A serious thought (for once??!) could your colourful feet be anything to do with the flight/air pressure? Is that a thing?
No it looks bashed haha!!
Have a lovely dinner with daughter JCJ:smileyhappy:
Will there be any leftovers? FF and I will just sit in the shed looking hungryā¦
Get where you are coming from so very peaceful compared to park.
Not up to much today just catching up with washing etc, pretty lazy day.
Still not sleeping well, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, taking really bad with thatā¦must be jet lag hahahaha!!! xx
Dinner is roast lamb, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, smashed roots, mash, cabbage, broccoli, gravy and mint sauce followed by apple & blackberry pie (home-made) and ice cream. YD has decided to stay here tonight and drive home tomorrow so sheās booked tomorrow off work too. Sheāll leave after Iāve gone to work in the morning (probably wonāt even get up 'til then!) Sheās washing up now āto pay for my board and lodgingā, much to her dadās delight - itās usually his (least favourite) job!
Ā
YD being here is keeping me off the jittery bench - most of the time - about Onc appointment tomorrow. Flaky skin problem reappeared again last week, but, of course, itās gone again now so thereās nothing to show her. Iāll definitely mention it though.
Ā
The rain dance is working! We have a few clouds!! No rain forecast for the next week but there are clouds!!
Ā
Proper green tennis starts tomorrow - thatās where Iāll be for the next 2 weeks! Yey!
I knew it was some time this week JCJ, fingers and toes are crossed. Remember and mention about skin. Am glad your daughter is there with you hugs xx
Great bbq with Son and family yesterday. Today I stayed in the shed with Katy looking hungry and a wonderful dinner appeared , thank you JCJ.Ā
Ā
Fingers crossed for your onc appt tomorrow.
Ā
Itās rained, a little bit this morning, then torrential at lunchtime with rumbles of thunder and then again a little bit this evening,Ā rain is my friend, today has been a good day.Ā
Ā
Green tennisā¦ Wimbledonā¦Starts at 11 am tomorrow,Ā Iāll be watching!
Ā
Ā
Ā
Good grief! My powers of rain producing exceed my wildest expectations! I can even send it to where itās required. Glad youāve had a good day, FF. A quick shower here would be nice to freshen things up, refill the water butts and the pond - and give me a break from watering the garden every flippinā night. Not that Iām complaining that weāve just sat in the garden until gone 11pm.
Onc appointment all OK. Mentioned flaky skin thing. She could see a small patch of reddish skin where the last one had been. She confirmed what Iāve been thinking: that as it keeps changing position and comes and goes it is unlikely to be anything other than some dermatological condition like eczema caused by dry skin and quite common after RT. She said I can get a āpunch biopsyā (could they think of a more painful sounding name?? :() anytime at the breast clinic, but it would need to be when the flaky skin is presenting. She was obviously not at all concerned so I wonāt be.
Ā
I think she has discharged me. My next appointment, in 12 months time, is with the trial clinic, not her, and may even be done over the phone! I am to continue taking the Tamoxifen, but she scared me by saying I MUST report any vaginal bleeding urgently to GP. Ooh er! Sounds like sheās almost *expecting* me to have Tamoxifen related gynae problems! Makes me tempted to stop taking it, but then there goes another safety net!!Ā
Woo hoo JCJ:smileyhappy:, have been on tenterhooks since arriving home and have been checking for your post!!!
So glad itās a skin condition, you def would have been sent for a biopsy asap if anything sinister. Re the ta"poxy"fen, a precaution/reminder as you are taking it for 10 years.
Itās a very odd feeling being signed off, you are happy but feel unsure, takes a little while to get your head around it all. In this area now you are finished with onc and surgeon 6 weeks after treatment ends, I feel so glad that it was 5 years of seeing someone when I was diagnosed. Even now you can still contact a BCN if worried. I liked having a safety net and feel sorry for the newly diagnosed, cutbacks, cutbacksā¦
Ā
Had lunch today with RevCat, she was asking about the two of you so I gave her an update haha!!
Another lovely day, no raindancing here please, just sooooooo good to have lovely weather. We had a very long cold winter, so itās deserved:smileyhappy:!
Lido on Thurs, am looking forward to it as feeling a little ouchy am hoping itās not like the last one where I was floored for days, itās so odd as you can never tell whatās going to happen:smileyfrustrated:, letās hope itās an energy giving one!
Day 3 of cream all ok so far:smileyhappy: xx
Ā
So glad that your appt went well JCJ and that the flaky skin thing is nothing to worry about.Ā Ā
Ā
Katy, do you really mean that people in your neck of the woods are now cut adrift 6 weeks after treatment? Surgery, chemo, radiotherapy and 6 weeks later goodbye?Ā No five year follow up mammos/ appts.?Ā Thatās just awful.Ā
Ā
Thank you for the rain yesterday JCJ but today has gone back to being far too hot and dry, our hottest day so far.Ā Iām surviving by doing nothing except sitting and watching green tennis and plugging in the humidifier. Forecast is for it to be cooler tomorrowā¦ I hope.
Ā
School lovely and tidy tonight and it was actually nicer to be at school than at home. A Victorian building with three foot walls is cooler inside than out. The annexe however is like a greenhouse!.Ā Got that done as fast as possible and went back to the cool of the main school.
Ā
Ā
Yes FF, how horrible is that???
Was all over the place yesterday, town, Mumās, and EDās, then went out later to chippie so today, nothing!!
YD home safely, not seen her for almost a month, missed herā¦
Ā
On my way home I cut through a car park, man was about to reverse as I was passing the space (was well away from him at this point), he started shouting out of the window at me, was around 10 feet away from him and his car at this pointā¦so reversed chariot back and asked if there was something wrong with him?? He started shouting that as I had a childs buggy I was in danger of being killed blah, blah blah. I said I was well aware of where he was and what he was doing and walked off to him shouting abuse at me, what??? I kept saying grow up, grow up, grow up which infuriated him even more haha. Was telling ED and she said you should have taken his number plate down and reported him, thought that was a great idea, never had a nut shouting at me before in the street and worst of all he was around the same age as me, what a twit, grrrrrrrrr!
Another hot start to the day, whew!
Have started āXā shopping, thatāll infuriate you too hahaha xx
Am on the āwhoop de whoopā bench, canula first attempt today:smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:!!!
And home by 3pmā¦
Where are you swimming now JCJ??
Am assuming you are both on the ātennisā bench haha xx
Katy, glad the cannula a success today, hope your side effects are few and the benefits are great.Ā Re the idiot shouing at you in the car park, if he canāt tell the difference between a childs buggy and a chariot, he shouldnāt be driving!Ā As you said a total twit!.
Ā
I had an amusing moment in supermarket car park today, I parked alongside a car that had people getting out, putting down a water bowl, lifting the boot open and saying " out you get Brutus"Ā What do you expect Brutus to be?Ā In my mind a large dog . So they then put up a ramp. so Iām thinking elderly large dog.Ā NO!Ā Brutus was a very small chihauhau!Ā Ā Either owners have a sense of humour or little Brutus has a big personality but it made me laugh.
Ā
Firmly sitting on the green tennis bench but there is too much choice, BBC1 and 2, the red button and more chioces online, Just what do I watch?
Woohoo! Cannula success. Hope the lido does its stuff and you donāt feel tired or icky this time.
Ā
Iām swimming round Jersey, starting off from St Brelades Bay on the south coast and circumnavigating clockwise. Should be back where I started about this time next year as itās 45 miles and I shall miss a few weeks in August. Did my involuntary winking at the lifesaver again tonight only this one was a good looking lad. Or at least as far as I could tell without my glasses!
Ā
NHS letter arrived today and I didnāt panic even a tiny bit. Knew it would be my follow up appointment for next year. It was. It is with the oncotrials clinic but that is run by the same onc that I have been seeing for the last 3 years! So nothingās actually changing?!
Ā
Yes, Iām on the tennis bench. When Iām not on the āFroof! Itās HOTā bench in the garden. Last night was frustrating. By the time Iād got dinner, watered the garden and done all the other faffing so I could sit in front of the Tele and watch some tennis it was raining at Wimbledon! Grrrr. All those choices and because they were all live streamed all I could watch was ex tennis players wibbling in the studios the covered courts being rained on or ****** football! Grrrr!Ā
PS lol at Brutus!
Iām still laughing about Brutus, I could tell the owners were Northerners (amd Northerners are much more friendly than Sotherners (sorry to stereotype but they just are) and my car window was open so IĀ said to himā¦ āBrutus?ā and he just shrugged. So funny.
Ā
Main road between my town and the next town closed this afternoon due to a gas leak.Ā This means all the traffic has to go through the lanes.Ā This causes total havoc, buses, coaches, lorries and all the cars trying to get through single way lanes with passing places. Chaos. Thank goodness it was Friday, I rang school and said I wasnāt coming in, I would do school tomorrow. My admin lady later contacted me and said it had taken her an hour and twenty minutes to get homeā¦itās normally a ten minute journey.
Ā
Itās far too hot down here, could you do another rain dance JCJ.Ā Pretty please?Ā Ā
Ā
Ā
Donning feathers, FF. At your service! Everything here is so scorched and brown. OH had to refill the water but from the tap. Considering showering in the garden to conserve water!
Ā
Annual village carnival today and theyāre going to put up a big screen in the park for the football match. Going to give that a VERY wide berth! Much, much, much too hot to be in amongst all those over excited people with no shade! Iāll do a quick trip to the farm shop and then watch all those spectators frying around centre court at Wimbledon from the relative comfort of my shady sofa!
et tu brute, brutus hahaha!!
Funny indeed:smileyhappy:
No rain dancing here pleaseā¦hope you are doing ok FF.
A feather dance??? woo hoo JCJ haha!
Ā
Am feeling fine this time, a little tired, must have been a good bagā¦:smileyhappy:
First week completed with cream, not much of a difference apart from a little redder and itchy, had a touch of nausea this morning but better now. All normal.
Family arriving later, so all good xx
I donāt do mornings but I made an effort today and went to school early, it was reasonableĀ so no extra effoet needed,Ā Pre school teacher turned up to take one of the fish out of her classroom aquarium.Ā Apparently heās getting too bigā¦ I know nothng about tropical fish but apparently he needs to go into her home aquarium which will be be big enough for him. She was really worried about catching him and getting him into the transport box but all went smoothly.Ā
Ā
Then I went to the library for reading matter and a quick trip into a shop for bread.Ā Home by 11 am. Not bad going by my standards!Ā Then Iāve pretty much sat on the tennis bench, with a foray onto the football bench when I judged it would be over for the result.Ā I have no interest whatsoever in football but they are my national team, so just a smige of curiosity as to how they are doing.
Ā
28 degrees down here today forecast to be 30 tomorrow, far far too hot. Iām looking forward to Tuesday when itās forecast 21 degrees.Ā
Ā
So glad you are feeling ok,Katy.Ā Would pay good money to see you showering in the garden JCJ!
Ā
Ā
Especially if JCJ is dancing with feathers??? FF, what a statement to make! Feathers may be the order of the dayā¦
Glad you finished work, managed all the other jobs and arrived home soooooooo early, sometimes itās worth it!
Am not going out today, will do things tomorrow, nothing urgent so it can wait.
Hot today but windy, itās not a cold wind which is soooooo unusual up here.
Are we allowed out of the shed tonight JCJ?
Are we invited to dinner?
Or will you be too busy dancing? Me and FF will be peeking from the shed hahaha!! xx
What a pair of pervy peeking Toms you are!
Ā
The rain dancing appears to be having an effect. There are many more clouds about today. Still very warm tho.
Ā
Dinner is baked ham, roasties, carrots, cauliflower in wholegrain mustard dressing, peas and a cheesy leek and mushroom sauce followed by nectarines in brandy, strawberries and black grapes with ice cream and creme fraiche. I. Am. Stuffed. OH in a sulk for some unknown reason so he didnāt finish his so thereās plenty in the shed (not just his half-eaten leftovers!)Ā
Ā
Right here we go awatering again. Sick of this game!
