Ooh yum, yum JCJ thank you thought you would be soo busy we would have no dinner tonight!!
Have a fabulous time with your girls x
Have been very quiet today been great haha xx
Thank you for a lovely dinner JCJ. I echo Katyâs wishes for you to have a lovely time with your girls.
Â
Family over today, we have earmarked Sat. March 10th for the start of the catio build. It was going to be the whole weekend but then someone piped up that Sunday 11th is Mothers day so that put the kibosh on working that day!. Son and SIL then reckoned they could get it done in one dayâŠhmmmâŠnot so sureâŠ
Â
Family meal out next weekend for GSâs birthday. Iâm not sure that she will enjoy it as much as we adults will. Her actual birthday is the Monday and that makes it difficult to get together as everyone is working! Iâve been asked to get a silvery/grey fleecy throw for her bed. Iâll do my best to find one.
Â
Â
The catio build is on, woo hoo!!!
YD bought one from D*******s, FF if thatâs any help, itâs lovely.
Went to other town today to meet with RevCat, she sends best wishes to the benchies. Had a yummy lunch, usual place, no wandering and getting lost this time, hurrah, we have given shopping centre a miss the last couple of timesâŠmakes things a lot easier.
Am on the âCBAâ bench now, haha!
Hope you are having fun JCJ xx
Â
Uneventful train journey apart from an annoying woman on her phone for aaages. She seemed to think that plugging headphones in meant we couldnât hear her side of the conversation either! Soo irritating!
YD came to pick us up from near the hotel (sister to Norecambe residence!) and took us back to theirs. Sheâs been working from home today and cooked us pulled pork, mash, smashed roots and peas in a delicious sauce. Yum.
We got a taxi back to TL because we all had wine with dinner - didnât want YD to miss out because she had to drive us back.
Donât know what weâre doing tomorrow, as the weather forecast is c***. Weâll meet up after weâve had our âunlimitedâ breakfast!
Think I was that annoying woman JCJ, GD phoned me as soon as I hopped on the train, there was only one person beside me who did have head phones on and I was trying to talk as quietly as possibleâŠ
Dinner sounds yummy, when do you return back home and is OH coming with you?
Â
Did go into town today but really wasnât in the mood so quick dash around, saw Motherâs Day adverts and went into card shop bought card then saw they had some nice gifts so ended up buying them too! So have beaten the rush, shop was oh so quiet, donât like when shops are âtoo busyâ.
Have been on the âwhy am I sooooooo tired???â bench canât seem to rid myself of that feeling despite sleeping very well, need a good shake haha xx
Poured with rain and very cold all day so YD picked us up from near TL and took us back to her house for coffee so we could see her garden improvements in daylight. Then we went to an amazing garden centre for a potter around inside out of the cold and wet. Had a light lunch there and then visited the other shops on the site. YD got fruit & veg from farm shop. I got some card making stuff from a humongous art & craft shop. Could have bought loads. Had to keep reminding myself that Iâm travelling by train with 1 small suitcase!
Back to house for mugatea and then we came back into the city to meet DIL (she had to work today) and have dinner in a well known chain restaurant: It has a B and an F in its name but not necessarily in that order! I had delicious carbonara followed by mini chocolate fudge cake and coffee. Quick walk along by the river - very quick, it was COLD! and weâve come back to the hotel and let the girls go home as they have work tomorrow.
Iâm going home tomorrow, OH going to London to see his brother. Iâll enjoy the peace but thereâs loads I should be doing - probably spend most of the time on the Olympics bench thoâ!
YD has been applying for jobs recently because her job has relocated and she can no longer walk to work - which was one of her priorities for getting that job in the first place Tonight, while we were at her house, she had a phone call with an offer of a new job, in the city, that she can walk to, on a higher salary, but sheâs unsure whether to take it. She may use it as a bargaining tool with current employer to get them to pay her more so she can afford a 2nd car. (DIL needs their car for work) Sheâs nervous about losing some aspects of her current position and worried about some of the new jobâs responsibilities.
YD says sheâs coming to visit us for Motherâs day, so thatâs only a few weeks.
Hurrah for daughter visiting something to look forward to:smileyhappy:!
Always daunting job offers, if she can use as a bargaining tool that would be great, fingers crossed.
Â
Quiet today, found out that my Mother has not been taking her new tablets, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, thought she looked a little out of sorts yesterday thatâs obviously whyâŠso she said she will faithfully restart from this evening. Though she is very happy to swallow other tabs that give her different unpleasant side effects, honestly??? Really??? Am on the âsilently screamingâ bench haha.
ED has her neurology appt, hurrah, she had a phone call asking if she would be willing to travel to another city because the waiting list is enormous here, she said she would. Hopefully find out whatâs what soon.
It was actually warmer outside than inside today, sun was quite warm, have seen lots of warnings for coming week hopefully pass us by xx
Â
I hope your YD sorts her job situation out soon, a bargaining tool is always good. New responsibilities are always a bit daunting at first but recede very soon once you get into it.
Â
Today I have had to go on a course to learn how to do my job properly. After nine years you would think I know how how to do it! But apparently I didnât and now three hours later, I do! What a waste of timeâŠbut three hours overtime pay is always useful and there was cake⊠.:smileyhappy:
Â
Lovely warm sunny, almost spring like day today but the forecast is grim. Supposed to be be getting colder and colder as the week goes on. Â
Â
I shall sit on the Olympics bench and ignore the weather as itâs not as cold here as it is there!
Text from YD. Job dilemma solved. Current job has beaten the new offer, starting from April. She has got it in writing - sheâs no fool! This means she can start looking for a car. It has also made her realise that her current employers appreciate her more than she thought. She doesnât have to take on a job that includes roles she doesnât enjoy, tasks sheâs glad other people do where she works now. All good.
Â
GO GB men curlers. You can do this!!
That is sooooooooo good JCJ:smileyhappy:!!
Really pleased for her, a woo hoo moment indeed.
When is you OH coming back?
Are you swimming tonight?
Very gratifying to now know, that you DO know how to do your job FF, hurrah for the cake!
Did you receive a certificate??
Â
Am going to have to nip over to supermarket for milk, my dilemma is⊠I will be within walking distance of chippie (am sure this has happened before), what to do???
Honestly itâs soooooooo cold here I wouldnât leave house if it wasnât urgent xx
Itâs about time you had training to do your job, FF. Youâve been winging it for far too long. :p. Our school hall floor never gets ''buffed" anymore as nobodyâs been trained to use the machine (last caretaker did it for years and years with no training whatsoever of course!)
Â
OH coming back tomorrow. Heâs just texted me to get me to look up train times on tâinternet. Iâm still debating with myself about whether to go swimming. I know I should, but itâs tempting to enjoy having the house to myself. I had more or less decided not to bother going, KTC, but then you asked and made me feel guilty!
Â
Iâve not been completely lazy today though. I 'mealâed behind the beds, cleaned most of the windows - inside only, and cleaned the oven. I had to laugh at myself. Spent half the night and a lot of the day watching people throw themselves around on the ice, have horrific crashes landing in a tangled heap from a great height and then get up AND DO IT AGAIN. Then I couldnât get up off the floor after cleaning the oven! Epic fail?!
Â
Quite impressed with the âmealâ itâs so light and quiet and seemed to do a good job. The filters work well so it doesnât create the damp dog aroma that our other vac does.Â
Oh yeah, training so helpfulâŠput the duster in my right hand instead of the left, so much more efficient :smileyhappy: I put it all into practice tonight and when I left there was a kind of âglowâ over the school that Iâve never seen before:smileytongue: No certificate to prove my prowess though. Boo hoo!
Â
Went up to town this morning and thanked goodness that Iâd walked it and not been my usual lazy self and driven! Scaffolding up around a shop, for safetyâs sake temp. traffic lights have been put up and total gridlock has ensued. I will be avoiding town during the day for the next week or so.
Â
Great result for your YD, JCJ. She must be so relieved and so pleased to realise her employers think that much of her. Donât feel guilty about failing to get off the floor, you havenât been training for it for four years!
Â
Â
Oh no JCJ, honestly didnât want to make you feel guilty:smileysad:, hoping you didnât go and just enjoyed the peace and quiet at home.
Aaah ha FF, duster has been in the wrong hand for all of those nine years, what are you like???
Mad day here, GS running riot, YD had day off and was running riot with him, they all left and I ran into town before shops closed, whew.
Am about to sit/lie on the âfeet up and no moving until further noticeâ bench, every bone in my body is aching haha. xx
Â
Sooooooooo itâs definitely a definite definite haha!! xx
Definitely, definitely a definite definite. Â
Â
Out to dinner tomorrow to celebrate GDâs birthday, a good excuse for a family meal. She becomes a teenager tomorrow so a bit of a milestone.
Â
Quiet day today, just a trip to supermarket for a few essentials.
Definitely donât change your minds nowâŠIâve booked it.Â
Â
Â
Â
Was about to book but then realised I need to wait until pay day! Earning less but still spending just as much. Roll on Wednesday!
S** it! I booked it. Probably wonât go overdrawn, and if I do itâs not the end of the world. Got a prearranged overdraft I never use anyway! Nothing like living dangerously in the small hours when I canât sleep?! Some people burn money on gambling website in the middle of the night, I book cheap hotels! Hehehe
Itâs definitely, definitely, a definite, definite now cause am booked too hahaha:smileyhappy:!!
Worth being overdrawn forâŠ
Enjoy your meal out FF, Happy Birthday to GC who is hitting the teenage years:smileyhappy:
Mmmm that means I will have to eat your portion of dinner tonight at JCJâs.
Slurping a muggatea at the moment, sitting on the âcontemplatingâ bench, will start tidy up soon and have one thing to iron so busy day ahead haha.
EDâs appt next week, she is going on her own because OH is on standby (work) and if he is called out I will have kiddiewinks, YD is not here, it will be an assessment and if itâs clearcut she will have an idea if not would imagine an MRI scan is on the cards, asked her if we could go with kids only option but not really wise as 3 year old waiting for his Mum who has disappeared into a room prob wouldnât go wellâŠwhen they all came with me I could hear him shouting Nannie, NannieâŠvery loudlyâŠ
Beautiful morning, but bitterly cold, brrrrrrrrrrr.
Will need to refresh our checking out lunch/dinner places again xx
Â
Hope you had a good time with the family birthday celebrations, FF.
Â
Fingers still crossed for ED. Iâm glad her appointment has finally arrived, and I hope it brings solutions not more questions!
Â
Dinner is roast pork, apple sauce, roasties, roast parsnips, carrots, braised red cabbage with raisins, courgettes in garlic butter, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, followed by âpink stuffâ (which may be new to you. It is a family recipe that my mum used to make - and itâs passed on through the generations. YD makes it, and I know at least 2 of her cousins do too. It consists of a biscuit base topped with crushed raspberries (tinned or, today I used some from the freezer), a mousse made from raspberry jelly and condensed milk, with whipped cream piped on top. Very 70s. Delicious and simple to make.
Â
Back at work tomorrow but itâs a training day and I donât know which school weâre at or what weâre doing! Texted a colleague earlier to ask, but have had no reply. Will have to try someone else. Met Office amber warning for heavy snow on Tuesday morning so the kids might be getting a longer holiday?!
