found my sport: snowboard half pipe. Apparently, backside air is a good thing. I can do that! Frequently. Especially if I’ve had a big meal!!
My late MIL had a cat that wasn’t particularly fussy until a neighbour looked after it for a few days and bought Whiskers for her. She wouldn’t eat anything else after that. MIL was furious - couldn’t/wouldn’t afford to buy Whiskers. Cat tried to move in with the neighbour - but, fortunately they wouldn’t let it! We said that particular catfood must have something addictive in it!
So when do you break up for Easter? Are you having a very short term or one of those long weekend affairs for Easter and then the 2 weeks holiday later? We break up on the 29th March for two weeks.
Catio wood arrived this morning about 11am so I didn’t have to stay in for too long and had the rest of the day to go to Library, do various other jobs and then came home and sat on the Olympics bench again.
Have also been watching the snowboarding half pipe and you were fantastic JCJ. I agree the backside air is something we can all do. Actually all I think is why on earth do people do something that dangerous for sport!
We have half term next week, then 4 weeks and 4 days until we break up for Easter on 29th - Maundy Thursday - the first Monday after half term is a training day though, so I suppose it’s actually 4 weeks and 3 days?
Not watched any Olympics tonight. Work then supermarket shop, dinner in café, home to put it all away and then I’ve been on the reading bench all evening. Headache. Needed quiet. Feel a bit ****. Probably just exhausted from all my exertions in the half pipe yesterday - or I’m fighting off the Lurg that’s going around school AGAIN!
Saw the half pipe today, you did really well JCJ, must have been wind propelling you hahaha:smileyhappy:
Have laughed and laughed, hope you are better today.
Everyone seems to have cough and cold symptoms again here. Been fantastically cold today and lots of snow at one point but it’s all gone now, so glad I was at home all day.
Have been faffing around, nice to be peaceful, wrapped GC presents, both birthdays soon, no parties this year, they are off to another city to have some fun.
We are “glooping” it tomorrow, can just imagine???
This is the next faze, everyone is making according to GD…
Mum has improved massively, back to her normal self, thank goodness, amazing one small pill can completely floor you, scary.
I’m so glad that Mum is back to herself. I can imagine your relief, yes it is very scary that something we are prescribed can be actually so bad for us.
Catio will not be built this weekend. Unfortunately all the family is now on SW England time. This means nothing gets done for weeks. Planning and getting round to it takes a long long time down here. It used to drive me insane when we first moved down here. I was used to just “getting it done”. I remember being aghast because a workman wouldn’t come out to give an estimate because it was skittles night…but I’ve become infected …we’ll get there in the end. In fact Easter weekend might be a good time to do it, when Son and SIL get time off.
I went out yesterday and bought two different kitten foods… Mixed one in Purdie’s usual food this am. She ate all of her usual food and left all the new one. Epic fail there. Tonight I mixed in the other one…YAY RESULT…she dived in and pretty much ate all the new one first :smileysurprised: I seem to have finally found a new food she will eat and before she needs to go hungry. I was amazed and delighted. Of course it’s three times the cost of the discontinued one :smileysad:
Rained heavily all day here, I went to school and the lanes were awash to the point where I wondered whether to turn back but I went on got the work done and it wasn’t any worse on the way home but plenty of local routes are flooded.
I’m guessing “glooping it” is making slime or silly putty or whatever else you want to call it. Revolting stuff that’s all the rage with the kids. They maul it about until it gets so sticky it welds to everything! Enjoy, Katy!
After School Wrap Around Care again tonight. Kids were lovely and a colleague stayed to help so that I wouldn’t be the only adult in the building (all teachers at staff meeting at another school) so the time didn’t drag so much.
Yey! That mum is so much better, Katy. Yay! Kitten food success, FF! Celebrations all round.
Two more get ups. Should be in bed now but OH listening to “shrieking cats” (opera) downstairs - he *thinks* it’s on quietly! I expect it won’t be on much longer. *Tries extra hard to pretend to be super tolerant?!*
It would be most expensive FF, never goes the other way haha!
Would imagine no one is in a hurry to build at this time of year, def hang off till weather is more reasonable.
Glad all was fine JCJ, you must get some ear plugs haha.
You were right with the glooping, all went very well (one bowl for GD and one for GS) we eventually managed to acquire right consistency, GD loved it but GS was not sure, he didn’t really like the feeling so we added more flour and it turned into a type of play dough, he loved that!!
They played for ages with it:smileyhappy:
Kitchen was like a bomb had hit it, got worst bits off then hoovered after they left so all **bleep** and span now, hurrah.
Curry for tea tonight, yum yum if I can leave “CBA” bench, tummy is beginning to rumble xx
Good job am typing, my mouth is full of soap!!
Ok day today, went into town to pick up new cushions they came in 4 separate bags so not heavy but def cumbersome. Ended up having to go home before supermarket visit which was annoying wanted it all done at once.
You will be proud of me no eggs fell into my basket today, hurrah, only reason it’'s takeaway night so it would be too self indulgent methinks, now sitting on the “FB” bench xx
Lots to do today to be ready to go to Norwich tomorrow, but I’ll probably not stray far from the Olympics bench. Spent most of the day on it yesterday. Hours and hours of recorded stuff to catch up on! I need a rest after my busy week last week - that’s my excuse anyway!
All this sliding, jumping, twisting, twirling and sweeping has exhausted me. I’m cream crackered!
Dinner is roast gammon, roasties, smashed roots, crispy kale, green beans and parsley sauce, followed by apple strudel (supermarket finest, I’m afraid - didn’t want any leftovers!) and frozen yogurt/ice cream) washed down with red wine mixed with tonic water - a delicious beverage that I *have* to drink because it’s medicinal! (and it makes both the wine and the tonic water so much more drinkable! Win. Win!)
